If most people in my country were Black for example, and I was one of the only Whites; it'd be understandable that I could be deported in that scenario. This guy doesn't even look like your typical African American. He looks like he's from the Caribbean. By looks alone though, you wouldn't be able to tell where he's from. At this point, if ICE can target a random everyday American, I think it's safe to assume we all should be concerned about an increasingly meaninglessly heavily armed military force patrolling our city streets with impunity and an above the law status.

If this article doesn't convince you that ICE is out of control and heavy handed, I don't know what will. Every officer involved in this individual's death should be sentenced to death, or at least to life in prison. But i doubt they will be even charged because like most other law enforcement in the un-united state of hysteria, they get a free pass to basically abuse their power.
Just remember what happened in Los Angeles in 1992 after the citizens there faced years of abuse by the local police. If something isnt done soon to reign in these thugs, I have a feeling there will be a flashpoint that leads to serious civil unrest, widespread violence and a mob using a more lethal method to solve ICE if the government wont. People who are backed into a corner lash out, and there's only so far ICE can go before they start suffering damages and casualties. Stop the exploitation now, or don't complain when things get worse.

The person in question looks foreign enough, so ICE should get no blame in trying to deport him. I'd agree to a settlement though. The purpose of a lawsuit is to get compensation for damages. Its not to get rich or to be able to live in the lap of luxury or any of that nonsense, even though this is sometimes the new effect of certain cases.

This man should perhaps get up to $100,000 at most. A few years' worth of wages that his previous job would've gotten him. Enough to give him plenty of time to find a new job but not enough to retire on the spot.

Seems ICE has agreements with some US county local law enforcement agencies to pay them for holding illegals they catch. So this local Florida county law enforcement agency was going to get $50 a day from ICE for holding this guy. However, in the end local county taxpayers will have to foot the bill, probably a few millions, after this guys civil lawyers get through with them.
