If a person has refounded many nations in Osiris, does that count for citizenship? Asking for a friend :P

I'm sorry, but I hope for your sake Toads your joking, there is no mechanism to remove the Pharaoh, and anyway, why would we want to. Osiris is now stable, secure and at its most active in a while. Altino has done nothing to merit removal despite the fact there is no mechanism to do so, you might want to read up on Osiris laws before you make such stupid comments btw. If anything Osiris needs to give Altino a medal.

The Sekhmet Legion - 2018 in review

A look back at the awesome stuff we did

Tag Raiding

The main thing that the Sekhmet Legion (the official raider military of Osiris) did in 2018 was tag raiding. Some think tag raiding is lame, others enjoy it - and we did a lot of it. Here are some quick numbers on just how often we tag raided:

47 tag raids

Image

From May 27th all the way up to the end of the year, we tag raided on a fairly regular basis. Some months were slower than others, and some months we raided a lot (particularly as of late!)

All that raiding meant that we attacked a lot of regions. To be precise...

637 hits out of 1102 targets

Out of the 1102 regions we attempted to raid, we succesfully raided 637 of them. Here is a graph of the targets and hits in each month:

Image

Obviously, the targets per month is correlated with the raids per month. More raids tends to mean that we raid more regions.
If you're wondering what happened in June, we did our biggest raid yet.

57.8% accuracy

We successfully raided 57.8% of the targets that we attempted to. Here is how that statistic changed over time:

Image

We've slowly but steadily gotten slightly better in the past few months. May is an outlier as we only did one raid and it went really well.

23.45 targets per raid, of which we hit 13.55 on average

Image

Unsurprisingly these statistics stayed relatively consistent except for in June when we did that really big raid.

We did a fair amount of special tag raids, including an attempted raid on all the Warzones (which failed miserably and led to a downward spiral for Osiris-IJCC relations) and raids for various holidays.

As the main thing the Legion did last year, tag raiding led to the creation of the most amusing memories. Here are a few:

Hold Missions

Of course tagging isn't everything the Legion did last year. We had our WA nations stuck in certain regions for far more than the instant they were kept in the regions we tag raided. On top of the many delegate transitions we forgot to record, here is a snapshot of every region that we piled in:

Equestria - started 7/2, the annual Raidercon target
Esterios - started 12/3, one of our troops (Bdurham07) was a former native of the region and wanted it as a trophy so we refounded it

We also started collecting a statistic that we call Piling Points.

Flash Refounds

Not all of the regions that the Legion refounded in 2018 required a big force of pilers. Some examples of flash refounds last year include:
I suspect there were more, but nobody wrote reports on them.

And I cannot bring up flash refounds at all without giving a shoutout to Ghostfox, who has played a critical role in organizing the majority of stealth raids so far. While she has been locked as a Guardian, and therefore unable to use a WA nation herself in any of these missions, she has placed sleeper nations to gather influence and organized other people to become delegates of the relevant regions. Her organizational skills have made her an invaluable Legionnaire and officer!

Other Statistics and Closing Notes

253 Embassies

Our Jump Point, Nineveh (where we store our puppets,) had 253 embassies as of 12/31/18. While that number includes Osiris and a few other special regions, most of those embassies are with regions that we have raided. Those regions include for the most part regions that we have tag raided, as well regions that we have refounded (and now permanently control.) That should give you a scale of just how many regions are currently affected by the Sekhmet Legion!

22 Legionnaires

As of 12/31/18 22 people were in the Sekhmet Legion. Not bad! And of course, that would be impossible without

40 Applications

On 40 different occurrences in 2018, someone applied to join the Sekhmet Legion. I think we accepted them every time, although one person (Krotfordamions) turned out to be very bad. And hey, we are always looking for new members! Hopefully we can get a bunch more people in 2019.

I would like to give a special thanks to all of the Legionnaires for their great work last year. 2019 will hopefully be a fantastic year for us, as we will have the entire year to do things rather than just the last 7 months!

On Decency

It's unfortunate that a post like this is necessary, but here we are.

We would like to start by saying this is not an in character post, and that Osiris respects TNP's sovereignty and autonomy in administering its citizenship process. Instead, this post is intended to address our concerns, as players, and most importantly as the real people behind the screens and the personas, about some aspects of the culture in gameplay today. The events that have sparked this response took place in TNP, and the specific nature of them may well be connected to the community culture within TNP, but the wider issue is far from unique to TNP. We must remember that each and every persona on this game has a real human behind it, and no matter how much one may have an in game rivalry with another player, there is a basic level of courtesy and respect that should be afforded to everyone. We forget these basic facts at our peril.

Recently, Cormac attempted to gain citizenship in TNP, and was rejected in the Vice Delegate's security check. This began a process whereby a popular vote would be held on the matter of Cormac's citizenship. Had this been approached in a respectful manner by those involved in the discourse, the whole process would have been fine. However, as the existence of this post surely makes obvious, it was not. It is perfectly fine not to like some players or think they'll be a good fit for your community. Everyone knows a player or two they'd rather not interact with. However, it isn't ever okay in real life or on NS to spread unfounded rumours about a person, or to treat them as deserving of contempt and mistreatment. Calmly saying why you don't like someone and keeping your cool about it is fine, whereas getting yourself upset and calling people names is not.

Concerningly, when Altino voiced her concerns about TNP's approach to Cormac within the TNP discord, she was met with mockery and dismissal, not understanding. Some players even took the opportunity to double down on their hostility to Cormac. Disappointingly, wild and unfounded accusations were thrown into the mix, and a member of the government implied they would ignore Altino's complaints if they were officially lodged.

This post does not intend to point fingers at any specific individuals. Instead we would like to draw attention to a culture within TNP that deeply concerns us, and should concern anyone. People who have never met or interacted with one another in any meaningful way do not begin spewing vitriolic hatred for no reason. People don't form opinions in a vacuum - opinions are shaped by outside influences, especially the influences of trusted and powerful individuals or groups. With this in mind, we would like to make a plea to those with the power to shape opinions to remember the impacts of their actions. For now, TNP must look internally at how it, as a community, was able to allow people to be treated as Cormac and Altino were. TNP's leadership and administration must demonstrate their seriousness in approaching this gravely disappointing issue. Each and every region on this game bears a responsibility to keep itself free of toxicity, and the onus is now upon TNP to demonstrate that it can and will do so going forward. Trust in TNP's ability to do this, already shaky prior to these events, must be won back.

We, as a playerbase and as people, must remember to treat others with kindness and courtesy, if we are to expect the same in return. Please, to anyone and everyone reading this, be kind and respectful.

Josh Sunfire, Guardian of Osiris
On Behalf of the Pharaoh and Government of Osiris

It is saddening to see that a pist like this is necessary.

I urge TNP to take action against this behaviour.

As someone who has just recently joined Osiris, as well as having a WA nation in TNP, let me share my personal opinion. I do not speak for either, so please take these as my own words, not official words from either TNP or Osiris.

This has been a very unwarranted move so far from what I can see, and I am sad to see that it went that way. If someone failed a security check like so, I personally believe that unfounded rumors, attacks, or implications should not be the way to be.

A person can make a mistake, and while I might not understand why Cormac attempted to do so, it was just that single action that should be acknowledged, along with the popular vote, which was done AFAIK. However, just because someone attempted to gain a status, does NOT mean that everyone else has the full rein to attack, harass, or generally be an ass towards them.

I might not know much, so please do correct me if the events I have talked about are inaccurate, but regardless of what Cormac has done, I think it should be apparent that no one should be ill-treated, or that hostile towards someone.
