Same. I also think trust is more specific to the individual, there was nothing wrong with five year old me operating a firearm, and yet there are grown ass adults I wouldn't trust with one.

I started at age 12. At age 15 I had a negligent discharge while on a range and under command. I was distracted thinking about exams and I fired an aimed round before the order to fire was given.

People fuck up. Children fuck up far more frequently than adults. Their brain doesn't fully link action and consequence. It's why we don't tend to leave children alone without adult supervision.
