Super Smash Brothers: Ultimate Thread

The original Super Smash Brothers was released for the Nintendo 64 back in 1999. At the end of the 20th Century, she had a modest, yet well rounded roster of 12 characters: Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Samus, Link, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox McCloud, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Ness, and Captain Falcon. Nearly 20 years later, the 5th entry in the series: Super Smash Brothers: Ultimate released on the Nintendo Switch, with more than 100 stages to do battle on with its positively massive roster of 74 characters (with 6 more well on the way). With so many characters and so many stages, it is difficult to think of a game that can truly top Ultimate.

After having played this game for around 12 hours already, I earnestly believe that this is the best game in the series and shall be cherished by fans of Nintendo, or of video games in general, for generations to come.

What do you think, oh NationStates? Is this truly the Ultimate game?

Yeah, he looks pretty cool, and he was definitely a big surprise. 'Course I never got round to playing the Persona games, but I always thought they looked interesting.

Never played them either, but watched Youtube playthroughs of Personas 3, 4 and, 5.

Also watched the Anime of the 4th.

Fell in love with the story of persona.

After he got in Soul Calibur and Monster Hunter World 3, I want Geralt of Rivia in smash.

That'd be pretty neat. Personally, I'm hoping for the Dovahkiin from Skyrim or maybe the Doom Guy. One (or both) of these characters would really cement Bethesda and Nintendo's relationship as well as adding some more truly iconic characters to the series.

I wish I had a Switch, but I played Ultimate on my friend's Switch for a bit. We had a blast, and I obliterated everyone as the Villager.

Nicely done. My elder brother plays a mean villager too. Though he is even better with Captain Falcon (his main since 64) and the Wii Fit Trainer. He is basically the king of meme fighters.

Any tips on who is the best character to farm the unlock matches with? I've been using Captain Falcon and King Dedede, but I tend to get smacked around a lot. I hear K. Rool is pretty strong.

And if we are going to do a poll for characters we want to see, my vote goes to one from Dark Souls, maybe Gwyn or Solaire. Either that or a Monster Hunter.
