NS name: Codagh
Deity name: Lukren
Gender: Male
Generation: Younger
Abode: Celestial
Domain(s): Light, Hope, Dreams, and Courage
Function(s): Lukren exists to bring light into this world, to pierce the darkness and to overcome the fear. His main role is obvious, providing a light so that people can see. While he has no power over the sun or the moon, his domain lies within what they produce. He also provides hope to those who need it, helping those through the darkest times. This in turn gives those such as soldiers and patients the courage to fight on. Lukren also provides dreams, as the light of the stars falls upon sleeping heads. These dreams often give visions of hope to bolster courage.
Appearance and attributes: Lukren is roughly 6' tall when on the mortal plane, often adorned in a light-blue tunic and robes. While he takes many forms, always whatever a person needs most, he generally appears with long, block hair, slightly pointed ears, and olive skin. His eyes are always a light-blue. Rarely does he take the form of an animal, but when he does, his eyes remain a light-blue. In the dream realm, though he still uses various appearances, his true form can be shown. His true form stands a 7' tall, is slender in frame, and his skin has a faint blue tint. His hair is silver, and his ears are very pointed. As usual, his eyes are light blue.
History and background: While the Sun and the Moon had their deities, the light they provided ran amok, unusable by the eye and dangerous to those it encountered. Lukren formed around his light, his sole purpose to guide the light. The young god took control of the light produced by the sun, the moon, and the stars, and guided them to the eyes, allowing mortals to use the light to see. He pierced through the darkness, allowing the creatures to explore the world. This, in a way, put him in direct odds with the Goddess of Darkness, which Lukren accepted. Due to this, he began attempting to counter her darker domains, bringing a bit of balance. Lukren's light brought about hope to overcome many great adversities, and courage to fight through them. Lukren then took to the dream realm to combat the constant nightmare's that plagued mortals. He fought to bring his light to this realm, finally bringing peaceful and sweet dreams to the resting mortals.
During this time, he found a following in a rather large tribe who worshiped Lukren, especially his influence over dreams. He lived among them for many years, developing a system for them to enter into dreams and manipulate them. It took time and many generations to perfect, but eventually they became experts, able to enter not only one person's dreams, but to travel through dreams to other's. This tribe eventually became known as the Dreamstriders, the most devout followers of Lukren.
It wasn't until much after this he met Anamara face-to-face. He instantly loved her. Lukren tried for centuries to win her affections, while still countering her darker domains with his light. He did everything he could to win her, leaving his people unattended for hundreds of years. Though the processes he left in place continued, they essentially had no guide as he tried to win her love, causing them to grow weaker and weaker. It wasn't until a Dreamstrider entered Lukren's own dream to plead with him that the young, smitten deity realized what had happened. Ashamed, he resigned himself to a life without her and returned to his duties.
Lukren tends to his light faithfully, and has even taught mortals how to harness it through magic, lighting their way without the need of torches. Though Lukren has crafted ways to weaponize his light, he has refused to teach even the Dreamstriders how to perform this feat.
Personality: He is kind and caring, wanting nothing more than to help those around him. Well, there is one thing that he wants more, though he has resigned himself to life without that, though many of his actions are subconsciously done in hopes of gaining this one thing. Lukren cares for his followers, and is willing to go to many lengths to ensure their safety. This caring nature, however, extends to all mortals. Any who ask of him has a very good chance of receiving an answer.
Other: While Lukren claims the Celestial Realm as his home, most of his time is spent among the mortals or in the Dream Realm.
RP samples: Will add after a good night's sleep.
