And so, with the last of the voter recounts finally finished, the 2018 mid term elections have concluded and the results are now official: The Ruvian Conservative Party has taken back control of the Imperial Senate with a 2 seat majority! That may not seem like much, but keep in mind that the RLP had a comfortable 12 seat majority before the elections started so it's a pretty huge swing.

I am extremely proud of the Ruvian people for the amazing turnout. For the first time in well over 100 years, an actual majority of the eligible voting public cast a vote in the midterms. A voter turnout of 50.16% !! Who said Ruvian voters were apathetic again? The higher the turnout, the better informed our government can be when it comes to the will of the people, so let's do even better in 2020! I am also excited to report that we now have more women and minorities in elected positions then we have ever had at any previous point in our history. As always, our incredible diversity is still our greatest strength.

To all the newly declared senator-elects: welcome! I am so excited for the chance to get to meet you all and start figuring out how we can make Ru even better in the future. Congratulations are in order for your success in a hard fought campaign, but the real work begins now.

To those senators that are leaving us: thank you for your many years of tireless dedication and faithful service to myself and the people of Ru. I also thank you for conceding with utmost honor and dignity. I know for many of you, your sense of civic responsibility does not end here. I wish you luck in your future endeavors for your fellow Ruvians.

I wished to speak briefly on Nevada's vote to leave Cascadia and form their own sovereign republic, most likely of a liberal and capitalistic nature. First of all, I want to make it absolutely clear that the results will be honored. The referendum was legal, and turnout was as high as always. The vote was perfectly legitimate, and a tight margin will not change that, especially after two weeks of recounts. Rhetoric of 'foreign influence' and 'door-to-door intimidatiors' must end. We're better than that.

We will be working with Nevadan politicians to ensure a smooth transition into independence. My administration extends only goodwill towards the people of Nevada in this transition. Even if our political systems differ, I want only peace and alliance with fellow nations on the North American continent.

As for those who wish to leave Nevada, we are now offering a program to help you do so. Please visit your nearest National Housing Program office for help. NHP offices will remain open in Nevada until six months after the transition is complete.

It's time to remember the november coup of 1944. This incident has lead to deaths of ten of thousands, as well as technological and economic set back for the decades to come. The newly created government of the Socialist Republic of Radimostan have replaced skilled managers of newly nationalized companies, with an army of loyal yesmen. Many politicaly uncomfortable doctors, lawyers, and even teachers lost their jobs or have been outright imprisoned for their call for human decency. The doctrine of separation of powers was abolished, instead, the courts became a mere theatre plays where innocent were found guilty for crimes that never happened. Gone were the rights and freedoms, gone was fair representation at courts and gone was the presumption of innocence and other values we now consider natural. They were replaced by uncertainty, fear and terror.

Let's hope that the crimes orchestrated by the Communist Pary of Radimostan will never be forgotten. Let's hope that all apologists of far-left will find their forgotten rason. Let's hope that the people of other nations that are still opressed will rise in the name of liberal democracy.

Laeralian PM Misra Accused Of Accepting Serrielan Bribes

Progressive Party candidate for President and incumbent Prime Minister Tanvi Misra may have accepted special treatment from the government of Serriel in an quid pro quo deal in exchange for a free-trade agreement. The alleged bribe involves a parliamentary trip which Ms. Misra, then a Delegate in the General Assembly, took along with 2 fellow Delegates and 7 Representatives in October of 2009, when then-Delegate Misra was running for reelection. Minister Misra was apparently treated to a luxurious trip including stays at five-star resorts and gourmet dinners. Several large yet anonymous donations from individuals in Serriel and a shadowy group known as the Serrielan Cooperation Council were made to Misra’s election campaign two days after the trip. Upon her return to Laeral, she was the co-sponsor of a bill, the Laeral-Serriel Trade Act of 2009, promoting Laeralian trade with Serriel. The Catican nation, formally an Islamic republic, has been accused of human rights abuses by various watchdog groups. Critics have accused Misra of effectively taking bribes from the Serrielan government in exchange for working to pass the bill, while Ms. Misra denies all wrongdoing. Given that Misra is a leading candidate for the office of the presidency, this is likely to become a political issue as opponents question Misra's character. To my Ruvian and Caellian followers: Happy Harfest! Who are you spending the holiday with, which teams are you going for in the Harfest football games, and most importantly of all, what are you eating?? (bet you can't make me jealous! lol)

I know I have alot of international followers as well, so for those who aren't familiar: Harfest is one of the 4 Caellian seasonal holy days, this time for autumn. It is a harvest festival, where we express our gratitude for the things we have been blessed with throughout the year. Basically, it is just one big dinner feast and has it's roots in the communal feasting that occurred in the towns and villages of feudal Ru during the time of the harvest.

It is the most flexible (and perhaps, most secular) of the holy days: not as ritualistic and ceremonial as the Spring Festival, not as outdoor wild and communal as the Summer Celebration, and not as calm and family focused as Longest Night, the winter holy day. It can involve going to the temple or not, spent at a town's community festival or just with one's own family: as long as there is lots of food, it's Harfest! Like the Summer Celebration, one does not have to be Caellian to enjoy it. Many non Caellians in Ru join in on the fun, and these two days have become as much of a Ruvian national holiday then it is a religious holiday, perhaps more so.

Speaking of the holiday: it's gonna give me alot more free time then I'm used to! (at least before the evening, when I'll have to lead the royal family's Harfest celebrations, please do join us for that if you can!) So it's a good opportunity to bring back my little AMA: Here.
