The brigades are composed of citizen volunteers, aided by paramilitary officers of our FKSS. They have all been trained by the officers, and have completed their mandatory service in the military. These brigades, in particular, come from Northern Leskya, and, as such, possess hunting and scouting experience, due to the high rate of hunting in the area and its mountainous and forest-covered terrain. They have also trained during the harsh Leskyan winter, and should be equipped well for most temperate and tundra terrains.

I wish to thank you whole-heartedly for the sacrifices that you have made for the cause, and the sacrifices that you will undoubtably make in the future.

The time to strike has come, and with our expedition to the isles of Epoñama, we have decided that it is up to us to bring the fight to the counterrevolutionaries, the capitalists and the reactionaries across the globe. We will fight on every last inch that the ISVC will send us to, hoping that this honour will be returned to us, the hardworking Australian peoples waiting for their eventual liberation.

Every day workers die in the French factories, starve on the French streets and cry in French churches; no longer will we accept this. This is why the Internationalist Republican Legionary Forces of the Australs, (shortened to IRLFA) and the Communist Party of the Australs (CPA) have decided to call upon their comrades, both free and also still in chains, to repel the bloodsucking imperialists on a global level. In an attachement to this letter, the IRLFA has sent you a detailed overview of the taskforce we've prepared to send overseas to join the corps. It is important to us that you know that we are able and willing to fight the hardest of battles in the darkest of nights. We are communists, and we will uphold the ideals and the flag until the very last man.

The soldiers are extremely anti-french, and would enjoy not being around any Frenchmen regardless of their ideological backgrounds. They're a bit sensitive to units of other races, as their communities mostly consist of immigrants from the British isles, and small Jewish minorities. Most troops have never seen non-Europeans, and the Jews that they know aren't semites; they're simple, eastern-European jews who came to Australia during the Diaspora.

The legionaries fight very hard, because most troops are extremely young and fiercely communist. They compensate what they lack in experience in sheer brutality and force. Their outdated equipment is disappointing, but the legionaries work their way around their FALs and AK-47s, trying to master their unique mechanisms.

Commandant Barrand is a brilliant example of an English proletarian. He's experienced, conscious, compassionate and jovial, but when it comes to the advancement of socialism and the benefit that his people might reap from the red crops of communism he's stone cold and dead serious. He strongly believes in the cause, and is an ex-Strelki (heavy infantry) commander who narrowly avoided death sentences for what members of the old guard perceived as treason. He also hates the French and led many partisan operations back home, which partially brought the Australais government to its knees, so far so to the point that the government had to make concessions to grant the British settlers some form of political autonomy.

lieutenant-Commander Liebman is an Australais jew. His family came from the Germany city of Breslau, now Wroclaw, shortly after the Nuremberg laws in 1938. His grandparents settled in Australia, and because of the dismissive view against Jewish immigrants, his family was basically "dumped" with the Welsh and English. His family was distrusted at first, but the Jews eventually managed to fit into the British societies of terre Australes, and many Jewish children also adapted the ideological backgrounds of their neighbourhoods. Isaiah is a good example of this fine integration. He's not as brave and cunning as the commandant, but he's ready and able to die for his people, and will not hesitate to do everything he can to advance the ideals of communism.

The Black Party, although led by a Third Position Authoritarian Council, is widely diverse in political alignments and sympathy. As a result, by the approval of the governing body of The Black Party, the Federal Police agreed to deploy a legion of 3,000 to the ISVC in support of their socialist operations.

The Black Party is often criticized for having a weak, poor standing military, but as it's leaders have quoted in the past; "If we were ever to fight a war, we'd fight it with policemen." The Black Party often uses its highly trained police force in military operations, substituting out the less combat effective "Schwarzwaffe" whenever possible. As a result, The Black Party's police forces are highly trained, well disciplined, and more combat effective then the conventional military. However, it should not be forgotten that these operators are still trained primarily in police roles, and would be more effective as such.

Some volunteers may or may not have been drawn from the radical terrorist group, Left-Wing Aktion Front. We implore the ISVC to keep this information confidential; leaking of this information may force The Black Party to recall all foreign divisions.

I'm sorry. Can you explain more about how your nation is Socialist or Marxist? Reading your factbook, the Black Party seems to mirror the RL Nazi Party of Germany. Nothing about your nation seems to speak Socialist to me whatsoever. We're getting a lot of fascist overtones.

I was under the impression from reading the FAQ that nations did not have to be entirely socialist to join the ISVC. We have many socialist citizens, so I didn't think that would be a problem. The Black Party only mirrors the Nazi Party in appearance because of our history. We don't necessarily follow National Socialism in practice, have no racial policy, and fought as an ally in World War II.

Why aren't you applying with the Left-Wing Aktion Front, Centre-State Vice, or even Worker-Troops Party?

Because I want The Black Party to officially support the ISVC with military support, and not some fringe political group. The main article I'm working on for LWAF is also incomplete.

Fallen Isles - A group of four hilly islands off the coast of the Kingdom of Frankenlisch. A land of hardy miners and livestock farmers, many of whom hold left-wing sentiments. The 1st Fallen Isles Company of Rifles is led by Captain Dai Faulkner and is made up mainly of coal miners from the island of Karanante, it is made up of 300 men. 250 of these men are regulars and 50 are designated engineers. Due to their profession, these men are strong and capable at most engineering.
Erin - A large county in the centre of Vionna. Notable for its expansive farming industry and a solid mix of left and right wing politics. The 1st Erin Company of Rifles is led by Captain Niamh O'Rourke and is made up mainly of farm workers, it is made up of 300 men. 250 of these men are regulars and 50 are designated engineers. Frankenlisch - The capital city of Vionna-Frankenlisch and the largest settlement in Magna Europa. The Frankenlisch Socialist Veteran's Association is a group of veteran officers of the old Vionnan Red Army (1967-80), they number twenty-one with former Brigade-General Martin Evans as their unofficial leader. The FSVA act as military advisors. They are capable of providing military leadership, organisational support and can train forces in conventional and (limited) irregular warfare. Finding his ideas of spreading socialism unacceptable in the other parts of the Monarchy, he left the country with another ex-military officer Luna Lewis and a small band of socialists of different cultures/ethnicities, finding themselves deployed in troublesome areas. Official contingent of your Nation or is this an unofficial volunteer force?: It's an unofficial "observation attache group", due to legislative loopholes and a sizable stack of signed Official Secrets Act papers. It's existence is unknown to the general public... for now.

Commander of force: Brigadier-General Floyd Lindstrom (Imperial Marines). Aged 40, with a solid twenty years in the service. Committed socialist (although forbidden from expressing his sentiment due to strict impartiality laws that all governmental employees must adhere to). Married to a wife of 15 years, with one boy.
Second in Command: Lieutenant-Colonel Riley Hammond (Imperial Air Force). Aged 36, with twenty years in the service. Politically centrist; leans a bit to the left. She sees this as an opportunity to gain some medals and experience, as well as to curry some favor with the brass. Unmarried; has three siblings in the IAF as well. Relatively kind and caring.

Post-Captain Yun Hai- A second-generation Chinese-Mersidonian from the coastal town of Kokoa. Served in the Imperial Navy as the captain of the HMIS Thresher, a battlecruiser. He's openly gay, and was the first person to come out in the service. Notably, he has been awarded the Distinguished Service Order for helping shuttle over 80,000 refugees overseas to safety onboard his command.
Colonel Oliver Latham- A man who grew up in the Empire's most exclusive aristocratic and social circles, he commands great respect from his officers and bemusement from the enlisted men under his command. He's considered a tad young for his rank, at the ripe age of 30, but he graduated top of his class at the Imperial Officer Academy in the capital. Afterwards, he served with the Imperial Engineers and Artillery as a staff officer. He is married with two kids.
Lieutenant Hans Kukio'mo'ole- A rising star in his home region of Kokoa and in the Imperial military at large, he graduated from the Imperial University at 15 with a degree in metallurgy and biomechanics and promptly joined the military. At 17, he is about to be bumped up to captain, but as a lieutenant somehow commands an entire brigade, his hometown Rapid Reaction unit. He's been put to the test before; he and his (wo)men have assisted in three major natural disasters (two volcanic eruptions and one earthquake). He was a card-carrying member of the Young Socialists, and served as the Youth President of that group in Kokoa Province. He is engaged.

The area's not known for its socialist sentiments, but has a history of it due to historical strikes against sugar and coffee barons on the isles. The area's main contribution to the Volunteer Corps is the Rapid Reaction Brigade, and the Royal Rifles of Kokoa. Mainly hailing from the forested, hilly, and wet hinterland around the city of Kokoa, the RRB is led by their very own Lieutenant Kukio'mo'ole. The RRB is made up of 500 men. 250 of these men are veterinarians, doctors, and other supporters and 250 are designated engineers and mechanics. Most of them have served abroad in a military or civilian assistance capacity before, and about half are dedicatedly left-wing. The Royal Rifles are another matter; they are mostly impartial, but are the Imperial answer to the Nepalese Gurkhas, and as such can teach any comer a lesson or two in the art of warfare. They are led by Colonel Latham, who recently transferred over to the ground-pounding part of the service.
Benedict-on-Sea Capital Region- A large green megalopolis on the warm eastern seaboard of the Unified Empire, and also its capital. It's well known for its white-collar inhabitants and its vibrant culture and counterculture scene. The city itself, all 800 square miles of it, is relatively evenly split between ideological viewpoints. The 1st Imperial Dragoon Regiment is one of the three elite units garrisoning the city, and is composed of about 800 regulars with their vehicles, a small ceremonial mounted contingent, and their support units. They will be rotated, however, with a full-strength regular regiment from the Imperial Barracks in the center of the capital every six months.
Clearwater/Sundervall Regions- Two relatively conservative regions in the agricultural, grassy heartland of the nation. Most of those areas are centrists or conservatives, although the region's cities- especially those built around maritime trade and slaughterhouses- have a strong streak of socialist feeling in them. They are the main recruiting ground for the Imperial Marines and the Air Force, and the air and naval component of the volunteer corps hails from the area. Again, they aren't entirely ideologically uniform, but that should be left that way, according to the General Staff.
