The Banquet of Caerlegion [SC Only][Invite Only]

Postby Asgareth » Tue Oct 09, 2018 9:06 am

OOC and Rules

Asgar House, Asgar, Asgareth

"General, General!" His aide shouted as he ran towards him. "You've a letter!"
"The Romans?" He asked. About time, he thought to himself.
"No sir."
"Myraxia?"
"No sir"
"Drekhi, surely?"
"No sir. From some place called... Car... Caer... Caerlegion."
"Carlegon? What a strange name."
"Caerlegion sir. At least, I think that is what the stamp says.
"Well, hand it over."

The general swiftly tore open the envelope, and read:
To your most glorious Imperiali Lord Protector of the Northern Epiloan Islands and Lord Most High of Point d'Vur,

His Majesty Llewyn Ap Gruffyd the Mighty extends his thanks for the message considering the mighty Kingdom of Caerlegion. His Majesty hereby issues an official invitation to a great State Banquet celebrating the death of His Late Majesty King Gruffyd Ap Daffyd I the Dragon Tamer. Any specials requests that you or your Government require of His Majesty will be more than happy to accommodate.

King Regards

The Lord Chamberlain to His Majesty's Privy Council

General de'Lance smirked as he read the letter. "This nation... if we can refer to them as such... have invited us to a banquet. Well, how kind." He paused for a moment, clearly thinking. "Unfortunately our government are spread throughout the world currently. And I am far too busy with this damn war to worry about some far off little nation. Indeed, none of the council can go. Send someone who... isn't so important."
"Ryndal Yisna?"
"Agriculture? Haha. Whilst I agree this nation is irrelevant, I believe we can provide a slightly better honour. What's Beglin up to? He didn't go to Otherkin-dom, did he? Just hanging around as per usual, am I correct?
"Er... yes sir."
"Great. Bentil. And I'm sure the CiC in Epilo can go as well. Bentil and Beglin. Dream Team." The general smirked, picking up a glass of whiskey, and downing it in one.

To His Majesty Llewyn Ap Gruffyd,
I have never heard of the nation of Caerlegion before, and regret to say your father's name was never muttered in my presence. With that said, please accept my sympathies for his passing, and my congratulations on aceeding to the throne.

You may be unaware, but Asgareth is currently embroiled in an inter-continental war, which currently spreads three continents. My best cartographers indicate you are in central Epilo, and so I wish to take this opportunity to reassure you that as long as the Asgarthian Northern Epiloan Islands stand, war shall not break out in Epilo.

With regards to the banquet, I regret I am far too busy in Myraxia to attend the banquet. In my absence, I will send the Commander in Chief of the Northern Epiloan Islands, Axyl Bentil and the Minister for Non-Rusinan Affairs, Edwin Beglin. They request no fewer than seventy six barrels of Asgarthian Ale, to be bought from a brewery in Asgar, and to be transported to your land before the banquet begins.

Once more allow me to express my sympathies and congratulations.
Yours,
The Most Glorious Imperiali Daniel Ross,
Lord Protector of the Northern Epiloan Islands, Lord Most High of Point d'vur and King of the Isle of Gespe.

Isle of Asgareth, Northern Epiloan Islands, Northern Rusinan Sea, Epilo

Axyl Bentil and Edwin Beglin were in the process of boarding an aircraft, en route to Caerlegion.
“So we’re being sent into some 3rd world country, because everybody else couldn’t be bothered to go? Typical.”
“Edwin, if you’d made yourself useful, at any point… be it in Rome, Otherkin dom, or even Nouvel Acadie, you wouldn’t be here.”
“Well, why are you here then?”
“Because as Commander in Chief of the Northern Epiloan Islands, I am in charge of making sure the little Epiloan nations learn their place. Plus, I heard there is an open bar.”

Edwin smirked, as the pair sat on the plane. The Commander was decent enough, for an Asgarthian at least. As long as you didn’t spill his pint.

One and a Half Hours Later, A.F. Caerleon, Caerlegion

The plane landed in a well-maintained airfield. It had been escorted this far by a 50 fighter escort, who landed next to the plane. Two hundred men, from the 19th Ground Force spilled out, and spread out into strategic positions, as the two delegates waited inside. The fighters instantly took off, heading back to Asgareth.

A Caerlegion aide entered the aircraft, and began to talk about so called royal protocol. Neither delegate paid much attention, with Bentil quipping “Open bar ready yet?” as the aide finished. The two stepped off the plane and began tutting as they awaited the arrival of Gruffyd.

The Enternal Sea, just outside Barri Port

“Faster you dogs” yelled the sea Captain. The slaves were already sweating, they looked like death, Kartjan shrugged, “this is what you get when you buy cheap from Rome” Karjan muttered to his brother. Torturus growled and stormed off. Kartjan laughed to himself, his brother was probably the finest warrior he knew but the guy couldn’t manage finances. Kartjan looked up they were arriving into port; two ships were on either side of them escorting them in. The warlord sat down on his throne examining the port of Barri, it was a little small for his liking, he would have preferred something bigger. Kartjan looked behind him, his soldiers were apprehensive, he didn’t blame them he didn’t really want to come either, none of them had ever left Skjoldur before. He didn’t really want his first visit to a foreign power to be somewhere like Caerlegion. However, he didn’t really have a choice with the war against the Goblins escalating Skjoldur needed allies more than ever. The trumpets sounded as the ship began to stop, the engines finally stopped something Kartjan had been looking forward to since the trip had started. He got up and flexed his muscles, this was the part he was not looking forward to, tedious negotiation and politeness that will take up most of the day.

Kartjan signaled his men down the ramp all 60 of them filled down in full Skjoldur armour, the Caerlegion people looked terrified and Kartjan didn’t blame them, these where Skjoldshires elite troopers, the wolves where all above 6’7, muscle bound veterans, covered in bear furs which hid the tough Skjoldur steel imbedded within. All carried guns and of course the traditional eyðileggingu passed down from farther to son throughout the centuries, each eyoileggingu had its own story and each soldier had its own connection to it, however to the ordinary citizen it was basically and battle axe with a shotgun in it.
Kartjan looked over at king Llweyn ap Gruffyd, he took a deep breath put on his fake smile and began to walk over to the king.

IRS Caligula, Territorial waters of the Kingdom of Caerlegion, The Eternal Sea

“So where am I going again?” Asked Prince Drusus. “Caerlegion my prince” responded one of his diplomatic aides, “a small nation on the continent of Epilo. Their king invited your illustrious father but...”

“He’s still on holiday and still hates foreigners got it.” Drusus interrupted with a sigh. He was the youngest of the Caesars sons, having only recently turned 16, and was always being stuck with the worst jobs. His second brother was fighting a brilliant campaign against the savage Gaul’s and his eldest brother was effectively running the Imperium whilst their father took some time off and Drusus would be bored in some backwater on the other end of the world. Typical. At least the drinks would be free…

The prince got up and stretched then snapped his fingers towards the navigation officer. “Trierarch. How long until we arrive?” The man tapped at his console. “About an hour out my Prince if we hold current speed. We will run into their flagship in about 45mins.” Drusus raised an eyebrow “any threat?” The Trierarch smirked “No Sire. An overlarge destroyer; mostly obsolete, the Asgarthians wouldn’t even float her.”

“Damning words indeed…” Drusus said dryly turning away towards yet another of his aids. “You did pack my brothers presents correct?” He said, with only a hint of malice in his voice. “Of course, my Prince” the man said nervously. “Good” Drusus said airily “Have the pilots suit up and send for my body slaves, I have a mind to go ahead.”

Port of Carmarthen, Kingdom of Caerlegion

The, relative, tranquillity of the port was broken by the roaring sound of 4 flat shaped aircraft with a larger one in the middle of them passing overhead. Simultaneously the four released their payload into a (sort of) empty part of the port. They landed with an almighty smash and created a wave of dust and debris. When it cleared everyone could see large humanoid machines with bulky compartments on the back, covered in massive capes, wielding large electric lances. Their ‘faces’ opened to reveal some sort of scanning device that surveyed the area.

A few seconds of silence passed before the fifth object was released. This machine was even larger than the four that had preceded it and was coloured a stark white and wielding a large metallic sword.

“I am the Prince Gaius Octavius Drusus Filius Caesaris.” The white mech said in an amplified voice “who speaks for your kingdom?”

Pembroke Castle, The Throne Room

After meeting the delegates from the three nations and showing them to their specially constructed Villas, the King arrived back at Pembroke. He exclaimed “ My God, what a bloody hard time that was. Those ruddy Skjoldur are just brutes, the Asgrarethians are pompous twits and the Roman are just Romans. But to make this nation a dominate world power we need their patronage” He then removed his ceremonial robes and sat upon his Golden Throne encrusted with the bones of the Great Dragon scrounge Tomas the Evil. The King then takes a sip from his Great Grandfathers chalice. For the King knew that the 5 Days are going to be hell but he was willing to sacrifice this for the good of his people. The King then went to the Royal Kitchen to ask his favourite Chef Gino to make his favourite sandwich before he travelled to the Villas to ensure his Guests are settled in, “Gino”, Llweyn shouted, “Prepare my sandwich”. After he ensured His guests are settled in the King retired to his Bed chambers and ordered his Favourite proustite to relive him of his stress.

The Asgarthian delegates were sat in the villa, drinking from the well-stocked bar. They’d almost extinguished their supply, when Axyl Bentil had a stroke of genius.
“Edwin, why don’t we invite the Romans to come drink with us? Tell them to bring their supply of alcohol, and we’ll have a good bash.”
“Who did the Romans send? Trajan?”
“Drussus” Axyl chuckled. “Dumb kid. I hear he thinks he can solo the Acadiens. More foolish than Caesar, but a little less fat.”
Edwin chuckled. .”Is it true that they’ve invited a bunch of barbarians to the banquet as well? I hope they’ve learnt how to use a knife and fork.”
Axyl laughed heartily, before stating “Nah, the barbarians are the ones hosting the banquet. These… Skjoldurians? Yeah, they’re just Roman experiments that got out of hand. Apparently they ate a Caesar once, about 300 years ago.”
“They sound fun. Invite them too.”

Invitations were sent to the delegates from Rome, and Skjoldur, on the condition that they brought as much alcohol as they could carry.

Kartjan sat in his chair listening to the messenger, apparently the Asgardians had invited him and that Roman kid to a little pre meeting, providing they brought alcohol. Kartjan sighed, he should probably accept, it was important to meet the people before they began negotiating. He signaled to his brother, “Torturus take Guðmundur and Viktor grab some of the vodka in stock, not the good stuff it would probably kill them, take the stuff we give to the kids”. He stood up and they came back up with the bottles right he said “listen up, I know what you guys are like when you drink, but we cannot kill any of these people, so no fighting”, a murmur of discontent ran around the group “and another thing” Kartjan said raising his voice for affect “this roman kid seems a bit of a psycho, he already dropped bombs on the port he’s arriving at, so no one piss this little weirdo off ok, he will probably declare war on us on the spot”. The group of four arrived at the Asgardian villa, Torturus began knocking on the door but accidentally broke it, Kartjan looked in to see to very fat quite ill looking Asgardian diplomats standing there obviously drunk, Kartjan smiled to himself this was going to be interesting, perhaps he could get these two so drunk that they would agree to his demands out right, “let the games begin” he muttered to Torturus who chuckled to himself, this was going to be a fun night.

“Some drinks eh?” Drusus pondered aloud at the slightly inebriated Asgarthian aide “already drank through that dross you call ale. I had a glass of it once, cleaned up the slave pens nicely.” The aide looked like he would say something but wisely hiccupped instead. Trajan looked around the cramped shack their hosts had put them up in. Only 4 floors! Scandalous treatment of proper royalty.
“Oh, very well” he said graciously he turned to one of his mistresses, some senator’s young daughter trying to curry favour, “my dear grab some wine from the reserve. Oh, and enough cocaine to kill a whole stable of horses and lets pray to the gods the Asgarthians didn’t send the same doddering old fools they always bring. Speaking of which” he turned to the aide “who did your ‘imperii’ send then? Please say Larkin’s here I once saw him do a line off a man’s…”
“The honour...hic…able Daniel Ross has s…hic…ent: Axel Bentil and Edwin Beglin. Bentil and Beglin ha!” He dissolved into a fit of giggles. “Axel…” Drusus thought aloud. Then he remembered head of those dismal islands he’d been stuck on the last month. Very pretty young wife whom the prince had become very well acquainted with a few times when invited to dine with the commander. “Ah well” he said to a wall “what are the chances he’d remember?”

The Skjoldurians had been the first to arrive. A slight tap on the door, and it fell down. The two LEAN Asgarthian delegates studied the vikings. They seemed shorter than they expected. A sign on the door, which had previously read “Please leave your axe at the door” had been flung off towards the fireplace. Instinctively, Axyl reached for the vodka, and downed a bottle. “It tastes like shite, my friend. What is this? Water? Do better next time.”

No sooner had the Skjoldurians entered, had a large noise occurred at the other side of the room. Completely oblivious to the hole, Axyl watched as the Romans entered. He spoke to Drussus “Hey kid. Snuck out of school again? Come now, it’s almost your bedtime.” He chuckled, as he watched the pale face of the third, and often forgotten son, of Caesar.

“Now then, before we start smashing any more walls, or setting fire to anything… just remember Asgareth could defeat both of you, simultaneously whilst fighting the Iryllians. Put simply, don’t do anything stupid. Now Drussus, is it true you recently got caught getting *ahem* by a pig?”

The delegates chuckled, as they studied the Roman’s reaction.

Kartjan rolled his eyes as the Romans and Asgardians had their semi-friendly banter. The Asgardians had already been drinking and had finished of the bottle of water, obviously to re-hydrate. The prince was younger the Kartjan had expected he looked about 12, already drinking. Kartjan introduced himself the prince “Ah prince Drusus, it’s a pleasure to meet you” he said “holy hell” said the prince “your massive, do you want to kill someone for me”, Kartjan sighed, it was going to be one of these days, he glanced over to the two FAT Asgardian diplomats, they were talking to themselves giggling about something, he then downed his bottle of vodka and looked over to his for mates, “listen up, I can’t be bothered to be nice to these guys, how about we show these pussy's how to drink”, the men grunted and started to drink there vodka, Kartjan glanced over and saw a Caerlegion flag on the wall, “screw it” he said tearing it down and soaking it in vodka, he set it a light and threw it at the Asgardians, luckily they got out the way. Kartjan laughed slapping both the diplomats on the backs, welcome to a Skjoldiur party he roared turning to a bag of white powder the prince had on him

Drusus smiled widely at the old man, if there was one thing a younger brother was good at it was quips. “I wouldn’t call your wife a pig Axel, she makes such great coffee in the mornings…” The prince slapped the old man on the shoulder hard enough to make him stumble a bit and rubbed his Caesarian nose vigorously.

“Now gentlemen, if you’ll excuse me the lovely Flavia Cato has my…supplies. Lovely woman, her father owns half of Ravenna. Well owned anyway.” Drusus laughed and turned his back on the octogenarian, who’s face held an odd mixture of shock and impotent rage, and strode over to the drinks table, closely shadowed by his Praetorians.

The prince was pleasantly surprised by the barbarian warlord, though his enormous size clearly didn’t mean an enormous brain. He vaguely recalled a report his brother Nero had sent about some ancestor of his being worshiped by them, a few more million worshipers couldn’t mean much to his divine ancestors though.

He watched as the brute with a gold band on his head stumbled over drinking a bottle of something that smelled…flammable. “Here brute” he called, with the confidence of one who had a small fleet near by and who also had snorted a whole plantation, “take this!” Drusus passed him a whole bag. The savage looked confused but promptly ate the whole thing. The prince’s eyes went wet with laughter as the barbarian kings’ pupils shrank to pinpricks and he started smashing expensive looking pillars. Drusus did the only sensible thing that could have occurred to him. He howled and threw gold coins at Kartjan encouraging his companions to do likewise.

“First warning.” Axyl stated, staring at the small brutish leader.” If another flag, even one from such an irrelevant nation gets set alight again, we will have no choice but to leave you to be devoured by greenskins.”

He ignored Drusus, for a moment, as he walked to Edwin. “We’ve got to shut this down. Now. They’re all barbarians. They’re cattle. They should be shot.”
Edwin chuckled as he nodded. “Go on then, shut it down.”

The two LEAN Asgarthian delegates called the two nations to attention. “Right, that’s enough. You lot,” Axyl motioned at the vikings “get rid of those ashes before I have your entire nation nuked.” He turned to Drusus “And you, grow up you spoilt brat. My wife confessed. Are you aware she is due to be executed tomorrow for sleeping with a subhuman? Are you? I thought not. I’d kill you right now, if it weren’t for the fact I’m supposed to be nice this week. You know she told me everything, right? I’ve daughters with bigger balls than you.”

Axyl motioned, and swiftly 200 troops swarmed on the villa, swiftly forcing the delegates from Rome out. The brute, meanwhile, had ended up passed out on the floor, in a pile of his own vomit; or at least what Axyl assumed to be vomit - though in fairness, what type of vomit was a pinkish blue?

To keep calm in this stressful period in the Banquet, the King arrived and offered the Asgarthians rooms in this Castle, he then went the Prince Drusus and he Vikings, using all the years of diplomatic training and said "Your Imperial Highness and Vikings, whatever the custom may be in your respective nations here we do not burn Villas for foreign guests" The King added "I expect compensation for the damages and Vikings if you want me to form a formal alliance to defeat the Goblins then you shall be on your best behaviour otherwise me and country will not join. Also, Prince Drusus, even though you are 16 and considered but a Child in my nation I know full well that in Rome 16 is considered manhood and as a man you pay my treasury 100,000,000 Legion Standard for when your robots destroyed the Port of Carmarthen, not even to mention the 2,500 injuries you have caused and 20 deaths for your reckless stupidity. Your Father shall hear of this Boy" The entire 16th Foot and Mouth Regiment of 3,000 men under the Command of Colonel William Morris was deployed to keep the peace between the Nations. Finally, before the King departed he added one final note, "I invited you here to honour my Father Gruffyd Ap Llweyn the Dragon Tamer, and to be invited to this great feast is a one of the highest honours one could receive in my country and you are treating my nation like its your personal playground. But I am willing in the name of keeping the peace and pursuing an Alliance between our four nations to overlook your high disrespect and carry on pursuing that Alliance. I bid you all good night and look forward to tomorrow we that great Alliance can be forged and we differences can be put aside in the name of forging a great Alliance that will be in the history books until the end of Time itself."

Drusus flared his nostrils angrily. To think this jumped up savage believed he could dictate terms to a son of Caesar! “If you truly believe my father even knows who you are you’re even more delusional than I already thought.” He snapped his fingers and a slave ran forward carrying a bag of coins. The prince rummaged through it and brought out three Roman Denarii.

“Here barbarian” Drusus spat “that should more than cover it and don’t forget my change. Oh, and speak to a prince of Rome with such disrespect again and ill show you much more than 20 deaths!”

The prince spat at Llewyn’s feet and turned around storming towards his villa closely flanked by 30 Praetorians. “One more thing” he called over his shoulder “remove these dogs from my presence.” Drusus pointed at the rabble the Caerlegionairs called soldiers “or ill show you what my mechs can really do!”

Throne Room of Pembroke Castle

"What a night!!" the King exclaimed, Lord Arthur replied "What happened my King?", the King looked depressed and took a sip from his favourite whiskey, "His Imperial Prince Drusus has threatened to inform his father the Mighty Caesar that I told him off for his antics and he threatened to declare War on us, I can not risk war with the Romans Lord Arthur, What am I to do?" Pondering for a moment Lord Arthur replied "I can not think of a solution my Liege." Then His Grace the General Mark Anthony, who was listening in to the conversation, offered his solution, "My Lord, I have a solution, offered Drusus a Grand Duchy and some land to appease him and appease his father." His Majesty looked at his most trusted friend and Ally, "Mark, my friend that is a brilliant idea. Lord Arthur kindly send Prince Drusus a invite to the Throne Room" The King took a further of his whiskey and took a heavy sigh and readied for the arrival of Prince Drusus.

Roman Villa, Grounds of Pembroke Castle, Kingdom of Caerlegion

The atmosphere in the villa was tense. Prince Drusus has returned in a fowl mood and had spent the past few hours smashing some of the more valuable ordainments before collapsing due to a mixture of exhaustion, wine and liberal amounts of cocaine. The slaves had been scurrying around desperately attempting to clean the worst of the damage before their master awoke curious about why his villa looked like it had hosted a Skjoldur wedding. It was to this environment that the Lord Arthur Pendragon was confronted with as he approached the Princes residence.

“You come alone sir?” One of the Praetorians guarding the entrance asked. “Yes. I bear a message from King Llewyn to the noble Prince Drusus. Anyway, your prince was abundantly clear about what he would do if he saw any Caerlegion troops.” The Praetorian grunted in approval, he exchanged a look with his compatriot and an unspoken conversation, weighing up the likelihood of instant execution to whomever woke Drusus compared to the likelihood of prolonged execution from Nero for stopping a potentially important message reaching the young prince, was had.

Eventually the lead guardsman sighed “We’ll have someone wake up the Prince. He’ll be with you shortly.” The man looked around nervously “just between me and you sir. Good luck, you’ll need it.”

Two Hours Later

“So...” Drusus said irritably “the barbarian sends his lackey to me? What do you want…Andrew was it?” To his credit the Lord Chamberlin was able to keep his composure, he looked at the young man and smiled diplomatically. “King Llewellyn requests your imperial highnesses presence in the throne room at your earliest convenience to discuss the…unpleasantness of tonight.”

The prince snorted “does he? Well I’m far too tired to stand in a mud hut and hear mumbled apologies in your savage tongue. I’ll send him a token of my affection though.” He turned to one of the guards surrounding him “You. Put this man’s eye out and be quick about it!” The guardsman saluted, shouldered his rifle, and drew a sword from his scabbard and walked towards Arthur.

“Wait!” Called the Chamberlin with only a hint of nervousness “If I am harmed my lord king will be saddened and may not give you the great gift he had in mind!” Drusus raised a hand, halting the Praetorian. “Gift eh? Oh, very well may keep your eye for now. Though if I am disappointed…” The guardsman ran a thumb down the length of his sword with a devilish grin. Arthur gulped and bowed, “I will inform the King of your gracious acceptance. I trust you know where the throne room is?” Drusus waved a hand in accent and shouted for his body slaves to fetch his armour.

The Throne Room Pembroke Castle,

The moonlight shrine through an open window onto the King sitting on his Golden Throne that had a Dragon Skull embedded. He was waiting for the arrival of Prince Drusus for an hour. Finally, the doors swung open and the Lord Arthur announced the Prince to the King, "His Imperial Highness the Prince Drusus, My Lord." The King got up from his throne and walked gingerly down the steps to greet the Prince. "Prince Drusus, thank you for accepting my invitation at this late hour. I trust your Villa is satisfactory?" Drusus took the arm of the King and replied "It will do, back home in Rome I am accustomed to more luxurious surroundings, WHY did you summon me at this late hour?" The King showed Drusus up to sit next to the throne on a Golden Chair that is intending to be a peace offering. As Drusus sat next to the Royal Throne, the King began to speak, "My Dear Drusus please accept my most humble of apologies if I caused you or your Father any offence earlier this night. As a gesture of the friendship I hope to forge with Rome, I am giving you the Grand Duchy of Gwenyyd, you may bring your troops from home but you have to pay for the upkeep of said soldiers and give me a 35% tax form your estate. Also, I am giving you a place on my Privy Council and War Council. I hope this offering will be accepted my friend." Drusus with his Chestire grin, "I accept your apology Your Lord, but I want my estate to be hereditary" The King somehow knew this was coming and nodded his head in agreement. "I hope this can be the start of a strong friendship Your Grace" said the King, "The Lord Arthur will escort you back to your Villa, Goodnight Your Grace", Drusus stood up and embraced the King as a friend and bid him Goodnight.

Outside the royal place of Prembrook Palace
Kartjan stretched his arms high into the sky, looking around he was appalled by the squalor that the Caerlegion’s surrounded themselves in. The palace itself was a pretty pointless building, very hard to defend and utterly pointless for storage, he surpassed that the Caerlegions king’s egos had just taken over to build this building.

Kartjan was feeling un-easy, with last night’s antics weighing heavy upon him and knowing that the Roman prince and the two FAT Asgardian diplomats would be on fine form, trying to get a repeat from last night, that’s why Torturous had stayed in the villa and Kartjan had only taken 5 of his well trusted men, they were unarmed apart from their eyðileggingu, however his men where not worried knowing that was all they needed to cause some damage.
Kartjan began walking up the stairs up to the pompous prick Lord Arthur, Kartjan didn’t trust him, anyone who looked that proud and important in what was basically a dress, could not be trusted. “Your majesty” began Lord Arthur “it is a pleasure to welcome you to Prembrook palace”, Kartjan nodded in thanks “Lord Arthur” Kartjan said sternly “is there a reason the King could not come and greet me”, Lord Arthur smiled a nervous smile “I believe your majesty that King Llewellyn is busy”, Kartjan laughed a long bellowing laugh “you mean he’s polishing the throne for Drusus, I heard he’s already given land to the kid”, Lord Arthur bowed his head choosing wisely not to respond. “Come” said Kartjan “let’s go and fill are belly’s and quench are first and wait for the others to arrive, then we can discuss the war”, Kartjan began walking up the steps followed closely by Arthur. Kartjan paused and turned around “oh Arthur, I have a little surprise to you and your king” he grinned “I’ll bring it near the end of the feast”. Arthur gulped nervously “please don’t destroy the palace” he muttered to himself.

The Asgarthian delegates had found themselves being forcibly relocated from their private villa in the middle of the night. The actions of Drusus and the Skjoldurians had resulted in the burning down of their comfortable rooms. Instead, they now resided within the castle, having been provided some of the best rooms in the castle – though the castle itself was quite pointless. The Asgarthians had spent the morning drinking, in a desperate attempt to cure their hangovers. By 12 o’clock, their plan had worked and they spent the rest of the time drinking, in a desperate attempt to get drunk before the banquet. Succeeding once more, the two swiftly got ready and left their rooms by sunset.

The two LEAN delegates swiftly made their way to the grand hall. There, they noticed the Skjoldurians had already arrived, a fact that came as a surprise to the Asgarthians. They had expected the Skjoldurians to be short, idiotic barbarians who had little regard for arriving within a timely manner. Instead, it appeared as though the Skjoldurians had arrived three hours early – or at least Axyl assumed, owing to the amount of empty barrels and bottles. Lord Arthur instantly approached the two delegates and swiftly welcomed them. When questioned as to why King Louis had failed to welcome the delegates, they were informed he was stuck in the royal chambers. Instead, Arthur lead the two delegates to their seats, who immediately ordered thirteen barrels of ale. There, they waited for the Romans, and for King Louis.

Pembroke Castle, Kingdom of Caerlegion

“Make way for the noble Prince Gaius Octavius Drusus Filius Caesaris, Nepos Dei, Protector Populorum, Dux Gwyneddis et Princeps Romae in Perpetuum!” Called the Praetorian Captain clearing a way for their prince.
Drusus was pleasantly surprised to see that the king’s courtiers bowing to him. Which was his due as the Duke of Gwynedd; true he’d never even heard of the place, he wasn’t 100% sure where it was, and he resented being woken up for just an ennoblement but nevertheless it was nice to see foreigners acknowledge him as their better.

The throng of courtiers, petitioners and other irrelevants (the latter of whom were well suited to this abysmal castle) finally broke and the Prince noticed Lord Arthur coming, somewhat nervously, towards his wall of guards. “Ah Lord Arthur.” Drusus said amicably “so good to see you again!”
Arthur rubbed his eye subconsciously “and you your grace” he mumbled. “Oh yes sorry about the whole eye business” Drusus said his tone unchanged “I was a little irritable no sleep and cocaine for dinner will do that to you. Speaking of which…” He gestured a slave forward who presented him a silver tray with some white lines on it. Drusus dipped his head down and soon emerged rubbing his nose.

“Ahhh, that’s better.” The prince said energetically. “So, Arthur. Who’s already here?” Arthur barely blinked at the Princes blatant behaviour. “Both the Asgarthians and the Skjoldur have already arrived Your Grace. The king will join you soon.” Drusus frowned but another tray soon set him back to smiling. “Ah well. You’d think he would meet a prince and a duke in person. Hope the brutes brought some that flammable stuff. It burned a hole in the villa you know...

Great Hall of Pembroke Castle

The King was kept busy with matters of preparing His Army for the invasion of the Goblins which has diverted his attention from the banquet. After he has told his generals the pan for invasion he donns his ceremonial robes, his Golden Chest Armour which is engraved with the symbol of the great nation of Caerlegion. He sheath his Grandfaters bastard sword, Lord Arthur arrives to announce that the delegation from each nation has arrived and awaiting the Kings arrival, "This is gonna be a long night, I just hope that little shit Drusus' behaviour won't cause me a headache. I pray that that those Brutes from the South don't drink too much and those pompous pricks looking down at me and my kingdom" Llweyn thought to himself. Finally, the King arrives at the Great Hall and greeted his guests before asking them to sit down to the 4 course banquet. After which the King invited Kartjan, Drusus and Axel to a private room in the Castle to discuss the formation of The Confederacy of Non-Allied Powers and also for the King and Kartjan to discuss the invasion of the Goblin horde.

Axyl sighed as Louis forced the delegations apart. In his view, it was most improper to separate the delegates. Had this banquet been in Asgareth, all delegates would attend the alliance meeting. Instead, he found himself surrounded by three morons, as he assumed his seat at the head of the table.
He smirked around at the trio, before he spoke. “I believe it may be best, for Asgareth to begin proceedings, given our… prowess, and influence on the global stage. General Edmund de’Lance sent this letter, which I shall now read to you:

Honourable delegates and Drusus,
I regret my unfortunate absence, but please receive my blessing. The alliance between Rome and Asgareth has served the world well for centuries. In that time, we have fought the Myraxians, the Iryllians, the Valyriens, the Drekhii, the Acadiens, the Coventali, the Tai Rukans, the Greenskins, and each other. It is a beautiful thing, the expansion of said alliance. The Confederacy of Non-Aligned Powers shall serve Origin well. A joint taskforce shall stop this current conflict, and turn Origin into one global superpower.

But we must not rush into any alliance. Take time, stay silent. Tell no one.
Yours,
Gen. Edmund de’Lance
CiC of the Combined Allied Forces, CiC of the Rusinan Front

Axyl turned to the delegates. “How nice. Now, to matters. I wish to first discuss the military aspect of any alliance. A pure military alliance, could, perhaps, be considered our overarching goal. But for now, I feel it best to stick strictly with defensive agreements. Some members of this alliance..." Axyl started, as his attention turned, first to Drusus, and then to the incredibly short skjoldurians, "... are a little too trigger happy for Asgareth's liking. A pure defensive agreement, which clearly states we must support one another at our times of need, is all that is required for now, in our opinion. Drusus, please... speak for Rome."

Kartjan stood up

“Gentlemen, I understand Asgardians and Romans nervousness in entering into a full alliance, well let me assure both of you that the Skjoldur has made peace to the Valeryians, the Goblins are utterly on their own, me and King whatever” he gestured to the Carelegion king, “will attack the goblins, allowing you to deal with the real threat, the Skoldurian people will only focus on the Goblins and are willing to adhere to a more peaceful co-existence with the rest of world, apart from the Goblins”.

Drusus snorted aloud at the use of the words ‘trigger happy’. But he wasn’t really surprised. If there was anything that month on those miserable islands had taught the young prince, it was that Asgareth was run by old fools such as these. How their nation managed to continue with such insufferable stagnation it is upper echelons was beyond him. Surprisingly he’d heard similar things in the wine sinks and flesh pits of the Epiloan Islands, the young officers and even some of the soldiery were becoming evermore discontent. Drusus smiled dreamily imagining the fate of the doddering general when the pot finally overboiled.

The prince was startled back into awareness by the mention of his name. Before he could gather himself to respond, however, the Skjoldur Chief stood and went on about his hatred of the goblins. Drusus nodded in approval, if anyone could distract the green hordes it would be these brutes and if the Caerlegionares were willing to jump in all the better. At the very least it would lessen the risk of the gobbos sticking their noses into Gaul. After the warlord sat down Drusus leaned back in his chair and yawned.

“Caesar agrees in principle with the... venerable general.” The Prince started lazily, “my illustrious father also strongly believes that combined we could project a formidable presence on the world stage. What he does not want however is to be drawn into a protracted war on the other side of the world, not when my dear brother has effectively committed us to perpetual war with the Gauls.” Drusus stretched his arms and gave off another loud yawn. “Speaking on behalf of the Imperium, I agree to the notion of a defensive confederacy.” He continued, “In addition the Kingdoms of Caerlegion and Skjoldur should sign a separate full alliance for their invasion of Aurrum. To be signed and sealed either today in secret or publicly after the invasion.” He grinned, “after all we don’t want to give those subhomines too much warning.”
