The New Year Debate!

Two months ago, the unthinkable happened: the Academic Party (AP) was split into two. The secessionist party, the Secular Pacifist Party (SPP), transformed from a group of disagreeing senators into a whole political movement, acquiring half of the AP senators in the process. The party is presenting a whole different political agenda, advocating for a return to the earlier policies of the deceased Emperor.

The political instability caused by the secession has been finally put behind, and thus a new era of politics presents itself to the Fregantese State as the Senate is now housing three major parties. The leaders of these parties were invited to participate in a new year debate, where they will present their ideas for the future of the FE.

Academic Party: Jean-Martin Fleuchaim
Secular Pacifist Party: Feridas Damadou
Fregantese Centre-Left Coalition/Fregantese Social Democratic Front: Matthias Kowalczyk

Mediator: “Ladies and gentlemen, before you is the three leaders of the three most influential political movements of the Fregantes Empire. In this special broadcast, they will give their respective perspectives in certain topics concerning foreign policy, administration, trade, and much more. So, without further addition, here is the first issue: What are your party’s foreign policy objectives in near future? We will start with you, Chancellor Fleuchaim.”

Fleuchaim: “Thank you. The objectives of the AP are simple: Preserving the current success. The FE might not be a power on the world stage by herself, but through the URT and the DEU, her vision is widespread, her diplomats are respected, her reputation is remarkable and the institutions she founded are operating within and without with huge success. Thanks to the EIM and the DEU policies like the PFZ, our country is prospering like never before in her history. With the URT, we have ensured everlasting peace in the Balkans, and made two reliable allies. It is the goal of my party, and my government, to keep this success going on and on.”

Mediator: “Mr. Damadou?”

Damadou: “The issue of foreign policy is one of those areas that the SPP fervently disagrees with the AP. The URT is militaristic in its nature, and it was an act of last resort. Its predecessor, the Imperial League, was founded by us to ensure that a threat like the Danubian Federation never rose to threaten us again in the Balkans, but it was us who threw their own safety by intervening in the first place! We got ourselves in this mess, tried to fix it with an alliance, and when that alliance became too big, too unstable, when it was viewed with extreme suspicion, and when it started to collapse, we tried to save it by merging with the Italians and the Austrians. If we didn’t abandon our sacred neutrality, we wouldn’t be in this artificial conglomerate! We are advocating for the FE to leave the URT, to declare unconditional neutrality and switch back to our old currency, the Alforia. Lastly, we want to see a normalisation in our relations with South America. The Transatlantic tension is because of Espalsio, Italy, ADE and Zackaroth. The FE has no personal offense in regards of South America.”

Mediator: “Thank you Mr. Damadou. Mr. Kowalczyk?”

Kowalczyk: “The FCLC has always been sceptical about the URT, but we generally view it as “acceptable and necessary”. There is merit in the Chancellor’s words, the URT, alongside with the DEU, is giving us broader access to the world, especially in terms of commerce and diplomacy. Plus, unconditional neutrality might put us into danger, since Eastern Europe is relatively unstable, and the Bismarck Doctrine is “politely ignored” by everybody. We need to be involved in international affairs to ensure our safety and prosperity. Also, I would like to point out something that was forgotten by Mr. Damadou. Europe. The FCLC supports European unity in all forms, and we must do our best to contribute to this goal. We need to aid Poland as much as we can, through investments, sending professionals and a trained workforce and providing advisors to their central government.”

Mediator: “Okay, onto the next subject; Economy and Commerce. Chancellor?”

Fleuchaim: “The AP will preserve the free market economy, but it will also enforce the regulations with the necessary zeal. We will encourage the growth of our information technologies industry and expand our ports to enlarge our commercial capacity. We value the MCG as it is the institution helping us in creating the fiscal plans for us and the URT. It is equally our objective to further integrate green energy technologies to our economy, and help export these technologies. We also do value the EIM and the URT for ensuring free trade with our neighbours, and expanding our commercial reach with new projects.”

Damadou: “The SPP shares similar views on our domestic trade and economic policy. We wish to stimulate economic growth, to see further investments pouring into our vital industries and the integration of green energy. However, we are highly sceptical of the merits of the URT and the EIM-DEU. For example, the PFZ is considered to be an important progress in agricultural policy, but it has also taken the effective negotiating position of the government in price negotiations. We propose staying in the EIM, but not taking part in the DEU projects like the PFZ or the Common Currency Reserve. In addition, the MCG is, in shadows, what the OPDA was to the Ottomans. It has the final say in our commercial policy, in the value of our currency, which actually doesn’t belong to us. In the case that the SPP is elected to power, we will ensure that the MCG will be gone.”

Kowalczyk: “While we support our position in the EIM, and our inclusion in initiatives such as the PFZ, we think that the current regulations aren’t enough. The FE claims to be a welfare state, and we need to make sure that we honour this claim. Suspicious activities by companies have been taking place in Preveza for one and a half year, and yet no decisive action has been taken. We are risking the lives of our citizens along with the safety and the fairness of our market economy. We also want to see more union activity. We will openly cooperate with the Confederation of Fregantese Syndicates whether we will be in government or not. The Thessaloniki protests were a huge success and we need to see more movements like it.”

Mediator: “And we have reached our third and final topic: The Patriarchy of Athens. The Patriarchy’s latest actions created great controversy within and without of the FE. What are the views of the parties?”

Fleuchaim: “The AP, and my government think that the actions of the Patriarchy doesn’t concern the state. So far, they haven’t broken any laws, haven’t started an international crisis or haven’t meddled in state affairs. They seized the leadership of the Orthodox world, but that has nothing to do with the government, nor with the average citizen. It is our preference to leave the church be.”

Damadou: “We find the actions of the Patriarchy to be very concerning. It is an institution within our borders, and it has remained calm and quiet for decades. What has led it to these actions of power acquisition? Why the Patriarchy is suddenly following a foreign policy of its own? And during and before their council many clergymen have been reported to have met with state officials in greater frequency. The Patriarchy is following an unknown political agenda, and it is trying to use our state’s political resources to achieve its goals. This act undermines our secular way of life! The Patriarchy must be subjected to supervision and rendered incapable of pursuing an international agenda!”

Kowalczyk: “We too believe that the actions of the Patriarchy to be suspicious, and that the institution should be supervised by the state, but effectively barring them from taking action abroad is too much. The Orthodox Church as a whole is an international organisation, and we should respect the Patriarchy’s connection to the broader Orthodox community. We do propose however, that the supervision include a fiscal report of the Patriarchy’s budget, so that we can be informed about the organisations actions in greater detail.”

Mediator: “Well then. Thank you all again for your contribution, and thanks a lot to our audience who remained civil until the very end of the debate. The New Year Debate is now over. Happy New Year!”
"Long live the legacy of the Roman Empire!"

| Orbanis in Shambles |
........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

With the war now over as new government now set up on mainland Japan, Orbanis lies broken. Now separated from the heart of the Pacific Alliance, JDOC and the former Japanese Pacific possessions have formed the Pacific Coalition to work together to repair the damage from the war. While there was minimal damage on the territories, the lack of food or medical aid has left them in a state of low morale and the splitting of the country has caused that sentiment to plummet even more. Further, the disruption of trade has caused an economic recession within the Coalition as the economy is struggling to operate without a major industrial base. However, the sliver lining in all this despair is that the Coalition has made a powerful new ally: The North American Federation. The Coalition has officially been declared a protectorate under the political union giving it a major economic boost as well as military protection until the Coalition can organize its military forces. The Coalition has been in talks with the NAF involving everything from trade deals to joint military exercises.

[Tab=][/Tab]Another major moral booster is the fact that many of the advanced LANCER technologies and a large portion of the Navy has remained in Coalition hands. While Fabricators have the potential to both feed the entire population and provide an industrial base it will be a while until they come online. One economic sector that has resumed operation is deep sea mining as the opening of the markets once more has caused a boom in the market. ASD International has begun to construct vessels in the Abyss Shipyards for international orders ranging from subfighters to full sized submarines. The Magellan Subcarrier SCV-1M is slated to be completed by the end of the month with a full sea wing as it was one of the few vessels untouched by the seizure of the Abyss during the war. France's subfighter order is far behind schedule due to the loss of the majority of the subfighter factories from mainland Japan but their three submarine escort carriers should be ready for trials in another three months.

........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

With the Orbanis Government gone and most of the governments in the territories autonomous and answering the the higher levels on Japan, the loss of a central government has led to a major issue of administration and budget dispersal across the islands. The Coalition members are slated to meet at APN headquarters in Chuuk to discuss a new government for the Pacific and possibly the creation a new nation. The talks are set to include everything from industrialization and research top military operations and diplomatic outreach. One of the biggest concerns at this meeting is to ensure that all coalition members remain as part of this new government and that no one isolates themselves from the coalition over a minor argument. It is likely that the NAF will be a part of these talks as they are the current source of military protection and economic support.

........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

JDOC forces have withdrawn from the remaining regions where they were concentrated in Japan, mainly Tokyo. JDOC can no longer support a massive aid mission in now a foreign country until the situation within the Coalition is under control. JDOC's headquarters on Hokkaido issued the following statement:

While it saddens us to withdraw from somewhere that to many of us is home, we no longer can afford diverting resources to Japan. The Coalitions territories span thousands of miles and contain 30 million people, half of them low on food and medicine with a few areas even showing riots over shortages. JDOC must prioritize the stability of the nation it operates in and as such it will be deploying aid and military forces within the Coalition. these forces will be escorted by the JDOC Defense Navy and our air transports will continue to produce 24/7 supply lines to and from the most remote reaches of the Coalition. if anyone is willing to give JDOC materiel ad we would welcome it. We also welcome any volunteers to help the Coalition get back on its feet.

Tupi Field Productions Reach Record Highs

Today, the Amero Gas Corporation announced that oil production in the Tupi field has risen to 500,000 barrels a day. The Tupi field is one of the largest oilfields in the world. Although discovered in the early 2000s, oil extracting operations were hindered by the sheer deepness of the fields, greatly complicating the task. However, after years of progress production is starting to ramp up. Once infrastructure in the field is fully developed its expected that oil production will reach a million barrels per day. The increase of oil is also expected to help expand the FSR's role in the oil export markets.

1,000 NBAF Troops arrive on ABC Islands

1,000 additional Puertollanoan soldiers have arrived on the ABC Islands, local journalists report. The National Bolivarian Armed Forces of Puertollano, which invaded these islands and Il Desirdio in Operation Anti-Colonialism, have sent additional forces to support the troops already on the islands. This is the first time since that war that foreign soldiers have put their boots on the ground in what is now called the Federation of Nativist Islands. The thousand troops were equally dispersed amongst the island, and the Ministry for Anti-Imperialism has told the media that another two-hundred will be stationed on In Deserdio. Officially, however, Puertollano makes no distinction from these islands, but rather broadly categorises the ABC Islands and In Deserdio as the Federation of Nativist Islands. This action is seen as a direct pushback from the ruling made by the CSN, which dictated that the German-language news broadcaster/site Der Kapitalist was to be allowed to air on the FNI. Puertollano has disputed the fact that they have censored Der Kapitalist, but have claimed instead that the existing infrastructure on the islands are unable to accommodate the signal. High General Hugo Chavez said while walking to his car the other day commented on the issue, “Nobody wants to watch that shit anyway.”

Imperial Government doubles down on Ottoman Thrace

Image

The Imperial Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recently announced that Bulgarian Claims on Thrace will be pursued in respect only to the Lands of Thrace held by the Ottoman Government. The statement was in support to the National Assembly's vote earlier yesterday to call the 1913 Treaty of Constantinople which ended the Second Balkan War to be nullified and voided. The Tsar affirmed the National Assembly's vote. This is a sign that His Majesty's Government will protect Bulgarian Sovereignty even to the lands stolen from the nation a century ago and almost liberated during the Bulgarian-Ottoman War.

New Public Systems Finished in Nigeria

New highway passes right through Gbekebor, once a site of battle previously

WARRI - Nearly 7 months after the conclusion of the Nigerian Civil War, the The Australian Controlled Territory (TACT) has finally finished the rebuilding of several major highways between Warri-Benin City-Onitsha-Port Harcourt in a bid to establish a modern highway system modeled after the Australian interstate-highway system. With the finishing of road projects, the TACT government aims to conclusively find a solution to delayed shipments and deliveries of needed services and materials for ongoing relief operations in northern TACT area. The new highway systems in the protectorate will also improve the economic capacity of the rebuilding territory.Other than highway systems, the TACT is currently in the process of building two highway systems that will connect Western TACT with its northeastern areas, and plans are being finished for a new railroad system that will connect all major cities in the TACT.
Meanwhile in the mission to help increase food supplies in the TACT, the Australian Ministry of Agriculture has advanced the establishment of a separate agency to overlook the TACT's agricultural production, supply and distribution, the Warri Consolidate. The consolidate has already pushed for plans in the building of several connecting farm-market roads, construction of irrigation systems, and the acquisition of new farm machinery and technology. As of present, the TACT still relies on imports from Australia with estimated $1.20B worth of farm machinery, crops and aid coming in.

Zackarothian 2020 elections come to an end! Akram still High Leader but Abullah's party picks up major gains as High Councilors while ZPP holds steady.

The volatile and often extreme 2020 election has finally come to end. All of the votes have been counted in each state and the results have been finalized.] Nassaar Akram has kept his seat, winning over his rival, High Candidate Abdullah. Akram won with only a two point lead but it was a victory nonetheless. Many cite the increasingly warmongering rhetoric and actions as the previous High Leader for Abdullah's narrow defeat. However Akram cannot celebrate too much, as his party of the ZBP lost 2 of their seats and only gained 1. Currently his paryt is outnumbered in the High Councilorship, ensuring a harder 4th term to pass legislation through.

The Zackarothian People Party, the much more liberal party of Zackaroth, managed to gain 3 seats. The spilt between the ZBP and NGZ proved to be a massive boon in their favor after their loss in the 2016 election. The country has started going more left, with messages that seem to be resonating with the younger population. Gaining a massive number of young voters the ZPP seems to be headed towards a revival. The major issues they contended with was a reformation of Zackaroth's Criminal Rehabilitation Laws and same sex marriage(an issue that has been ignored and swept under the rug in recent years). Its expected they may field a High Leader Candidate in the next election.

However the New Zackarothian Guard benefited as well even though Abullah lost. They won in areas that where previously ZBP strongholds, campgaining on brining back the prosperity and peace that embraced the nation during Abullah's regin as High Leader. This is the first time in Zackarothian history that a third party has been able to grab seats on the High Council. Coalitions are allowed if more then two parties are present but at the current moment none of the parties are entertaining the idea. Adding in the High Leader position, all parties currently have 3 members on the council. Some experts are afraid this will gridlock Zackaroth in a way similar to Nigeria. Because of this its speculated that negations will soon begin to integrate the ZAC into Zackaroth, allowing an extra seat on the council to be a tie breaker.

Massive Demonstration in La Desirade takes place. Small Populace demands return to French Dominion.

In Beauséjour, one of two major settlements on the island of, La Desirade a massive demonstration took place, criticizing Puterollano for its current actions. It been clearly obvious that the populace does not wish to be apart of the South American nation nor return to the Italians, instead preferring to return to French rules. They made this extremely clear at a large demonstration that included nearly all of the islands 1,600 residents. The recent influx of "thousands" of Puertollans has severely damaged the island ecosystems, and has packed in too many in too small a space. The island only has two major towns so space quickly became an issue with the influx. The protesters pointed this out by various speeches. They closed out the speech by calling Castillo the same Imperialist he claims to be fighting by ignoring the will of the people.

CSN Report French efforts to end Slavery in certain African States

Around 2 years ago, the French unleashed mandate upon the African countries of Mauritania, Niger and Chad to end slavery within their nation or suffer the consequences of reduced aid to their nations. While all eyes have been focused on the events in Nigeria, a special CSN task force has been keeping an eye on the attempts of these nations to do so and has released their findings to the public.

Niger

Niger has made the most progress in removing slavery from its nation. The task force has esitmated the nation has been around 70-80% successful in its attempts to find and prosecute slavers as well as free slaves. Thanks to a heavy French presence due to the Nigerian Civil War and funding, the Niger Government has made large stride in reintergrating slaves into the society and making sure they are not living in squalor. However, the Nigerian Civil War has blunted some of that effort as refugees from northern Nigeria are stressing the system as many of them are also illiterate and have no work skills as well as the destruction of the Jiba Dam which is currently causing a massive drought in eastern Niger.

Chad

Chad unfortunately has only completed 5% of its goal to end slavery in the nation. Still one of the most corrupt countries on earth, little progress has been made as authorities try to use funds to capture slavers. However the problem is not as simple as some in the West believe. The poor conditions in Chad have forced many to give up their children in exchange for money to Arab-Berber herdsmen, who then take in their children as slaves. Child Slavery is the most prevalent kind of slavery within Chad and disturbing trends are now being noticed. Chad has always had an issue with rebels and anti-government groups but it has not exploded into full out civil war yet, more of a low scale insurgency.

However with the defeat of the ICN and an influx if refugees, remnants of the ICN that managed to skirt the French border blockade are now passing on their knowledge and leadership to the rebel groups within Chad. This may worsen the child slavery issue as child soliders are being spotted with increased frequency, and has several CSN experts worried if the ICN will be reborn the unstable state.

Mauritania

The country of Mauritania has done nothing to free slaves and actively flouts CSN and French mandates, claiming the people are not slaves but indentured servants by choice. More then 20% of the population are still slaves. North America intially was blockading the country the but that maneuver failed as other events quickly drew then away from the African nation. Disturbingly, its been purported former leaders of the ICN that did not manage to escape into Chad have been welcomed with open arms to Mauritania and being sheltered by the government, another spit in the eye of the International Community.

It remains to be seen if France acts on its ultimatum to the country with a population so adverse to engaging in another protracted war. Still yet, there are rumors of a minor slave revolt in South Eastern Mauritania. Details are extremely hard to come back and completely unreliable, but chants and language similar to the NSRA purported to have been NSRA. Whether this is the product of a NSRA attempted rebellion or simply inspired by the victory of the NSRA is currently impossible to tell.

Operation Emancipation continues

Following through on their commitment to honor the Sixth Republic's past actions, the Seventh Republic and French Confederation have moved to continue their efforts to eradicate slavery. Niger has been rewarded for their tremendous progress towards total eradication that all tariff and FDI barriers across the French dominions (market of 133.3 million+ consumers) to Niger exports have been removed with no obligation for reciprocity. The Republic will also escalate their assistance in terms of anti-extremism and subsidize arms sales to Niger. It is also understood that following negotiations with France's allies in the British Imperial Federation and the Nordic Federation that British and Scandinavian markets will also open to the country should they reach 95% enforcement.

The disappointing progress in Chad has seen the Confederation itself directly offer rewards for information surrounding the locations of the country's known slave traders. However, the country will not be punished as they are believed to have at least made some efforts; tariffs and FDI barriers will be reduced by one quarter. The French Confederation has also offered to deploy 20,000 troops supported by aircraft and armored vehicles in a military intervention against rebels, extremists, and terrorists who oppose the government of the country to strengthen the central government in the hope that this will make enforcement easier in the long term. The same offer is made to Niger.

The Republic has accepted the recent report's criticism that Mauritania's defiance has been allowed to persist due to the Nigerian Civil War diverting resources of the Franco-American coalition. However, this will not be permitted to continue. A Franco-British joint naval task force has been deployed to the coastline where only two years ago a NAF fleet had similarly been stationed, however this time the fleet has been instructed to turn back all ships attempting to export goods which may have been made using slave labor from the country. Aircraft launching from the fleet's aircraft carriers will fly at high altitude (above the rage of their SAMs) over the country and conduct reconnaissance and air raids against any known slave trading outposts. Furthermore all air traffic is to be diverted by air patrols.

OOC mention of IC action which is not announced publicly: Canadian special forces deploy covertly to Mauritania and supported by French Confederation assets such as satellites, stealth aircraft, drones, and vehicles begin to hunt down slave trade outposts and burn them to the ground after freeing the slaves. Those who are liberated will be trained and equipped to form a coalition-backed non-socialist emancipation movement.

Much ado about nothing: La Desirade

Op-Ed by Jose Vaquas

The people of La Desirade - or more officially called, the Federation of Nativist Islands - are sick and tired of the international games the imperialist powers are playing with them. Recent news was made when an anti-Puertollanoan rally was held in only one of the settlements on the small island, demanding immediate re-admittance into the French Confederation. The Bolivarian Republic has always held the strong stance on allowing peaceful, democratic transitions, and has recently applauded this display of civic unity, but however says the anger is towards the wrong entity. And it's true. The people of La Desirade have no enemy in the Bolivarian Republic, nor the rest of South America. For it was the Bolivarian Republic that was able to allow these people to decide their self-determination, rather than the corrupt elite on mainland Europe. Instead of attacking President Castillo for being 'imperialist' for de-colonising Latin American and the Caribbean, they should receive him and the Bolivarian Republic with open arms. It was Castillo, not the Italian Prime Minister, that is trying to give these people the vote. It is not Castillo attempting to hold back the vote, it is the Germanic Prime Minister.

Their demonstrations also displayed their determination to undo historical woes. That being, why land in the Caribbean was being bought and sold, as if the land or the people are their property. The French had no right to sell La Desirade in the first place, and the Italians had no right to purchase this land. It's this supremacist views that lead to discrimination, oppression and further denigration of South America and the Caribbean. The people of La Desirade are asking for their jurisdiction to remain what it was; French. Not under the control of Italian war criminals. President Castillo is on the same side as you, as everyone. All he wants is international peace, respect for human life and dignity. He wants the worlds aggressors to cease their provocations and respect the borders and sovereignty of other nations. He is your friend, La Desirade. He will respect your decision.

The latest news from the Nordic Federation, brought to you across the world
17 February, 2021

Nordic Elections Announce Results!
Today, the final results of the National Election were announced. There were some major upsets across the board for the Social Democratic Party, ending their supermajority in Parliament. However, they kept the Prime Ministry under their party, with Hammond's chosen successor Gerhard Batra taking the reigns of the nation. Batra has emphasized his goals of the Nordic Federation becoming a global power by expanding their role in and dialogue with the international community. Like his mentor, he is a strong advocate of European unity and international cooperation, but he does not share Hammonds' enigmatic, diplomatic demeanor. He has long been known as the "Shark of Parliament" leading aggressive tactics against opponents in Parliament, including long filibusters and a hardline voting record. He hails from Tromso, Norway, and is a favorite among party members. However, with a large conservative entrance into parliament, he may find trouble holding a more divided nation together. Major upsets in Jylland/Holstein, his home district of Tromso, and Vestlandet lead to the Conservatives nearly doubling their presence in the legislature.

Another major, but not surprising, upset came with the Finnish Minister General. Incumbent Luukas Elo lost the seat to the Finnish National Party's Eljas Karppinen, who ran his campaign attacking Elo for a passive role in the national government that was letting the national government subvert the Finnish legislature's power. Karppinen is a hardliner, just like Batra, but with much more Conservative leanings. Election experts are saying that the next 6 years could be ridden with strife among the national legislature, especially between the Finns and the Nordic Provinces.

One upside for the Social Dems was Greenland electing all three, two from their parliament and one by general election, seats to the national legislature as Social Dems, with Svalbard's three members following suit. Both of these regions were expected to go conservative at the beginning of the election cycle, but large amounts of social spending and immigration from the mainland seem to have shifted the tides.

Greenlandic and Railway Infrastructure
The National Railway Initiative which was started almost 4 years ago now has reached its first goal point. The Railway has now connected to over 10 new destinations, and has a mainline running from the border with the UDCS to Copenhagen, Oslo, Gothenburg, Stockholm, and Helsinki onto St. Petersburg. The connectivity this high-speed passenger and freight line will provide is unprecedented. Many say that it could be a key factor in fighting against the division in the national government, with it now being possible for people to live in Stockholm and work in Helsinki, even having meetings in Berlin or St. Petersburg during the day.

To complement this infrastructure, the government has given Scandinavian Airlines another stimulus package to connect many of the smaller regional airports that were commissioned by the national government and are starting to near completion. The airline has stated it will use the funds to acquire even more aircraft, and will begin to transfer operations to the new unified Stockholm Airport, whose completion is expected later this year.

In Greenland, the shipping routes planned for the oil drilling off the islands shore have lead the national government to give the green light to the construction of a massive port complex at the southern tip of Greenland. The complex will be built in Nanortalik and expand the existing port there, which currently serves as a stopover for oil shipments from the North that are heading onward to France or the Nordic Federation. The government has also said that it might consider making the port a special customs zone to allow for it to be used as a cargo hub for trans-atlantic shipping, or choose to undergo customs at the port so that shipments may be made from the port 'domestically' to Europe.

Oil Revenues Further Bolster Economy
Image

StatOil has reported yet another massive increase in revenue due to expanded drilling and the completion of two hydroelectric projects in Norway. They are now the 7th largest oil company in the world by revenue, surpassing Britain's BP with 223.6 billion USD in revenue for fiscal 2020. It is the 8th largest energy company by market capitalization, behind Sinopec with 92 billion USD in market cap.

The central government says that it will be devoting much of the additional income to new social programs and the continued expansion of infrastructure and the energy company itself. These social programs will include the continued work on the railway project, highway improvements, and investment in Africa.

The Nordic Federation Pledges Cooperation with the Seventh Republic in Africa
Charles Hammonds last major act in office in early February was to reach an agreement of cooperation with France in order to end slavery in Africa. The republic has begun a multilateral initiative to completely eradicate slavery from the continent, and the Nordic Federation will be assisting them wherever it can. PM Elect Batra has already announced intentions to hold a conference in Accra with the leaders of many West African countries to which the Nords have past relations with in order to discuss possible courses of action in order to eliminate slavery completely. The outgoing parliament also signed Act I-138 into law at the end of their legislative section, outlining just what Nordic support and inducements for the African nations might look like.

Parliamentary International Resolution §I-138

ACKNOWLEDGING a condemnation to all slavery of persons on the planet, and the Nordic Federations intention to help combat the institution,

ESTABLISHING the context to provide trade sanctions and freedom from tariffs for nations that endorse or work to eradicate slavery,

THIS PARLIAMENT hereby enacts PARLIAMENTARY INTERNATIONAL RESOLUTION 138
"Eradicating Slavery in the African Continent"

Section I.
a. The Nordic Federation will lift tariffs on all goods, excepting oil and other energy products, to African sovereign states that are willing to assist in the eradication of slavery
b. The Nordic Federation will establish strict trade sanctions, up to and including a total embargo, on countries who allow slavery to continue within their borders

Section II.
a. This bill defines a state 'willing to assist' as one who has taken deliberate action to eradicate slavery within their borders and/or cooperates with foreign powers to the same end
b. This bill defines a state 'which allows slavery' as those who continue to exports goods knowingly produced by slave labor and/or sponsoring institutions that use slaves at an institutional level. A government who refuses any measures to eradicate slavery which it knows to exist and/or that conceals the practice of slavery within its borders from the international community also falls into this category.

Hours after TeleSur defends Castillo, Der Kapitalist exposes him for not complying with CSN legislation forcing freedom of press!

While just hours ago TeleSur defended their employer, the Puertollanon government, of not being the enemy of the occupied Caribbean islands. Castillo took less than 12 hours to prove otherwise.

Der Kapitalist released a statement earlier today detailing that entry into the ABC islands had been denied yet again, even though the CSN recently passed legislation commanding Puertollano to allow freedom of press on the islands.

Unsurprisingly you don't have to look very hard to see why they wouldn't want to allow freedom of press. Currently the only news organization allowed on the islands are TeleSur. Which as we mentioned earlier is joint property of the FSR and Puertollanon governments. Puertollano seeks to use this mouthpiece to influence the referendum in their favor. No wonder PM Müller wants to delay it.

Finally Müller made these remarks when addressed by the press about the issue.

Reporter-"What are your thoughts on the recent developments on the ABC islands referendum?"

Müller-"Well it's simple. Castillo has proved the fears of La Desirade. He is no anti-imperialist and is just as imperialistic as any other major European power. Furthermore he doesn't value the people on these islands. The only thing he cares about are brainwashing them against Europe in his insane crusade against the European powers. All and all Castillo is nothing short of the worst leader Puertollano has ever seen."
Call me Greg (my IRL name) or UDCS. Whichever works best for you.

"[28] He said to them: 'You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean.' "

The Regime of Manipulators: Castillo's Puertollano

An amusing article recently released by TeleSur, Castillo's propaganda machine, made a shoddy, second-rate attempt to manipulate the native French-speaking and French-identifying people of the beautiful French island of La Désirade into believing that the shameless, vulgar Puertollanoan regime is acting in the interests of the French people of the island by conquering its green shores and dumping complete strangers from the south on the close-knit native French community of the island, leaving it overpopulated and overwhelmed.

This abhorrent form of subtle ethnic cleansing has left the true folk of the island desperate to be reunited with mother France. They are left with no choice but to protest in a cry for help to the international community. The TeleSur propaganda machine responds with another manipulative harangue preaching its 'appreciation' of the cries for help of the patriots of La Désirade and the regimes support of the 'democratic process' while completely brushing aside the entire reason behind their cries for help- the poor souls are being overcrowded and will gradually be bred out of the gene pool of the picturesque island in the ethnic cleansing program of Castillo's wicked imperialistic regime.

We here at Rai hope that the brave patriots of La Désirade will be able to be reunited with their motherland of France. Unfortunately, however, we are not able to get our message of support to the folks in La Désirade due to the media censorship agenda in place on the island, enforced by Castillo's imperial regime which will only permit the TeleSur propaganda machine to broadcast to the island despite preaching its love of the 'democratic process'.

Castillo responds to European media; French PM invited to Bogota

President Castillo held an emergency press conference in the official Presidential residence today by his own orders. In it, President Castillo spoke in relation to the heating tensions in La Desirade and invited the new French Prime Minister to engage in diplomatic talks in Bogota as soon as possible.

They have let the hounds at on us - they're not far from attacking us and our homeland. Before they can strike, they attempt to manufacture consent back home, portraying the peace-loving Bolivarian Republic as this militarist state. Wrong. In no way whatsoever have we ever disregarded the lives of the people in the Caribbean or elsewhere. We liberated the islands in order to preserve the main tenants of democracy and self-determination, for in the eyes of the international Empire, this is a imperialist crime. To trick you, my friends, my brothers and sisters, they use our wording to frame us of a crime we never committed. 'You're the imperialist!', they say. We know that this is baseless, vile propaganda that is broadcasted from Berlin and Milan, the capitals of crime and despotism. That's why you cannot trust what their hounds have to say. The hounds of the imperialist media, Der Kapitalist especially included, operate in subterfuge. I will not allow European subterfuge to undermine the democratic efforts in the Federation of Nativist Islands. They are imperialist insiders, they are operatives and they will most certainly not operate off our coast! My theory has only been further proven recently. An Italian article that caught my attention. These white supremacist colonialists in Italy are concerned they we are 'breeding them out of the gene pool' to use their words. They warn that what we are committing, allowing Puertollanoan civilians to gain work and living visas to boost the economy of the island is a 'subtle ethnic cleansing'. You should be shamed, Italy, Germany. You have been exposed for what you really are. Violent, imperialist xenophobes with little regard for international norm, pushing an agenda of white nationalism. If you believe inter-racial breeding is gradual ethnic cleaning, than you're a racist. It's as simple as that, and South America and the Caribbean have zero tolerance for that. Leave the Caribbean people alone, for we are all brothers here in Latin America.

To spur diplomatic discussion, I invite the new French Prime Minister to come to Bogota. I will not yield on allowing neo-Nazis to the Bolivarian Republic and her allies, but we can consider some of the less trivial issues.

The latest news from the Nordic Federation, brought to you across the world
19 February, 2021

Image
Sarek Initiative
The Nordic Energy Authority announced today a comprehensive plan for renewable energy in the Nordic Federation. The plan mostly focuses on hydroelectric and wind power, and is named after the famous Lapland park in Northern Sweden. The NEA states that their goal is to have 70% of end user's energy coming from renewable sources by the end of the decade. In some provinces of the Federation, this goal has already been reached, with Norway having the highest renewables rate at 67.5%. The NEA plans to construct brand new hydroelectric facilities in Finnmark, Swedish Lapland, and Finnish Lapland, with brand new wind turbines across the Danish Jutland. Denmark has the highest potential wind energy in the world, with Northern Scandinavia being one of the highest potential areas for hydroelectric power, a fact the government has emphasized heavily in the plan which contributes to its feasibility.

Many are concerned that the effort runs against the government's current efforts to ramp up oil production across the Federation, however, the leader of the Green party commented on the issue saying "Oil is an important part of the national economy, but there's no reason we can't profit off of its export and use it minimally within our own borders." Statoil will be contracted to construct and operate many of the dams and reservoirs in the North of the country, while the Danish wind turbines are going to be constructed by Vestas, who is the world's largest wind turbine company.

Outgoing PM Hammonds commented on the project saying that "it is an important step in being more accountable for our energy use, as well as offsetting the emissions we are putting in the air with our oil... it's a good counterbalance that might very well save the planet."

Image
Nanortalik Polar Free Port Zone (NPFPZ)
As planned by the government, the newly commissioned port of Nanortalik is now confirmed to become a special customs and free trade area within the Nordic Federation. The port's position on the Southern tip of Greenland, being open all year round, will allow it to be an important stopover port for trans-atlantic shipping traffic. Parliament has outlined specific guidelines that will allow the port to be used for two main purposes: transshipping and imports to the DEU and NF.

The designation as a free port zone will allow cargo traffic coming into the port to either not go through customs at all- allowing it to be shipped from the port to somewhere else with the greatest ease possible- or, processed through DEU customs before it ever reaches the European continent.

The shipping company Maersk has signed a memorandum of understanding with the government in order to route much of their trans-atlantic traffic through the port, and many other shipping companies that are European based are expected to follow suit.

Image
Accra Summit
Nordic Foreign Minister Philip Ekström flew to Accra today to meet with the President of Ghana today. Ghana will be an important first step in the project to end slavery in Africa, given its close previous ties to the Nordic Federation. Though the country is 'better off' compared to many of its counterparts, Ghana still has a huge problem with child slavery. The Nordic and Ghanian governments started talks over what could be done to combat the issue, with everything from increased border security on land, and at airports and seaports, to social welfare programs being discussed.

Though the political situation in Nigeria is volatile, the Foreign Minister is also expected to make a trip to Nigeria to discuss possible inroads for international collaboration there, going on to many other West African nations after that.

The people of the Nordic Federation are supporting this project so far, but a recent poll said that 58% of residents do not support the dedication of extensive resources to the project, with many saying they see it as interference in African political affairs that should be taken care of from a distance rather than on the ground. However, PM Elect Batra has stated that the project of ending slavery is "a top priority" that will receive "extensive review from the national government and support of several branches and agencies if necessary."

Canada to invest in Nigeria?
February 21st, 2021

Following the end of the war, Canadian construction companies, and a series of industrial and agricultural industries have flooded into Nigeria, offering to expand agriculture communities, construct dams, infrastructure, homes, hospitals and clinics, schools, and factories in Nigeria to help them rebuild and clean up from after the war, to provide them with jobs, food, and a future for the African nation. "Nigeria will not reconstruct itself," commented Leonard Travis, CEO of Canadian Builders, a Canadian Construction Company, "however Canada has the means to help rebuild Nigeria, and by doing so will be mutually beneficial both for Canada and the rest of the Federation, and also Nigeria. It will give them a future and us the means to fund this project." He concluded. Thus far the Canadian Construction industries and other businesses involved have created temporary jobs for local Nigerians, paying them about as much money as a Canadian would earn doing the same jobs. Volunteer teachers are being sent to help Nigerians become more literate, how to speak English, and other basic academia. Until then the North American Army in the region will provide other services to civilians ie health services and security.

North American Federation on the ABC Islands: Calls in defense of Freedom of Press!
February 18th, 2021
Have you ever met someone whose so stuck in the clouds of their own ideas that the moment they're exposed to an alternate opinion they move sharply in defense of their ideology, yet lack any ability to defend their beliefs and typically resort to name-calling? This is what the people of the ABC islands will become if Puertollano decides to continue to deny Der Kapitalist and other alternative sources from sharing their opinions on said island. It is a truly terrifying concept, about as horrifying as an idiocracy or an Orwellian type of dystopia especially when you consider both can be caused by whoever controls the news media, therefore, information.

Recently, the North American Federation has issued a diplomatic protest to Puertollano's refusal to open up freedom of press to the ABC Islands, calling it a blatant violation of the people's access to information, and the general media. If the Puertollanoans most truly are better than the "Imperialist" Europeans as they claim to be, then perhaps they should let Der Kapitalist bring their news and help fund infrastructure on the island.

The best way to make a nation ideologically weak and built off of pathos; emotion, not off of logic or reason, is to not expose them to opposing ideas. Simply put, it's pure indoctrination to turn a people against another people used by certain dictatorships, take for example, Nazi Germany; they spread their ideas through pseudo sciences and mostly through emotion, not through logic, not through morality, not through reason. By exposing them to opposing ideas and by being capable of proving them wrong in civil discourse, you make them ideologically strong and you create a society in which morality, logic and reason can come into play, and thus enable society to flourish.

"Puertollano refusing to let Der Kapitalist to spread their news and their ideas to ABC islands without any real reasoning provided, is a double edged sword that only strikes themselves twice and completely misses the Germans. They offered to not only build infrastructure, which is a given that it'll be under Puertollanoan observation given they're the ones occupying the island, but they've also offered Der Kapitalist, a source that if it is biased and untrustworthy, surely can be called out by TeleSUR and thus prove to the people of the ABC Islands that they [The administration of Puertollano] is correct about the Europeans at least in one way or another." Stated Colten Flipse, a North American Sociologist and member of the North American Social Democratic Party.

Mauritania: The Next Nigeria?

The nation of Mauritania is once again back in the international spotlight as a joint effort between France and Britain goes forward to once again blockade the country and cut it off from trade once more. In additon to that, bombing runs have begun on slave trading outposts within the nation. President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz has this to say about the situation "Once again we are under attack from the French Jew. Not only that we are also under attack from the Socialist Jew. Their war has now come to the last bastion of true Islam in the world. We will not fall however, we shall not waiver in our faith. There is no slavery in Mauritania. These people are merely workers or indentured servants. France and its allies are killing hard working people, people of Islam. I say to everyone in the nation: Remain strong and resist. We have defeated the Western Devils before and we will do so again!"

Worryingly, it seems a Nigeria type situation is developing on opposite ends of the country. In the south, the slave revolt has turned into a full on rebellion as better equipped and better trained rebels have overwhelmed the small town of Bassikounou and seem to be spreading westward. These rebels seem to exposing the ideas similar to the NSR, with reported slogans and chants similar to what was seen in Lagos during the early days of the Nigerian Civil War. Its also been reported that the flags of the FSR, Puertollano and the NSR have been seen.

In the north a different type of slave rebellion has taken place. The town of Bir Moghrein has fallen to this rebellion, equally trained and equipped with weaponry that should be beyond their reach. They are exposing the downfall of the Islamic Regime of Mauritania and are focused on ending slavery as well as overthrowing the government to install a true democracy. Its been reported some have been speaking French and actively using the language. While French is an offical language of the nation, it not commonly used and is the north is quickly becoming the language of "the freed people"

Both groups seem unaware of each other at the moment and are instead focusing on expanding their infuelence to other towns and cities in the the area, with an eventual push towards the capital. The government is responding however, sending two 500 man forces towards both rebellions. The CSN speculates that both rebellions are being funded and trained by opposite and far more powerful parties and are advising caution in starting a new proxy war.

The news that Mauritanian rebels were receiving expensive foreign-produced weapons and flying South American colors did not go unnoticed in Paris. Detente had died a premature death.

French-occupied Nigeria

The direct order came straight from Paris. The socialists had crossed the French Confederation's red line, and now they would pay the price. The FSR had shirked under fire and abandoned much of Nigeria to the ICN, withdrawing to hide behind their pawns in the NSRA. It had been left to France to clean up the mess. Now, the South Americans would have no choice but to face the ICN - without France to do the heavy lifting.

The ICN fighters had tried to flee as French troops advanced from the north. They had been driven to the borders, and gone underground. However, their attempts to expand their terror beyond Nigeria had been curbed as France had escalated their campaign. But now that the detente had been broken, the Confederation no longer saw any benefit to their efforts of military quarantine. And so from this moment, ICN forces may flee from PSAN territory into the NSRA without any harassment from French forces. Efforts to control the flow of arms towards those areas are relaxed (including SAMs and explosives), discovery of ICN cells near the border no longer warrant extermination, and rather than incarceration ICN insurgents captured are transferred to near the border and released on bail. Elsewhere the counterinsurgency efforts continue, driving them towards the border, but from today the socialists will have to confront what they have been proven to fear without the help of the French - a resurgent ICN at their doorstep.

Mauritania

The Seventh Republic did not want another war, and the possibility of Mauritania escalating into a crisis as was experienced in Nigeria could not be permitted. However while Nigeria had taken place faraway, Mauritania posed a direct threat to the national security of the Dominion of Algeria. As such, while support for intervention in France and Indochina was low, in Algeria it enjoyed a sizable majority. Consequently, just as the civil war in Orbanis had allowed for French Indochinese Federation independent action, Algeria is also granted its own independent right to act accordingly. The Algerian air forces set about establishing uncontested air superiority, and the military forces muster along the Mauritanian border. Meanwhile, Confederation forces based in Mali since 2016 launch a surprise offensive against the socialist stronghold in Bassikounou to remove the rebel forces before they can grow into any sort of organised force. 12,000 men supported by 45 tanks, 50 AFVs, 20 attack helicopters and protected by fifth-generation fighters make the 30 mile journey under the cover of darkness.

PM Batra Authorizes Military Action in Nigeria
Babana, Nigeria, Nordic Occupation Coordination Center
In response to the actions of both the FSR and France, the PM has authorized the occupying forces in Nigeria to take action to 'contain' the situation as best they can. PM Batra made a scathing statement directed at the FSR as well. Foreign Minister Philip Ekström canceled his upcoming visit to Abuja in favor of heading to Porto Novo, Benin to smooth over diplomatic relations with the government of the West African nation as the Nordic military continues to operate within their borders. The governments of both Ghana and Benin have continued to let Nordic forces operate from established Nordic bases left over from the Nigerian civil war. Ghana has been the most accommodating of the two countries, with Benin approaching the situation with begrudging agreement.

3 detachments of 200 men each moved from the forward operating base in Babana to secure the border with Benin, as well as an extra detachment along the border with the NRSA. The government stated that this was in an effort to contain the socialists within their own borders and make sure they do not 'incur an inch into Nigerian territory.' Four destroyers were also ordered from their base in Accra to resume their patrol of the Nigerian coast, the government says it is "considering halting the flow of civilian naval traffic into the harbor of Lagos" but has not yet done so. Additionally, the government has halted all passenger traffic by air or sea from Nigeria into the Nordic Federation. Truly, this is a blockade against the people of Socialist Nigeria in all but name.

Prime Minister Batra had some choice words for the situation in both Nigeria and Mauretania this afternoon,

"The FSR has long been meddling in the African continent, which might sound ironic if it were not exactly the truth. These South American Socialists are trying to spread their ideals through revolution beyond their own borders, and while I respect the patience Nordic allies have had for their dogma and contagious ways, I am not sure I share it. The Nordic Federation strongly condemns the support for the revolutionaries in Southern Mauretania. It is downright wrong to obstruct an international anti-slavery campaign in the name of spreading ideology, which is exactly what happened in Nigeria. I urge the leaders of the FSR to hear me when I say: Africa is not yours. If the FSR does not retract their support in Mauretania, there will be a trade embargo placed on the FSR and the NRSA, and occupying forces in Nigeria will have no choice but to contain the country forcefully."

BACK IN 1983

The people of Mauritania are in revolution. On one side the bourgeois rebels, on the other the Socialiss, and against both the government of the country. The Federation has been accused by European news outlets of seeking to expand its influence by force. This is not just easily proven wrong, it is a complete and utter fabrication. By branding the socialist rebels - in favor of real democracy - as Federation puppets, they are preparing for later intervention against them. In reality, the rebellion is largely autonomous. The Federation has not even begun directly supplying aid, as opposed to the European powers which have seen fit to jump into foreign countries as soon as the first word of a group in favor of their interests finds the German and French leaders. The rebellion of the Mauritanian people is a popular one, and a socialist one. Only the socialist system can free the workers of Mauritania from chattel slavery and wage slavery.

NEW WORDS, SAME TACTICS

Imperialism now threatens Nigeria once again. The foreign occupied Nigerian puppet states are threatening to cut off sea traffic to and from Lagos, and are massing troops on the border. An official statement by the FSR has affirmed that any foreign invasion of the Nigerian Socialist Republic will be considered an act of war. Two Federation destroyers are currently docked in Lagos, and any attempt to blockade the port will likely prompt the Federation navy in cooperation with the NSR to break the blockade, by force. The motions towards war by the European powers in Africa have emboldened Communist Party interventionists in the Federation, and reinforce the idea that the FSR can only survive with an aggressive foreign policy.

“It is difficult for me to imagine what “personal liberty” is enjoyed by an unemployed hungry person. True freedom can only be where there is no exploitation and oppression of one person by another; where there is not unemployment, and where a person is not living in fear of losing his job, his home and his bread. 'Der Kapitalist' allowed station on Aruba, under strict conditions

A matter that made its' way through the international Council of Sovereign States, the Bolivarian Republic has finally conceded in allowing the German-news service 'Der Kapitalist' to broadcast to the ABC Islands. An empty plot of land has been vacated for the news service on the island of Aruba, but there are some notable features. The land allotted to them is, according to locals on Aruba, almost ten times as small as the TeleSur HQ. Official regulators have also warned that significant ground-work will need to be done before construction begins, as the sandy terrain is not suitable for construction as of yet. The price tag and time that will be needed to stabilise the sediment on the ground, with some estimates predicting a process that will take nearly two years. However, the restrictions on the operations are not limited to this. This is a complete ban on advertisement or signage around the Federation of Nativist Islands promoting 'Der Kapitalist', which was decided by the Puertollanoan Consumer Commission. This includes any signage on the building itself. The HQ of the building, once completed according to proper standards, will be subject to weekly inspections by the Puertollanoan Armed Forces and all journalists and other workers in the station will be subject to frequent stop and frisk orders. This addition was especially added by the President, who has previously worried that the German news broadcaster would work in subterfuge against the Bolivarian Republic. Since it is under the jurisdiction of the Puertollanoan Government, Der Kapitalist is required by law to air Castillo's weekly address to the nation in full and without interruption and to pay a 99.9% tax rate on all revenue made. The final nail in the coffin comes from the Puertollanoan Television and Media Watchdog, which has ordered Der Kapitalist to only broadcast its' message during the off-peak hours between 11pm and 3am.

Zackarothian High Leader awarded 'Order of the Liberator'

Recently re-elected High Leader of Akram was awarded the Order of the Liberator/Order of Bolivar by President Castillo when the leader arrivted to the Bolivarian Republic. The President pinned the Order of the Liberator to the High Leader's suit in a live television broadcast to the entire nation. Akram has been the first world leader to have been awarded the Order of the Liberator, and the award is an honour for those who 'uphold the ideals of sovereignty and anti-imperialism'. This notifies a peak in Puertollanoan-Zackarothian relations and both of the leaders are hoping to keep it that way. After awarding the High Leader with the honour, both leaders met in numerous meeting to discuss foreign affairs and the future of bilateral relations. As of now, Zackaroth is offering all Puertollanoan dual-citizens on La Desirade work visas and tax credit for the first year if the decide to emigrate to the Zackarothian African Commonwealth. Puertollano has in turn been given a 5% higher share in the ZAC to further development of the region and investment. Further, an extra two year extention has been added to Puertollano's and Zackaroth's agreement to not compete in selling oil in each other's oil sectors in the world. Zackaroth has also offered to hold meetings between France and Puertollano over the future of La Desirade.

Mauritania Socialist rebellion in Bassikounou crushed

French and allied forces crushed the budding socialist rebellion in Bassikounou. Only days removed from outsting the local Maurtania government, the French forces quickly responded and overwhelmed the city of only 400 defenders. Though heavily armed but not well trained, the small rebellion was neatly destroyed in the ensuing battle. However, while the Coalition powers may not have taken any substantial loss, it seems the Socalist Powers are attempting to make them pay a PR hit.

Video footage was released of the short but intense battle. Coalition forces are seen completely overwhelming the former slaves. The socialists quickly surrendered in the surprise attack and footage of the POWs is also shown, framing it in such a way it looks like the Coalition is forcing them back into slavery. The video is quickly becoming viral on the internet, making it seem like the Western Powers don't really care about the slavery issue in Mauritania and only care about stopping the FSR and ensuring their own foothold in Africa.

This has given life to the other socialist backed slave rebellions current occurring Timbedra and the other surrounding cities and towns. Once again it seems like have arms from the NSR have somehow ended up in the rebelling slave's hands but in much less numbers this time. The 500 government force sent to confront the slaves has instead retreated, moving away from the French Forces and attempting to secure the capital.

ICN lives again

The ICN has made a devastating comeback for unknown reasons. The attacks seems to be concentrated on the borders of the NSRA, with random shootings, truck attacks and suicide bombings occurring. The resurgent ICN is hiding within the jungles of the southern Nigeria and launching small scale terror attacks. However there is evidence that this is spreading. ICN terrorists have been reported to be attempting terrorist attacks in the Australian governed region of Nigeria, TACT, with one reported attack being a attempted truck bombing in a refugee and medical center in Warri. In Benin, the country bordering Nigeria, an suspected ICN supporter opened fire in a Christian Schoo in Porto Nova , killing 15 before being killed by police. Its unknown what is causing this recent upsurge in ICN related and inspired attacks but it is becoming a serious concern.

The group was thought to have been defeated and only existed in small pockets, possibly trying to reform in Chad. However, this version of the ICN seems less interested in dominating land and instead causing chaos. It suspected that these are in fact different cells of the ICN and they have almost no cohesion with each other. They seem to be attacking at random and have no goal in mind. Worryingly, some of the more organized bands have weapons that range from Zackarothian made to Russian made, making it seem like they are being funded by an outside group.

Resurgent ICN Appears Out of the Blue

Today, conflict with ICN forces was reported along the PSAN border. Shootings, truck attacks, and suicide bombings started to suddenly appear en masse in the normally quiet border. The fighting led to eighty NSR border guards being wounded and four deaths. On the other hand, the ICN suffered a hundred deaths, and likely many more casualties. Soon after the initial reports, army and counter-terrorism units were brought in to safeguard against future ICN attacks. Luckily, as of yet, the ICN threat is entirely contained at the borders, though some fear that its inevitable that some ICN insurgents would slip past the patrols.

While the NSR-PSAN border had the highest intensity of ICN attacks the ICN has also been spreading to other countries. In the TACT there was an attempted truck bombing in a Warri medical center, while in Benin a school shooting in Porto Nova resulted in the deaths of 15 students. In response, the NSR has greatly heightened border security with the two countries, to the point where it somewhat resembles the NSR-PSAN border.

Why the ICN suddenly became such a major threat again puzzled many international observers. Following the attack on Porto Nova, the NSR and FSR have launched an investigation to try to figure out what caused the sudden ICN influx. The ICN influx came right after the Nordic Federation threatened the NSR, leading to some conspiracy theories that the Nordic Federation was responsible for the ICN outbreak. However, such claims have been met with much skepticism from other theories as well as international observers.
