16 October 2018 15:30 | Sana'a, Arabian EmpireAfter Four days of heavy gunfire and missile exchange, The Imperial Warforce of Frievolk has finally succeeded in defeating the Arabian Defensive Positions on the city of Sana'a, Province of Yemen. With a casualty of 182 Frievolker troops -only 51 of which are fatal-, Frievolk has successfully occupied the city of Sana'a, finally dismantling the last of the Arabian forces in the Province.
With Yemen under Frievolker and Muscat-Oman under Persian Occupation, the Asian Provinces of the Arabian Empire have all fallen to the might of the ASME. While Persian forces march for Riyadh itself, Frievolker diplomatic and military officials have opened negotiations with the Imperial Federation over movement of our troops and navy in the Gulf of Aden. If the Negotiations end successfully, Frievolk will move a naval force in the Red Sea to blockade the Egyptian coasts and begin the proper invasion thereof.
Syria has refused to move any troops into African Egypt thus far, President Dalal's latest press release stating that "We have occupied the Province of Jordan and will ensure Arabian forces will not move from Asia to Africa or vice versa. That, however, is all we will do."

Ostrich herd rampage in Brabant-Limburg destroys thousands of Guelders of property, no fatality reported.

16 October 2018 13:30 | Oss, Frievolker EmpireA Significantly large Ostrich Herd of 17 members went on a rampage a few hours ago in the Grand Duchy of Brabant-Limburg. At 10:30, the herd found its way to the city of Oss. Emergency units and citizen militia groups were dispatched accordingly as soon as they discovered what was going on, and the herd was rerouted to the northern borders across to the Kingdom of Netherlands. About 70,000 Guelders were destroyed in public and private property, and ten people were injured in the aforementioned rampage, though emergency officials have reported that the worst injury was a broken leg, and most were only minor trauma.
Grand Duke Hans III, The crown of Brabant-Limburg, has pledged to reimburse the private citizens' lost property, and promises to increase in local wildlife security.

France, Germany, and Britain launch world's first space station into high orbit.

15 October 2018 23:45 | Bruxel, Frievolker EmpireThe Very First military Space Station in our history was launched by the French Republic, the German Empire, and the Imperial Federation of Britain into high orbit. This Space Station which has been estimated to have cost more than 225 billion Marks to build, launch, and staff, and is considered the greatest achievement of these three rivals in modern military and political history. The Station can host up to 125 people permanently, and the Joint Commander of this project has stated in a recent press release that they welcome efforts from other countries in order to further improve this Station, named Erdwächter (or Earthwatcher), is predicted to fall under the authority of the World Assembly if the recent Act passes.
The Frievolker Empire will debate on whether or not to join this ambitious project in the Imperial Diet, as promised by various Fursts in the diet. We do not believe that the decision will meet much opposition, but one can never know.

Representatives of Royal and Noble Houses all through the Occident have volunteered as Candidates for the throne, which will soon be decided by the Sejm. The Houses of Hohenzollern, Windsor, and Napoleon have refused to send any representatives.

National Vexillological Contest ends; Four flags to be debated on in the Reiksdiät!

More than three thousand flags were submitted from all over the Empire, on a diverse range of varieties and contexts. The Imperial Vexillological Assembly (Vexillologik Reiksversammlung) has declared that six of these flags received a mark higher than 9/10, and thus are declared as winners.
Similar to every other Decennial Vexillological Contest's winning pack, these six flags (An Alternative Flag for the Empire, the Kingdom of Belgium, the Nederstjill Kingdom, and flags for theoretical Colonies in South Africa, Aden, and Kuwait) were sent directly to the Reiksdiät for further evaluation.
The Flags for the Empire and the Nedersjill Kingdom were vetoed, for the interests of Constitutional Law as the aforementioned two flags have a Constitutional description, but the other four were sent to be debated on in the next Diät meetings. It is predicted that the Flag of Belgium will be replaced with the flag designed by amateur Vexillologist Ludwig van der Saar, and that -should these theoretical colonies come to reality- the flags designed by Vexillologists Schleifer 'Gottvater' Hoff (Sudafrika), Ahmed Hunan (Kuwait), and Johann Gottfried von Mittelwelt (Aden) will, at the very least, be taken into account if not chosen outright.

Dutch Noble elected as the new King of Poland-Lithuania!

19 October 2018 10:00 | Warsaw, Poland-LithuaniaThe wolna elekcja of October 19 2018 elected the new Crown of Poland-Lithuania. After a week or mourning and electoral campaigns by various nobles -and commoners- from all over Europe, the Sejm finally elected the new King of Poland-Lithuania. Ludwig Karl, a minor noble of the house of Nassau was finally elected as King, with the Beruner candidate (Joanna von Berun) and the Wittelsbach candidate (Joseph Wenzel) coming respectively second and third.
The House of van Nassau has, since the catastrophic Weltkrig and their invasion of our sovereign territories, had unfriendly and at-times hostile relations with both the House of Berun, Mittelwelt, and the Empire as a whole. It is currently unclear what the results of this election will be. Keiser Willem-Alexander of The Dutch Empire has congratulated his grand nephew for his "newfound crown", and has promised to improve relations with Poland-Lithuania, which has had lukewarm relations with the latter, despite their consistent membership in the Worldwide Entente for the majority of the last 70 years.
The new Król is expected to have his coronation on 13 November, and has cordially invited "anyone who wishes to be present" for the occasion.

18 October 2018 12:00 | Kiel, German EmpireWhile the infamous Nordbo Socialist Republic has seen consistent unsteady and uneasy peace for the majority of its short life, the Civil War that started with its defeat in the Nordbo-Baltic war has consistently decreased its stability, with more and more cities and regions falling under the banners of the three breakaway factions in the large Scandinavian Republic. With most of the Jutland now under control of the Danish Royalist revolt and the majority of southern Norway and Sweden as contested territory between the NSP and (respectively) the Norsk Republican Revolt and the Swedish Royalist Revolt, it seems that the Nordbo Socialist Republic's fate is almost sealed.
Baltic, Frievolker, German, and French troops are already prepared to intervene on the side of the aforementioned rebel factions as soon as one of them declares statehood, and it seems that the Danish Revolt is the closest, as only Copenhagen, the current capital of the Nordbo Socialist Republic, remains out of their control. The World Assembly has yet to respond on what side in this rebellion it supports, something that the Nordbo representatives have been protesting against repeatedly since the beginning of the war in 2015.

With all of The Asian territories of the Arabian Empire occupied and the fall of Riyadh near, the Alliance to Stabilize Middle East has announced that a meeting between Reikskanzler Otto of Frievolk, PM Ebrahimi of Iran, PM Netanyahu of Israel, and Speaker Ahmadi of Syria in order to decide the future of the Empire. Iran and Syria have already made their claims -and, in case of Iran, nearly realised said claim- and Israel has repeatedly said it does not wish any more territory other than the already-accepted Sinai, but these decisions weren't decided until the meeting, earlier today, where they released a press release, officially declaring the following:It is obvious that this may not be the final result of a possible victory, but while extremely ambitious, this does not seem anything out of ordinary where a fallen empire is concerned. It appears that the short-lived Arabian Empire may not live to see its first decade.
- The Arabian Provinces of Iraq, Qatar, and Coastal Emirates will, alongside the Province of Bahrain, be annexed by Iran.
- Israel will annex all territories between it and British Sinai.
- Syria will annex the province of Jordan
- Frievolk will annex Kuwait, all Arabian Possessions in the Persian Gulf's islands, and the Provinces of Eritrea, Djibouti, and some of the Province of Yemen.
- The Province of Egypt will be released as a sovereign State
- All Arabian Posessions in the South-eastern Coasts of Arabia will be released as a sovereign State.

"Public Sphere Act" passes with a decisive victory. Constitution to be amended!

20 October 2018 13:00 | Berun, Frievolker Empire274 Days of debate finally borne fruit when the Reiksdiät finally decided to vote on the controversial but long-awaited Public Sphere Act. The New Act, which forced the National Constitutional Commission (Nationale Verfassungskommission) to amend the Constitution's Article 17. Those duties of the Secretariat of State that fall under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Public Affairs have been delegated to the newly formed Secretariat of the Public Sphere.
Unlike what the name sounds like, the newly formed Secretary will be in charge of public affairs such as Welfare, Healthcare, Education, and Public Wealth Distribution, only insofar as it does not intrude on the Economic Secretariat's jurisditions. The former minister of Public Affairs, Ms. Hilda Muller, has taken office as the new Secretariat, joining the Kabinet as an Equal.

New Belgian Flag accepted by the Kingdom of Belgium!

20 October 2018 13:00 | Bruxel, Frievolker EmpireThe Belgian Legislation, the so-called Assemblée Royale, has passed an act changing the flag of Belgium into the flag designed by Herr van der Saar. Frederick, King of Belgium, has expressed royal assent to this act, stating that "The Previous Flag of our proud Kingdom was a mere shadow of a Dutch Flag, and one that enforced our long-held identity as "Netherland's waste" even to the Confederation as it did to our own spirit. It is with great honor that I effectively assent to a New flag, one that shows the proud Flemish, Walloon, and Nederstjill that inhabit our nation!"
The Flag's Designer, amateur vexillologist Ludwig van der Saar, has been awarded an annual royalty for his design. Kaiser Johann has yet to comment, but it does not seem likely he will veto Konig Frederick's Assent.

20 October 2018 13:00 | Lienz, Austrian EmpireThe Most Serene Republic of Venice has faced a relatively peaceful term since its formation after the Treaty of London, 1946. However, for the first time in recent History, its sovereignty has come under challenge.
Swiss, Venetian, Piedmonter, and Croatian reports all state that there has been a dramatic increase in movement on the Austro-Venetian Borders. The Empire, which has had little to no military operations since the War on apartheid in 1994, has been reported to have deployed a number between 2,500 to 50,000 infantry and at least forty Armored units to the border. The Venetian Republic responded with an increase on its military and an order of "Preparedness" for mobilization.
The German Chancellor, as the day-to-day Leader of the Seigerpakt, openly denied any form of larger Military Plans against Venetia or her allies, instead stating "Austria is free to fight alone. The Reich is not willing to enter another war with the world for Austria's Imperial Ambitions.", though none of the Seigerpakt Nations (our own government included) have condemned the Austrian act of aggression in the World Assembly. Bohemia, Austria's minor relative in the Habsburg Commonwealth, has surprisingly not pulled support for Venice or Austria, instead remaining neutral.
Austrian Chancellor Sebastian von Belen has yet to declare a reason for the recent aggressive border movements, but a conflict may be in the horizon. Only time can tell.

Parliamentary Election Postponed to December!

22 October 2018 15:00 | Berun, Frievolker EmpireWhile Traditionally, the quinquennial Parliamentarian Elections have, since their inception in the Act of Constitution of 1848, been held in October, the Reiksdiät accepted Reikskanzler Harlow's request to postpone the election for 58 more days. The Chancellor's argument for his request was citing the wartime necessity for the Government, hinting that the political vacuum inbetween the two Governments might enforce a higher number of casualties o our troops in The Middle East and Northern Africa.
While the Chancellor had requested the election to be held in January 2019, the Diet, after a compromise between Harlow's Constitutionalist Party and the Opposition in The Absolutist Party, only agreed to postpone the Election for 60 days, which makes December 10 the beginning of the National Election Week. Parties across the Confederation and the Empire have begun their campaigns, the first debate being scheduled for November 2 2018.

Battle of Riyadh almost over, ASME Regional Command announces!

22 October 2018 10:00 | Riyadh, Occupied ArabiaThe Battle of Riyadh, which began in 23rd of September, has been reported by HeersGeneral Vincent van Koop, highest officer of the ASME Regional Taskforce, to be in its final stages. With the majority of the outer defenses of the city dismantled, the ASME forces, led by the Iranian general Hamed Keramati, are expected to have marched into the Arabian Imperial Palace by 24th of October. The ASME forces have shot every plane to leave Riyadh International Airport out of sky, and were reported to have captured it in the battle of Riyadh's airport on 12 of October, so it is unlikely that the Arabian Leadership will manage to escape and regroup.
Großmarschall Kuhn will leave for The Middle East by the end of this week to begin negotiations for peace with the by-then defeated Arabian Leadership, but Africa has not yet stated a wish to cease fighting, so it is too optimistic to expect the Persian-Arabian War of 2018 to end before November.

Republican Protest in Sudseit Dover ends in bloodshed!

22 October 2018 17:25 | Calais, Frievolker EmpireAn Anti-war protest held by the Republican "Egalitäre Partei" ended in bloodshed today when it was intercepted by a Pro-War counter-protest by the Royalist, Nederstjill Nationalist "Heimat und Kultur". 2 people, a 16 years' old student by the name of Jean Martin and a 27 years' old Bernard de Serre were the victims of this street clash, one murdered by point blank gunshot and the other by being repeatedly beaten by a bat, with another 15 people injured to various degrees.
The Government of the city and the Duchy have alternatively condemned both sides of the protest and ordered the intervention of local law enforcement. It is unclear whether this is a single event or part of a larger narrative.

Vermont-Hansfund treaty of Amity signed!

24 October 2018 12:00 | Ottawa, Frievolker EmpireDespite the two countries' respective leadership of their own subgroup in the Seigerpakt, and despite our -more recent- geographical proximity, The Vermont Commonwealth and the Imperial Dominion of Hansfund only signed a Treaty of Amity on this day. The Negotiations between Reiksdirektor Brolin's government and its equivalent in President Sanders' cabinet finally resulted in a such treaty which was officially signed by a contingent of officials from the Diplomatic Troops of Vermont and Hansfund.
Among other things, the treaty ensures an open border between the two countries, an economic alliance -which may help, given the majority of Vermont's territory falls under what is known as the Rust Belt-, and an agreement to share Technological, Cultural, and Educational advances by either country. It is unclear whether this treaty will apply to the Rest of the Frievolker Empire, but even if not, the Kabinet of Chancellor Harlow have stated that this treaty will give precedent to a number of other similar treaties with Vermont when it becomes necessary.
Vermont's position regarding its other neighbors in the American Continent is a position of ideological and cultural disgust, and while we do not share their personal -and historical- bitterness regarding the United States, Cascadia, or The Union, the Frievolker Empire recognizes the United State as a loose cannon and one that may need to be contained in the near future. This treaty, which will only come into effect after it is given assent by the Vermonter President Sanders and our very own Kaiser and Reikskanzler, will probably give precedent to a larger economic bloc against The US.

Is Westphallianism a good thing? The World Assembly debates

While the very existence of a supernational League with judicial and legislative powers is against the concept of national sovereignty, the nations of the world were united in agreement that a such body was necessary for a continued survival of the Human Race after the catastrophic Second World War. Since then, however, the World Assembly has continuously garnered more power and centralized more authority around itself. A recent Resolution of the Security Council, passed by a Entente-Internationale vote, gives the World Assembly the right to form its own military and to levy troops from member-states in case of certain military operations agreed upon by the General Assembly.
This, along with a series of previous Resolutions, gives the WA the right to override National Budgets, National Legislation, and National Judiciary if the Security Council so wishes. While the clauses leading to a such override by the WA are, admittedly, extremely specific and not something that may happen in a normal situation, this set a precedent, and that precedent has led to a new debate on Westphallianism.
"Should National Sovereignty be taken into account?", well, a minority of representatives seem not to believe so, and wish to unify the member-states under a Federation, spanning across the globe. Of course, the Constitution of the World Assembly and the Universal Declaration of States, two of the various sets of laws the WA is bound to obey, forbid the World Assembly from permanently infringing on the national Sovereignty of any member nation, but as we all know, constitutions are bound to change.

Muslims no longer majority in Persik Inseln!

25 October 2018 19:23 | Kish, Frievolker EmpireFor the first time since its annexation into the Frievolker Empire in 2015, small archipelago of Frievolker colonies in the Persian Isles no longer accepts the Islamic Faith as majority religion. The results of a new census show that the Muslim majority of the Dominion has fallen from 87% to a staggering 21%, while the next two most popular religions (The Zoroastrian faith and The United Nederstjill Christian Church) have each seen a dramatic rise, with Zoroastrianism rising from 7% to 42% and the official religion of the Empire seeing a rise from 5% to 30%, with another 5% of the population not belonging to any of the aforementioned faiths.
These changes in demographics seem to be the result of policies of the Constitutionalist-Grand Imperial government of the Dominion, and have been repeatedly commended by both the population of the Islands and the rest of the Empire, and it does not seem unlikely that any future dominion of the Empire will follow such policies. The Dominion in Persian Isles has not seen any violence despite its proximity to the conflict in the Persian Gulf and rest of the Middle East, and have been rated the second safest Oversees Dominion of the Empire.

Emergency Seigerpakt meeting to be held in Königsberg regarding Swedish request for aid against the Nordbo Government!

29 October 2018 10:15| Berlin, German EmpireEarlier this week, the Danish revolutionaries finally liberated the city of Kopenhag, finally wrestling the last vestiges of NSP control on the Danish Scandinavian territories. The Danish Interim Government has pledged to hold a referendum as early as November 1, and has already formed as a separate Nation-State. To follow, the Swedish and Norwegian revolutionaries took to attacking the now-weakened Nordbo military in a renewed vigor. The Spokesman for the Swedish Revolutionaries requested aid specifically from the Seigerpakt, and so Chancellor Merkel, president of the International Alliance, called for an emergency meeting earlier today.
The Meeting itself will be held in Königsberg, Germany, where representatives from Germany, Austria, Frievolk, Iran, Israel, Syria, Vermont, and the Baltic Republic will debate on whether or not to aid the Swedes in their revolutionary ambitions. A Further debate on Denmark, Norway, and the fate of the Nordbo Socialist Republic will probably be held, as well as a discussion on possible outcomes of the Persian-Arabian war, as that seems to be close to an end.

The relatively small dominion with almost one million population voted for the first democratic government of their history as a Frievolker Dominion, after 123 days under Military Government. The Election, which saw a 43% turnout (not our highest, but nothing out of ordinary for a people just out of a war) marked the first time in The Political History of Frievolk where a Far Right party with Ethnic-Nationalist views has found popularity in votes. It is unclear whether or not this is a fluke, but the Party of Home and Culture has already introduced its 3 ministers to The constitutionalists' six, and the New Directorate of the Frievolker Karibb will be formed on 1 November 2018.

With the regency formed again as a Regent Council, the Parliament of Piedmont has convened in an emergency meeting to decide on the future of the Kleinstaat. By succession laws and rule of the House of Berun, Manulito's crown will be inherited by the current Head of the house of Berun, who is Manulito's overlord in terms of nobility. The Current head of house is our Emperor, Kaiser Johann, who has yet to announce if he has any intention of taking said crown or not. Provided this is followed through, Piedmont will be in Personal Union with Frievolk, ruled independently but by the same head of state.
This position is supported by a plurality of the Parliament, but therein lies the problem. Another Plurality of the Parliament wishes for a reunification with the Savoyard Italy, claiming that Piedmont being the ancestral home to the current crown and originally having played a key part in Italy's unification, The Piedmont should be returned to the larger Kingdom of Italy and ruled under the House of Savoy. It is clear, of course, that while the Head of the House of Berun has yet to protest against this action, it may be seen as an act of aggression against Constitutional Law, The Peace of London, and the very Charter of the World Assembly itself.
The Parliament of Piedmont is expected to hold at least five more sessions of debate over this matter before making a decision, and Der Telegraf pledges to keep our loyal readers updated on this new chapter of crises in Southcentral Europe.

Austria refuses to move back military, delivers ultimatum to Venetia and Croatia!

Essentially militarizing its southernmost borders with both the Croatian Republic and Venice, the Austrian Kanzler Sebastian von Bellen has recognized and confirmed Austrian mobilization of its military and has cited a claim over Istria, as well as Venetian Adriatic Coast as "Rightful German-Austrian territory".
The Austrian Chancellor, in the same press release, announced a verbal ultimatum to both Croatia and Venice to deliver the aforementioned lands or face military action, with only 60 hours to respond. In an eerily similar action to what they originally attempted in the July Crisis of 1918 with the Kingdom of Serbia, Austria has delivered an almost impossible-to-achieve ultimatum -we assume that this ultimatum has also been delivered by their diplomats- and prepared for war.
Unlike the July Crisis, however, the French, the British, and the rest of Croatia and Venetia's allies in the Entente have refused to send aid, and Emperor Henry stating that "Austria's claim is legitimate, this time" as the commander-in-chief of the Entente, while Austria's allies in Seigerpakt have also refused to send in any aid. The German Chancellor Merkel has openly stated that she will "Condemn Austria's attempt at imperialism almost a century after its death", while Reikskanzler Harlow's personal response was "As long as it doesn't end into another bloody war for all of us, The Eastern Realm is free to do with their army and their diplomacy as they wish."
It is almost clear that another war in Western Europe will take place, possibly for the first time since 1946, but it is expected to be short, comparing the two belligerent's militaries, that is to say as long as this does not wake the imperial ambitions of Serbia, or ignite the powder keg that is The Balkans.

This shift of balance in the Dietary politics has, reportedly, been caused due to the Absolutist Party's refusal to take their opinion into account while opposing the Government's movements.
The Grand Imperial Party, which has thus far 3 seats in Fursthaus and another 15 in Volkshaus in the early elections of the Oversees territories of the Empire, has openly left the coalition, effectively crippling The Absolutist Party's control over the Imperial Diet. As of now, the party has not yet declared for any side, and given the small amount of time left until the Election can be held in December, it is not probably for this to throw a wedge in Dietary Politics. It is, however, left to see how this will shift the political poles in the next election.

2 November 2018 17:00 | Lienz, Austrian EmpireWith only 7 hours left before the Austrian Ultimatum to Venetia and Croatia expires, the two countries have found themselves helpless against the Habsburg Imperial ambitions as the Entente and the Seigerpakt have reached a compromise regarding the situation. A Compromise that, of course, does not benefit neither of the two Kleinstaaten.
Chancellor Merkel of Germany, President of the Seigerpakt, announced yesterday in Königsberg that The Pact would not interfere with Austrian Affairs as long as no power entered the war on either side, and The Entente Spokesman in Prime Minister May of Britain, in a show of compromise that may have doomed Croatia and Venetia both, announced a few hours later in Paris that the Entente had issued an Alliance-wide order of "Non-aggression regarding the situation in the Adriatic".
Emboldened by the apathy of the World Powers and the lack of care by the other Great Powers, Austria has already prepared for the incoming invasion of both countries. From an outsider's standpoint, it is not likely that the 70,000 total active and reserve personnels of Venice and Croatia can mount a powerful enough offensive against the 120,000 troops strong army that Austria has already brought to their shared border.

As the audience may recall, I published an article regarding my theories and opinions on this war as early as 3 August, but even I did not expect it to be this close to what might be true. Our readers will recall that Frievolker support of Iran in the Crisis at Bahrain was what gave the United African States the casus belli to join on Arabia's side. Originally, I -like every other patriotic citizen of our great Empire- expected this to have been a normal cause and effect. Countries tend to throw in their lots based on ideological reasons all the time, after all, but given the lack of African troops in the Middle East, the main theatre of war so far, it seems that
I had been wrong. The Frievolker Navy commenced a mass blockade of all Atlantic African Coasts effective immediately on the first of November, and as anothor Krigsflotte moves to reinforce the now-4-months-long blockade on its Indian Coastline, more than 23 divisions of our army are moving for Natal, province of Cape, which is 3 more divisions than any concentrated number of units sent to any single location this last 60 years, since Frievolk's expeditionary force in the War on Apartheid more than 23 years ago.
Is this, perhaps, a war for colonial reclamation? Add this to the aforementioned ASME press release, and the picture, and the answer to our question, becomes more and more clear. Yes. Yes is it.

As readers know, the Empire's legislation has historically always been dominated by the Absolutist and Constitutionalist parties. Aside from a small period of time during His Imperial Majesty Arnold's reign, and then in early Bernard era, the two rival parties always held at least 49% of the total seats of the Reiksdiät. This trend seems to have been challenged.
It is clear, of course, that despite this dramatic shift, the two major parties will still maintain the highest individual seats on their own, but on the first election since the proclamation of the Empire in 18 October 2015, a number of parties previously underrepresented or unpopular have shown to gain a rise in popularity. The most controversial of these is Heimat und Kultur, an ethnic nationalist and far right reactionary party that was, at different points in our history, even banned from entering the parliament. HuK had maintained a lack of popularity since its foundation in accordance to the invention of The Roman Ideology in 1932, but it has managed to succeed in an election in the Karibb dominion, becoming the minor member of a Coalition with the still-powerful Constitutionalists. The one Furst seat that this victory will award them is one more than the most they've ever managed to achieve before this election.
Another the Grand Imperial Party. While it had been member of a coalition with the more powerful Absolutists for 25 years, GKP has, since the reestablishment of Weltpolitik as the nation's main foreign policy, seen a progressive rise in popularity. In contrast, the previously popular Green Party has lost its grace and is not projected to be in the political frontrunners of the election next month.

3 November 2018 13:00 | Lienz, Austrian EmpireAfter the short crisis of militarization in Austria, Croatia, and Venetia's borders, and the failure of either Croatia or Venetia to respond to Austria's dramatic ultimatum, the Austrian Empire officially declared war on the two countries in 9 am of the third of November, an event that was only responded to by apathetical condemnations by the Entente and the Pact. almost 30 hours after this declaration of war, the Austrian military has already succeeded in occupying all of the Istrian Coasts of Croatia, also moving a sizable force to Zagreb, Northern Croatia, which is said to be defended by most of the small Croatian military.
Austria's official Order of Battle, as released by their Ministry of War, states that only 121,500 soldiers have been mobilized for war and has not drafted any of its reserves for combat, while the respective Venetian and Croatian OrBats all state the complete mobilization of their reserves, reaching a number of 70,000; still barely more than half of that of the Empire. Destruction in all besieged territories is reported by WA, Entente, and Pact investigators to be minimal as the Austrian forces focus only on occupation without confrontation.

The Reiksprävent vessel, which was christened Kravlau, hosts 8 divisions and 4 air fleets of the Empire which will be added to the Rapid Reaction Roster. Kravlau has been in construction for the last 4 years, and was only released today in response to the Persian-Arabian Threat. While the Empire has pledged not to use its Skybases, Kravlau and its military will be deployed to the Indian Ocean for the time being in order to help the Invasion and Occupation Forces of the Middleman Entente in the region.

The Station, named Himmelsaugen (The Eye of the Sky) is currently a stationary Military platform that will only be used as an offensive stage for orbital bombardments. A Considerable size of the Empire's nuclear stockpile has been moved to the Orbit, as well as thousands of Divine Rods that will be used against an aggressor in the event of a future war.
The World Assembly, at the behest of the Commonwealth of Vermont, has begun a debate session regarding the legality and status of Orbital Platforms. The debate will be partially about whether or not the Erdwächter be allowed to hold orbital weaponry for use against enemies, and partially for whether or not individual platforms not affiliated with the WA be allowed to use such weapons. It is unlikely that a decision will pass to ban our weaponry, seeing as the Empire has pledged to veto any such decision on conception, but this does set a terrible precedent. How much power is too much?

Active Conscription Abolished, Reserve system restated.

Active Conscription was officially abolished, and the Realm's conscription status has been changed to reserve. The Empire of course requires all of-age citizens to see 3 months of basic training in handing weapons, basic military orders, and general daily use maneuvers, both for military and civilian use, however, following the aforementioned Dietary decision, the mandatory service of soldiers ends on the 3 months mark. The reserve will include all those who have been trained in the last ten years, and will only be called into action in the event of mobilization or open invasion of Frievolker lands. This law will not effect the service of those already spending their mandatory service, and will come into effect on 17 January.

The Schengen Area, named after the agreement signed in Schengen, Frievolk, is the term normally used to describe the Open Border zone between the signatories of teh Schengen Agreement, which were Germany, Frievolk, Britain, Netherlands, Austria, and Piedmont. The Argument is to extend the borders of the area all across the Western and Central Europe, only excluding the Balkans and the Russian Buffer zone in the Ukraine and Belarus. This movement is backed by Germany, Frievolk and Netherlands, while Austria, Piedmont, and Britain oppose it. Should the Schengen Area be redrawn, It is expected that the Empire's relationship with France, Germany, and Netherlands be improved, which may help ease the recent tensions in Brabant-Limburg.

The Venetian Doge announced the nation's unconditional surrender, and allowed entry of the city to the victorious Austrians.
As the Austro-Venetian negotiations begin -though, it is unlikely for there to be any negotiations, given the difference in size, power, and prestige of the two sides- the Austrian Army has held a victory parade in front of the Ducal Palace of Venice, marching in unison and formation to establish the supremacy of the Great Power on its lesser counterpart. The Austrin dominion is expected to find its way to the Adriatic Coasts through both Istria and Venetian territory following the official peace between Venice, Austria, and Croatia.

The House of Nassau, Keizer Willem-Alexander's royal house, recently became the victor of the Royal Election of Poland-Lithuania, defeating various other candidates including Joanna of the house of Berun, Joseph Wenzel of the house of Wittelsbach and Herman-Walter of Habsburg. A total number of sixteen Royal or Noble Houses in Europe and the Americas have attended the Ceremony, with another twenty expected to leave for the state by November 13, when the coronation ceremony itself will be held. Serbia's last attempt to carve an Empire out of the bickering Balkan States was met with violent reaction by every power around it, and the country has not, since then, performed any military action, though it has progressively and gradually increased its military spending, the current spending and size almost 380% more than what it was in 1991.
The nations of Austria, Greece, and Italy have all officially joined the Bucharest Initiative, an informal coalition against Serbian aggression and expansionism that is led by Romania in Bucharest. With the addition of these three states (two of them, Great Powers), it is very possible that Croatia and Bulgaria will also join the larger international Pact and officially turn the Initiative into one of the Pact's smaller regional factions. The fact that the now-defeated Croatia is effectively under Austria's puppethood does not help clear this possibility.

13 November 2018 16:40 | Sofia, BulgariaThe Bulgarian President Radev officially announced that the Republic of Bulgaria, one of the two non-aligned nations in the Balkan region, had accepted the invitation from the Seigerpakt High Command, and had joined the Military Alliance as an equal. Bulgaria, ever since its short attempt at domination in the first world war, and then its crushing defeat in the second, had been, for the most part, shy to join any of the three factions. So shy, in fact, that even Yugoslavia, despite its system's similarity to many nations in The Internationale, had refused to join any of the three sides in the Reconstruction. This 72 year long neutrality was, however, put to an end when the Bulgarian Republic joined the Seigerpakt alongside many other countries, some of which making most of the nation's neighbors.
This of course brings the Pact to a tremendously advantageous position in the Balkans. The Entente's sole representative in the region, the Republic of Croatia, recently announced that it would leave the international coalition following the faction's failure to aid it in a war against the Austrian Empire. Of the six countries that make the Balkans, only two countries are not an informal or formal member of the Pact, one is the aforementioned Croatia, and the other; Serbia, the Balkan Black Sheep, against which a formal coalition has been formed between all of its neighbors. It is yet unclear whether or not this will be announced, but it is clear that the Bucharest Innitiative is a regional division of the Seigerpakt in all but name.

King Manulito of Piedmont passes away at sleep, Piedmonter Parliament to decide on succession in an emergency meeting

He had earlier fell ill in 31st of October, and with no heir, the Parliament of Piedmont had been forced to temporarily announce the throne vacant until a decision could be met. While the Parliament officially announced that a minimum of ten sessions of debate would be required before any decision could be put to vote, the ill and aged King of Piedmont did not see fit to give them enough time after the sixth session was held yesterday.
Manulito son of Armando Manuelo, First Beruner King of Piedmont who was crowned such in the Conference of London, April 1946, had been the king of Piedmont for almost 48 years, and has now passed away peacefully with no heir, leaving the Parliament to immediately decide on what to do in an emergency session that will be held today. There seem to be two major sides about this debacle. About 47% of the Parliament has expressed their wish to enjoin the Frievolker Empire in a Personal Union under Kaiser Johann, who as the Head of the House of Berun, is the most next in line to the throne. Another 46.6%, however, cite that the Kaiser's status as a Head of another State bars him from becoming the Piedmonter Head of State, instead wish to return to Italy, who's Savoyard rulers have historically come from Piedmont.
King Manulito's funeral is to be held on 16th of November, and the new King of Piedmont, whoever it is, will be crowned on 18th of November, as is the tradition, only crowning a new king three days after the abdication of the last.

Iberia had been under a heavy embargo and sanctioning campaign by a powerful Coalition of Nations in the World Assembly. The Coalition, with members across the three Larger Factions, including those on the Security Council, had put one sanction and embargo after the other on the guilty nation ever since the Royal Decree was announced four years ago, a campaign so specified that by October 2018, the only commodities not under sanction or embargo were medicine. The price of Iberian Reale had fallen to 289 IR for 1 G by April 2018, and was only falling lower. The WA's General Assembly has agreed to progressively cut back the sanctions in order to ensure that Iberia will not restate the Civil Right infringement upon the erasure of international pressure.

The Parliament decided so with about 63% of the attended representatives voting in favor of joining the Empire as a personal union, and another 43% voting for a readmittal into the larger Kingdom of Italy. The Kaiser flew to Piedmont's Turin yesterday to attend King Manulito's funeral as the head of the deceased king's Royal House, and was officially crowned the new King in the Palace of Venaria. Kaiser Johann mentioned, in his coronation speech, that he would proceed to leave the governance of the Small Kingdom to its Parliament, and that he will not make his home in the Palace of Venaria. The Kingdom of Piedmont has, in every sense of the word, become the junior member under a Personal Union with the Frievolker Empire. What this event will have for the Nederstjille, we can only wait to see.

Cascadia fails to pay Mexican-Hansfunder debt, gets partitioned by the two powers.

The Commune, one of the two members of the Internationale in the American Continent, had officially declared bankruptcy a few years earlier in 2009. The State had taken loans from a number of countries, of which include the Mexican Empire, the United States of America, the American Union, and what was, at that point, the Dominion of Canada. It was given a larger timeframe to return its loans, overseen by the American Council of States as early as 2011. Even far into late 2015, when Canada became Hansfund, the first of the Dominions of the Frievolker Empire, Cascadia had failed to produce any capitol to pay the powers with. The American Union and the United States of America both had decided to relinquish their loans, and even Mexico had decided to give it time.
That time came to an end this September. Mexico and the Frievolker Empire independently filed a complaint against the country in The Hague, and overseen by the WA, a new compromise was met. The Mexican and Frievolker militaries made way into Cascadia at the dawn of 18th of November, after yet another two months of grace, and following an immediate occupation of the Cascadian territories, General Zepada of Mexico and Großmarschall Kuhn of the Frievolker Empire met in Los Angeles, the Capital of Cascadia. The joint press release officially announced that the Cascadian territories in the Greater California and Nevada would be annexed by the Mexican Empire due to their claim on the land since the Mexican-American war of 1846-48, and that the territories in Washington and Oregon would be annexed by the Frievolker Empire, added into the Dominion of Hansfund. The Two states also announced that the State of Cascadia, which had been de facto ceased to exist by this partitioning, would be de jure abolished as well. This was overseen by the World Assembly's Security Council, and approved by in the General Assembly. As of 18 November 2018, the State of Cascadia which has existed, de facto since 1936 and de jure since 1946, no longer exists.

Officially a legally binding command from the Head of the State to ban communication with a person in any form by all those who owe allegiance to the United Nederstjill Church (After the Union Act of 1870, all businesses and persons in the nation are required to owe allegiance to the Church, regardless of personal belief), the Beruner Excommunication was a very rare punishment, saved only for the most horrible crimes -treason of highest order, collusion with an enemy at wartime, etc.-, this punishment was not used ever since the Grey Glasgow event of 1907, when an Irish immigrant in the Kingdom of Frievolk attempted to forge Royal assent for a pledge to aid Irish independence against the British Empire. The result of this event, which led to a 9 months long Diplomatic Crisis that almost resulting in a war only averted by the compromise that led to this Excommunication. In truth, the total number of Excommunications by the United Nederstjill Church can be counted in a single hand.
A recent event in June 2018 once again raised the question about Excommunication. Arnaud Favreau, a Belgian member of the Imperial Diplomatic Corps to Libertalia was accused to colluding with the infamous pirates, promising them full return of the territories now under Frievolker Karibb in exchange for information stolen from the USS America, a US Capital Ship that Libertalians had recently acquired in a raid. This attempt, obviously, did not reach success, but it did raise the question, as a considerable minority in the Imperial Diet called for an Excommunication of Mr. Favreau. While this motion failed to reach a majority, it raised the question on abolishing of the cruel and unusual punishment, a compromise was reached, and a Referendum in December will reveal to the nation whether or not this punishment will continue to be legal.
With Capital Punishment and Corporal Punishment also having been banned by the Diet in the recent few months, and with the rising rhetoric against long-term imprisonment in the Imperial Diet, another question that has risen is whether or not "penal colonies" should be mandated by the Empire in uninhabited islands under the Empire's control.

Of this nine, four were food-based companies, three agriculture based, and the last two the largest Supermarket Chains in the Empire.
While automation has been slowly and steadily replacing menial labor, this level of sudden shift is unprecedented, both for the Empire and for the world. A great number of the laid off workers have protested this decision, sending complaints to local labor courts, but it is unlikely for the court to demand said companies to roll back their recent changes. With the number of unemployed reaching the highest in decades, the Welfare -and the recently formed Secretariat of Public Sphere- will be hit the hardest, and there is a possibility that taxes may rise to compensate, at least temporarily.

The five remaining nations of the pan-continental nation officially met on 20th of Octber, and announced the official dissolution of the Internationale. Sixteen hours later, the same nations met with a number of non-aligned, Pakt, and Entente-aligned nations in Tokyo, Japan, to negotiate the formation of a new organization to replace the Internationale in the interest of halting any possible Duopoly between the Entente and the Pact.
"The Internationale, much as it shames me to say so, was corrupt, inefficient, and not very good at doing what it was originally founded to do." The Chinese Syndic Li Keqiang announced in one of the press releases of this meeting, "When we founded the third Internationale, we expected that nations of Socialist, Syndicalist, Communard, Communist and similar labor-respecting ideologies would be able to gather together, even if only in order to hinder the process of dupolization of the world between the British-aligned Entente and the German-aligned Pact. It is clear that this organization has failed to reach any level of this goal with success. In the last forty years, we have only seen our numbers decrease. It is clear now that if the Workingmen of the World want to hinder the liberal retardation of the Entente or the Imperialist Ambitions of the Pact, we may need to exercise pragmatism as Marx himself once did. I can safely say it now that by the power invested in me by th other members of this once-proud alliance, I hereby announce the Third International Workingmen's Association to be dissolved."
While it is not exactly clear what a future organization may be, it is obvious that Japan, China, and Russia, despite the three World Powers' difference in ideology, may be serious about forming a new Faction and voting bloc in the World Assembly. If one thing is clear, it is that should this come to fruition, the current order of things may be violently and chaotically changed.

23 November 2018 17:43 | New York City, New England CommonwealthFollowing backlash regarding the international coverage of The Pagan Union's ritualistic sacrifice of a Serbian Christian Missionary who had been arrested while trying to convert the population, Thule was taken to the Hague international Court regarding the safety of international missionaries. In a surprising twist, Arabia, Fararud, Georgia and Burma individually agreed with the Pagan theocracy regarding whether or not missionary work had any right to be legal anymore.
The World Assembly took vote for a resolution to condemn Thule, but it failed with more than three-quarters of the votes voting against a condemnation. A Second proposal to ban Proselytism was also taken to vote, but that too failed with a near-miss. Eventually, the third resolution, a compromise that did not mention general missionary work, reached a majority. As of 23 November 2018, State-funded proselytism is officially against International law and any breaking thereof is a recognized as a justified Casus Belli by the WA, furthermore, while Missionary work has not been legalized or criminalized, it is obvious that the safety and health of a Missionary is not legally protected, and is subject to the laws of the nation they are performing their actions in.

25 November 2018 11:25 | Berun, Frievolker EmpireToday, an unusually gleeful Klein von Valtenz, Secretary of Infrastructure, made an official announcement regarding a recently passed Dietary Act that he, as well as Mathilda zu Ostmark, Secretary of Economy, had warned the Diät against.
The Imperial Diet recently took a vote regarding an act concerning Public Connection to the International Network, officially making it a Governmental duty to oversee the matter of public Network Hotspots as they are included in its duty to "oversee the establishment, use, improvement, and safety of the National Communicative Infrastructure". This, of course, was later Interpreted to mean that similar to providing public postal service, providing public connection to the International Network was a duty of the Government.
The Secretariat of Economy and the Secretariat of Infrastructure have both repeatedly warned the government of the expenses such an ambitious project will take, projecting it to effect taxation dramatically, which had been a point of argument between the Kabinet and the Diät for more than four months. Apparently, the Kaiser has today brought the two branches to a compromise by promising to provide for this project out of The Private Treasury of the House of Berun.
"It is not acceptable for the Crown to have this money and still allow its equivalent to be taken from the Volk when we can pay for it" Kaiser Johann remarked, "It may be a dramatic expense, but it will not affect the House of Berun in any everlasting shape, unlike what I have been told it would if it was forced out of the pocket of the Citizens of the Realm we live in. Thus, I am hereby pledging to De Reik, de Volk, und de Diät to provide for it without any expectation of reimbursement."
While Royal funding of public projects are in no way something new, it is projected that providing fast, secure Public Connection free of charge would create a dramatically larger dent in a treasury than any public revival project, even a treasury as large and unbelievably vast as that of the House of Berun. This Internet Connection will only be provided in public places that face a large regular crowd every day, and private citizenry can, and possibly will, continue to provide for their own connections at their own expense, through private enterprise, as has been the norm until now.

More than 13 countries have already sent delegates with diplomatic powers to join, or create a new Faction, as seems to be the eventual goal of the Convention. Added to that, a number of countries and organizations have sent 'observer' delegates as well (The Majority of the World Powers and the Great Powers, as well as the World Assembly itself) to what seems to be the largest single meeting of countries not for a Seigerpakt or Entente annual meeting. In truth, a number of the members of both the Entente and the Pact have similarly sent delegates to the meeting for negotiations.
This seems to be the result of the recent dissolution of the Internationale. While India immediately asked to join the Entente and while the Australasian Federation petitioned membership of the Pact, China, Bolivia, and Burma seem to have taken being part of this meeting very seriously, As has The non-aligned World Power in Russia. It is obvious that should this new organization be formed, It will immediately rise to compete with the Entente and the Pact at an international level.
The Following nations have sent delegates to Tokyo: The United African States, The American Union, Belarus, Bolivia, Burma, China, Iberia, Korea, Norway, Russia, Serbia, Thule, and Venetia. Of these fourteen nations, two are members of the Worldwide Entente, and more than one is considered a "pariah state" by the World Assembly. It is not clear how this meeting and convention will end, but it is clear that it will have disorienting, possibly crippling results on the Current International Status Quo.

The Schengen Area, named after the agreement signed in Schengen, Frievolk, is the term normally used to describe the Open Border zone between the signatories of the Schengen Agreement, which were Germany, Frievolk, Britain, Netherlands, Austria, and Piedmont. The European Parliament today accepted to further expand this area to encompass France, Italy, Romania, Poland-Lithuania, and Iberia.
The Schengen Area creates an open border for migration, travel, and trade between all nations in the borders thereof. Added to the individual treaties between member-nations of the Agreement (to be drafted and signed against by the current roster of accepted member in Schengen at an as-of-unknown date), an open border seems to exist between the nations of Frievolk, Netherlands, Austria, Germany, France, Iberia, The Berber Confederation, The Piedmont, Venetia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Poland-Lithuania, The Baltic Nation, Italy, Israel, Syria, Iran, and India, effectively overtaking the majority of the European Continent, as well as various near allies of the continent.

29 November 2018 10:50 | Antananarivo, FranceThe African Union finally accepted the Frievolker offer of a ceasefire which had been delivered as early as late October when Riyadh, and Arabian Africa, had fallen. With heavy casualties (The Imperial General Staff reports that it expects almost two hundred thousand African soldiers to have been killed in action in the offensives in Kenya and Natal) and their capital having been fallen, the African Government in Johannesburg announced that they had accepted the Imperial offer. An armistice was signed in Johannesburg at exactly 09:00 29 November 2018, and all Frievolker and Iranian military units ceased combat by 10:30 of the same day, with the last bullet fired in 10:29 by an African soldier in The province of Kenya.
The now officially recognized Middleman's Entente has been in war with an "Anti-Persian Coalition" of Africa and Arabia since this June, after a diplomatic crisis over the ownership of Bahrain led to a full-blown military invasion of Iran by the Arabian Empire. More than 450,000 soldiers have been killed from the two sides (though the majority were from the African Union, which faced the majority of the heavier battles) and at least 712,000 soldiers have been Wounded in Action as well.
Six Coalition diplomats will meet the nine diplomats from the Middleman's Entente in the now-occupied city of Baghdad, where negotiations over peace, territorial changes, and an exchange of prisoners of war will take place.

28 November 2018 19:23 | Berun, Frievolker EmpireFollowing the New Penal Policy enacted by the Penal Reformation Act of November 27, more than 107 prisons across the empire, the majority in Hansfund, have been emptied and prepared for repurposing or demolition. The 215,000 prisoners that inhabited these facilities will face new punishments according the new penal law. At least 175,000 of them are expected to be released, either completely or after a short period of reintegration. Of the remaining 40,000, about 31,000 will be sent to community service in different capacities, while the rest will face their new fate in the Newly established Penal Territories.
The Penal Reformation Act (Strafreformakt v. 27 Nov) officially abolished long-term and permanent imprisonment, dramatically shortened shorter prison terms (decreasing the maximum amount of time to 3 weeks), decriminalized the majority of what the Country had seen as crimes, while adding the new "Penal Territory" exile punishment for crimes that do not give one a possibility for reintegration, such as sexual assault, repeated domestic abuse, and murder.
Crimes will be classified under three Classes: The A-class crimes, such as Rape, murder, sexual assault, repeated abuse, treason, or attempt thereof will be punished with exile into one of the newly established Penal Territories, mostly in the Frievolekr possessions in the Pacific Ocean. These criminals will be contained within the borders of the penal colonies, under constant but passive monitor by the Imperial Warforce, only to be extracted and reintegrated in certain cases where they are proven innocent by evidence after their trials or in certain cases.
The B-class crimes, such as most types of violent theft, assault, etc. will be punished by short-term imprisonment in a number of facilities (25 across the empire) for a period no longer than 3 weeks, after which they will be reintegrated into society.
The C-class crimes, such as non-violent theft, et al, will be punished by staying a maximum of 3 days in Police holding cells, after which they will be reintegrated into society. All crimes less severe than C-class (i.e. Internet Piracy, etc.) have officially been decriminalized.
The new Penal Code will be put to a test period, and will be accepted if the results are deemed acceptable.

One of the many pieces of information released by this, as of yet, incomplete results of a Nation-wide census is that with 1,835,000 members, the Catholic Church is the smallest national religious plurality in the Empire.
While not necessarily the smallest belief (as of yet, that title belongs to Mormons, with a total of 250), the historically unpopular Nederstjill Catholic Church (formed in result of the Treaty of Westphalia) is now the smallest religious community with a church native to the Frievolker Confederation. Similarly, a total number of 2,365,000 have reported to identify as a "Pagan", "Heathen", "Neo-Pagan", or similar other beliefs that were all classified as "Heathenry" in the Report. The majority of the Catholics belong to the Southern Frievolksland, while the majority of the Heathens are native to a more progressive Hansfund, though the Metropole also holds a sizable 950,000 large heathen community.

The Himmelsaugen, which holds at least 33.3% of the National Nuclear Stockpile, alongside more than 32,750 Divine Rods with a capability of orbital launch upon direct order, is the most powerful weapon in the Imperial Armed Forces. The announcement of her release upon becoming operational on November 6 sprung about the earliest debate on Modern Weapons of Mass Destruction on the World Assembly, though no results were reached and no votes taken.

The Original meeting, held by China, Burma and Bolivia upon the abolition of the Internationale began on 20th of November, making this unofficial, popularly dubbed "Non-Aligned Forum" officially 15 days old.
Multiple Nations have switched sides, with Australasia joining the Seigerpakt, India returning to the Worldwide Entente, American Union and Venetia leaving the Entente, while multiple Non-aligned Great and World Powers having sent delegates to the Forum. The Worldwide Entente held an official meeting to debate over this on the 1st of December, and the Pakt is very likely to follow suit.
While originally merely an opinion piece, it is very likely and probable for a new "Brotherhood of Nations" to be formed, as many of her original members (Russia, Japan, Iberia) taken the forum seriously, two of which still hold the same political regime as they did in the 1930s when the Brotherhood was formed. Germany, New England, and Britain have individually announced that they are not willing to tolerate a major disruption of World Peace by any political body, and if the new faction, whatever it may be, ends up disrupting peace, it should and will expect "consequences" on an unprecedented scale.

5 November 2018 10:15 | Baghdad, IranThe six-months long war between Iran, Arabia, and their respective allies has finally been put to a close with an official treaty.
Originally started after Arabia viewed Iran's claim on Bahrain as a diplomatic insult, the war may have been the final turning point for a centuries long bitter rivalry between the respective peoples of Iran and Arabia, and it appear that indeed it has come to a bitter, decisive close.
Despite the fact the peace was only followed by an "Armistice", rather than an unconditional surrender, various political theorists believe that it would probably have resulted in a milder treaty if Arabia and Africa had surrendered unconditionally when Iran demanded so in late October. Apart from a hefty sum as reparations, Africa has been forced to cede a considerably large part of its territory making almost all of the Geographic region of "Southern Africa" to the Empire, something that may eventually come back to bite our "enlightened" administration in the behind in the future.
On the other hand, Arabia has almost been reduced to nothing. Of its original area of 6,653,044.3 km2, only the former region of "Kingdom of Arabia", less than one third of the "Arabian Empire" is left under its control, while larger swathes of its territory were taken and later divided between the victors. The Iranian Republic has claimed the provinces of Iraq, Trucial States, and Qatar, along with their original claim in Bahrain, while Syria, mostly due to its minimalist efforts, only took Asian Sinai and what is not considered "Jordan". As agreed upon in the Syrian-Israeli treaty signed earlier, Asian Sinai was delivered to the State of Israel mere hours after the signing of the treaty. The Empire, of course, has claimed a relatively smaller dominion in Eritrea, Djibouti, the territory of Aden, what was once known as Kuwait, and the Arabian possessions in the Persian Gulf.
Of course, this is not all that has happened. Egypt, as well as the remaining territory of the Southern Arabian Peninsula have been carved out of the Empire, given independence as The states of Egypt and "South-Arabia", the former under temporary protectorate of the British Empire while the latter under temporary protectorate of our own Empire. Arabia was forced to concede all of its oilfields and other resources to a Joint administration of the Middleman's Entente, denied the right to form a military, while the Middleman's Entente retains the right to veto any and all decisions the Civil government of Arabia makes. Iranian diplomat Sobhan Khashayarchi commented "Seriously, this treaty is ten times worse than even the Treaty of Turkemanchay, and I'm one of the people who called for a harsh treaty on Arabia in the first place!".
The War has finally ended, and the victory, some suggesting it to be one of the few in our history to be called an 'Everlasting Victory', has cost the Empire 20,004 of our brave soldiers, as well as five times that in injuries and billions of Guelders in destroyed life and property, though most of the property and monetary loss is expected to be returned via compensations and concessions by the end of the next year.

All that has changed today. A massive demonstration, though mostly non-violent and only containing of cutting chants and mottos, has overtaken the streets of Lower and Middle Berun. The protests seem to have a radical-liberal agenda, with chants protesting the Absolutist system of the city. Kronprinzin Gertrude has yet to comment on the protests, though the Kaiser and his immediate family have been moved out of the city, despite The Kaiser's personal preference against it.

The delegates of the 14 countries of China, Japan, Russia, The American Union, Korea, Iberia, Thule, Africa, Venice, Serbia, Bolivia, Norway, Burma, and Belarus have affirmed allegiance to a newly formed Alliance: The Brotherhood of Nations.
As our readers well know, the Brotherhood of Nations was originally formed by The Japanese Empire, the Iberian State, the Russian State, and the infamous "New Roman Empire" in the late Interwar period, and was one of the three main factions at play in the catastrophic Second World War, before its official and formal dissolution in the Treaty of London. For the majority of the Reconstruction Era and the contemporary era, the Brotherhood has remained a dark part of our shared past. However, the faction has been reformed again.
The Fourteen sovereign states, some of which newly formed, some rogue states, and some generally popular diplomatic hubs, have all confirmed their recognition of the Faction and have requested to the World Assembly to confirm its recognition of the alliance's existence.

Is Personal Infantry Armor the conclusion of the Armor/Infantry Paradigm?

8 December 2018 11:00 | Berun, Frievolker EmpireAs the reader knows, the clash between Armor and Infantry was one of the main paradigms of the former century. Until halfway into the First Weltkrig, Infantry had been the main branch of every military. Artillery was too immobile and Cavalry either too vulnerable or not fast enough. The British challenged this status quo by introducing Mark I, an invention that mixed Cavalry's mobility and Artillery's destructive capabilities. Armor quickly became a must in military doctrines, quickly replacing the now-dwindling Infantry.
Of course, the Second World War proved that Armor and Infantry were both necessary for a healthy military and that one would not survive without the other. Even then, Armor and Infantry rose side by side for the duration of the Reconstruction, and even early Contemporary Era. However, the normalization of New Flying Carriers, as well as the rising sun of Space Warfare, especially Orbital Platforms, has brought the new question: Is it finally time for Armor and Infantry to be combined?
While Powered Exosuits have always been a topic of military theory and even research and development, it was only after the creation of yet another dimension of Warfare that it has become necessary. Intelligent, Powered Armors may be necessary for the future of warfare, and it is only a question of who will discover them first.

Berun Protests end after two days

7 November 2018 19:45 | Berun, Frievolker EmpireThe Second widespread protest in the history of Berun ended a few hours earlier, after snap negotiations resulted in satisfaction for both sides.
Gertrude, Archduchess of Berun and Crown Princess of the Empire met with a group of representatives from the Liberal-radical Demonstration on 6th of December. Berun will, as of the treaty of Weißkron, join the rest of the Empire and finally cease its Absolutist model, retained even after the Constitutionalist Revolution. The people of the city will vote in to elect their own representation to the Reiksdiät in the election of 10 December.
"I am not going to be the person to restart a conflict that ended 142 years ago. It is only my surprise that the protests did not occur until so many years earlier. If Beruners want representation, they will get it." Crown Princess Gertrude was quoted in the Press Release that finally put and end to the protestations.
