You’re not getting accepted because I personally find you impossible to work with at times and know that you’ll pick some hill to die on over the course of the RP.

With that being said, I’ll look over the other apps later this afternoon when I have time.

What? I told you I was going to apply for your rps before and you had no problems.

You never asked about this one and would have gotten the same response.

PHOENIX ACADEMY: SECTION B APPLICATION

VITALS

Name: Adam Dixon/ Steven Harrell
Species: Human
Nickname/Alias: Riot/Anarchy
Appearance:
Image

Gender: Male
Age: 23
Build: 5' 11" /6' 0" and 198 lbs / 202 lbs

Primary Ability:
As Dixon
  • Riot- Can release pheromones that make people agitated. The pheromones spread slowly from Dixon's body, affecting anyone who breathes them in. Targets increased testosterone and adrenaline production, making them more prone to lash out, but Dixon cannot change the intensity nor exert his will on those effected.

As Harrell
  • Hysterical Strength- Adrenaline production is in an eternal extremely elevated state, granting up to peak-human strength and slightly beyond with enough willpower

Other Abilities:
  • Dixon- Increased metabolism: can consume and process roughly twice the normal caloric intake of someone with a robust and active lifestyle
  • Harrell- Neurological overload: heightened senses and drastically increased coordination
  • Both- Duality of a Man: Take damage, heal, and are affected by poisons as if they were separate people

Power Drawbacks:
  • Duality of a Man- Dixon suffers from split-personality disorder, and the powers associated with his altered state, Steven Harrell, put such a dramatic strain on his body and mind that the alternate persona is the only way to access them.
  • Each form is only as durable as a normal human, but if one is damaged, and they switch who is manifested, the damage will seemingly instantly heal, but if they switch again, the damage will return, but the wound will hill at a normal rate even while the form isn't manifested.
  • Harrell expending energy will also tire Dixon
  • Dixon must sleep and eat more than a normal person to keep both forms fed
  • Only one form can be conscious at a time, but sometimes looking in mirrors, or specifically talking to the other side can trigger a partial split

Equipment: Two to three 9 mm pistols, scar-l, and a Kel-Tech KSG

DETAILS

Nationality: American
Hometown: Denver, CO
Sexuality: Bi/ Straight

Biggest Flaw: Dixon and Harrell are constantly struggling for supremacy. Every second of every day Dixon has to fight to stay in control. He is insecure, and Harrell preys on that. Dixon has deep psychological scars that make him aggressively respond to perceived threats. He is dour and resentful, but if he loses consciousness, Harrell can take over. A twisted person, Harrell often acts immature and is prone to outbursts of strange behavior.
Main Skills: Dixon's power easily backfires when used in any scenario, so he has been forced to rely to tactics and weapons. Meanwhile Harrell's coordination and strength make him oddly mobile, allowing him to strike quickly and powerfully from unexpected avenues. Harrell has no trouble getting dirty and tearing people apart with his bare hands.

Personality: Hot-headed, crass, impatient, and that is just his usual self. Dixon lives in a constant struggle for supremacy with Harrell. While they share a dominant, outgoing personality, Dixon is calmer and more crafty while Harrell prefers a more determined and direct approach with raw strength. Dixon makes concessions while Harrell never backs down. The former is more guarded and reserved while the latter puts on a guise of playfulness and flirtation.

Biography: Adam Dixon wasn't aware of his powers for most of his childhood, but the way they eventually manifested couldn't have been more sad. Dixon's mother died when he was barely old enough to understand what was going on. The loss sent his father into a bout of depression that lasted far longer than it should. Occasional drinking turned to alcoholism which threatened his job and made it hard to put food on the table. The coping of a mourning man turned violent. Dixon's father became more and more abusive.

Dixon's imagination created Steven as a coping mechanism, a way to have a friend through the pain. But it wasn't enough. The abuse worsened, and Steven took on a new, darker role. The stress and adrenaline triggered the manifestation of abilities brought by the alien bacteria, but it wasn't Dixon that used them. Steven, a manifestation of his subconscious that harbored all his innocent rage and confusion lashed out. Dixon woke from his blackout to find his father with severe wounds. Panicked, Dixon called the paramedics. The police assumed it was a home invasion gone wrong until the father woke up and claimed it was, in fact, Dixon. Social services got involved, and Dixon was removed from the home, Steven a forgotten imaginary friend.

It took several years, but Dixon finally became aware of his split personality. His foster caretakers tried to put him in therapy, but nothing worked. Dixon tried to fit in, but he would wake up to scenes that would give a serial killer nightmares. Foster parents, caretakers, foster siblings, beaten to within inches of their life or worse. Psychologist after psychologist tried to correct this aberration but Harrell fought back. Sensing Dixon was forgetting about him, becoming weak, Harrell made it impossible for him to ever see the light of day again. A domestic terrorist attack is usually the final straw in rehabilitation. Dixon woke up in prison, no one left to come save him, no one to help him: no one except the voice in his head. Harrell had chosen his path in life and not Dixon walks the path...

PHOENIX ACADEMY: SECTION B APPLICATION

VITALS

Name: Vail Parsons
Species: Human
Nickname/Alias: Nighthunter
Appearance:
Image
Image

Gender: Male
Age: 18
Build: 5'11", 132 lbs (No Organism) / 6'4", 253 lbs (With Organism)

Primary Ability: Vail's powers don't come from within, but from the creature that bonded with him. The Organism, as it is known to some, bonded with Vail as the first living person to find it. With that bond came all of the abilities of the Organism. The first is that it allows him to create a thick layer of muscular armor around himself, made from the Organism. The second is greatly enhanced physical capabilities, increasing Vail's strength and even his stamina and range as well as boosting his agility and speed to a smaller extent. This athleticism extends to certain tasks such as climbing and jumping long distances, which the Organism is naturally good at. Additionally, while it doesn't offer a healing factor to Vail, it regenerates itself at a decent rate.

Other Abilities: The Organism has its own mental voice, which exists now in Vail's head. This mental voice, named Emilia by Vail, acts as a second mind on the battlefield and greatly increases the situational awareness of Vail, while also offering advice and monitoring Vail's vitals.

Power Drawbacks: The Organism has unpredictable effects on Vail's personality, making him more erratic and prone to disobeying plans when using it, among other things. This also includes increased aggression that can't be turned off. It's also hard to use ranged weapons properly while using the armor layer, meaning Vail is mostly restricted to melee and should have problems fighting a ranged enemy that can do damage before he can close the gap. This extends to operating machinery and small objects, which require fine control. When not using the Organism's armor, however, he's just as vulnerable as any human. The armor also regenerates too slowly to repair itself in the middle of a battle, to maximum performance levels.

Equipment: Vail's main piece of "equipment" is the Organism, and he typically won't carry anything else into battle except for a radio, because of the difficulty of using these other items in the field.

DETAILS

Nationality: Canadian
Hometown: Toronto, Ontario
Sexuality: Straight? (Emilia messes with his head.)

Biggest Flaw: Vail's big flaw might be the chip on his shoulder. The desire to prove himself a worthy successor, and a valuable member of the infamous Parsons family. That desire will push Vail into doing things that... Aren't always the best decisions, and into risks that won't always pay off. Hunting glory is dangerous, after all.
Main Skills: The Organism makes Vail into a hunter, good at chasing down enemies and handling them in melee, while also having a high amount of mobility and stamina. In other words, it makes him into a walking weapon. When not using the armor and undergoing the personality shift that comes with it, however, Vail is actually quite bright and good at learning and understanding concepts... It's how he coped with previously lacking powers.

Personality: Vail has always known that he would be a villain so his personality is somewhat shaped by that, to an extent. He's never been a moral type, the kind of person that has a problem with lying or cheating or stealing to get ahead. But on the other hand he's not necessarily malicious per say, that's just the way that he is and the way that he was raised. On one hand he's competitive and fiery but on the other hand, he hasn't had powers for long and he's still somewhat naive and overconfident, lacking learned experiences that more battle hardened villains would have. Overall, he does have a sense of loyalty that exists despite some of the more negative traits, but this loyalty has to be earned by people and it has to be a two way street.

Biography: Once upon a time, the Parsons Family were some of the most feared people in Canada. Not just metahumans, but people in general. They weren't out to fight for an ideology, nor were they trying to overthrow the government or anything along those lines. They were a crime family, in the same vein as the mafia. The high number of metahumans in the family and their tendency to marry other metahumans and produce children with powers meant that they had a lot more firepower than a normal mafia family would. And while Montreal was dominated still by the more traditional crime families, they would take up their claims in the west, in Toronto. The largest city in the country became their playground, but in a strange way, people looked up to the Parsons family. Romanticized them, even.

It was probably because they were different from some villains. It wasn't that they had a moral code keeping them from going after civilians, it was just that civilians were rarely important enough to their goals for them to touch. They focused their efforts on other criminals, especially superpowered ones, and fought their competition to have a larger share of the market when it came to illegal goods and activities. In a way, you could say they cleaned up the streets when they removed some of the more overt criminals in the area, instead replacing them with their own business that was considerably more lowkey and run from the shadows. The Parsons moved more contraband than anyone, but they did it while projecting a nice public face and keeping the public out of their business. No, their real money was made in the shadows, where they made deals behind the scenes to make their millions rather than selling drugs on the street corner.

However, they didn't keep themselves lowkey enough to not be targeted by Operation Falling Tower. Vail was a child when it happened, but affected nonetheless. The kid had to watch his house burn as it was targeted by heroes, and a number of family members were killed in the fighting. The battle would spill onto the streets of Toronto and cause much destruction, but in the end, Global Shield just had more firepower and their efforts combined with that of the local teams pushed the Parsons family out of the city. They would travel west to lay low in Saskatchewan, and that was where Vail would spend his teenage years. The area wasn't that populated, but that was the point. It was a place to avoid attention, and it meant that instead of having a normal childhood, Vail lived on a fairly remote ranch and had to take an hour trip to get to school every day. Additionally, he was forced to go under a different name to avoid the family being tracked back to their new location by authorities.

Vail Parsons was out, and "Christian Lucas" was in. High school was an absolutely miserable time for Vail, at least during the three years that he actually attended it. After all, he'd gone from living in a mafia family to laying low and pretending to be the son of some ordinary ranchers. There was no more showing off wealth, or going to the best parties, or inviting others back to the mansion to enjoy the wealth that his family had built up. Instead, he drifted and became something of an outcast, with few friends and nobody knowing the truth. It also seemed that Vail wouldn't be able to continue the fight of the Parsons family. After all, unlike many relatives, he lacked powers. Nothing separated him from the mundane people that his family had always been a step above.

Until that one day when Vail saw something falling from the stars as the sun went down, and used his quad bike to investigate and check out what it was. It appeared to be a Cyenthan ship, which hadn't made the trip to Earth and had crashed from its damage. When Vail investigated the wreck, which had burned out by the time he arrived, he would find that there were some bodies among it. It looked like they belonged to fighters from the Kingdom of Cyentha, which was known for its frequent civil conflicts between different clans at the regional level. One of those bodies belonged to a woman who was covered in a strange purple material, one that didn't seem entirely dead or inanimate itself. Always the curious one, Vail investigated.

That was when the thing jumped out on him, springing to life. The next thing he knew, he was blacking out. When he awoke? The thing had bonded with him. There was a new voice in his head. And he now had a tremendous amount of power. it took a bit of time to learn exactly how to control the... Alien organism. How to retract the alien armor, and how to activate it once again. It was enough to cause Vail's parents to pull him out of school before he could finish. But it wasn't like anyone would miss "Christian Lucas". Before he could even turn 19, they offered him another alternative. The chance to attend college at a place that was just for people like him. Villains, with powers. It would be a place where he could learn to continue the family legacy. Something he'd always wanted to do, but something that had also been an impossibility. It was safe to say that Vail accepted the offer, and it wasn't long before he would be whisked away to the west Pacific to join Phoenix Academy, which itself was run by people who were very familiar with his family.

PHOENIX ACADEMY: SECTION B APPLICATION

VITALS

Name: Katherine Day
Species: Human
Nickname/Alias: Iron Maiden (formerly Tower of Terror and Fortress)
Appearance:
Image

Gender: Female
Age: 20
Build: She tends to slouch or stand on her toes, refusing to be measured or weighed. Either way, she is taller than most women and men, but not taller than tall men, and relatively fit looking.

Primary Ability:
Metal Generation - Katherine's power allows her to create metal objects like blades, beams, sheets, tubes, spears, and needles, which extend from solid surfaces around her. She can summon a large amount of material into existence without regard for the conservation of mass, even if the surface she is creating the metal from is not metallic. The larger and farther away the object she is creating is, the longer it takes to come out, with closer and smaller objects far easier and quicker to create.

Other Abilities: She is capable of moving the metal she creates around, though only the smaller objects, no more total than twice the size of her body. She cannot move them too quickly, slightly slower than running speed, and they can only travel within 15 metres of her.

She can also control any metal that is close to touching her and a small area of the surrounding metals.

Power Drawbacks:
- She can only generate metal in her line of sight.
- If she tries to speed up the creation of larger objects too much, she becomes extremely tired to the point of instant sleep. She can postpone this, but it is dangerous to do so as the exhaustion will continue to build up until she decides to release it or it grows too much and releases in one large burst. In the past this has led to multiple broken bones, a ruptured spleen, severe concussions, and even a heart attack. Each time she has survived, but she is in relatively poor health as a result.
- She can only generate metal from metal objects, be it from a thin coating of metallic sheen or a giant hunk of pure iron.
- She can create intricate designs of interconnected metal spikes and rods, but cannot create things like guns or cannons, as they are too complex.
- Her metallic constructs begin to melt away after anywhere between an hour and a month if she does not focus energy on maintaining them, with larger objects lasting longer.
- Any object she detaches to move around only lasts from 3 to 5 minutes before gradually melting away, unless she is directly touching it.
- Her control of metals not generated by her is relatively slow, allowing her to do thinks like pass through metal bars, but not capable of stopping bullets from hitting her. However, she can do things like removing bullets from wounds.
- She has to remain in one place while she is creating metallic objects, though she can move a small amount if she is just making them expand.
- Because of the relatively slow rate of metal creation she is rubbish at offensive or guerrilla attacks, but with time to prepare and grow her constructs she can be part of a formidable defence.

Equipment: She always keeps a few needles on her that she uses to create an intricate metallic tapestry of armour. While durable, it does not prevent her from being harmed, only from most bladed and bullet attacks. She will still feel any external forces on the outside of the armour, as she cannot make it solid or rigid to allow her to do necessary things like breath and see, not to mention move. She also keeps a sack of metal bits and bobs to have an instant supply of metal if one is not readily available.

DETAILS

Nationality: Australian
Hometown: Melbourne
Sexuality: Straight

Biggest Flaw: She is incredibly delicate and weak, and due to injuries sustained from overusing her powers, her health is not very good at all, though she does grow stronger the longer she goes without overexerting herself. Something as simple as a small cut can cause her immense pain, and even falling down the wrong way can fracture a bone. She is still quite dependent on her medications as well, and if she does not take them regularly she begins to degrade.
Main Skills: She is a veritable polymath, knowing at least a bit of everything. She has learned many languages, read most of the classic works of literature from around the world, studied history, and can play the piano, violin, cello, oboe, or harp. Her painting is quite pretty and her sculpting is excellent. She would have made a great artist, writer, musician, diplomat, or even professor had she not decided crime was the way to go.

Personality: Her personality changes on a whim, sometimes easygoing and nice, other times cold and distant. It depends on the mood she is in, and if she likes the people she is interacting with. Sometimes as much as seeing a certain colour or feeling a gust of wind can change her mood.

Biography: Katherine Day was born in Melbourne, and even from a young age she was found to have incredible talents in the arts. As she progressed in school, she far exceeded the talents of her fellow students. She managed to progress to the point that she graduated from school at the age of 14. Unsure what to do with her life she tried to go to university, only to be bored by the classes and social atmosphere that was not welcoming to a veritable child. It was during her fifteenth year, when she was listlessly wandering the streets of Melbourne during the day, that her powers struck her for the first time. It was sudden, intense, and the greatest show of power she has ever been able to do. In a matter of seconds a giant spire began to grow out of the sewer plate she was walking over. In less than a minute she was surrounded by a castle that crushed nearly the entire street. Thankfully only a few people were injured and no one was killed, but it did garner the attention of the Melbourne branch of Global Shield: The Victoria Victors.

For several years she trained to become a hero under their tutelage, learning the limits of her powers and what she could do. It sparked the desire in her to use her mind and powers for the greater good, to not waste it wandering about and not doing anything. She accompanied the members on mission in supporting roles and became an official part of the team roster. Then, on her eighteenth birthday, she was given the greatest honour of her life. She became a member of the Australian national branch of Global Shield. Known as the Koalas locally, she was accepted into this group, praised for her excellent record and useful powers. She was tasked with redesigning and maintaining the Australian penitentiary for powered villains, alongside Warden and Null, a super-sensory telepathic force field generator and long range power nullifier respectively. The three of them worked to create the perfect prison, with defences and cell positions able to constantly change thanks to Katherine (now known as Tower), no powers able to be used to escape thanks to Null, and nothing able to happen without Warden knowing about it. They were the dream team for several months, working to keep the relatively tame inmates in their prison secure. However, one terrible day, Null fell asleep on the job. Normally this would not have been a problem, except that in the few minutes he slumbered, Katherine walked by the cell of Blot, who could remove the inhibitions, morals, and personality of a person, and who herself was completely insane. One quick touch was all it took to erase everything that made Katherine herself. To this day, even she isn't sure why she did it, but she closed the prison and began to do something many Australians still refer to as the "Bloody Tower Massacre". Less than a day later a team of heroes went to check on the prison, as no one had been able to contact anyone from the prison for several hours. What they found was a massive field of thin spikes protruding around large coils of metal, surrounding a massive and spiked tower with several slowly moving parts, cutting a terrible shape across the sky. Dotting the spikes around her were the bodies of everyone that had previously been in the prison. Confined as they were, already surrounded by the result of her powers and essentially at her now non-existent mercy, it had been a brutal massacre. At the top of the tower hung the bodies of Null and Warden, both of whom were still dripping blood. The heroes who arrived at the scene were horrified, but did what they could to rescue some of the bodies. As it turned out, Warden was still alive, barely, though her injuries were so severe only super powered healing could save her. For three days she recovered and healed before she was well enough to recount what happened.

It been so sudden that Warden had hardly noticed what was happening until it was too late. Throughout the metal walls of the prison, spikes began to emerge, growing and branching out, filling rooms and hallways. The walls and ceilings unfolded like flower petals, revealing the sky, though it was blocked by a wide field of growing blades that filled the sky. Warden has started running for the control room to coordinate with Null, already knowing something must have gone wrong with Katherine for this to be happening. She arrived to the control room, only to see that Null had been impaled through his chest. Warden did her best to escape, though with the prison folded out as it was, with only one giant floor and maze of spikes, it was impossible to see where an exit from the labyrinth of torture might be. In the distance she saw a tower begin to rise, slowly, just brushing the tops of the highest needled blades. She ran towards it, using force fields and her enhanced senses to avoid dying multiple times. The screams of tortured and dying prisoners began to fade as most of them failed to escape this new kind of prison. Eventually Warden made it to where the large tower was rising, and began to climb where spiked, cylinders, and other random shapes protruded from the sides. By the time she made it to the top, the tower rose well above the rest of the former prison, and the field of swords and needles stretched almost to the horizon. Looking towards the centre of the top of the tower, she saw Katherine, now wearing a flowing dress of metal fragments and a crown of metal thorns. Upon asking Katherine why she did this terrible thing, Katherine simply said "What's wrong with it?" The next thing Warden knew, she was in a hospital, recounting her story.

For ten days Katherine's tower stood, churning and resisting destruction, made of pure metal. When, on the tenth day, Bombastic and Cannonball managed to break through into the tower, they realised that Katherine had burrowed away from the site. Attempts to find her remained futile, and in two days the entire tower and the remnants of the prison were gone, leaving nothing but a field of corpses. Katherine herself greatly suffered after this incident. Having burrowed away from the scene of her crime and using her power to move to the nearest town, when she finally let go of the pent up exhaustion within her, she nearly died. Her heart failed, next to every bone in her body broke, and several other major organs nearly failed. Thankfully this town was home to the largest and only hospital in their part of the outback, and was so relatively isolated that they still didn't know the specific details of the incident she had been a part of. For eight months she laid prone, barely hanging on to life, too fragile to be transported and unsure of whether she would live. When a group of investigators came through, sweeping the area to try to find her, she was wrapped in so many bandages and casts that she was unrecognisable. Once she was no longer critical and nearly completely healed, some year and a half after she arrived, she left in the night, taking all of the necessary medicine the hospital had.

Unaware of the wrongness of her actions, she returned to Melbourne, only to be confronted by her former team as soon as she was recognised. They moved to arrest her, but just as quickly a pair of Phoenix Academy recruiters appeared out of nowhere. Somehow they knew of her story and what had happened, and had been tracking her as she made her way back south. They forced the Victors to retreat and whisked her away to the Academy, where she has spent the past few weeks, learning that villainy is the best path. She still had no set personality, her moods as shifting as the breeze; her inhibitions are coming back slowly; her morals are trickling back, but the Academy is working on shaping them as they return to reflect a more villainous mindset, grooming her to be the perfect, merciless villain. While she has had extensive training as a hero, it is much different work than being a villain, more about engaging and detaining than evading and maiming; not to mention the fact she is still far from being well and will have to build her strength back up. It will be an uphill battle, not that she cares much. It's a bit hard to care about anything except herself, and not even herself that much.

PHOENIX ACADEMY: SECTION B APPLICATION

VITALS

Name: Mitsuri Hayabusa
Species: Human
Nickname/Alias: Shogun
Appearance:

Image

Gender: Female
Age: 21
Build: 5'5", 113 lbs

Primary Ability: Black Magic: Mitsuri is well versed in magic, but not the kind that you'll see used by heroes in most cases. Her magic is far more chaotic, destructive, and malevolent. Even from its appearance, you can tell that her power comes from the dark realms rather than the lighter planes that many heroic mages draw on energy from. You could say that Mitsuri's connection with these planes proves that she has a dark heart, especially since she can handle this connection quite well without the risk of insanity that others would have because of it. The ability doesn't manifest itself in one ways, but rather, in a number of them.

  • Dark Projectile: Mitsuri can form a solid spike or another projectile out of dark plane energy, and fire it rapidly towards an enemy to pierce skin or even metal armor. The velocity of the projectile is directly tied to the amount of time taken to charge the attack up, with the highest velocity being able to punch through inches of armor. It also takes a longer amount of time to create more projectiles, or create ones that are larger than a large nail.
  • Firebomb: Also, Mitsuri has an ability based around combustion. She can create a grenade out of dark plane energy, one that she can throw at an enemy and that will detonate and spread dark fire. If these flames catch onto someone, they'll do additional damage and will burn brighter than normal flames, although they don't burn near as long and will burn out after about 10 or so seconds. This can be used as an area of effect attack, or as an anti material one against things such as doors and walls.
  • Area Control: When on the defensive, Mitsuri can put up a ten foot tall wall of darkness that, while passable, will do damage to and badly burn anyone that passes through it. The amount of time that this wall stays up, as well as the length, depends on how much energy goes into the construction of it. More energy equals a longer wall that can stay up for longer.
  • Wings of a Demon: Mitsuri has learned how to give herself a pair of wings made of dark plane energy. While using these, she will have much less available energy to use and will be limited in what other moves she can use until she desummons them, meaning she can't use these effectively for a run and gun strategy.
  • Traps: Mitsuri can imbue an object with part of her energy and then manipulate that energy from a distance as a trap, allowing her to create makeshift landmines or grenade based traps and detonate them when an enemy comes close enough.
  • Dark Healing: She can also channel energy from the dark plane and instead of using it for attacks or other actions, she can heal herself with it. This leaves her vulnerable, so it's not something to be done mid fight. It's also usually impossible to draw enough energy at one time to completely heal herself, meaning it's something to be used to get out of a pinch rather than a means of getting completely better. She can also heal others, but unless they have a connection with the plane too, there's a strong risk that it will cause a mental break in them.
  • Plane Tear: This action requires a large amount of energy, but if completed successfully, Mitsuri can open a small tear in this plane which will release energy from the dark plane in a large discharge, damaging everything in the immediate area that isn't immune to the energy, such as herself. This includes both friendly and enemy aligned units. Additionally, there is a chance that a demon or demons emerge through the gate, and if so, these demons are not friendly, even to Mitsuri. This is a massive risk, because it can be just as much of a threat to her own side as it is to her enemies.

Other Abilities: Allure: Despite not knowing who her parents are, Mitsuri has an inherited trick that allows her to... Put herself on the right foot with people. This is a very subtle ability, and some would fail to notice that it's an ability at all, but generally, this ability means that people will feel a compulsion to give her the benefit of the doubt. They might not listen to it, especially if they don't trust her for whatever reason, but it works more often than not and people will lean towards obeying her or being kind to her rather than going against her. This ability means that she's treated similarly to a charismatic person, even if she doesn't particularly act like one.

Power Drawbacks: All of Mitsuri's abilities are based on energy from the dark plane. To put it simply, how much she can do depends on how much is in the chamber. If she's in a prolonged fight, for example, she doesn't have the chance to channel more energy and recharge her "meter". If there's a break in the fighting, she can charge it back up. But generally, this means that it's impossible for her to use all of her abilities at the same time, in one fight. No, she has to pick and choose which ones work the best for each situation. If she chooses wrong, and she doesn't have a chance to recharge, she can be left without the ability to do anything. Additionally, her pure destructive output isn't that high compared to some others, even if she has a lot of different tools to choose from. Her main offensive ability, which is based on projectiles, takes a number of attacks to kill somebody. It's not as simple as hitting them with one or two strikes and dropping them.

Equipment: Mitsuri carries a Cyenthan made Mk4 pistol, which fires the Cyenthan equivalent of a .57 caliber. While it's more expensive to use this weapon over something like a .45 of 9mm caliber pistol, it's more effective at stopping enemies in their tracks and piercing armor. She also keeps a Bowie knife with her at most times, usually in a sheath at her side. In situations that require something heavier, she usually chooses between a TEC-9 and a FN FAL, depending on whether a rifle or an SMG is needed.

DETAILS

Nationality: American
Hometown: Oakland, California
Sexuality: Lesbian (Bisexual for political purposes)

Biggest Flaw: Her ambition can be considered both her greatest trait and her biggest flaw, because it means that she'll go way too far in pursuit of her goals and dreams, even if it destroys her in the end and causes her to go for something that she has no chance of getting. One of these days, her desire to be the best and be on top is going to kill her. She just wishes that she can make progress before that happens, and be in a good position when it eventually does.
Main Skills: While Mitsuri isn't traditionally smart, she's very street smart and generally understands people, making her competent in commanding other and creating strategies. Additionally, her connection with her magical plane is very strong, and in addition to magic, she's trained herself to an expert level in the art of gunplay and is very good with small weapons such as pistols and SMGs.

Personality: Mitsuri is honest about what she wants and doesn't put up a front of being a good person. She's out for the usual things. Money. Power. Prestige. Power, more than anything. If you manage to hang out with her, you'll find out that she's high energy and aggressive, which can be a good or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. She's always working, always hustling, but also knows how to party hard and enjoy the rewards of the work that she put in. She's not particularly friendly to most people but if someone earns her respect and becomes an ally of hers she'll reward them proportionately.

Biography: "This isn't my first run as a villain... You see, I used to run this team called the Marauders, ever since I dropped out of high school at sixteen. Never knew my parents, was raised in the foster care system in Oakland. Never really gave a shit about school, if we're being honest. I wasn't one of the ones that was adopted into a good family, or any family at all. I wasn't concerned with school as much as I was concerned with working over the others at the orphanage and coming out on top, so that's where my focus went and I ended up living a better life there than I would with a family. More freedom, and more people paying me tribute. Who would've known? People respect magic, it turns out. Especially black magic.

"So back to the Marauders. Let me explain how it was after I dropped out to found this group. I was their queen, Blake and Breeze were the killers. Draper, Guri, and Elodie, they also handled all manor of criminal activities. They're also all dead. Everyone else is scattered, too cowardly to fight for the loyalty we'd forged over the few years we'd been together, or they're imprisoned. Of course, that fate is only for the non powered members of our little organization. The powered ones. They weren't too keen on giving them second chances. I've only got Blake and Breeze now, even though at our height we were... A dozen strong, including the people I just named. I'm getting revenge on the fuckers that killed them, someday. But I'm getting off track.

"Fact of the matter is we became one of the top young units anywhere, when it comes to villains. I met Guri first and we ended up clashing with some of the local heroes in Oakland. Not fighting for any real prize or anything like that, but because we found it fun. I was sixteen at the time, like I said. And I was just angry at the world because I had always been an outcast, something that was partially because of my black magic. They always discriminate against people like us and I was sick of it. If they were going to treat me like I was a murderer because of my magic, I was going to show them what an actual murderer was like. So I met up with this other outcast, Guri. He hated California just as much as I did, and we were both pretty powerful in the magic department. So we jumped some of the other younger heroes in town just for fun and because we wanted to fight back against the system. Got em good, too, during one of their late night patrols.

"Fuckers didn't know what hit them. Things escalated, though, and I ended up sending a dark energy spike through the heart of one of those heroes. That meant the big dogs were going to get involved, so me and Guri realized we were going to have to run. That was when I left the orphanage without saying goodbye. It's not like anyone there was good to me, anyway. Wasn't that hard to hotwire a car, something that I had known how to do for a few years. We headed far north and ended up in Portland, which was where we hid with some other homeless metahumans when there was a bit of a search for us. Made the news, I think. But that was where we met Draper and Elodie. We ended up committing some more crimes together, but this time, it was things like robberies. You know, just things to help us stay alive. We had some run ins with cops, too, and we bested them every time. But we drew heat to ourselves, and so we had to leave again.

"That was also when we became villains officially and we took on our identities as such. I became Shogun, and I dropped the last name that had been given to me by the orphanage and I replaced it with something more Japanese and something more intimidating if you know the meaning of it: Hayabusa. We kept heading to the north and ended up in Seattle which is where we met the two members that are still alive today: Blake and Breeze Beverley. Two twins who have better fire magic than I had ever seen at that point, even if they were more raw than versatile. They weren't orphans like me, but rather, they were from an upper class family and they wanted to rebel against the world. They'd faced the same kind of discrimination against metahumans who are viewed as dangerous that I had and that the rest of us had, and it wasn't hard to talk them into joining us.

"The twins gave us some firepower, no pun intended. Enough to fight back against some of the low level hero teams that clashed with us, and for awhile, that was what we did. We headed back south and went towards Vegas, stopping in different places along the way and taking whatever we wanted, fighting the local heroes and moving on before the big guns could come in to back them up. We were careful not to take fight outside of our skill level, and we would get to Vegas about a year after we had initially started. From there, we decided we were going to keep evading the law and heading east, because why the fuck not. It was a fun life. Heading from town to town, raiding them for all that they were worth, and then moving to the next one.

"Our little 'teen murder gang' made national news, but the big heroes had other things to worry about. We also became affiliated with some larger villains, most notably the group that had similar goals to us. They're called Rage, and we became their official 'junior team'. They told us that if we could make it until we were 21, they would adopt us into the main team. Of course, all of us were stoked about that. Rage was world famous. They operated far outside of the United States, and they scrambled the biggest teams in the world to deal with them. But you see, when I was 20, and we were in Indianapolis at the time, something bad happened. We finally drew the attention of a team that was stronger than we could handle: Team Next Midwest. They came after us, they were waiting for us, even.

"The fight was hardly even a fight, we were in out of our depth. Guri, Draper, and Elodie were killed. Me and the Beverley twins were able to get the fuck out of there and we laid low with the help of our Rage contacts. We traveled the midwest for a bit, this time with less than we had ever had. We couldn't raid each town we went to, and we were living on less money than we'd ever had. It was like when I first ran away. However, Rage, which is connected to the Union of Villains, offered me and the twins something: a place at an academy that would train us and allow us to join a real team, or maybe even lead one. Of course I accepted. We were being constantly hunted, and this was a way out. So I shifted my goals from running this traveling team of misfits and outcasts to dominating this academy, and making sure that out of everyone enrolled there, me and my allies are the ones that finish on top. Second place just isn't an option."

PHOENIX ACADEMY: SECTION B APPLICATION

VITALS

Name: Alvagoth Akafiloga
Species: "Half a demon on my mother's side, half a human on my pa's, Satan rest his soul."
Nickname/Alias: Sanguine Morningstar
Appearance:
Image

Gender: Lad
Age: 18
Build: Lean and muscled without being bulky, covered in scars and tattoos.

Primary Ability:
Blood Magic: The blood of a demon holds great and dark magical power, power which can be released if one is willing to embrace it. A demon's power is the power of evil, darkness, and destruction, and by spilling this blood, demonic powers can be manifested.
The Sin of Sloth - Hell Freezes Over: By spilling his blood, Alvagoth can cause it to freeze and summon from the frozen layers of hell, which he can manipulate and attack with in the manner of most cryokinetics. Demonic ice is borne of the darkest fears that mortal minds have about cold, the arctic, freezing, etc. The ice cannot be melted by most mortal means, and it is cold enough to cause a great deal of pain upon contact. However, it only bears the negative aspects of ice, and cannot utilize any of the positives, such as cooling someone off when it's hot out. Extremely weak to holy fire type abilities.

The Sin of Greed - Crimson Blades: Through a summoning ritual invoked through the blood of a demon, Alvagoth can manifest his weapons of choice- two paired, curved blades with wickedly sharp edges. They are demonic-type weapons borne from the depths of hell, and bound to his soul through his demonic heritage. Possess a potent demonic attribute that can be sensed by those who are attuned to such things. No real powers aside from being swords.

The Sin of Envy - Supernal Step: A blood magic rite allowing the user of it to teleport in a single step. Upon spilling the blood required to invoke the magic, Alvagoth will vanish in a burst of smoke, reappearing at a point within his field of vision.

Other Abilities:
Demon Physiology: As a half-demon, Alvagoth's strength, speed, and durability are increased beyond the human norm.
He also has heightened proficiency with spells that use ice and darkness, as exhibited in his Hell Freezes Over power. He can revitalize himself by consuming blood or flesh, to stave off exhaustion or help recover from various wounds.

Power Drawbacks:
As a half-demon, Alvagoth suffers from over-aggression and animalistic urges to attack whenever threatened. He also suffers from some hedonistic tendencies as a result of his heritage. In addition, all of his powers are activated at the cost of harm to himself or others, as per the rules of blood magic. Hell Ice lacks any ability to create cooling or structures, only able to cause harm in the broadest sense. Supernal Step requires a line of vision with his destination, and the blood cost and slight activation time make it impractical to use in succession.
Equipment: Paired Demonic swords, called Agony and Anguish.

DETAILS

Nationality: Californian
Hometown: Los Angeles, California
Sexuality: Not Gay

Biggest Flaw: Overwhelming broodiness and edgelord-osity make it impossible to make friends. Purple skin, horns, and a tail make it impossible to appear human, even if he'd wish to. Impulsive and instinctive, unlikely to plan anything out.
Main Skills: A whirling dervish of destruction in close combat, augmented by teleportation and cold. His half-demon physiology makes him tough and strong, a very capable frontline melee combatant whose power only increases in potential as he suffers injuries. A self-proclaimed prince of hell, his ability to deal with fellow demons shouldn't be underestimated either. He's stealthy as he is powerful, as the shadows are always a demon's friend.

Personality: Brooding, yet hedonistic. The very image of a dark demonic being, forever at war with himself, yet also adverse to all things of the material world. Alvagoth remains a loner at heart, as demons are solitary creatures by nature (with the exception of their own kind, of course.) The kind of soul that seems wreathed in shadows and brimstone, always glaring with a dark intent or a fiery rage. Indulgent and instinctive in his life, Alvagoth lives in the moment, never looking back or ahead.

An overall charmer of a person, with a brilliant fanged smile and a mysterious kind of appeal that could attract all sorts- in a normal environment that doesn't judge horned purple people, that is. Amongst a gathering of edgelords with more brooding, or charmers with more charm, Alvagoth often ends up fading into the background- as much as he can, being as colorful as he is. His charm conceals a sharpened mind, the kind that's always taking the past and future into account when planning.

"These personality bits are pretty easy to fake, aren't they?"

Biography: "Let's talk backstory, then. I was born right into the fiery depths of hell, so that's about all I've known in my thousands of years of existence. My pa was a human and my ma was a demonic lady, so the parentage was interesting. Not really what most kids get in the ol' home. Still, L.A. had other metahuman children running about in the schools, so one that's purple and has horns and a tail really doesn't attract more attention than necessary. I had a lot of friends over my years in the old schools, but no one really wanted to be super buddy-buddy with a demon-looking lad. I cried to my parents about it somewhat, but not like, more than a usual kid that age cries, y'know? I'm no devilman crybaby.

Eventually, I had to get myself an education. Mom had up and murdered dear old dad just about as soon as I was born, so that was fun. Single mother did pretty well, bless her. Eventually, she decided that it'd be best for me to go into what's called the 'family business'- that being the kind of thing you lot teach at this fancy academy. I'm here to learn, and I'm here to learn well. Also, she told me to make things up whenever I'm asked about my personality or backstory. Sorry, but them's the rules of hellmom."

Tag, anything I should know about?

Edit: Also I ask if it would be able to play a more passive supporting role in that of a cool music teacher, a former villain who kind of got bored of the lifestyle.

I know you say college students, but I know you don't say anything about faculty.

The poster you can find a bit above this, on the same page.

Dude just said he's going to sneak in with a puppet (in telegrams). And I have to admit that it's kind of weird that you tagged only minutes after that and suggested the exact same character archetype that he wanted to play the last time he came around one of my threads.

Oh wow, that's weird. My fault for not reading all the pages. However, my nation is slightly older than his and I don't think I have met or RPed with you.

I think Legion can vouch for me, if you need more verification.

Just read his idea and it's odd how similar they are. But you said it's not allowed so I guess you'll say the same here.

Staff characters are reserved to Co-OPs, yes. Although they aren't as exciting as you might think, since a lot of the time we aren't actively RPing most classes and you would end up not having a lot of stuff to do.

As for the character idea, the "cool teacher" thing has already been suggested by the player in question in other threads which is why I'm suspicious. But after the testimony of others, I'll let it slide for now.

That was the kind of the reason I would want to do it; and if it were possible can I at least make an Application. Just so you can check it out. I don't want to be always active as my schedule doesn't allow.

However if you say no, I totally understand. I don't want to belabour the point. Also turns out I'm not as original as I thought I was.

I mean, it's a hard rule. Adding more staff characters just complicates things and makes this harder to manage, in general.

But the activity requirement for students isn't amazingly high or anything, the main guideline is not to disappear in missions. Well, you can even do that, you should just tell us first so people aren't waiting on your character for a post that isn't coming.
