Guys, is it just me misremembering, or does Stellaris not have UI scaling?

I assume you've restarted Steam by now, so try just "starting" the game. Prompting the game to start is what gets updates going for me, these days. Steam seems to be degenerating and not do anything automatically or intuitively anymore, I don't like it.

I've also tried restarting my PC with the same lack of success, tried hitting 'play' and it just continues 'update queued'.

As is usual with these very major Stellaris updates, my only desire was to fiddle with the species designer and find something that appeals to me. Think I might try this expansionist, super-defensive build I created. I feel like the traits and ethics alone can tell the story of this race without any need to see the appearance or the names I gave them.
