The incumbent Prime Minister has lost the confidence of the people and his colleagues after failing to convince the majority of the voters to keep the United Kingdom in the European Union. This Prime Minister's gamble brings his Premiership a slow, yet inevitable death now almost a year in the making and while still in office, very few would say he is still in power. In order to save his party and to keep if not himself, his fraction still in control the PM gambles once more. Wanting to legitimize his potential successors by putting them in front of the people whose lives their decisions will have an impact on he's starting to plan a snap election.

The race for power will soon begin once more.

But before it does a lot can happen. The Conservative Party is scheduled to have a lengthy leadership process during which alliances and rivalries for years to come will be forged. In times of a great economic downturn and voter disenfranchment no leader is safe, perhaps not even those on the other side of the aisle. Controversial among his peers, Labour Party Leader Richard Thorpe, might have to stay vigilant, trying his best to stop any potential leadership challenges, before they can come to fruition.

But what will happen when the Conservatives and Labourers are done with their internal struggles and a snap election will finally have been called?

The Leader of the Labour Party will undoubtedly try to regain the Premireship for the party and himself after seven years in opposition. After seeing a major defeat less than two years ago the Liberal Democrats have to regroup and do their best to re-take as many seats as is possible for them. Despite winning the last year's referendum the United Kingdom Independence Party struggles to stay relevant after a major dip in the polls. Every party has their own motivations and ambitions.

But this election is not only about party politics, however. Whoever wins and moves into 10 Downing Street will have to face one of the biggest challenges a Prime Minister has faced in decades. Divided as ever the United Kingdom was recently hit with the biggest economic recession since the last decade. The reckless decision of the Japanese authorities to raise interest rates causing a local stock market crash and a global economic downturn as well as the strike of oil producers, workers and corporations around the world put the UK in a dificult economic situation. While the Dudley Strike which started the snowball effect of the previously mentioned protests was recently broken up after a decision taken by the American President mildly calming the economic situation world-wide the British Government was unable to take action to start their own recovery due to a parliamentary deadlock. Keeping the advanced age of Her Majesty the Queen in mind the United Kingdom migh witeness a large amount of political turmoil in the years to come.

More than ever in recent memory the Kingdom needs a strong an capable leader at the helm of it's government. It needs a great statesman very few of which it has witenessed in recent history. Land for political squabbles is more fertile than anyone could imagine in these trying times. The upcoming election will be the most important in generations, but will you be a spectator or a participant in this story? Will history remember you as a great statesman, so currently needed or a fool who through his egoism and hunger for power doomed the nation for eternity?

The application lies in front of you. The time to join the eternal struggle for power is now. It is up to you how you will use it.

Rules

1- OP is Lord and the Co-OP's are the princes. Their word is law. Follow it.
2- No RL characters Or at least no celebrities. There is no Nigel Farage here. On this note, RL politicians post-Thatcher do not exist, or have been replaced with generic stand-ins: those spots are yours to fill. Records and history are the same, including statistics, save in the places where player-characters have brought about a change.
3- Post when you can-warn us if you can't. A post per week is a good minimum standard, but we understand that real-life gets in the way. If you plan to leave, or you will be offline for some time, especially if you are interacting with someone, please try to let us know.
4-Make some IC effort. We are more lenient than most, here, but do try to put some effort into your IC posts. Try to keep one-liners to a minimum, though they are fine if in a conversation.
5- Respect your fellow players. Play nice. If you don't have friends, you won't have fun.
6- No Sue/flawless/perfect characters Give them some flaws. No one has fun when everyone is perfect. Everyone wants to be a young, tall, strong, charismatic superman. We'd like a little more depth than that.
7-No cheat-edits Once you've made an IC post, leave it. Tweaks to formatting are all right, but don't try to change what you've already put down, especially if it has already been responded to.
8- If you are not sure if something is legal, ask OOC first. Always better to check-and there is limited leniency for things that are obviously bad.
9-No assassination attempts. You can probably look for a loophole there-don't. In essence, no use of extreme physical force against another player, or anything like poison. If you and another both agree, contact an OP, and it will be discussed-unilateral action is strictly forbidden.
10-No research in closed situations-For the short version-no Googling in debates. You can do all the research you like in preparation, but while a debate is going on, no citing of outside resources is permitted. This is on the honor system-but if you start spouting off statistics to the fifth decimal place, we'll probably catch on. In short, when you're in a situation where your character can't be looking things up, you can't either. If you're not sure-ask an OP.
11-No spite characters. You may hate Conservatives, and want to make an MP who will have scandals on them-don't. Complex characters are fine, but having your character actively sabotage their own party/demographic out-of-character is forbidden.
12-No metagaming. This takes two forms-first, using OOC knowledge that you have but your character could not in the IC, and second, attempting to "engineer" a character specifically to do something in relation to specific aspects of another character or a situation. Hiccups aside, keep OOC and IC separate. Similarly
13-Keep OOC comments out of the IC. We have a whole thread set aside just for that reason. Putting and leaving OOC comments in parenthesis degrades the quality of the RP, wholly OOC posts in the IC are right out. Bring up any issues in the OOC, or TG the OP.
14-PG-13. The site has a PG-13 rule, and we follow it. Swearing is acceptable in-character, but do your best not to make a habit of it, and censor the harder language if you can. Explicit sexual reference are prohibited-if that ever becomes necessary, use euphemisms. The same holds true for gore.
14- Have fun! Misery is illegal.

Applications

From Washington Political RP:

Prolieum wrote:On "Hotshots" or "Movie Stars"

In this roleplay there has been a tendency for players, especially newcomers, to gravitate towards a certain kind of character, dubbed "hotshots", with several traits typically in common: An extremely young, often fiery, successful, tall and attractive politician, with excellent charisma and skills, often winning in a district or state that their party typically loses in, and possessing an inspiring backstory, with their 'weaknesses' being stubbornness, unwillingness to follow the rules, and generally being an anti-establishment rebel type. Oftentimes as well, their views may be a self-insert of your own.

While such a character makes an excellent movie star, less so in a roleplay based off of the realities of Washington. Few thirty-year old Senators built like football players and models are running about, and only so many anti-establishment characters can exist before the 'establishment' becomes a minority.

The recommendation is for new players to consider expanding their horizons instead of looking for a "movie star" "hotshot" character type, consider making a character who holds different views than you, who has definite weaknesses, older, establishment-perhaps more skilled in experience, or other ways.

Everyone wants to be the young prodigy, but it is a better roleplay experience for all, including yourself, to seek some diversity.

RP Primer - Read Before Joining
The beginning year is 2017. The Westminster roleplay takes place in our universe with every aspect of the world (with the exception of those affected by player characters in this or the Washington Political RP) are the same as they are in real life. The Nazis haven't won the war and King Edward VIII hasn't been reinstated.

The Monarchy

Queen Elizabeth II's reign has been a long and successful one. Ever since taking the throne after her father George VI's death in 1952 the Queen has been providing her subjects with stability they need, for better or for worse. Both her and her husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, are, however, in advanced age being 91 and 95 respectively. With the inevitable on the horizon many turn their eyes to Prince Albert*, Prince of Wales whose complicated marriage and subsequent diverce with beloved Princess Diana and later far less complicated marriage with less popular Princess Emilla* led to him being outshined by his younger and more popular son, Prince George*.

*For the sake of this RP many real-life characters have had their names changed.

Prime Minister

In the earlier days of his career Archibald Wyvern led the Conservatives out of the shadow of the Labour Party under [Not-Tony Blair]'s very popular and later [Not-Gordon Brown]'s less popular leadership. Thanks to his skill as a politician and his opponents' mistakes he led the Conservatives to a victory in the 2010 General Election, forging an alliance with the Liberal Democrats under the leadership of [not-Nick Clegg] who became the Deputy Prime Minister. Conservative Party performed better in 2015 absorbing a big chunk of LibDem voter base securing a majority of 330 seats. Archibald Wyvern's fortune changed when, in order to end discussion on what would later be known as Brexit and to stop the fighting of supporters and opponents of the idea within the Conservative Party, he gambled not only his political career, but also the future of the United Kingdom. A supporter of the UK's membership in the European Union he suffered a narrow defeat at the polls with the nation deciding to leave the community. Now, almost a year after the referendum it is crystal clear to Archibald Wyvern that he cannot stay in power much longer. While the global conservative ideals have been strengthened by unprecedented landslide victory of the American Republican Party in last year's elections, Prime Minister's personal approval ratings as well as his colleague's support are too low and weak for him to continue on. This is why he called the leadership election remaining as the interim leader until a successor has been chosen.

Economic Situation

The global economy has seen a major economic downturn when in July of 2016 the Japanese authorities have decided to recklessly rise interest rates causing a stock market crash which soon spread abroad. The subsequent Dudeley Strike in the United States raised gasoline prices up in the United Kingdom, although not as much as in the United States where prices have gone up to a price of over $5 per gallon. While the global recession has been slowly coming to an end and the British economy has been slowly recovering the government was unable to take much action as the discontent factions of the Conservative Party and the Opposition have effectively blocked any economic recovery plans put forward by Prime Minister Wyvern and his cabinet.

Planned timeline of events

Mid April-May - Conservative Party MPs decide on top 2 leadership candidates

June/July - Conservative members vote on party leader, Wyvern resigns

Early-mid November - General Election

Current IC Date Range

17th - 29th April 2017

Rasing the first question of this RP, since I have a dillema.

I can't decide between apping with a middle aged centre-left machiavellian politician or an old hindu "retired revolutionary" socialist woman who would be a grandmother figure for many Labour MPs.

Character Information Sheet

NS Nation Name: Greater Arab State
Character Name: Anita Benn
Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 32
Character Height: 5" 6'
Character Weight: 118 lbs
Character Position/Role/Job: MP for Corby (2015-present)
Appearance: Image
Character Constituency of Origin: Corby
Character Constituency of Residence: Corby
Character Party Affiliation: Conservative
Main Strengths: Seen as a fresh face in Parliament, has support amongst both working class and women voters, dedicated to both her constituents and the Conservative party.
Main Weaknesses: Lacks political experience, lack of confidence,
Biography:

Anita Benn was born on the 16th of April 1985 into a Anglo-Indian family of small business owners. During her youth she successfully passed all of her GCSE's with A*'s in Citizenship studies and Business studies before taking these subjects for A levels. In 2003 Ms. Benn proceeded to study Business Administration and Management at De Montfort University, Leicester before eventually going on to graduate with a first in the subject.

After graduating in 2007 she proceeded to work in her parents business and during the financial recession began to take more control of the business's affairs such as advertising which led to the business for the most part to be protected during the great recession culminating in her becoming the full owner of the business in 2012.

In 2015 Ms. Benn announced her campaign to be the Member of Parliament for Corby focusing on issues such as the EU, immigration and infrastructure. After an extremely close campaign against the Labour incumbent she was elected MP by a margin of 42% compared to the 40% of the vote that the Labour incumbent won. During the campaign Ms. Benn suffered from racial abuse particularly from the UKIP candidate for the constituency who argued that the Conservative Party was more focused on appealing to ethnic minorities than white working class Britons. The UKIP candidate received 18% of the vote.

Since being elected to Parliament Ms. Benn has been mostly quiet but actively engaged with her Constituents to get their stances on issues affecting the UK whilst also holding party engagement in as high a priority. During the EU referendum Ms. Benn became a vocal supporter for the Leave campaign arguing that "The EU was originally a trading bloc and should stay that way." and has said that any economic concerns when Britain leaves the EU will be put to rest due to the UK having more freedom to trade with International parters such as the US. With the results of the referendum announced and the possibility and speculation of a Conservative leadership election brewing in the future Ms. Benn is seen as a likely contender.

Other Info:

Pro-Life but seeks to address the issues that Women face rather than just criminalising abortion.

Pro-Brexit on both economic and social grounds.

Supports increased trading ties with countries outside of the EU.

Believes in keeping the Trident Nuclear deterrent as well as increased focus on increasing the defence budget to 3.5%.

Believes in lowering Corporation tax in order to encourage the growth of British business in a post Brexit UK.

NS Nation Name: Greater Liverpool
Character Name: Ernesto De Jimera
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 34
Character Height: 6'0
Character Weight: 83kg
Character Position/Role/Job: MP for West Derby Liverpool, Shadow Home Secretary
Appearance: (Photo preferred, not required)
Image

Character Constituency of Origin: West Derby Liverpool
Character Constituency of Residence: West Derby Liverpool
Character Party Affiliation: ;Labour
Main Strengths: Strong willed, charming, charismatic
Main Weaknesses: Seen by many in the Labour party as being too right winged and conservative to much of the rest of the labour party.
Biography:

Ernesto was born on 1st September, 1983 in the Royal Liverpool Hospital to a Fernando De Jimera and Lucy Reene. His family a part of a group of Spanish exiles that left Spain after Franco took power after the Spanish civil war and Ernesto grew up speaking Spanish as his first language but maintained a first rate grip of the English language. Ernesto group in a reasonable household of the middle class, his father worked for the council while his mother was a teacher and as such enjoyed some finer things in life then the people that surrounded him. He went to state school right throughout his education and it was here that the politics of Ernesto began to shape as he saw his fellow class mates struggle economically he began to believe in Socialist principles eventually joining the Labour party at 18 and getting involved in politics. After finishing school with good grades he went to University and studied mechanical engineering but this was also where he stated his military career as a officer cadet with the UOTC. After finishing University he went on to join the Army in the Parachute Regiment earning his maroon beret at the age 23 with a commission as a British officer.

But quickly he was rushed off to Afghanistan to fight with coalition forces as a member of the first Parachute Regiment, is was during this time that Ernesto began to change with the war in Afghanistan changing much of him. He began to question more and was routinely disciplined by his commanders but he was never demoted nor kicked out as although he may have been a pain in the ass for army he was in fact just a good officer for them. He showed real courage in the battles he took part in during his first tour and was a excellent commander of his men very quickly catching the eye of many of the higher ups in the Army, which climaxed with him winning the Victoria cross a week before he was to be sent home. While home he continued to question himself this time his political ethos, he was a Labour support but he had fought in the war that they had started and saw no real point in it and this was were the seeds of Ernesto's discontent with the Labour party started. However he was sent off once again in 2007 to Afghanistan for a second tour. But this was not going to like the first this time Ernesto and his company of men were sent of special forces support teams for secret mission alongside SAS and SBS. Ernesto refuses to describe what happened on this mission being held under the official secrets act. The tour ended and Ernesto returned home only to be called back into service although this time not Afghanistan but Kosovo.

It was Ernesto's tour of Kosovo that would change him completely. In Kosovo his mind changed and his view did as well seeing the plight of Serbs in Kosovo he began to try to understand it and better himself eventually after spending some time in a Serbian village he would convert of his family'y religion of Roman Catholic to Eastern Orthodox. For the first time in his eyes he saw what was wrong with the world the abuses of power, the EU and NATO he began to resent them and the army. He would return home from his third tour a changed man, he grew out his hair and beard to show his new found religion and started his journey in to politics as a labour party member.

He knew that the only real way to change the world and make it better was for himself to become a leader of the people like he had been a leader of men fighting. Due to him being seen as a war hero to many he was able to quickly rise through the ranks of the labour party to run to become a MP for home of West Derby Liverpool winning his seat in a 2014 bi-election and maintaining it in 2015. It was during the 2016 Brexit referendum that Ernesto rose to the fore front of British politics as the leader of Labour leave section however he faced real persecution from his party as being a leave voter. After the election Ernesto was one of the first to call for the Prime Minister to resign calling for a Brexit leader to lead an effective Brexit.

Other Info: Also a member of the Reserves. Still an officer (4th Battalion, Parachute Regiment)

Character Position/Role/Job: Leader of the Liberal Democrats (2015-Present), MP for Leicester South (1992-Present), Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change (2010-2015), Minister for Women and Equalities (2010-2015)
Appearance:
Image
Character Constituency of Origin: India
Character Constituency of Residence: Leicester South
Character Party Affiliation: Liberal Democrats
Main Strengths: Strong Willed, Honest, Appealing to British Minority Voters, Ties to the Working Class, Appeals to Immigrants, Aspiring Background.
Main Weaknesses: A Bit to the Left for what Liberal Democrats are used to, Has been called the Indian Margaret Thatcher when talking about her personality, Not very well known, nationally speaking.
Biography:

Born in New Delhi, Florence would be the first of many children for the couple. The family grew up poor and would later immigrate to the United Kingdom while she was still little. Florence would end up working several odd jobs during her teenage years to help keep her family afloat. She didn't originally plan on going to Sixth Form, she planned on becoming part of the working class, much like her father. She had a last minute decision to accept the offer from a local college at her parents begging, telling her how they came to the UK to give their kids a better life. She would do the usual Sixth Form thing, she got AAA on her A Levels and would head off to Oxford, getting a BA in PPE in 1984.

After getting her degree she decided to use it for good, to help the working man and woman. Although she started her career as a union leader, she would eventually start to work for and with the Labour Party. She made her way up the ranks and was selected to run for a seat in Parliament for Labour. She won of course and got to work being a loyal member of the Labour Party, hoping to one day be the leader. Then New Labour happened and she was not a happy camper. Sure, she still voted with Labour because of course she did, but still. Then [Not Tony Blair] became the damn Prime Minister, during his first two Ministries she became the most rebellious Labour MP. Things came to a head when she left the Labour Party for the Liberal Democrats after [Not Tony Blair's] successful vote to join the Iraq War.

She would now have the reclimb the latter that was a political party's bureaucracy. It wasn't fun and it wasn't easy but she did it. Despite being a left-wing member of the Liberal Dems she was actually happy when [Not Nick Clegg] formed a Government with the Conservatives instead of Labour. She saw it as a way to finally stop New Labour and fully supported the move at the time. She was made the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change and the Minister for Woman and Equalities. The Sec of State because the Lib Dems were able to make the Coalition work towards a Green Economy and the Ministry because the publicity for having and Britsh Indian Woman hold that seat was good for the Conservatives.

Once the General Election of 2015 happened, everything changed. The Liberal Democrats were practically whipped off the map of Parliament. Florence was one of the only 9 remaining MP's from the 57 they had before. [Not Nick Clegg] obviously resigned from the Leadership in complete disgrace. Starting a Leadership Election, which Florence entered right away. The Election was a three-way between Singh, [Not Tim Farron], and [Not Norman Lamb]. Singh and [Not Farron] clearly showed themselves as members of the left wing of the party, both wanting to modernize the party as well. [Not Lamb] wanted to bring the party back to the days before the Coalition. During the campaign, both Singh and [Not Lamb] criticized [Not Farron] on abortion and gay rights. In the first round [Not Lamb] came out on top, with 39% of the vote. Singh had 34% and [Not Farron] had 27%. [Not Farron] was eliminated and most of his voter's second choice was Singh, making her the clear winner.

Now in the Opposition, her main goal was to prepare to take back the seats that the Lib Dems had lost in 2015. Then the Brexit Referendum and happened, Florence submitted a bill for a second referendum that was quickly smacked down by the Government. That only increased her drive to destroy the Conservatives in the next general. She just didn't think the next general would be happening so soon.

So what's her plan? Promise to hold a second referendum before doing anything else relating to Brexit, Promise to let Scotland and Northern Ireland hold referendums if the second referendum votes Leave and they vote Remain. Take back the Conservative Seats lost in 2015 via bashing the Conservatives with Prime Minister Wyvern's leadership in the final days of is Premiership and the Austry Cuts he put in place, as well as just showing how out of touch he and his party is, he's a damn Duke for christ sake. Meanwhile, on the left side of things, she hopes to show her party as a progressive/sane alternative to Thrope's Labour. She'll probably seek electoral packs with the Green Party while promoting the Alliance Party and the Social Democratic and Labour Party in Northern Ireland. Using the horribleness of FPTP to her advantage wherever she can. Promoting the idea of an English Parliament/English Votes for English Laws. All while capitalizing on people's fear of Brexit. However, she has yet to decide if she will stand in Leicester South or a safer constituency. Currently she's against the idea as she is personally popular in her Constituency.

Other Info:
Although she has never married, she has been life-long partners with Andrew Ashworth, a Union Leader. They have three children together.

Strongly Remain: If she was in power and it didn't look extremely undemocratic, she would chuck the results of that non-binding referendum into a fire.
Socially Liberal: You know, equality.
Healthcare: She is pissed that the Conservatives continue to underfund the NHS.

Education: While she's all for more Uni Students, she has a soft spot for the French and German Education Systems.
Economy: Seeing as the Liberal Dem's are going to need some donors if she wants to be the Kingmaker of 2017, she's going to stay a bit silent on just how much she thinks the rich should be taxed.
Voting Reform: Death to FPTP, let MMP, STV, or PR come to our glorious nation! Constituencies of equal size too!
Science: You'll be hard pressed to fine a more pro-science politician in the UK.
Scottish Question: If Scotland wants to be its own nation, it should be.
Irish Question: If Northern Ireland wants to reunite with Ireland, it should be.

Biography:
Born into a rich family and fattened by opulence and luxury in his youth, Wyvern did not have a rags to riches story. His family holding immense privileged led to Archibald being the stereotypical rich kid at school often bullying the less well to do. Due to his family's immense influence Wyvern was able to attend the Eton School, where he quickly developed a reputation as a bully and a troublemaker. His academic record in Eton was also less than stellar. His parents being worried for his future decided that he needed some discipline in his life, and thus sent him to Sandhurst as his grades were too poor to make it into Oxford, his parents' first choice. At Sandhurst Archibald took to the regimented lifestyle and liked the structure in his life, turning from poorly disciplined troublemaker to a model student in just a few months.

After graduation Wyvern was assigned to the Life Guards where he saw an undistinguished career mostly on parade never seeing active service. In 1990 he quit the military with the rank of Captain after his father's death in a car accident and his ascendance as the Duke of Richmond and Lennox. Under his leadership he managed his family's estate rather well, and gained a reputation as an ethical and innovative leader in the business community. In 2001 with the retirement of the old MP, Wyvern sought election to the safely Tory seat of Chichester, where he won in a landslide.

His early political career involved a low profile whilst gathering powerful allies behind the scenes, while the traditional leadership disintegrated due to a series of blunders and mistakes. After the loss in the 2005 election and the resignation of the then leader of the Conservative Party, Wyvern announced his bid for leadership. Running as a "One Nation Conservative" with socially liberal and economically liberal policies Wyvern was initially considered a long shot, however the complete and utter disintegration and incompetence of the traditionalist wing of the Conservative Party led to his ultimate victory in the race thanks to a witty and funny campaign which connected with the Conservative base.

As Leader of the Opposition he turned the Party in a more progressive direction. With the exception of Europe, which Wyvern fanned Euro skepticism on. Wyvern made sure to expunge the memory of Thatcherism from the Conservative Party and purged many of the traditionalists out of key leadership roles utilizing the large MP expense scandal as an excuse. There were also allegations that Wyvern was a bully in his youth with many interviews with his former victims which Wyvern responded by saying "he made mistakes in his youth"

Despite the scandals Wyvern led the Conservative Party to a plurality of the vote in the 2010 election from far behind due to his skills in campaigning and negotiated a coalition agreement with them. In response to the ongoing great recession Wyvern under direction from his new finance minister undertook austerity measures including very harsh military spending cuts(to 1.5% of the GDP) as well as reforming the military into a more Counter Insurgency focused force at the expense of its conventional warfare abilities. Despite cuts, Wyvern invested heavily in cyber defense infrastructure and expanded the cyber presence of the military. resulting in a minor foreign policy incident where the US complained that the UK was not meeting its NATO obligations which Wyvern skillfully diffused, as what was then said to be a "temporary emergency measure". Whilst campaigning against immigration Wyvern did nothing to address the issue in his first term, although Wyvern did approve the Heathrow Airport expansion in exchange for temporary higher landing fees in Heathrow, until the construction of Heathrow was complete. Wyvern oversaw UK's contribution to Libya, but he ultimately elected not to attack Syria's government in response to their chemical attacks. He also held the Union together during the Scottish referendum, although campaigning by most of his subordinates was often ineffective or even self-destructive the Duke's personal campaigning skills managed to charm many Scots into staying with an ultimate 55-45 victory for Remain.

The 2015 general election was widely considered to be Wyvern's masterpiece, a combination of clever campaigning, balancing factions, and a strong ground game led to a Conservative majority a result that shocked most of the news media, however their election partner the Liberal Democrats were completely decimated. During his second term Wyvern began putting together a public option pharmacare program, which was cut short. He also authorized the military to undertake operations against ISIS in the foreign policy front. The new Counter Insurgency oriented RAF led to more effective air strikes against the insurgent group, while the cyber capabiliites of the UK allowed them to wreak havoc on ISIL's online websites as well as greatly disrupting their recruitment program. However, Wyvern had to deliver on a key campaign promise, the Brexit referendum. Initial polls showing a Remain victory soon turned into a neck and neck race. Wyvern at that point was described as "an exhausted and decrepit old man" whose campaign was utterly disappointing and uninspiring during its initial much to the dismay of those who saw his wit in the previous election fade sharply. Although in the last week Wyvern seemed to be far more energetic on the campaign trail, it was too little, too late, Leave won a narrow victory. In the wake of the leave victory Wyvern's once loyal allies started deserting him one by one, with many of those who he elevated stabbing him in the back. Though still in command of a sizable group of loyalists, the old Duke saw the writing on the wall. He announced that he would resign as Prime Minister as soon as the Conservative Party picked its new leader, and wishing to taking advantage of his still considerable influence over the Conservative Party at this stage albeit with declining approval ratings by the day though more popular than his 2 predecessors, he also declared that as soon as the Conservative Party finished picking their new leader and will dissolve parliament in order for the British people to have their voice heard in their new PM

Despite his efforts to contain the recession Conservative defectors as well as the Opposition were enough to take the majority out of the hands of his loyalists, and with the three sides hating each other no compromise could have been reached, leaving the parliament in deadlock.

NS Nation Name: Greater Liverpool
Character Name: Ernesto De Jimera
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 34
Character Height: 6'0
Character Weight: 83kg
Character Position/Role/Job: MP for West Derby Liverpool, Shadow Home Secretary
Appearance: (Photo preferred, not required)

I must say that I have certain reservations when it comes to this application, especially his military decoration. According to my research only one Victoria cross had been awarded through the course of the Iraq War.

Moreover, he could use more/stronger weaknesses. Besides that some of the elements of his biography could use some changes for example instead of saying that he was/is seen as a war hero you could say that his war service earned him the respect of many voters. This could also justify his popularity among more right-winged voters. I would also suggest changing the description of him being the leader of the labour party leave section to something more humble. He is a young and fairly inexperienced politician. He still has a lot of time to make a name for himself, but it takes time and effort to do so.

Character Age: 32
Character Height: 5" 6'
Character Weight: 118 lbs
Character Position/Role/Job: MP for Corby (2015-present)
Appearance: (Image)

In 2015 Ms. Benn announced her campaign to be the Member of Parliament for Corby focusing on issues such as the EU, immigration and education. After a extremely close campaign against the Labour incumbent she was elected MP by a margin of 44% compared to 36% for the Labour incumbent. During the campaign the UKIP candidate focused on Ms. Benn's race arguing that the Conservative party was more interested in appealing to minority voters than to white, working class Britons and led to UKIP gaining 14% of the vote in the Constituency.

As stated before I am concerned with the description of her general election campaign. You describe a hard fought, very close campaign, yet she outperformed her real life counterpart. If you could adjust the wording to fit one of the two possibilities, it would improve the application.

I am thinking of adapting Wilson for England, maybe as Defense Secretary. I also think I need to age him 5 years and give him 10 years in the Commons. I want him to be new to the job.

I don't know what I would do. Writing Wilson is easy. Playing a non Wilson Brit will be hard, and having a little Wilson in there will help me.

Character Information Sheet

NS Nation Name: Tobiasia
Character Name: Sir Alexander Tigros
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 47
Character Height: 1.7m
Character Weight: 76kg
Character Position/Role/Job: British Ambassador to the United States of America
Appearance:
Image
Character Constituency of Origin: Lewes
Character Constituency of Residence: N/A, currently residing in Washington DC
Character Party Affiliation: officially none, tends to be more left-leaning
Main Strengths: respected, calm, intelligent presence, for example calling for peaceful and sensible dialogue during the 2012 political crisis as well as not letting his political views sway his judgement or work during his many years as ambassador.
Main Weaknesses: can be uncharismatic and occasionally undiplomatic, for example, he once stated in a leaked conversation with the Romanian Ambassador that the nationalist senator and MEP Corneliu Vadim Tudor was “a dimwitted racist”. The incident sparked controversy and threatened Tigros' position as ambassador, but following his public apology to Tudor, the situation was eventually resolved, though Tudor continued to push for Tigros' dismissal behind the scenes for several years. Tigros has since learned to keep his mouth shut on political issues.

Biography: Alexander Tigros was born in Brighton, Sussex, in 1970. He attended the University of Edinburgh and received a BA in history. After graduation, he entered the diplomatic service, before being posted to Cairo as First Secretary of the mission there in 1998. In 2003 he was appointed Ambassador to Romania. Tigros became highly thought of by the government in Bucharest, and was key in establishing strong British-Romanian relations, especially in regards to defense and trade, as well as Romania's accession to the EU. In 2014 he was appointed as the Ambassador to the United States of America, after many in the Coalition, especially Lib Dems, recognized his successful service to the crown.

Tigros has been seen by many in the diplomatic establishment as a logical voice of reason. He isn't as flashy or as charismatic as many ambassadors or figures in the foreign office, however his calmly principled manner has won him cross-party support in the UK. He has spent the last 2 years trying to maintain strong US-UK relations particularly focusing on trade and security. He has performed excellently in managing tricky diplomatic issues, and is a strong advocate of the 'special relationship'. In 2017 he was knighted in the New Year's Honours List. He lives in Washington DC with his wife Helena and two children Max and Jeremy.
Other Info: Tigros has good relations with both the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition, and is well trusted by the Foreign Office.
Tigros was initally appointed by the Labour government to Romania, and therefore has support among more centrist Labour figures. His character and diplomatic style won him the support of PM Wyvern, who had spent several years modernising the party before he replaced the current ambassador with Tigros. Tigros' main supporters are One Nation Conservatives and Blairites, as he is more inclined towards the centre, whilst those on the far left and far right want Tigros replaced with a ideologically supportive pawn, and some have suggested a figure outside the foreign office could be a better ambassador than Tigros. However, the centre have clung to him, and as long as Westminster holds out against the extremes, Tigros should remain safe in Washington.
