I do not understand why. Given how strident and ideologically narrow Democrats and Republicans are nowadays, I would expect independents and apolitical people to be more apathetic and disgusted than anything else.

Didn't WRA brought up something that showed independents were just partisans in denial?

In 2010, turnout was at 41%. Midterm turnouts don't usually top 40%, and Republicans are favored to hold the Senate, while Democrats are slightly more likely than Republicans to take the House. However, if Penniman is correct in her predictions, the Democrats should steamroll the House and have a one seat lead in the Senate. In other news, a deficit of Popcorn is expected after Halloween :P

Depends where they are. A major state, Florida may have their turnout somewhat upended now that Michael's come, seen, and leveled the Panhandle, just as Sandy caused turnout to plummet in New York and New Jersey.

Plus it will give Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillium the opportunity to show he can lead.

Oh I don't necessarily dispute that, even so, Project Veritas videos tend to raise red flags among many folks, even a fair few Conservatives see him as problematic.

With the pseudo-extremist rethoric that both parties are yelling at the moment, they are going to great lengths to appeal to as many people as possible, and that includes trying to rally various apolitical, independent or moderate voters by showing a "big tent" facade, even though the partisan and leadership core are swinging increasingly far-left or far-right.

Also, in the US, it is practically pointless to attempt to vote for a third party since they are usually almost instantly knocked out or stiffled by the juggernauts that are the Dems and Reps.

Well, in the US, you have the diverse choice of voting for the far-left, far-right, and a buncha useless third parties...

Have fun!

Given your idea of what "interesting" is, I'd rather not put up anything interesting.

Democrat vs. Democrat

You might as well just burn your constitution, drop the illusion of a republic and declare yourself an oligarchy at this point.

Are you complaining that I took the title of the article I was citing verbatim so you can make some sort of point?

I said DEMOCRAT bias, not LIBERAL bias, just to clarify.

As much as those two are basically intertwined by now, the distinction is still there.

I'd most certainly oppose it regardless of political affiliation.
