Eventually, she ends her discussion, making Elizabeth turn to face the students in front of her with a suppressed horror still riddled on her.

"If I learned math like that, I would kill myself whatever means necessary," she finally said.

She tilts her head to the left and strokes her forehead hair swiftly, letting a huge nasal inhale run into her lungs. Silence roamed about for a few moments, as if the girls in front of them were inaudible to their ears. Then, glancing again at Keller, she finally roused up her confidence.

"At least you're out here, now. To get away from that radge-y country of yours for a while."

Keller wanted to explain that she was forced here, until a whistle cut her out. It was time to move on. It was eventual, anyways. As she sat at the assembly, listening to the speech being given, she wondered what people were starting to think about her. The next thing she knew, she was sitting at a table with a plate of roast beef and veggies and a cup of tea to drink. Getting her utensils ready, she tried to be neat and make a small piece to eat, without looking like a slob. Then again, she was getting paranoid again.

The town was nice looking, quaint with stone roads. A few automobiles drove by but everything seemed within walking distance around here. Signs pointed directions where shops and stores were and rows of houses could also be seen.

Marianne found the town to be a very nice place indeed, but very exotic. The air was brisk by her standards, not quite chilly but barely on the edge of warmth. She had seen such places mostly in the occasional movie or picture, but had rarely seen one in person. She saw a lot of more fair skinned people at the station. She herself had a distinctly olive tan, with dark curly hair partly in a high ponytail. Her physique was athletic but had changed recently from being stocky and chunky to being simply curvy.

Her mother and aunt were with her. They were looking around as well, but then her mother focused on her. “Darling, are you really sure you don’t want Aunt Sarai and myself to stay at a hotel or something in town? It’s just so far away from home.”

“I know Mama…” sighed Marianne. “And I know it will be challenging..none of our own people seem to be around at all. I don’t even know if any of these other girls are going to be friendly, but everyone says there will be friendly girls…”

“It’s supposed to be a very decent place, but I’m having second thoughts about how decent they’ll be. No shame if you want to withdraw, honey,” said Aunt Sarai.

"Those attending Redford Academy please set your bags here." A guide called out. "Those wanting to go now can go to the first car those wanting to wait the rest will be departing in the next 20 minutes!" Those that went were already returning students or students who were just out in town for whatever reason. But most of the new students were hanging back to wait for their guide. Marianne looked at her mother and Aunt, and with unshed tears glistening in her eyes she embraced and kissed each.

“Farewell, my dove, God go with you. Do not forget to write to us and Skype when you can…” her mother said, holding her and then stepping away.

“Goodbye, darling. Make lots of friends, give thanksgiving for all the devotion and hope placed in you...we will never cease to remember you or to wish we could be near to talk with you. Do not hesitate to contact us…”

With endearments and embraces she parted reluctantly, both eager to be away and yet very nervous to be away, she forced herself to move away with declarations of love for her mother and aunt.

Marianne began to head towards the station. Her mother and aunt came with her, as she pulled her luggage on straps while on the other Julia, her dark Pharaoh Hound, who had her big sharp ears up alertly and sniffing with her long muzzle. Catching a whiff of another dog, she pulled a little on the leash, whining. Marianne gave a few soft clicks and Julia looked up at her with a quizzical expression.

"Advice?" Lamina asked, the request taking her a little off guard; advice really wasn't her thing...and what did she even want advice about, anyway? She glanced at the younger girl, trying to work out something in her facial expression...nothing was giving aside from the expected nerves.
"Uhm...advice about what. If it's about where to get a good drink I suppose only really our dorm, I've brought a load of brandy and some gin and vodka and the like with me, as well as some drinkable wine..." as she spoke, she had filled an empty cup up with some of the mentioned brandy from a container in her pocket, taking a few ice cubes with a long reach to one of the side serving areas and plonking them in. "I'm not really the royal you want to go to if it's advice you want. I make a lot of friends amongst the nobility, who all have their own little armies, plot with them about our next moves, and distract my family by drinking, dancing and smoking all the time. This place doesn't look good though, when I heard small town I didn't think like...tiny village. I go to a boarding school but it's very close to our largest city and more importantly I have a car."

Minutes into one scene of the movie, her peripheral vision caught the view of another girl sitting across from her. Immediately, Elizabeth turns her head up to look at her eating the beef. As she stares with much alert in her eyes, she renders herself still to contemplate. Eying both her and the phone so to avoid awkwardness, she breathes smoothly and silently, almost as though it were completely mute. Afterwards, she exits the video app, puts her phone away, and looks to the girl. Before she could converse with her, Elizabeth consumes another slice, giving out relief from her in the somewhat same degree as that of her first bite.

"Howzitgoin'," she then asked.

Amika let out a stretching yawn "Hey you got things handled, think I'd like to go eat, haven't eaten all day."

"Why haven't you eaten?" Elly-Mae asked with concern

"You know me, I can't eat before a speech. I've long had that nightmare about getting up to give a speech and --"

This made her close her eyes, and hum deeply to herself in sonorous note, before taking out her phone once more and pull up a Korean-language movie to watch with earbuds to satisfy her more.

Kuronami wrote:A loud whistle followed by a man calling, the local driver who split his time between shuttling elderly folks around and of course students to and from the school. "Attention all Redford Academy students, please line up and we will take you up to the school." It took a couple of shuttle buses to load everyone up but with the new batch of students they made the drive up to the school. It wasn't a terribly long drive, a few minutes but it gave a quick glance of the open scenic views. Once arrived several teachers called out "New students please follow to the Assembly Hall, returning students please report to Administration." It was repeated several times to ensure everyone heard it. The spacious assembly hall which also doubled as the school's gym was decorated to welcome new students banners put up by the student council. "Please file in and fill up each seat." the teachers directed guiding each student to a seat. Once settled in the school's headmistress took the podium allowing the students to quiet down. Thankfully they complied and she didn't have to use one of her more infamous tricks of getting attention.

"Welcome" She started then clearing her throat "Welcome to The Redford Academy for Young Ladies. I am Headmistress Chessman. Now I'll spare you the long history lesson because ideally you've read your student handbooks. You know and I know this school's long history of tradition and prestige but that's not what's important. Your education is what is. This year is special because this year we're welcoming a great amount of students all over the world. We hope your time here will go into shaping who you will be in your future. Some may be leaders of companies or nations, some will be mothers others will give care. Some of you may stay a semester others may walk on stage here to take your diplomas. Respect each other, learn from each other, support each other. We're excited to have you, thank you. Now may I introduce to you, your Student Council President who yes happens to be my own daughter, Elly-Mae Chessman."

A young lady took the podium after her mother stepped aside. "Thank you Headmistress. Welcome new students, I'm Elly-Mae and I am the Student Council President. When I started I was a quiet unassuming freshman. Then Student President Miyako Sawai an outgoing and friendly Sophomore, encouraged me to sign up. And so I did. Before long I was the Student Treasurer. Ensuring all funds from the School Student Store were properly accounted for. And for a while I was pretty at home there. But Miyako saw a lot in me. When she was getting ready to graduate she said I should run for president. And here I am today. I was born and raised here in this town but many of you like Miyako have come from far greater distances. In her case a Provence just to the east of us, for you, over vast oceans.

This is my senior year, I intend as your president to be the best for you, whether you are my peer or my junior and I hope that you will do the same. This began as a school for three sisters who only had each other for company. Then other high noble children came in. When the eldest sister was given the school she integrated it more so future students might have a greater understanding of their fellow countrymen. Now this year, we're going to have a greater understanding of students. Welcome again to our school. Sorry my speech was a little long winded, as I said math is my better subject than writing. Now my Vice President, Amika de Rozo will remind you of our conduct."

She traded places with a slightly younger girl, a young dark skinned girl from Kuronami's topics.

"Afternoon. Remember you have your books so I will be brief." She quickly went over the school's rules and conduct. "Remember we're here to help you if you need it and have questions. So please approach us even during meetings you may. Thank you. Alice."

Again trading places with another SC Girl, Alice Meyers, "Howdy! Ahem--" She regained her composure "Good afternoon. I''m Alice Meyeres I'm the Club Activities Officer. Tomorrow during lunch we'll be having clubs advertise so stop by anyone that catches your eyes. Ella." Trading places yet again was another girl "I'm Ella Stockton, I'm Treasure and in charge of the school store. The hours are printed in your manuals so feel free to come by if you are in need of something. If you wish to work in the shop also talk to me and I will get you set up. Back to you, Mis President."

"Thank you. Those are my senior officers of course I have my secretary whom I would be lost without, Yukiko Kotobuki, please take a stand. And of course can't forget our Press Officer, Blanka Burton. Now I'm being told to wrap things up, I'm sure you're hungry, I know I am so welcome again if you'll just in an orderly manner please head straight on down the hall you'll find the Student Commons and dinner will be served." She finished up allowing all students to go on to dinner.

The large hall where students gathered to eat with tables and benches lined up row by row. A que for students to dish up plates of whatever they desired really, light or more filling it was there. This evening special was roast beef with fresh steamed veggies, Tea, water, coffee, wine for the older students. With the exception of the Student Council which had their own special table, all the tables could be eaten by anyone. Doors lead outside the courtyard so students could enjoy outside after eating. Adding to the ambience, chandlers lined the ceiling. in times of old they would have been candle lit but today they're electric lights.

After an long time of waiting and long conversations. The bus appeared and it took the students to the school, and Amelie must say that it was fun and interesting the short ride.
After that there she was, Redford Academy, the academy she wanted to come for end her studies. An beautiful building was and she hoped to have great memories on it.

Amelie and the rest were led to the assembly hall in where the new students would be given their welcome to the school by the headmaster and the student council. The welcome was the standard one in all schools and so here the same, after all this was an old noble school so the history of it would be in place and it was like an Le Monde speech.

However the council explained somethings and she was glad they did, thinking about it, D'Elise thought it might be an good idea to involve herself on the school politics after she joins an club and she is completely settled down on the academy.

After an time, dinner was on the way and the girls were led to an great hall in where they would sit and enjoy the food. The appearance of the hall was beautiful and it looked that the building was wery well cared.

Now with her food and coffee on hand, she now needed to go and find an table to sit with someone. Options were some much and there was the group of Fiore and Mona or sit with someone on her own. In the end it was decided that she would be better sitting with her roomates.

"Here goes nothing" She said walking to that table. "Excuse me but is this table full or if there is an place remaining??"

She took that the conversation was about pets and siblings. She swallowed her last bite down and said, "Well, I'm the youngest out of five children ..." She skipped the details on it and continued, "We have a cat and a dog - and yes, contrary to popular belief, this can work well. In fact, they even share their food. They have lived peacefully next to each other for six years now. We also used to have a guinea pig, but that's another story." She shrugged.
Amelie now joined in, asking for a free spot. Britta was sure that no one would mind their roommate sitting with them.
Britta pointed around the free spots at the table with a vague gesture and said, "From what I can see, the table isn't full yet. Unless some of us brought their invisible friends, that is." She grinned.
Since Lillorainen's geography is currently being overhauled a 'tiny' bit, most information on it posted before December 12, 2018, is not entirely reliable anymore. Begining to eat, Amelie begun to eat her food as she took her coffee, odd combination but she was just eating something of breakfast on the dinner. And it was delicious.
"This is delicious" she said with an very happy face. "So Britta what made you come to Redford??"

Indeed, it was delicious. Britta had a few other bites and washed the last one down with a sip of water.
She thought about Amelie's question a few seconds, then she answered, "Hm, how to say that ... it's much of a feeling that's hard to describe in English; it was the plain desire to see some place that's far off from anything used to. I've attended a boarding school back home, and I've travelled around a lot, but rarely abroad, apart from a few short vacation trips in some places around Lillorainen; otherwise all within. While it's nice to be able to say that one has been to all nine states of the Federation, I've sought something more different and more distant. There's a word for that in my mother tongue, it's called Fernweh, but the English language has no good word for it ... then I discovered this school's announcement, applied for an exchange, got accepted, and voilà - here we go."
This was only half the truth ... but for now, there was no further need to know for the others.
"How about you?" - she asked.
Since Lillorainen's geography is currently being overhauled a 'tiny' bit, most information on it posted before December 12, 2018, is not entirely reliable anymore. Until there's a new, proper factfile, everything you might need to know can be found here. Thank you. #RetconOfDoom (Very late update, 2020/08/30 - it's still going on ...)

Amelie was interested on Britta answer and her reasons. It looked like she wanted to leave home and expand her horizons, since she traveled around her nation, in this case Lillorainen.

"I see. Well looks like we both wanted to expand our horizons then" she says thinking an little to reply to Britta answer.

"Well my case is almost the same. I wanted to know new places more than what I saw on home, I mean my family is just an middle class one, but we always traveled around Mervay, if I include the travels made when I was selected by my school to represent them in national championships in history" Amelie said taking an little of her coffee as she remembered her time on Le Monde and Arcadia.

"I must include that my love for history always push me for go and know new nations and cultures or know their history and cultures more closer. Which was the case here, so when my profesors and my school headmaster told me of this program, I accepted the idea, presented my application and got accepted. And well here we are"

Britta continued eating and listened with interest, quickly seeing how similar Amelie's and her own reasons to come here were.
She nodded. "My great interest in history and foreign cultures was surely helpful, too" - she said. "Another good reason to come here. This is also why my teachers were very fond of that idea. My parents supported it, too ... I mean, since I rarely was at home, anyways, there isn't really a difference for them whether I'm in Vartrup, a hundred kilometers from home, or in Kuronami, several thousand kilometers from home." She had to snort. "We aren't rich, either, but we don't need to turn each penny twice, so it wasn't much of a problem."

Greater vakolicci haven wrote:"Advice?" Lamina asked, the request taking her a little off guard; advice really wasn't her thing...and what did she even want advice about, anyway?

Hana

"Well that's just it, if you know about the nobility then you're just the person I should speak to..." Hana replied, smiling shyly, "You see, Mary, the other Vionnan girl, is a Richmond. The Richmonds are an old family with a little castle and village called Callaster. The Richmonds gained their Viscountcy from the efforts of one man called Howard Richmond, he was a General."

Hana sighed, disappointedly. "General Richmond," She added, "Fought a battle at a place called Glaenarm and against all odds defeated the combined armies of Oxbridge and Ballaeter. Then he marched his army south and fought another battle at a place called Stowford. He crossed the river Clausach and fought the army of Saxondale. The army of my ancestor. Duke George II was Duke of Saxondale was defeated by General Richmond at Stowford and that war ended with him ousted by the Vionna-Frankenlischian King Edward. My father, Saints rest his soul, was the first Saxe-Wettin-Einhalt to hold a title for over one hundred years and I am his successor. These things happened so long ago, in the nineteenth century. But the Richmonds are responsible for my family's downfall, and I have no clue what to do..." Her monologue done, Hana slumped down on the bench, apologetically. Her face said 'I'm sorry for wasting your time' but her mouth did not, silently she sat for a reply.

Mary

"Well how's about that..." Mary said, "We've all such big families and such doting pets..." She was sincere, but something about her speech seemed eerie. Mary turned to Mona. "Tell me," She said, "We hear much of the Free Lands in Vionna and our nobles, my father especially, think very highly of your country. On account of the ships you built for us. Do you belong to a tribe? And do you hear much of us Vionnans?"
New Edom wrote:Unwerth laughed. “Such hen lobsters are the Vionnans. But then, every Vionnan is half a sodomite."

Putting 2 and 2 together to draw the conclusion religious headgear is allowed, Fatimah Al Gaddafi goes and puts on the hijab she always wears when she walks outside the school.

She then goes back to the dinner table.

I smiled.
It was always wonderful to hear, that people appreciated the services of SDY - I was not the greatest fan of the Harbour Area on account of SDY's Yards, but I was a Silverport Gal after all. I had even been present at the launching of several vessels, as a spectator.
If there had been any vessel for Mary's Homeland amongst them... I didn't know.
In any case, I replied: "Of course I do belong to a Tribe!", I said to Mary with a smile, "With full name, I'd introduce myself as Mona Tairseach of the Tribe of Wexford - one of the Lost Tribes, that is true, but a proud Tribe."
Better not mention, that there was only little said about Vionna in school... I did read up on its history a bit, though.
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.
My people are called the Selkie, the nation is usually called the Free Lands in MT-settings. Thanks.

Afterwards, she exits the video app, puts her phone away, and looks to the girl. Before she could converse with her, Elizabeth consumes another slice, giving out relief from her in the somewhat same degree as that of her first bite.

"Howzitgoin'," she then asked.

"bonan vesperon." She greeted back when greeted. "Or rather good evening. I hope our assembly wasn't super boring. They have us in the council all introduce ourselves and that fun stuff. Personally I'm not very good with speeches."

Alsase wrote:"Why indeed I am, Miss Elly-Mae. Thank you, for welcoming to the Academy in kindness, despite my lateness to the commencement." - Allysia had replied

Following, Elly-Mae's offering to help Allysia locate her dorm room, Alyssia had responded: "You've peeked my appreciation, however, I'll take my leave. I wish not to hinder you any more than I have, with guiding me to my dorm, although a map would be most appreciated."

"All right then. Yuki which dorm?"

"Let's see...Dorm 3."

"Great. Actually, I'll lead you there myself." Elly-Mae offered.

Keller wanted to explain that she was forced here, until a whistle cut her out. It was time to move on. It was eventual, anyways. As she sat at the assembly, listening to the speech being given, she wondered what people were starting to think about her....

"Good evening" Another student Brila greeted her. "Might I sit with you?"

The Selkie wrote:I smiled as Britta joined us before turning back to Fiore and Mary.
"So, two kitties and three older brothers?", I summarized from the other two girls, "Sounds like an awful lot to keep track of... in either case. I have no siblings and only Bhuf." Better not mention, that I would never get any siblings, as my Mam had passed into the Mag Mell. "Though... he is a bit of my Baby, that's true. I got him, when I was ten Springs old and he but a little puppy, barely potty trained. He loved to snuggle with me even back then, so it kind of stuck."
I missed the other student with a dog, Marianne, but I am sure, that we will meet sooner rather then later. Most likely because of our canines.

Fiore cooed a bit when Mona mentioned she lost her mom but she did best to not dwell on it. "Well glad he's your pal and by your side. So guess there might be a few others here with pets of their own."

New Edom wrote:Marianne began to head towards the station.

With most of the students at dinner there were the few who stayed behind to care for their pets who were already in housing. A few other students said evening as Marianne with her own dog as they passed with their own pets, many had dogs a few with cats.

Fatimah Al Gaddafi said loudly "I demand you answer my queries or I will challenge you to a fight Marie!" loud enough for the teachers and other pupils to hear.
