Down the Rabbit Hole - A Kancolle RP (OOC)

Postby Fantrum » Mon Oct 15, 2018 9:57 pm

Hast thou not gone against sincerity?
Hast thou not felt ashamed of thy words and deeds?
Hast thou not lacked vigor?
Hast thou exerted all possible efforts?
Hast thou not become slothful?

First I must give thanks to The Selkie and Higher Japan for giving me the template I now use for this RP

Once, long ago, Humanity ruled the seas unchallenged. They pillaged and exploited the worlds vast oceans, never stopping to ask what retribution might come of their reckless abuse. Then one day, the answer came. Monsters, once the stuff of old fishermen tales, rose from the depths to lay waste upon the arrogant and greedy. The world's mightiest navies stood to face these monsters, the Abyssals, and were dealt swift defeat. Sprawling Oceanside cities were set upon with indiscriminate hatred. It seemed, Humanity would be forever cast from the waves, destined to extinction by the oceans themselves. But it was in this, our darkest hour, that our saviors appeared, The Kanmusu. Borne of the spirits of past ships, these heroines and heroes are all that stand between humanity and the darkness without.

Greetings and welcome to Operational Sector Eastern Sea - West
First let me extend my warm salutations, and welcome aboard our humble district. Our base of operations was once a buzzing hub of activity in this area of the world, known locally as the Eastern Sea, but priorities have since shifted away. This base was merely a small resupply depot until a few weeks ago, when Abyssial ships started resurfacing and raiding our convoys and now we're here to find out why. The We apologize if some base facilities arent operational yet, but we're working on it, in the meantime, we do have the docks, dorms, and cafe up and running. Oh and before I forget, the Eastern sea isnt like other areas of operation, while its warm here, the weather is quite volatile, so expect regular storms.

"Hello and welcome a rather special, if I may say so myself, Kantai Collection Roleplay here on NS!
Now, what is Kantai Collection, or KanColle for short? A japanese browser game developed by Kadokawa Games and online since 2013. Centered around the building of squadrons of naval vessels of the WW2-timeframe and sending them onto missions against the aforementioned Abyssals, it is the Admiral's/Player's job to organize and lead this fleet - of moe anthropomorphisms of World War II naval warships. The game features, in usual Japanese fashion, first and foremost the vessels of the IJN, although, as of late, other vessels of the time were added, including a very few allied vessels."

As any players comeing back will be familiar, we will not be using established ships, rather ships from your own nation's Navy. This means nothing IRL, get creative!

OS ES-W started life as a pivotal front against the Abyssal fleet, as such, it was equipped to house and operate a substantial fleet of Kanmusu. During the peak of its operations it was the nexus for a string of bases across this sector and several others. However, as the war ground on and the abyssals largely pushed out of the theater many of the established bases were abandoned, and the district itself reduced in importance to a mere supply depot. As such, most of the base was in ruin when abyssals started jumping lone kanmusu and other convoy ships. Now command has reevaluated its importance and begun a project to bring the base back up to par. This will take time, time we simply dont have, in the meantime, the Kanmusu stationed here will just have to deal with it.

The base climate is quite nice, being a tropical island has its perks, though be careful of the hurricanes. The clashing warm and cold water just to the east makes for perfect storm conditions, and we happen to be right in the middle of the season.

As mentioned before, a lot of the base is a ruin, but theres a dock, cafe, and dorms so the essentials are covered. The fairies are working on clearing the old airfield for the Carriers to use but thats gonna take some time still. If you're bored maybe try conversation? Our primary mission is to be a force in readiness, so be prepared to sortie at a moments notice, secondary objectives are to trace the Abyssal fleet to is origin, but not to endanger yourself in doing so.

General Rules:
1. As a general rule of thumb that most RPs follow, god modding and meta gaming of any sorts will not be tolerated. No, you cannot torp an installation down to 0 health and no your ship cannot survive a full barrage form an enemy fleet if you're out on solo expedition. However, for the second example if you can explain why I might let it fly depending.

2. Don't be a douchebag OOC. We've had this problem before concerning ships, speed and time frame in which they were built. If you have a problem with someone's ship or wish to clarify on their design please TG them or DM them on the discord instead of taking it out on the OOC.

3. Of course inevitably, you sink a shipgirl you sink it forever. Sorry but in the interest of balance and in order to prevent people from doing dumb shit there will be nothing that can bring your ship back. OOC wise it'll be struck as sunk. However, since ingame it is possible to rebuild ships this may be overruled with a new condition.

Character and RP rules:
1. Like the last one, we'll have a maximum of 6 characters. If you wish to take all 6 you must have at least one support vessel and three escorts among them.
However do note that in the interest of balance and in order to prevent an easy victory battleships and carriers are limited to 6 only and after the number has been reached they'll be off limits. There'll be a limit on light carriers and heavy cruisers if needed as well, players are asked to use lighter ships for this RP.

2. We'll be allowing ships built only during 1900-1950, of all sizes up to the previously stated limitations.
However, concerning what is allowed and what isn't generally nothing nuclear, magic based or beyond the time period. If your world already has nuclear ships by then they're sadly not allowed in the RP for balance.

3. All characters will be living in the dormitories, no exceptions unless appealed with valid reason. 2 capitals per room, 4 Cruisers per room light and heavy and 4 destroyers per room will be the system used. The exception is that boys and girls remain separate, regardless of relation to each other. (We'll deal with ship marriage when it comes obviously)

4. While you're having fun thinking of technical descriptions for your ships and what they can or cannot do please do note that:
-They cannot have anything within modern standards, missiles, VLS and railguns etc.
-A technical description of the vessel and it's history should be included, even a few sentences will suffice.
-Please try to make it reasonable. A 20,000 ton destroyer just doesn't make any sense even if you make it high or wide. This'll be important because of the hard limit.
-Try to include details of any addons such as aircraft if they're original and if you're a landing ship try to add sentences on their ground crew.

5. Concerning upgrades and Kai Ni, youll need to earn it.

6. We will not have any official ship vs ship fight between the kanmusu. However if you wish to do it please do consult the other side first.

7. When the real thing starts and combat begins, do note that combat will not follow the standard style of the game. Instead, you'll be allowed to act independently but be warned that doing so irrationally might be catastrophic, even resulting in sinking if it goes too far. As such teamwork and communication will be important in securing victory. Technical descriptions won't really play much of a role and abyssal v kanmusu combat will occur mainly in events and patrols if done.

8. You will not be allowed to have your ships contact their nation of origin

9. If youre put into a squadron, respect the flagship, they'll be the one commanding the fleet.

10. If you've read all the rules please put 'Anker Auf!' in the 'Have you read and understand the rules section'. Do not hesitate to ask me anything on the rules.

Important note: Abyssal ships will become available at a later date.

Personnel file - Operational Sector Eastern Sea - West

Name: FNS Glorious

Type: Battlecruiser

Class: Expedition Class Large Cruiser

Role: Bombardment/Cruiser hunter/Fast carrier escort

Nation of origin: Federal Union of Fantrum

Year commissioned: 1945

Image or description of the ship girl/boy: This but with navy whites instead of army greens
Her rig is painted in the navy Measure 16

Gender: Female

Character: Preferring to go by Glory instead of her full name, she is gracious and views girls of lesser tonnage as her little sisters and wishes to protect them, though she treats battleships with barely concealed distrust as a result of her wartime experience. She has a strong relationship with her sisters Expedition and Honorable, having served with the former and fought a last stand with the latter. She also has a special bond with FNS Nightingale, a carrier she fought to protect from her commissioning to her last moments. During combat she tends to be selfless with regard to her own well being while on occasion being overbearing about her fellow Kanmusu. Her favorite food is hotdogs, and she loves baseball.
Special abilities: To the last Shell! As she takes damage, her weapon reload times decrease. This is in reference to the ferocious last stand she fought side by side with Honorable against a much stronger enemy fleet

Technical Description of the vessel: Technically a Large Cruiser, Glorious was constructed to fill a niche in a time of desperation. Having neither the time nor the materials readily available for the construction of a full battleship, the navy opted for a smaller ship protected from the fire of 10 in shells while sporting 12 in guns herself. In effect, they produced a cruiser killer that couldnt stand against larger battleships. As their enemy employed battleship's sparingly and cruisers much more, this was thought to be a reasonable compromise. However, by the time she entered service, the dire need for ships of her type had passed and several battleships were nearing completion, causing the cancellation of the fifth ship in her class. While she lacks extensive underwater protection against torpedoes and rounds falling short of the actual ship, she is nearly impervious to all cruiser caliber weaponry, and her main battery is capable of punishing any ship her size and under, though she struggles with larger targets. Her anti air suite is also very effective, combining radar guided 5 inch shells with sheets of forty millimeter flak to become a deadly fleet escort. Of the four completed ships, two were lost in battle, Honorable and Glorious, two would later serve in other wars and undergo extensive refits into missile cruisers before eventually being struck from the naval registry. One example, FNS Exploration, is still in service with a foreign navy, while FNS Expedition is on display as a museum ship in Brookstone. Together the Expedition sisters accounted for 35 battle stars and numerous ships sunk

Notes: The Expedition class of large cruisers were ordered in 1940, following a perceived need counter new and better cruisers being produced by the Velstadoain navy. At the time of their ordering, the war of Aggression had been raging for two years already, having been started with the Velstado declaration of War, and the Fantrum Navy was feeling a desperate need for ships. To facilitate this, as well as to meet new threats, the Dynamic Navy Act was passed. The aim of the act was to construct smaller ships, which could be built faster, to fill certain roles. It was deemed that a full sized battleship was not needed to escort carrier groups or to kill enemy cruisers, thus, the Expedition class was born. Glorious was the third ship in a class of five and she was built using lessons learned from her predecessors including the use of a fire computer and radar. By the time of her completion, the Fantrum navy had advanced across much of the Southern Ocean and was poised to begin decisive naval operations against the Velstado homeland. Glorious fought in several battles with her sister Expedition as part of Task Force 33, which included the carrier FNS Nightingale. Glorious was lost with 659 of her crew on August 9th 1947 during the battle of Hope's Bay. During this battle Glorious was credited for sinking three heavy cruisers, a destroyer, downing several aircraft, and crippling a Velstado Battleship in a duel. She met her end while escorting FNS Nightingale and several other wounded ships out of the combat area, where she acted as rearguard with her sister Honorable to rout a much stronger enemy force. The two ships succeeded in deterring the enemy, however, Glorious was a smoking ruin and Honorable's pumps couldnt stay ahead of her flooding. Survivors were picked up by picket destroyers before Glorious's hulk was scuttled with Torpedoes. Glorious' career ended with 11 battle stars, the most of her sisters.

Personnel file - Operational Sector Eastern Sea - West

Name: Hornissennest
Type: Carrier
Class: Bienenstock (roughly equivalent to the Yorktown-Class IRL (Enterprise, specifically), if the Yorktowns had carried jets)
Role: Strike carrier
Nation of origin: Jebslund
Year commissioned: 1947
Image or description of the ship girl/boy:
Hornissennest-hime has long, black hair, which she wears in a French braid. However, Hornissennest and her battlegroup have inhumanly green skin, despite having otherwise human-like features. Hornissennest wears an orange-and-blue Wasserarmee officer's uniform, a garment meant to visually resemble diving suits of the era, without the weights and helmet, and with rubber boots instead of metal, the soles designed to be as slip-resistant as the mid-1940's can muster. A ring around the bottom of the aluminum collar is orange, as are the bottom halves of the sleeves and legs, while the rest is a dark blue except for an orange stripe down the middle of the back which splits to join the legs.

In ship form, she looks much as she did as a ship, with the exception of an orange stripe, barely visible from more than 100 meters, under the windows of her conning tower and a black stripe above and below it, denoting a ship which has received a special commendation, and a Stug-IIIG silhouette painted next to her hull number, denoting a ship that has received the Reihenfolge der Höchsten Verdienste, StuG-IIIG-Klasse (equivalent to the Medal of Honor).

Gender: Female
Character:
Hornissennest can best be described as... Driven. The targets she's assigned to sink/destroy, she eliminates. That which is to be captured will be pursued to the ends of the earth. The patrols she's put on, she makes sure nothing escapes her sight. The Kanmusu she escorts are guarded with her very life. Her own escort is given the best support she can muster.

That's not to say obsession is all she has. Toward those she cares about, she is very sweet and caring, often acting almost motherly to those she sees as family, and is fairly intelligent. Just... Don't cross her. It's not worth it. There's a reason her name means 'Hornet's Nest'.

Special abilities:
Hornissennest-hime pain tolerance is nearly legendary, and her ability to precisely diagnose her injuries/battle damage by feel borders on preternatural.

50 JF-01S(DJEF/TB) Ausf F Maschinenteufel (Single-engine fighter comparable to the de Havilland Sea Vampire made to mount a single torpedo in place of the 500lb bombs. Designated carrier jet escort fighter/torpedo bomber of the Jebslund Wasserarmee in 1947. Newly equipped with radar in 1950 as a result of an exercise.)

In 1946, a new type of fighter was developed and put into production: A near-miraculous wonder of the waning propeller era that could take off and land near-vertically, at speeds so low as to be unheard-of in any fighter aircraft before it, and yet, at top speed, could keep pace with even jet fighters. Due to its odd shape, the fighter was called the 'Flying Waffle', and it was rushed into production in 1947 as soon as the kinks had been worked out of its design, with no nevermind paid to those civillians who had seen it in flight and immediately begun ranting about UFOs and flying saucers (and with no mention of teacups! Hmmph!), despite concerns that the fact that the airframe survived initial testing meant the engines may have been underpowered for Jebslund's military leaders' tastes, due to the amazing flight characteristics.

The fighter was put into service with the navy, where its amazing takeoff run could be put to use aboard even the smallest of carriers without the need of a catapult, with the latest of the Bienenstock-class carriers, the Hornissennest, chosen to be the first to receive the new designated heavy fighter. For over a decade, the Hornissennest and her crew faithfully served the Wasserarmee, proudly defending Jebslund and striking fear in the hearts of her enemies.

Until, that is, she was declared obsolete. She had known the day would come. The last five years of active service, she saw fewer and fewer veterans, and more trainees. She'd become a school ship, her once-feared fighters now relegated to training platforms. It was a decent fate, one her spirit was proud to have.

Until they moved her. They'd loaded her up with her old complement, armed her, fueled her, and, to all appearances, were sending her to battle once more. Except they weren't. They sent her to a beautiful island. Then abandoned her. Not a soul on board save the spirit of a once-mighty carrier, left to watch helplessly as radar contacts showed the incoming bomber. The first of many that would soon drive her to despise her creators as the bombs fell, the ocean swallowed her, and... And they dragged her back up. Repaired her. And sent her off to die again. A test target to evaluate new bombs.

At first, she took her new role in stride, seeing it as doing her part to keep the Kermanic war machine strong. As the tests went on, though, the agony of her repeated deaths and resurrections, all for nothing as each bomb failed in its purpose, wore all but the tiniest glimmer of good will Hornissennest's spirit bore down until nothing remained but unbridled hatred for the monsters who refuse to just. Let. Her. Die... The ones who had used her and thrown her away and refused to allow even that mercy. The ones who had truly abandoned her. Thrown her to the wolves in an endless nightmare. Until the day they found their perfect bomb. Their silver bullet of annihilation that reduced an entire simulated battlegroup to barely-usable scrap. It was the moment that redeemed her creators and reignited the pride she'd once felt. There was no effort made to repair her. A commendation was written into her file, she and her battlegroup credited with the success of the new bomb, and, as her corpse was melted into scrap, she received a sendoff worthy of any Jebslunder soldier.

Name: Adelheid
Type: light cruiser
Class: Jubelnleiterin (Comparableto the Oaktown class (specifically, USS Oakland) IRL)
Role: Anti-aircraft escort
Nation of origin: Jebslund
Year commissioned: 1943
Image or description of the ship girl/boy:
Adelheid has shoulder-length white hair done up in a right side ponytail and wears a Wasserarmee uniform, a garment meant to visually resemble diving suits of the era, without the weights and helmet, and with rubber boots instead of metal, the soles designed to be as slip-resistant as the mid-1940's can muster. She has a somewhat muscular build, with a medium bust and usually has a pair of pom-poms clipped to the belt of her uniform.

In ship form, she looks much as she did as a ship.

Gender: Female
Character:
Perky and almost eternally cheerful, this sadistic cutie loves nothing more than watching enemy aircraft raining from the sky in pieces. Adelheid is determined to ensure nothing with wings even comes close to hurting Hornissennest-hime. And to watch the shower of aircraft parts fall from the sky. She is not all chainsaws and FLAK pops, though. Adelheid has a noble nature hidden under all the hate and spite, and is more than willing to sacrifice herself to save her allies.

Special abilities:
Adelheid has a near-impeccable sense of timing and balance, and a near-limitless emotional energy and stamina.

Technical Description of the vessel:

Technical Data
Displacement:
6,826 tons (standard)
8,470 tons (max)
Length (overall): 165.05m
Width: 16m
Draught:
6.25m (mean)
8.08m (max)
Propulsion: 2 × geared turbines; 2 × screws
Speed: 32.5 kn
Complement: 802
Armament:
8 × 127mm Zollstock naval guns
16 × dual 40 mm Pompon
8 × 40mm Pompon
4 x 88mm Taktstock AA (2x2)
8 × 533mm Imbisswurst torpedo tubes

Armour:
Belt: 28–95mm
Deck: 32mm
Turrets: 32mm
Conning Tower: 64mm

Notes:

The Jubelnleiterin class was a class of anti-aircraft cruisers considered vital to the Jebslunder war effort during the war. Even from the beginning of the war, Jebslunder admirals felt that anti-air firepower was necessary, and so it was that the Jubelnleiterin class was one of the most numerous in the Jebslund Wasserarmee, with several updates between 1940 and 1950. Adelheid sank shielding Hornissennest in a Blue-on-Blue firefight between Hornissennest and a battlecruiser when a miscommunication cased the latter to mistake her battlegroup for enemy ships.

Name: Erika
Type: light cruiser
Class: Jubelnleiterin
Role: Anti-aircraft escort
Nation of origin: Jebslund
Year commissioned: 1943
Image or description of the ship girl/boy:
Erika has shoulder-length white hair done up in a left side ponytail and green skin. She wears a Wasserarmee uniform, a garment meant to visually resemble diving suits of the era, without the weights and helmet, and with rubber boots instead of metal, the soles designed to be as slip-resistant as the mid-1940's can muster. The garment lacks the orange markings of Hornissennest's. Erika has a somewhat muscular build, with a medium bust and usually has a pair of pom-poms clipped to the belt of her uniform.

In ship form, she looks much as she did as a ship.

Gender: Female
Character:
Erika, like her sister, is near-eternally peppy and cheery, with a sense of humor as black as her enemies' paint and, like her sister, a thirst for whatever passes for an aircraft's blood. She sees it as her mission to rid the skies of all Abyssal aircraft, and has been known to 'drift' out of AA cover in order to lure aircraft to her. One of her favorite tactics is to time her shots to hit just before the enemy would be able to drop their ordnance, though such "tactics" often earn her an earful.

Special abilities:
Erika, like her sister, has a near-impeccable sense of timing and balance, and a near-limitless emotional energy and stamina.

Technical Description of the vessel:

Technical Data
Displacement:
6,826 tons (standard)
8,470 tons (max)

Length (overall): 165.05m
Width: 16m
Draught:
6.25m (mean)
8.08m (max)

Propulsion: 2 × OzeanMaus geared turbines; 2 × screws
Speed: 32.5 knots
Complement: 802
Armament:
8 × 127mm Zollstock naval guns
16 × dual 40mm Pompon
8 × 40mm Pompon
4 x 88mm Taktstock AA (2x2)
8 × 533mm Imbisswurst torpedo tubes

Armour:
Belt: 28–95mm
Deck: 32mm
Turrets: 32mm
Conning Tower: 64mm

Notes:

The Jubelnleiterin (cheerleader) class were all given feminine names, and were called the Jubelnleiterin class because of the Pompon (Pom-pom) and Taktstock (Baton) AA guns standard to the class. Erika was laid down at the same time as her sister, and, like her sister, escorted battleships and battlecruisers until she was assigned to the Hornissennest.

Personnel file - Operational Sector Eastern Sea - West

Name: Mary Read Kerman
Type: Destroyer
Class: Pirat-class (comparable to the Battle-class destroyer)
Role: Anti-ship/Anti-sub escort.
Nation of origin: Jebslund
Year commissioned: 1943
Image or description of the ship girl/boy:

Mary Read Kerman has short, white hair in a pixie cut and wears a Wasserarmee uniform, a garment meant to visually resemble diving suits of the era, without the weights and helmet, and with rubber boots instead of metal, the soles designed to be as slip-resistant as the mid-1940's can muster. She is fairly short and has a petite frame, and wears several gold earrings in her left ear.

In ship form, she looks much as she did as a ship.

Gender: Female
Character:
Strong-willed and somewhat tomboyish, Mary Read Kerman lives for battle, and often finds herself bored when there's nothing to shoot. She has a nose for adventure (some would say 'mischief'), though she will follow regulations to a 'T'. In 'life', looseness with regulations was what cost her her life.

Special abilities:
She is a master of disguise.

Technical Description of the vessel:
Technical Data
Displacement:
2,480 tons standard
3,430 tons full load

Length (overall): 116m
Width: 12.34m
Draught:
3.89m standard
4.7m full load

Propulsion: 2 Snack-Behälter 3-drum boilers; 2 OzeanMaus geared steam turbines; 2 shafts, 50,000 shp (37 MW)
Speed: 35.75 knots
Complement: 268
Armament:
2 × twin 114mm naval guns
1 × single 104mm naval gun
4 × twin 40mm Pompon
4-6 × single 40mm Pompon
2 × quad tubes for 533mm Imbisswurst torpedoes
1x Verkaufsautomat anti-sub mortar (comparable to a Squid)

Armour: None.

Notes:

The Pirat (Pirate) class destroyer was developed by the Jebslund Wasserarmee specifically to hunt down submarines once the people in command realized that leaving big ships with no effective way of repelling subs was probably a *bad* idea, and frigates weren't always up to the task of chasing down enemy subs. Commissioning of the Pirat class and inclusion of at least one in every capital ship group reduced Jebslund's naval losses during the 2nd World War by a wide margin. Mary Read Kerman sank when laziness in cleaning the magazine and a careless ignoring of the onboard smoking ban resulted in a magazine explosion that cascaded through other explosive bits of the ship, crippling her to the point of scuttling, a fact she will *never* openly admit.

Image or description of the ship girl/boy:
Kerriott has short, white hair, kept in an angled cut, green skin, and wears a Wasserarmee uniform, a garment meant to visually resemble diving suits of the era, without the weights and helmet, and with rubber boots instead of metal, the soles designed to be as slip-resistant as the mid-1940's can muster. She is short and, though still petite as far as shipgirls go, is stockier than Mary Read Kerman.

In ship form, she looks much as she did as a ship.

Gender: Female
Character:
Very nearly obsessed with Mary Read Kerman, Kerriott leaves her side only reluctantly when the shooting starts, quickly returning to her side as soon as its over. She will not willingly allow Mary Read Kerman to leave her sight.
Special abilities:
She can cook almost heartbreakingly well, or lethally bad, depending on how she feels about the one she's cooking for. Kerriott also has training as a medic and a masseuse.
Technical Description of the vessel:
Technical Data
Displacement: 11,755 tons
Length (overall): 150m
Width: 21m
Draught: 8.38m
Propulsion: 2 × shafts; 2 × OzeanMaus geared steam turbines
Speed: 18 knots
Complement: 1,035
Armament:
2 × 127mm Zollstock naval guns
8 × 40 mm Pompon AA guns
22 × 20 mm Puffmais AA guns

Armour: none
Notes:

Kerriott is your bog-standard destroyer tender, forever sworn to be Mary Read Kerman's spear-carrier, nurse, chef, and maid, and housing for her crew. She doesn't really have any illustrious stories, other than being the one keeping the Mary Read Kerman running smoothly.

Name: Turmfalke
Type: Heavy Cruiser
Class: Turmfalke (comparable to a Admiral Hipper-class cruiser)
Role: Anti-ship Escort
Nation of origin: Jebslund
Year commissioned: 1939
Image or description of the ship girl/boy:
Turmfalke has shoulder-length white hair done up in a bun and green skin. She wears a Wasserarmee uniform, a garment meant to visually resemble diving suits of the era, without the weights and helmet, and with rubber boots instead of metal, the soles designed to be as slip-resistant as the mid-1940's can muster. The garment lacks the orange markings of Hornissennest's uniform.

In ship form, she looks much as she did as a ship.

Gender: Female
Character:
Aggressive to a fault, Turmfalke is a fighter, not a lover, and it shows. It takes very little to anger Turmfalke, and, once angered, she will gladly pound the target of her rage into scrap, a trait which is liable to land her in hot water with her superiors. Even as a normal ship, Turmfalke's crew would often pretend not to have heard orders to disengage a target, a habit which proved fatal to the ship in a late postwar skirmish, allowing the heavy cruiser to be sunk in an ambush after being baited by a damaged enemy frigate into a group of destroyers and submarines. Turmfalke is no less vicious with her new enemies than her old, willing to chase them to the ends of the earth and not letting up until the enemy is scrap metal.

Special abilities:
Turmfalke had got excellent eyesight.

Technical Description of the vessel:
Technical Data
Displacement: 20,100 tons
Length (overall): 210m
Width: 21.8m
Draught: 7.9m
Propulsion: 3 × OzeanMaus geared steam turbines, 3 × three-blade propellers
Speed: 32 knots
Complement: 1382
Armament:
8 × 203mm Fahnenstange-II high-velocity naval guns (received in 1947)
12 × 105mm Lineal naval guns
12 × 40mm Pompon
8 × 20mm Puffmais
6 × 533mm Imbisswurst torpedo tubes

Aircraft:
1x JWC-03SFGB Ausf. B Fliegendeschweine signal plane (Single-engine jet-powered small flying boat used to extend communications range. Flies to the edge of comms range, then signals all allied ships within its range, flying as much of a circle as it can while avoiding enemy ships as it does. Similar flight characteristics to the Me-163 Komet, but with a top speed of only 1000km/h. Unarmed, and, like the Japanese A6M Type Zero, has no armor or self-sealing fuel tanks. *Can* be used for recon, but won't usually be unless the Fernglas recon planes are unavailable.)

2x PR-01SWP Ausf. Z Fernglas (Single-engine recon seaplane comparable to the Swordfish torpedo bomber, sans armament, with a radar box attached to the frame between the wings on either side of the cockpit for redundancy. Typically launched by lowering the plane into the water first.)

Armour:
Belt: 70 to 80mm
Armor deck: 20 to 50mm
Turret faces: 105mm

Notes: None

The Turmfalke-class was originally built toward the beginning of the Second World War as an escort vessel for carriers and battleships after it was discovered that big guns and thick armor did *not*, in fact, an invincible battleship make, and that maaaaaaaybe it would be a good idea to have more, smaller guns in addition to the big, powerful ones. Later in the war, when aircraft carriers really started to take off, it became standard practice to put at least one Tumfalke-class in each group for protection. The class namer, the Turmfalke, received new, higher-velocity main guns when she was refitted and assigned to the Hornissennest.

History and description (A few sentences or so describing it's history and how it performs directly.)

History and description (A few sentences or so describing it's history and how it performs directly.)
A mainstay of the Wasserarmee and Luft Armeekorps, the JF-01 Ausf F Maschinenteufel, or Gremlin, is a highly agile jet fighter used as a turn fighter escort and a torpedo bomber, as well as a decoy. Pilots of the JF-01S(DJEF/TB) Ausf F Maschinenteufel were required to be highly skilled, both by the nature of the aircraft and by the fact that both branches using the fighter demanded pilots that could bring out the best in the craft. The name was given due to elements in the design being meant to help stymie the radar which was changing the way air power was being defended against.

Personnel file - Operational Sector Eastern Sea - West

Name: Higashikawa
Type: Remodeled Light Cruiser
Class: Higashikawa class command vessel
Role: Commander of fleet operations, currently a standard surface combat ship
Nation of origin: Originally a ship of the Royal Federation and Imperial Navy, later transferred over to the Imperial Higher Japanese Navy
Year commissioned: 1940
Image or description of the ship girl/boy: Here, although he does have a headband similar to the ones used by the Yamatos and is usually seen in a military uniform of an admiral in a darker green army color scheme.
Gender: Male
Character: Strict and adherent to nearly every rule within the admiralty's rule book, Higashikawa originally embodied perfect ideals of the navy, strict and obedient with no question. During combat he will act based on the situation and may break orders.
Special abilities:
Following his northern career and transfer, Higashikawa in between has undergone a full remodel. As such, now his cannons, although lesser in numbers, can sustain a better rate of fire and has less reload time in between each individual barrage.
Technical Description of the vessel:
A ship originally built under the alliance between Higher Japan and the Royal Federation, Higashikawa is the embodiment of cooperative work between the federation and empire during peacetime. Built with it's hull based off of the previous Kokai class heavy cruisers, the ship was designed to be able to accommodate a full fleet command staff and all the radio equipment needed for messages to smoothly flow between 3 fleets, and Higashikawa was the product of this need. Of course, this had come at a heavy cost of him being only armed with anti-air weapons.

When war broke out against the Federation, Higashikawa then had been under Higher Japanese ownership and was used to intercept federation messages with her hybrid mix of federation and imperial radio systems. This had helped the navy in ensuring multiple victories, eventually forcing the federation to sue for peace. During his service he also saw action against the outclassed and outdated western kingdom as a command vessel for ground forces. Today, Higashikawa stands as one of the survivors of the war into modern day, and was where the Midway Peace treaty had been signed between the two nations following reconciliation and a change from a traditional military government to a civilian democracy. He now lives on as a museum ship.

This version of Higashikawa serves as a more apparent personification of the navy's might and aggression. His entire structure was overhauled and with it his armament changed. Like the previous Kokai class, since the navy now had carriers with enough equipment to carry out the task of command he was given a refit. Most of his longer bridge and special command modifications were removed, and in their place cannons and fire control systems were deployed. However, due to his design and the forward position of the bridge he was severely limited in gun capacity but thanks to technological advances his guns in exchange for capacity received new auto-loading systems which automatically removed spent shells. This allowed for a faster RoF and made him comparable to ships equal to him. However, his armor still remains the same.
Technical Data
Displacement: 20,000 tons
Length (overall): 200 meters
Width: 17 meters
Draught: 6 meters
Propulsion: 4 shaft, 130,000 SHP max
Speed: 32 knots max
Complement: 650 officers and sailors
Armament:
5 x single barreled 132 mm cannon, auto-eject system installed. 1 Located on the bow, 2 on the stern and 2 midship
2 x quintuple 610 mm torpedo launcher.
30 x 25 mm triple barreled anti-air machine guns
4 x 100 mm double barreled anti air cannons
Armour:
Belt: 80 mm
Deck: 40 mm
Turret: 25 mm
Notes: This is the second ship to be called Higashikawa, the first being an anti-air cruiser. However both do share many similar design aspects. His bridge also covers most of his mid ship section, extending out into a command room for fleet staffs to use. This remodeled variant removes this extended bridge, replacing it instead with torpedo tubes and cannons

Tag, so are our characters gonna have parts of ship sticking out of them all the time like in the anime?

Also, would Submarine Aircraft Carriers count as actual Aircraft Carriers?

It would be more of an Aviation Cruiser, and yes the characters will be wearing rigs.

(Name): HLFFS Van Ruller
(Type): Experimental Sailing Cruiser; Four-Masted Bermuda Rigged Steel Ship
(Class): Van Ruller Class Q-Ship
(Role): Nighttime Minelayer, Nighttime Coastal Patrol, Nighttime Submarine Hunter, Nighttime Merchant Raider, and 'Q-Ship' Role
(Nation of Origin): Kraicia
(Year Commissioned): October 1938
(Image or description of the ship girl/boy):
Image
(Note that her hat - a black hat with a cleft front peak with a bit of a flare and a rolled back and gold trims - is excluded from the picture)

(Gender): Female
(Character): Being a secret project of both the Dutch and Kraicians, Van Ruller retains both Kraician and Dutch features. First, and most importantly, she retains distinctive Dutch height, standing at 6'7ft tall along with long legs; however, her Kraician features offset such height, such as, clear pale skin complexion, Scandinavian-English (Kraician) oval face shape, long flowing brown hair, and humble 'C' size breasts. She is nocturnal, unsurprising given her pale complexion and the cold climate in Kraicia, but mostly unusual considering her distaste for the sun and heat. Her personality is direct, relaxed, calculating, and apathetic, only showing pleasure, happiness, and calmness when in the cold, rain, or snow. This personality stems from the fact that she was not only built in the northern Kraicia islands, but also patrolled both the Arctic Ocean and the North Sea.
(Special Abilities): As her nickname applies (The Flying Dutchman), Van Ruller is a naval portent of doom, especially for abyssal submarines and merchant vessels. Any direct sighting of Van Ruller alone at night will instill fear into the enemy, followed with a boost that increases Van Ruller's speed up to 34 knots, especially in stormy weather. This speed boost, however, decreases the farther Van Ruller sails from the enemy, and will eventually revert her back to her normal sailing speed if there are no enemy combatants. Unfortunately, while Van Ruller can stay out at sea indefinitely due to her sails, the longer Van Ruller stays out at sea, the more she becomes less human and takes on traits from the sea, first losing her hair in exchange for tentacle hair, then gaining pointed ears, vampire-like fangs, and her eyes becoming green and brighter in luminosity over time. The only way she can revert back to her original form is return to land, where her tentacle hair, eyes, ears, and fangs will morph back to normal, and any barnacles or algae stuck to her clothing and rigging coming off.
(Technical Description of the Vessel):
Image

HLFFS Van Ruller was developed and built in the 1930s as apart of the secret Dutch-Kraician naval program called, J.O.N.A ("Jacht Ontwikkelingsprogramma"; lit. "Yacht Development Program"). In response to Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy's rearmament and militarization, coupled with its many coastal oil rigs still under construction and largely vulnerable to future attacks, the Kraicians alongside the Dutch conceived the idea of building a much more cost effective ship that retain a mix of distinctive Dutch traits (shallow draft, low freeboard, and hard-hitting armament) and Kraician features (icebreaker hull, low cost, and versatility). Under the disguise of building civilian yachts and schooners, HLFFS Van Ruller's construction and launch went unnoticed and deliberately uncelebrated, granting Kraicia (alongside its growing naval arsenal to the Germans and Italians) complete secrecy to build their own sail-powered warships - a precursor to the Hazel-Class Submarine ('Sailing Q-Ship Type' Submarine).

As the brainchild and first ship of her class from the top secret Dutch-Kraician naval program, Van Ruller was built with distinctive Dutch design features, such as, a shallow draft and a low freeboard - both of which granted Van Ruller high speed for her size and underwater torpedo tubes. Van Ruller's shallow draft allows her to sail in shallow waters including fjords, rivers, and small ports; however, sailors who served o nboard often complained that Van Ruller is almost constantly wet due to her low freeboard, further reinforcing her infamous nickname, The Flying Dutchman (De Vliegende Hollander / Fljúgandihollenska). Being propelled by sails, Van Ruller has unlimited endurance (excluding food supply), coupled with low costs in maintenance and supplies, but because of her sails, Van Ruller is slower than other ships of similar size.

Her armament, however, while unusual and initially awkward, makes her a deceptive foe. Built and designed as both a merchant raider and a Q-ship, Van Ruller was meant to be commandeered as a ship that would attack ships from long ranges with torpedoes and stay out of the enemy's line of sight as much as possible, especially at night. If anything, Van Ruller was meant to fight in long-ranged hit-and-run maneuvers, while also hunting for submarines with her anti-submarine launchers.

Because she is propelled by sails, Van Ruller can go anywhere without the limits of fuel like coal or oil, making Van Ruller ideal in extremely long and far away submarine hunting missions. Her sails, however, make her a distinctive target especially in broad daylight, which limits her to sailing at night or stay within stormy weather to mask her presence. Interestingly, she is outfitted with 5in belt armor and a sharp bow with a sloping bottom to allow Van Ruller for icebreaker duties - essentially slicing the ice and then riding on top of it to weigh down the ice.

Throughout the Second World War, she was feared by U-Boats and enemy merchant ships alike, even going on to frighten pre-nuclear Soviet vessels in the early years of the Cold War. Unfortunately, she never returned home to Kraicia in 1951, leading everyone to believe that she had sunk somewhere in the Arctic Ocean; however, she would later wash up on the coast of northern Hokkaido in 2006, where she had lost all her masts, sails, and all of her weaponry (either damaged or washed up into the water) except her torpedo tubes. Prior to her disappearance, the Soviets were blamed of sinking Van Ruller following an inconclusive investigation ending in 1961, and it was only upon her rediscovery in 2006 that all accusations to the Soviets/Russians were dropped.

The only things that remained aside from her mostly intact hull and structures was her frost-damaged and water-corroded safe, containing the captain's log and last known records of the ship, hence leaving the Japanese to immediately call Kraicia of the miraculous news. Two years later, Van Ruller was restored and rebuilt in a cooperative Kraician-Japanese restoration program, using modern building materials and tools to fix her up to her original condition, alongside the restoration and re-installation of her original armament. In 2010, she embarked on her final voyage back to Kraicia, where she eventually resided off the coast of Edselriðe as apart of the Kraician 'museum' fleet alongside HLFFS Gibson Grover.

Technical Data
Displacement: 10,700 Tons
Length (overall): 150 meters
Width: 20 meters
Draught: 3.8 meters
Propulsion:
- 8x Staysails
- 3x Large Mainsails
- 1x Spanker Sail
Speed: 25 Knots (Average) or 28 Knots (Sailing with the Wind)
Complement: 210
Armament:
- 4 x 20in Underwater Torpedo Tubes (Two on each side of the bow)
- 22 x Single-Barreled 120mm QF Guns (11 on each side of the gunports)
- 60 x Single-Barreled 20mm AA Guns (30 on each side)
- 1 x Hedgehog Anti-Submarine Mortar (Added in late 1942)
Armour: 5in Belt Armor
Notes: The secret to Van Ruller's survival in the harsh and frigid Atlantic and Arctic oceans was her internal cross bracings and honeycombs, which made Van Ruller a structural strong vessel against ice and strong tidal waves. While only outfitted with 5in belt armor on her hull, her structural strength was designed also to withstand torpedo detonations under or besides her; however, the honeycombs and internal cross bracings made Van Ruller a cramp vessel from the inside. Also, since she was built for speed and unlimited endurance, her hull is streamlined, hence lacking the any name plagues.

Speed: 25 Knots (Average) or 28 Knots (Sailing

Could be interesting to see a sailing ship, though I highly recommend you bring in a second character so as to not be bored. As you might imagine, most ops will take place in the daylight. Accepted.

Personell file - Operational Sector Wide Sea - South West

(Name): HLFFS Blákksdorff (Holtland Folkscripen Fleetscip - Blákksdorff; "Black Village"; Nicknamed, "Blake")
(Type): Light Cruiser (Nichtpansaðubrig; lit. "Unarmored Brigantine")
(Class): Brodengrafschaft-Class Cruiser (Second in his Class)
(Role): Minesweeper, Submarine Hunter, Convoy Duty, Coastal Patrol, Nighttime Patrol, Moderate AA Defense, and Destroyer Flotilla Leader
(Nation of Origin): Kraicia (Holtland)
(Year Commissioned): March 1944
(Image or description of the ship girl/boy):
Image

(Gender): Male
(Character): At a height of 183cm (6ft) and retaining slightly pale complexion, short blonde hair, and blue eyes, Blake can be easily mistaken for a stereotypical German 'Aryan' boy; however, his English facial features otherwise differentiate him from the usual German shipboy/shipgirl. Unlike his fellow Kraician cruiser shipboys/shipgirls, Blake is a quiet and cold yet respectable and sympathetic individual - a stark contrast to his predecessors whom were often talkative/charismatic and/or rude. Blake is someone who doesn't speak that many words, even to the point of making newcomers think that he's a mute; however, whenever he does speak, Blake is poetic or direct - his speech is either cleverly cryptic or simple.
(Special Abilities): Blákksdorff is an advanced light cruiser of his type that wields extraordinary radar-guidance system and analogue computers to assist in precision/accurate salvos. Subsequently, Blákksdorff and his brothers are infamous for their pinpoint accuracy. What the Brodengrafschaft-Class Cruiser lacks in punch, they make up for amazing accuracy and target acquisition.
(Technical Description of the vessel):
Image
Designed and built as a new kind of cruiser for the Kraician Navy, Blákksdorff was introduced into the Kraician Navy along with his fellow brothers as the most technologically advanced cruisers ever built at the time. Instead of wielding bigger guns, Blake and his brothers were instead built with accuracy and fire rate in mind - specifically taking a lesson from US-designed ships. Equipped with radar-guided guns and a pair of analogue computer-assisted rangefinders and directors, Blákksdorff and his brothers essentially became the 'sharpshooters' of the naval world at the time; however, following the introduction of digital computers in the late 20th century, the technological marvels wielded by Blákksdorff and the other Brodengrafschaft-Class cruisers were rendered obsolete. Fortunately, following the advent of the Korean War, Blákksdorff and Brodengrafschaft saw action in coastal bombardments and anti-submarine duties, which made the Kraician Navy reconsider the Brodengrafschaft-Class Cruiser's decommissioning date (originally 1952 to 1954 for all Brodengrafschaft-Class Cruisers). Subsequently, the Brodengrafschaft-Class Cruisers stuck around in the Kraician Navy until they were all sold for scrap in the mid-1990s (all Brodengrafschaft-Class Cruisers at the time had became missile cruisers).

Technical Data
Displacement: 11,792 tons
Length (overall): 200m (656.168ft)
Width: 20m (65.6ft)
Draught: 7.9m (25.91ft)
Propulsion:
- 4 x diesel engines
- 4 x Propellers
Speed: 30 Knots
Complement: 859 Enlisted and 49 Officers
Armament:
- 3 x Quadruple-Barrelled 6.1in Gun Turrets (Main Guns)
- 18 x Twin-Barreled 30mm Automatic Cannon Turrets (Secondary Armament)
- 2 x Triple-Barrled 533mm Torpedoes (Midsection)
Armour: N/A
Notes: In correlation with Blákksdorff's special ability, he wields a sniper rifle not just for a taste of antiquity, but as a practical tool of marksmanship. This rifle only appears when he uses his special ability. Otherwise, Blákksdorff is stuck with his rigging when he is in combat.

I’m the Republic of Kraicia, a theocratic Caucasus-based country. I also roleplay as Kraicia, an equally theocratic, albeit Future Tech, nation. I do not represent the Orthodox Church or any form of Caucasus nationalism.

Personnel file - Operational Sector Ark Circle - North

Name: Jason Bach
Type: Heavy crusier
Class: No. 34 class
Role: Support ship/ Escort/ shore bombardment/ Air defense/ scouting
Nation of origin: Offer Erapia
Year commissioned: 1938 refitted in 1943
Image or description of the ship girl/boy: Average height with stocky build, spiky jet black hair and blue eyes, soft white skin. Jason is not picky when it comes to attire he will usually wear anything but he does prefer black jeans and long sleeves. When in his rig two eight inch turrets rest on the back of his hands while two more rest on either shoulder. Armor plating covers his chest and waist and farther down lie two double torpedo tubes on his left and right legs. On Jason's back lies his super structure, along with a smoke stack. And to complete his look a pair of headphones rest on his head for radar.
Gender: Male
Character: Jason is bright and an optimist he wants to protect everyone to the smallest patrol boat to the biggest carrier. And much like his ships history he will put his life on the line to take care of others when in time of need. Of course despite his cheerfulness Jason loves to sleep and is usually late to most affairs.
Special abilities: Jason's guns featured an ability most commonly known as "super heavy shells" this, of course as the name implies, grants the guns heavier shells for maximum damage and better penetration ability.
Technical Description of the vessel: No.34 class cruiser was an experimental class of ship built in 1938 for the Erapian navy. Designed for the sole purpose of "brawling" the ship was built to withstand the shells of opposing cruisers and battleships having a "reverse battle-cruiser" type of scheme. It would keep thick armor while still housing the standard eight inch heavy cruiser guns. no. 34 excelled at what it did which was to take and dish out hits. The armor itself acted like a double edged sword giving better protection yet sacrificing speed and maneuverability. This specific class of ship also featured something most heavy cruisers didn't and that was torpedoes. Do to merchant shipping loss most of the destroyers were sent to escort tankers and freighters.

This posed a problem to heavy cruisers, as they didn't have anti-sub capabilities. But this was mostly resolved with the introduction of the magnetic torpedo in early 1944 which when fired, and drew close to a sub, would detonate acting like a depth charge. This design also worked on ships as well and would prove to be successful with an effective range of 7 kilometers. the durability of the no. 34 class would be tested in the fall of 1943 when a large task force encountered the fifth fleet. The smaller fleet of just a couple cruisers and a handful of destroyers and destroyer escorts quickly took formation.

The heavy cruisers GEN fortress and titan, no. 34 class cruisers, raced toward the enemy acting as a distraction as to let the smaller ships escape. During the forty five minute battle the heavy cruisers sank three destroyers, one light cruiser and heavily damaging two battleship. Before one finally being sunk after three torpedo hits and a recorded 22 shells with calibers ranging from 8, 12 and 14 inch guns. The other ship, the titan, was heavily damaged after being struck with a number of shells and two torpedoes. She was later scuttled with all but 78 men, who died during the shelling, escaping and later being picked up by enemy ships and taken prisoner.
Technical Data
Displacement: 25,489 long tonnes

RP-sample: Jason looked around in a panicked frenzy. All the books he read couldn't and didn't prepare him for this. His eyes darted to the water and then the oil meters both if the lights above were flashing red. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't slow his pounding heart, his breath, came to fast and he could feel the darkness of fear surrounding him. Through his haze of fear he glanced out of his cockpit and looked at the damage. This only made his state worse as he saw a large hole were metal should have been. He yelped in surprise and faced forward, grabbing the stick, Jason didn't dare move.

"This is it, this is how I die"

He said, tears, leaking from his eyes. His head shot up when he heard a voice spring from the comms. He saw a plane roll over the top of his plane and level out in front of him. He shook his head and wiped his eyes. He gripped the stick and with his new found resolve worked his plane over and headed back to base. His plane shook and shuddered as the precious oil was drained from it fuselage. He fought for control nearly stalling three times he eyed his alt meter like a hawk watching it ever so slowly drop by five feet. What scared him more was the pressure in the stick it was growing lazy. Not only this but the shudders and jumps that the plane made seemed to worsen.

"Plane four how long till RTB"

Jason said panicked he knew the plane was going to last much longer. As a matter of fact he was quite surprised that it even obeyed him this long.

Personnel file - Operational Sector Eastern Sea - West

Name: SRN Diamantina Late Model
Type: Fire Support Battleship
Class: Diamantinium-Neurgorod Class
Role: Fire Support
Nation of origin: Sterkistan
Year commissioned:1943
Image or description of the ship girl/boy:
Image
Being the late model, Diamantina has seen some action in Sterkistan prior to the close of the civil war.
    Additional descriptors
    - Eyepatch on the right eye, signifying slight bridge damage which was repaired to a lesser quality than the rest of the ship.
    - Scar on the right side of stomach, a structural repair to load-bearing pieces has resigned her from close-range duty.

Gender: Female
Character: Diamantina is timid and emotional, often seen as childish by those around her. She detests fighting other humans from her service in the Sterkian Royal Navy and has many scars from her service, some internal. She hides herself away from others, disheartened by the damages sustained to her and afraid she will no longer be the 'Gray Ghost' of the past. Now resigned to a fire support role rather than that of her original escort lead position. Despite her timidness, she deeply cares for those she loves and wishes for nothing more than their safety. Diamantina
Special abilities: Firing computers allow Diamantina to provide a significantly more accurate range estimation than optical rangefinders. She also can raise her 16 inch gun barrels separately.
Technical Description of the vessel:
Technical Data
Displacement:
    46,000 Tonnes Standard
    58,400 Tonnes Full Load
Length (overall): 887 Feet

    20 × 5 in (127 mm)/38 cal Mark 12 guns
    80 × 40 mm/56 cal anti-aircraft guns
    49 × 20 mm/70 cal anti-aircraft cannons
Armour:
    Belt: 12.1 in (307 mm)
    Bulkheads: 11.3 in (287 mm)
    Barbettes: 11.6 to 17.3 in (295 to 439 mm)
    Turrets: 19.5 in (495 mm)
    Decks:
      Main 1.0 in (25.44 mm)
      Second 6.0 in (152 mm)
Notes: Diamantina was present in the Sterkian Civil War following her return from the previous deployment. She took hefty damage in the war and due to the inexperience of Sterkian engineers she was left with fairly botched repairs. Following poor escort performance following the repairs she was resigned to a fire support position and initially planned for decommission before the requirement for ships needed to combat the Abyssals saw her dispatched.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen,
I'm glad to see so many familiar faces here. Onto the apping!
Three vessels will be contained in here:
SDFS Faoileán, a cousin to the Leaba-class, a seaplane tender.
SDFS Carman Fea, Rhiannon's younger sister and a light cruiser like her.
SDFS Búraló Liath, a Grey Wolf class Torpedo Boat.
Additionally, our little seaplane tender will get two kinds of aircraft.

Personnel file - Operational Sector Eastern Sea - West

Name:
    SDFS Faoileán.
Type:
    Seaplane Tender.
Class:
    Modified Leaba-class Destroyer Tender.
Role:
Being a mobile repair shop and sometimes even storage (at least for smaller) seaplanes.
Nation of origin:
    Free Lands of the Selkie.
Year commissioned:
    1933.
Image or description of the ship girl/boy:
Gender:
    Male.
Character:
Faoileán is a technophiliac young man, enarmoured with any piece of technology, that he can get his hands on - that is especially true, if it is a seaplane. Other then that, he is a gentle soul.
Special abilities:
    - Cannonball! Grants aircraft, and especially seaplanes, the ability to land in any damage condition. While the aircraft itself will never fly again, it can be salvaged to reduce the resource drain on production of new aircraft and maintenance on still flying aircraft.
Technical Description of the vessel:
Technical Data
Displacement: 13,000 tons full load
Length (overall): 148 m
Width: 19.2 m
Draught: 7.4 m
Propulsion: Geared Turbines
Speed: 15 knots max
Complement: 350 officers and men
Armament: 4x 20mm AA-guns
Armour: None
Notes: Has two light cranes
Built based on the Leaba-class Hull, SDFS Faoileán was an experimental vessel from the get-go. As the SDF-Navy placed its bet on seaplanes and flying boats to provide air cover for the fleet, they needed seaplane ports and tenders to maintain and operate from - the latter kind of vessel was Faoileán, a term, which means seagull.
Originally planned as the seventh Leaba-class Destroyer Tender, he was reconstructed mid-keellaying and was planned anew. He lost most of the AA-armament, but gained two cranes, which were valuable for his work, as well as a complete rededication of his repairshops.
SDFS Faoileán participated in Operation Spriocearcaitheoir, the ASW-Operations of the SDF-Navy centered around Shella from 1942 to 1948. He was planned to be rebuild as a helicopter carrier in 1953, but those plans were abandoned and Faoileán was scrapped in 1955.

Name:
    SDFS Carman Fea.
Type:
    Light Cruiser.
Class:
    Rhiannon-class, Female Group.
Role:
Escort and merchant raider, as well as flagship for a larger force.
Nation of origin:
    Free Lands of the Selkie.
Year commissioned:
    1928.
Image or description of the ship girl/boy:
Gender:
    Female.
Character:
In many ways, Rhiannon and Carman Fea are polar opposites: Where Rhiannon is laid-back and relaxed, Carman Fea is a strict and strong woman, where Rhiannon gets bored with too much paperwork, Carman Fea pushes through like its no-one's business (it doesn't excite her, though). Seeing her smile is a rarity, usually encountered when she can play her fiddle (she's a very good fiddler, but not much of a dancer). Where both sisters are similar, though, is, that they are both fierce and strong fighters, but while Rhiannon sees fighting as a necessary evil, Carman Fea revels in it.
Special abilities:
    - Putter closer, I want to hit them with my sword! True to her name taken from the Selkie-Goddess of War, SDFS Carman Fea gets buffs the closer the enemy is.
Technical Description of the vessel:
Technical Data
Displacement: 7,200 tons
Length (overall): 170 m
Width: 15 m
Draught: 6.2 m
Propulsion: 3 shafts, 70,000 shp max.
Speed: 34.4 knots max.
Complement: 412 officers and men
Armament:
6x Gabha G-91 135mm Guns in three turrets,
    4x 40mm AA-guns,
    12x 533mm torpedo tubes (4 triple packs),
    120 naval mines.
Armour:
    Belt 30 mm,
    Deck 25 mm,
    Conning tower 50 mm
Notes:
Carman Fea, named in honour of the Goddess of War, was the second of the almost legendary six Rhiannon-class Light Cruisers, the first larger vessels built in the Free Lands for the SDF-Navy.
With their relatively light armour, high speed and heavy armament, these vessels were fearsome opponents, both to merchant shipping and in fleet combat, as the Lutetiians found out on several occassions. Carman Fea served in many roles, although her elder sister's long active service history was not paralleled by her, being decomissioned in 1971 after a fire ravaged the vessel. Used as a living hulk, renamed the Diaganta Inn, until 1993, she was finally allowed to rest.
Her construction incorparated some of the most modern techniques available at the time, from welded hull construction, making her lighter, and a small weapons suite against airplanes, which was updated during her career.
Nevertheless, she was a good sea boat, but suffered from a bit of lee helm. She was very maneuverable as well. SDFS Carman Fea did not carry an aircraft or a corresponding catapult, but, on occassion, a shore party of the SDF-Army of up to 100 men with their boats.

Nation of origin:

Image or description of the ship girl/boy:
Gender:

Character:
Where her eleven little sisters appear to be in their early teens, Lilly is a mid-teen for a reason, as she is the, sometimes, only responsible adult around. That can be quite unnerving for her, who is a born hunter, but that was, what destiny had in store for her.
However 'responsible adult' does not mean 'boring as fuck'.
Special abilities:
Eh, you get a torpedo, and you get a torpedo, EVERYBODY GETS TORPEDOES!!! The reload time of Lilly's torpedoes, can, in dire need, be reduced to half the usual amount, making her fling torpedoes around because she can.
Born Predator - Búraló Liath, known in English as the Grey Wolf, is one of many animals endemic to the Free Lands and a predator to boot. Lilly learned much of these snuggly beasts.

In the first concepts of a naval defense of the Free Lands, the SDF-Navy would lure the enemy close to shore and sink them with torpedoes, mines and by ramming, if necessary. With old police boats as the SDF-Navy's first equipment, that was not too surprising, but the SDF-Navy suspected, they would go down with their flags flying high.
In 1922, with the Naval Armament Programme, the situation changed dramatically, the first weapon becoming torpedoes and new ships being planned and laid down - one of the first ones, which were laid down, were the twelve Oceangoing Torpedo Boats of the Grey Wolf class, the first being launched in 1925.
SDFS Búraló Liath, also known as Lilly for her crews, was that first vessel built by Selkie for the SDF-Navy. Named after an easily recognizeable predator of the Mainland, she was held in high regard, built and used around the Mainland. Her first refit was in 1942, adding a radar amongst other things.
Most of her career was actually quite boring and she was frequently sent abroad on goodwill tours in the closer region. She attended the Coronation Fleet Review for Sultan Nesrin of Kyrenaia in 1939, one of the two SDF-Navy Vessels present.
With the development of anti-ship missiles by Lutetii and the Free Lands in the 50s, SDFS Lodan Lir carrying the first operational system in 1960, the days of torpedo boats were numbered. Lilly was refitted once more in 1953, but decomissioned in 1962.

The Selkie, ever since someone had the idea of putting floats on an aircraft, had a long tradition in building flying boats and seaplanes for a variety of purposes, from postal delivery to medical evacuation to, indeed war. In 1918, the Focaeir became the first reconnaissance flying boat in service of a Water Police, a cumbersome biplane design spanning ten metres with a crew of two men and a range of a little less then 800 kilometres. These were not taken into service of the SDF-Navy in 1920, when it was founded, but under the 1922 Naval Armament Program, there was the call for a wide variety of seaplanes to operate from different platforms. One of them was a Seaplane or Flying Boat Fighter. The SDF hoped to be able to provide air cover and reconnaissance for both vessels and SDF-Army Troops with a versatile and cheap platform, that didn't need airfields, only a stretch of calm water, and approached a company with experience in the building of seaplanes and other such planes, Shane Airworks. In 1925, the Shane Airworks Tromán made its debut, a plane, that met the requirements, but was prone to failure. So, Shane Airworks went back to the Drawing Boards and began work on the Piongain, which made its first flight in 1929.

The Piongain Mark I was a catapult-launched flying boat (it worked just as well when launched conventionally) built almost completely of wood, a single-seat monoplane aircraft with a 450 horsepower engine (Mark II replaced this engine). Liquid cooled and driving a three-blade pusher propeller, the engine was mounted on four struts above the fuselage/hull. The wings could be folded up, capable of being made flight ready in ten minutes (the original goal of five minutes was seen as illusion).
It was an excellent boat, quite good as a fighter, but it neither excelled at dogfighting or zooming and booming. They were in service until the Fabhcun was introduced in 1950, but have a cult-following amongst collectors and aerobatics pilots.

    History and description:
Shane Airworks Snamhan was the second large monoplane flying boat, said wings being parasol wings, constructed by the company, which, before, almost exclusively relied on biplane flying boats, when it approached that size. It was supposed to match many of its four-engined competitors and to be cheaper in both acquisition and upkeep, ideal for the young SDF-Navy, which, after witnessing the test flights of the prototype in 1931, ordered a total of 60 aircraft for five squadrons, which soon began to form the backbone of the SDF-Navy's maritime patrol capabilities.
However, the Snamhan suffered from being underpowered and was plagued with structural problems. Crews however, could rest assured, that their hull floated quite well. On one occassion, the crew 'comissioned' their wingless Snamhan as SDFS Snamhan in gallow's humour while floating on the Great Sea. The SDF-Navy only took 28 of the aircraft.
Also used, on several occassions, to rescue downed pilots, the Snamhan was soon supplemented and soon replaced by other, more modern aircraft and stronger.

    Special abilities:
      - Cannonball! Grants aircraft, and especially seaplanes, the ability to land in any damage condition. While the aircraft itself will never fly again, it can be salvaged to reduce the resource drain on production of new aircraft and maintenance on still flying aircraft.

However 'responsible adult' does not mean 'boring as fuck'.
    Special abilities:

The Free Lands of the Selkie.
      Year commissioned:
        1925.
Image or description of the ship girl/boy:
      Gender:
        Female.

      Armament:
        2x 135mm guns, Gabha G-91 Mark II
        5x 40mm AA-guns,
        8x 533mm torpedo tubes (4x2)
      Armour: None.
      Notes:

        History and description:

Well, as said, on the weekend. Most likely Sunday. Any preferences, other then that it is a Carribbean-like Archipelago?
