Listen, I mean no disrespect. I just think that you should NEVER think in these terms about politics at all. Politics are always about useless
IDEALS and "za ideale ginu budale" (only idiots die for ideas). Real life issues aren't really addressed
So why does this pro-/anti market/property/values/freedom stuff even matter to you?
The reality is that your OWN government is KILLING your people, for unbelievable reasons. Not only the World Cup 2014,
but also Rio Olympics etc. right?
And srsly I can't believe how such sh't can happen! It's really unbelievable to me!

And Bolsonaro will probably make it even ten times worse for everyone!
Since he's all about Western consumerism and corporate stuff.
Only justice matters, economics, freedom or other ideals really don't.
You can never trust your government, especially in Brazil.
What does anything about a politician's ""values"" matter when the person is evil?!
Voting for a candidate doesn't make you someone who supports his political views when you aren't even thinking in these
terms to begin with. When you understand it's all about power.
The current government is corrupt, that's true, but it's not about "ideals" or "convictions", but about another guy cracking down
on people wanting to live honourable lives.

No offence at all! But srsly, your government is f'cked up! Totally! Latin America, wth?
Even to our standards, in the Balkans! :D

Yes, all of Latin America. Only Chile is the most "mild" on our continent in the southern part.

Really? Chile was once under a US-backed undemocratic tyranny where hundreds of thousands of innocents died.
And Pinochet later peacefully resigned which means the Chilean government isn't any better.

On your part is justified. Baltic countries were in control of the Soviet Union, imagine how much corruption it must have had in it.

Sir or Madam OP, I am trying to understand the economic and educational demographics of the Brazilian elections. Could you share some information about how the richer, middle-class and poor mostly vote? Looking at the results of the first round, I see that Bolsonaro overwhelmingly won in the southern part of Brazil, which, if I remember correctly, is doing better compared to the eastern part. Does that mean that wealthier people prefer Bolsonaro? Then again, I also remember reading from a newspaper that really poor people fed up with gang violence support him too. Is it possible to draw any conclusions?

It´s sir.

See, the majority of the poor population is located in the northeastern part of the country and a little in the north as well. That's where Haddad is getting more votes. In other regions, the poverty index is lower and Bolsonaro leads. Summing up:
Lower class: Haddad
Middle class: Haddad / Bolsonaro (Most in bolsonaro)
Upper class: Haddad / Bolsonaro (Majority in Bolsonaro)
In relation to violence, this is not only limited to the poor class.

Also, as an Estonian, I must point out that Balkans and Baltics are not the same thing. Balkans were never a formal part of Soviet Union, while the Baltics were annexed from 1940 to 1991. But you are right about the corruption.

Sorry for the mistake. That's because they have similar names.

It's technically all about geopolitics. In this case, it's Russian/US influence.

The SFRY was part of the non-aligned movement! Tito dealt with the Americans and the Soviets.

I see.

Correcting now. I also saw that Romania is facing cases of corruption as well. It is true? It´s only in a few countries of Balkans or in all of the countries?

Didn't Yugoslavia break away from the Soviet Union in the 1960s? It couldn't have been under Russian influence then and as a communist/socialist country, I don't think they were under US influence either.

I guess so. I heard it on the news, but I'm not Romanian (and Romania was part of the Warsaw pact)

*And btw, Portuguese sounds sooo similar to Romanian to me just saying ;

Much earlier. In the 40s. TIto told Stalin to btfo after several attempts of him unsuccessfully trying to assassinate Tito. Tito then warned him that he'd only need one spy to send out to kill Stalin ;
Anyway like I said, Yugoslavia wasn't part either of the Eastern block, nor was it part of NATO. It was part of the non-aligned movement.

*Well if you really want to know. Tito's government was secretly US-backed since 1949. So technically it wasn't independent at all.

Listen to Nicolae Ceausescu's speeches ^^
I really can't tell the difference between what he's saying and Bolsonaro ahaha
As far as I know btw, Romanian still has, unlike other Romance languages, many preserved original Latin words.

See :D
But the irony is, that apparently Romanian and Portuguese are the most distant Romance languages.
