I guess the first time it watched it I was to young to actually appreciate how well thought out season 1-8 were.(after season 8 the series changes so many voice actors and loses its charm). Needless to say its pretty funny seeing which episodes they took the memes from

Indigo League was my personal favorite, along with D/P, and Johto Journeys.

I loved D/P. It's my favorite of the modern seasons.

Actually, I still haven't finished it, but I liked what I saw.

Regarding geography, does the Pokémon world take place in an alternate version of our planet or somewhere with different continents?

Early in the franchise, they made references to real life places like South America and China, but they've since excised those references. They don't even acknowledge real animals anymore. So...I dunno?

Indigo League had numerous RL references, iirc.

They haven't necessarily excised them. It's mostly just ignoring them.

The world of Pokémon is a strange one. One theory is that Pokémon are descendants of bioweapons used in a war so massive and destructive, it changed everything forever.

That's something which always confused me as a child. Especially because there's even a Kantō region in real life.

Don't bother yourselves with the lore beyond the local stories for each region. When pokemon decided to ignore the majority of its dedicated fanbase being adults or near adults to appeal to small children for all eternity the lore as a whole was dead. I can't find the post but there was a good post explaining how pokemon love battling, don't suffer from battling, and actually love being in pokeballs/PCs and that it was all canon. Pokemon death came from human cruelty that has been extinct, eating pokemon has been shafted to the dark recesses of older games, and even slowpokes regrow tails. The lore is dead, long live the brand.

i don't have a photo of it, but in my new save of Pokemon Sun i caught this low-level Rufflet (named Flesh-Ripper) with an UNBELIEVABLY high defense stat. he was basically a god in fights, and my main source of exp with the exception of my starter pokemon Rowlett & it's evolutions, of course. then i got up to the Rock-type trial and got smashed over and over again. then a lucky crit, i win, and i could go back to being god.

Pokémon Go is, at some point this month, adding in PvP battling.

It only took two years for this basic element of pokeymans to enter the game.

Got a shiny Snorunt and 2 shiny Spheals after 14 and 22 encounters (With the 2nd Spheal taking... I stopped keeping track) respectively. It was a male Snorunt, so now I need a female to complete the Glalie-Froslass pair.

Haven't run into a single shiny Zubat though, which is odd considering how common they are.
