This is an RP that I hope will allow me to properly reshape Noronica into how I want it. I was unhappy with how my 'main characters' of the nation turned out, and as Noronica matured, I found that several of the older mechanics of the nation were not making sense with the new iterations of Noronica. Ergo, this RP was born to allow me to rebuild without changing nations or deleting things OOCly.BackgroundAs Noronica grew back from its Civil War in the 1980s, many of the officials who helped to reshape Noronica were forced to merely brush the corruption and political rot under the carpet to allow the public to see a vibrant nation ready to once again take its place on the international stage. This rot festered and grew, leading to an uneasy alliance between the bureaucrats and highly influential businessmen.

When Joshua McIntosh came to power, he used the political rot and complacency to his advantage, rewriting the rulebook almost. Under the Government of Joshua McIntosh, the country became increasingly driven towards authoritarianism what with Joshua introducing new powers for the position of Prime Minister and new powers for the authorities to silence opposition. He began to reject any other figure of power besides him, including the ultimate executive figure, the crown. Joshua came into constant clash with Tytus Alexander, and with Tytus showing more unease towards the authority shown by Joshua, the more the two are headed towards a true confrontation.
Tytus led the Noronnican Freedom Movement in the 1980s, and he now sees that he failed in trying to limit the powers of the individual. As Joshua begins to limit the crown's influence in Noronica, Tytus grows ever restless, and so do many of those that are loyal to him. Loyal to his father, Tytus' son Trystan returns from his tours in Arván and Charbagnia and begins to climb the political ladder.
The situation at home is falling apart quickly. As the country now faces external threats from both Dormill and Stiura's increasing interest and demands in Arván, and Altera's separatist groups moving ever quicker towards independence, the factions involved in Noronica know that they race against the clock to solve the growing power struggle and take the helm of the country before it collapses.GeneralIn this RP, I am drawing influence from the Thai Political Crisis in 2014, the English Civil War and Caesar's Revolt against Pompey and the Roman Republic. The most obvious influence is the English Civil War, as the two main factions that appear are the Royalists and those loyal to the Government.

However, the eventual Coup / Civil War will come later in the story. This shall be a political and intrigue RP at its foremost as the factions seek to win power and legitimacy. There will, of course, be a military aspect throughout the RP, I just don't want to rush into military clashing. If there is any violence in the beginning it shall be through small groups or individuals.
In the OOC, I want to flesh out roles for other nations involved. As mentioned above, Dormill and Stiura and Alteran Republics both have roles already in separate issues that will involve whoever takes power in Noronica.
I'd like to keep options open for people, but what I don't want is people strong-manning Noronica into doing their bidding, I am fine with personal interests taking precedence for people's involvement, but making Noronica a puppet is not on the table sadly.Factions (WIP)

- Crown: Tytus Alexander, Prince Trystan and loyal royalists within the country want to try and remove Joshua and his Government from power. By doing so, Tytus would eventually take hold of the reigns once again, through force if necessary.
- Government: Joshua McIntosh, his Government and other public officials want to retain power and will be trying to stamp down on any sign of revolt.
- Federal Assembly Members: This is an interesting one, several influential politicians wish to try and ensure that the Federal Assembly retains power. Whoever wins, the Federal Assembly must still stand as the nation's legislature. If they see a powerful threat, however, they may even resort to more violent means.
- Militias: Several violent groups comprised of civilians, veterans or current serving armed forces members, shall be operating around the country, each wanting one of the main two factions to win, or having their own desires for power. To do this, they'll need weapons and supplies.
This is just the bare bones of the sides I envision will be actors in the RP, I will hopefully update it further as characters are fleshed out.Rules
