Isratine Cold-War(IC thread)

Postby Saranidia » Sat Dec 08, 2018 6:22 am

Isratine(a state including what was Israel and Palestine with democratic elections for both Israelis and Palestinians and the return of Palestinian refugees) was invaded in a "crusade".
The leaders of various countries involved in the Pro-Isratine and Pro-Crusader sides
are currently negotiating peace agreements but no one wants to give up their lands.

Upon hearing the news that the Levantine Crusader Empire had decided to invade Jerusalem, the Slick Works Well Control Company (S.W.W.C.C.) scrambled to gather a team of 120 employees and send them to Isratine. This team of personnel consisted of 100 veteran well control specialists and 20 armed guards to protect the well workers while they worked. They also brought with them the machinery and materials needed for capping gas and oil wells. These workers didn't care about the local politics or the factions of this conflict. What they cared about was supporting the local population and ensuring that once the last bullet was fired that there wouldn't be serious economic repercussions in this region stemming from oil/gas fires that would burn for months/years wasting income that could support the locals. These workers learned from other conflicts in the Middle East that once oil and gas wells were targeted and not extinguished then economic turmoil would affect the post war population. With this in mind, the Slick Works Well Control Company workforce landed in Isratine.

"Yerushalaim, Yerushalaim, O Hallowed Root of Religion/Blessed be thee, chosen of God without Division" Suleiman recited the newest couplets he concoted, marching with fellow patrollmen. Despite being the ward of the famed Mikhail Khan, Suleiman Abdulalim refused any command that he didn't earn. In spite of his academic career at the Saranadi School, he maintained a humble countenance, sleeping alongside other soldiers, and engaging in banter due to his being among the younger and less experienced present. Nevertheless, Suleiman charmed some with his knack for poetry and song, and often busied himself aiding civilians or helping people whenever he wasn't drilling.

Deciding that the timbre needed to be refined later, Suleiman focused largely on rumors of the Slick Wells petroleum workers, who were trained to maintain economic stability in the area and the combating of oil fires. Something he hoped wouldn't be a common occurrence.

“Ma’am, it has come to our attention that a foreign power has come to unnecessary hostilities with Isratine”, Skylar’s aid said to her walking into her office.
“Is that so?” She asked.
“Yes”
“Very well, send a division of troops, with accompanying Armor and all other military required. Remember, this is for peace keeping, protect and evacuate all civilians we can.”
“Yes Ma’am”, he said. The aid, Jeremy Woods went back to his office and made many long, and important calls.

He managed to round up a fleet of ten corvettes and a couple of destroyers. He wanted it clear that Ausinia wasn’t messing around. He also managed regiment of Fighter craft, 200 helicopters, a battalion of MBTs, and 100 Self-propelled Artillery. All to arrive within a month or two, in the mean time, a Platton of MBTs and a battling of Troops were sent quickly for minor defence and patrol.

Most had dodge but one man was trapped in the rubble, an Al Saranidi plane had shot the Crusader plane down.
"Yes there is a man in the rubble" they said as they are trying to dig him out and save him with relative success. Some Al Saranidi soldiers and other Ayyubidian soldiers as well as an Isratinian Platoon began to help them and he managed to get out.

After the Slick Works Well Control Company workers landed and offloaded their equipment they headed for the Mamilla Hotel. Although they were a band of roughnecks, the S.W.W.C.C. took care of its employees and usually attempted to book them accommodations in fancier places of residence while they worked. This helped keep moral high and in turn allowed for a higher efficiency in their work. Once they were all settled in they gathered in one of the conference rooms and Jennifer Johnson, the head drilling fluids engineer of the group, started to give a PowerPoint presentation on where they might be working. "Alright ladies and gentlemen, there are two primary areas where we will be working if the worst happens. The first is the land based Meged Oil Field. The Meged Oil Field is just north of us here in Jerusalem. There are a few oil and gas wells here but the Meged 5 oil well is located on Isratine Holy Army training grounds. This means if we have a burner out there to exercise extreme caution. We don't want to trip any munitions left over from exercises. The second area that we will be working in is the Leviathan Gas Field. The Leviathan Gas Field is a natural gas field just to the north-west of us in the Mediterranean gulf. We have already called back to company HQ and they will be sending a fleet of ships to assist if we have to work out there. For the land based oil/gas fires, we'll be using the standard procedure of using explosives to put out the fires before we cap the wells. Until we are called up, you all are now dismissed and allowed to get out and see the sights. Tonight is probably the last peaceful night this country will have so enjoy it. If any fighting takes place, head immediately back to the Mamilla Hotel. The security detail should be prepared and if need be we have spare armaments for all of you. Alright, have a good evening and stay safe folks." With that the roughnecks split up and went out to experience the Isratine night life before the fighting would reach them.

46 crusader planes tried to bomb the troops but half were shot down and the commander ordered them to flee. There were 47 anti-crusader planes.

Crusader losses: 23

Anti-Crusader losses: 20

the Isratinian army medical corp cleared their wounded to hospital and the crusaders were allowed the same to theirs.

They followed his orders, the man had been dug out and Marshal Saladin Khan of Ayyubidia called the Ayyubidian Airforce to assist them.

Now having a moment to calm down and assess the situation, he paced like a caged animal. How the Crusaders could so easily attack such a historic target so quickly and without alarm was worrying, and his mind gradually concocted even more terrible scenarios of moles, generally incompetent soldiers, or the fact he underestimated the Crusader's tenacity. He re-read the letter from Fatimah, while not the first (for Sully made sure to tell he did his travels, and life in the army, as well as bombarding the Guild with a request for status reports.), and recollecting his thoughts, he decided to prioritise fixing the evident gaps in his defense and intelligence system.

As well as promptly heading towards whoever was responsible for keeping the Holy City safe, to chew them out.

-To the Flower, Fatimah Al-Ghadaffi

May this letter find you well, for the battles here are just beginning. I ask in advance for your forgiveness in late replies, for war zones make for poor postal services. I would also humbly request Your Father to withhold any plans of reception, until I return to you safely, if he even approved of this arrangement to begin with.

The Crusaders are wily, having struck us with a lonely bomber. Casualties are minimal, but the fact that such an attack happened so swiftly weighs upon my soul. It is truly wise in saying that "glory be to the
jihad and the mujahadeen, for there is little glory in war.

May the Almighty grant us continued safety of the City of Revealations, and may he close the distance between us even now.

- A fellow servant,

Suleiman

Perhaps woefully, Suleiman didn't seem to care much for the actual courtship of Fatimah. Not out of disrespect, but rather wariness of differing customs. In Danceria, the father would approve of the presence of the would-be-courter, who would gradually not only become intimate with the woman in question, but gradually associate his friends with hers, and aid the family in any way he could. Despite this seemingly conservative avenue of romance, it was believed in Dancerian culture that "love happens between two people, and happy marriages between two families".

“Command we have reports of a bombing on a mosque in sector 5, mark 2!”, a patrol reports in.
“Ok, we’re sending troops and medics to the scene make sure to evacuate all citizens from mark 2 and surrounding areas, get mobile aa set up on loyal rooftops, this cannot be allowed again.”
“Understood”

Due to their assistance only 9% of the people there died.
Mostly represents my views but what I think a Middle Eastern nation should do which will be sometimes different to what I think a western nation should do(because the people have different needs in different places)

The Ausinian Commwealth
First strike by hostile forces, destroying a mosque

By Jamie Hawkings

Crusader forces have striked for the first time, today. This comes just after the arrival of the first Ausinian troops. A mosque was hit by a bomber from an enemy plane. While the intentions of the target are unclear, most assume it was a direct hit. To much gratitude, military personnal where on scene when it happened, and where able to call for back up. Ausinian medics arrived swiftly and helped the survivors. Only an estimated 9% of casualties died as a opposed to the possible 40% mortality rate.

The Republican Party are still arguing against the engagement of ‘clearly barbaric’ forces, though PM Skylar Heathrow is certain that ‘this is the best course of action for the protection of Jerusalem and Isratine.

"Great...not only do we have to worry about civilians, but reporters as well." Suleiman would bemoan, making his way to Mikhail Khan's office to deliver his report.
