Ok, we as the readers don't know. But in terms of Roleplay World Building, we do need to establish that information at least for internal consistency. So if in this RP Jon Snow is Lyanna and Rhaegar's child, then the characters involved should be appropriately written based on that. If Lyanna never got pregnant in this RP's universe, and decided to love Robert (the books do say she didn't want to be with him), then OOC that should probably be established.

I'm interested in House Arryn, btw.

In the setting, Jon is still known as Neds bastard, so we will act like Lyanna never caught the sickness that killed her (we don’t know if it was pregnancy) and Ned still picks up a bastard

Right but OOC details need to be established. If Lyanna actually had a kid, her body would show it and psychologically she would show it (why would she abandon her child to happily marry the man who slew the father of said child?) and that would be relevant to RPing. And then Ned showing up with a baby at the same time would be extremely suspicious. Plus Robert's future queen being a victim of rape might disqualify her in the eyes of the chauvinistic Westerosi nobility.

I think these are OOC matters that should be addressed. Why did Lyanna consent to marrying Robert in this timeline? If she didn't, why did Ned force her to marry Robert and separate her from her baby?

So for the RP's canon Jon is actually Ned's? Was Lyanna in love with Rhaegar or actually kidnapped? Whoever plays Lyanna will need to know this for their own character's motivations and outlook on the Baratheon house.

I’m taking Lyana for those exact reasons

And yes Jon is actually Neds in the RP.

I’m kinda hoping GRRM pulls a massive psych on R+L=J

It would be a bit of a switch to make R+L=/=J

If we're making small changes, is it ok for me to have Jon Arryn be remarried?

Lyanna was set to marry Robert even before her “kidnapping”. Also even if she was rowdy, this is a feudal society and she is a woman.

Also there are several sub theories to R+L=J. We could say Lyanna was actually kidnapped, and raped instead of “being in love”. (I personally believe that Rhaegar only wanted Lyanna to fulfill a prophecy.)

On another note, I believe Robert would still happily marry Lyanna even if she was “raped”. Her being “raped” would still make his anger towards the Targaryens grow. Especially if Rhaegar’s kids are still alive.

Anyway, guess I’ll make my Targaryen apps tonight. I’m gonna say that the Targaryens were hunted to a greater extent in this timeline since Aegon and Rhaenys are both alive.

Well, let’s assume for now that Jon is Ned’s, and if we want to reveal anything later, then we can. And plus, we don’t know if that’s the case in the books. It’s kikely Jon’s Father is a Targaryen, but not confirmed book-wise

Hmmst. I desire to be the last Blackfyre, or one of a small contingent that distanced themselves form Maelys. Perhaps they backed Young Geoff along with Ilyrio.

But if Aegon's taking center stage, what of Viserys and Danny?

NS Nation: Skaldia
Character: Oberyn Martell
Titles: Prince, Ser, The Viper, the Red Snake, Oberyn Viper
Sex: Male
Age: 37
Appearance:

Immediate Family:
Doran Martell, brother, 47
Elia Martell, sister, 38
The Sand Snakes: Ellaria Sand(lover, unknown), Obara Sand(daughter,23), Nymeria Sand(daughter,20), Tyene Sand (daughter,18), Sarella Sand(daughter,14), Elia Sand(daughter,9), Obella Sand(daughter,7), Dorea Sand(daughter,3), Loreza Sand(daughter,2),

House: Martell
House Crest: Image
Biography: In his youth, Oberyn was fostered at Sandstone. When in his teens, Oberyn travelled with his mother, the ruling Princess of Dorne, and his sister, Princess Elia Martell, and met multiple potential marriage candidates for his sister, visiting castles at Starfall, the Arbor, Oldtown, the Shield Islands, and Crakehall. Oberyn spent his time mocking Elia's suitors. The last castle they visited was Casterly Rock, where they arrived shortly after the death of Joanna Lannister in childbirth. According to Oberyn, his mother and Lady Joanna had planned to wed either Oberyn to Cersei Lannister, or Elia to Jaime Lannister, or both. Lord Tywin Lannister, however, was unreceptive of the suggestion, stating that his daughter would marry Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. He offered the newborn Tyrion Lannister as a husband for Elia instead, which was seen as an insult.

At the age of sixteen, Oberyn was found in bed with the paramour of Lord Edgar Yronwood, so the lord challenged him to a duel. The duel was to first blood, given the prince's youth and high birth, and both took cuts. Edgar's wounds festered and killed him. Oberyn has been known as the "Red Viper" ever since by friends and foes alike, due to rumors that he fought the duel with a poisoned blade. Afterward, Oberyn was sent to Oldtown and then to Lys in temporary exile (though none called it such) in order for House Martell to make peace with House Yronwood, and Prince Quentyn Martell was sent as a ward to Yronwood.

Oberyn traveled extensively in the Free Cities, where he learned much about poisons and perhaps even darker arts. He had studied at the Citadel, going so far as to forge six links of a maester's chain before he grew bored. He had soldiered in the Disputed Lands across the narrow sea, riding with the Second Sons for a time before forming his own company. It is said that he beds both men and women, and has begotten eight bastard daughters, called the Sand Snakes. Oberyn, however, does not let his children grow up wanting: he takes responsibility for them, and actively seeks to help raise all his children (something few lords do when it comes to their bastard offspring). He teaches them how to defend themselves and allows them great independence in growing up.

During Robert's Rebellion, he returned to Dorne and urged Doran to go to war against the usurpers, mostly in an attempt to come to the aid of his sister, Elia. Instead, Rhaegar died on the Trident along with Lewyn Martell who would have commanded the Dornish Army. Elia escaped the Sack of King's Landing. Since then, Oberyn has left Westeros once more in an attempt to garner support in the lands of Essos, reforming his own mercenary band. He hopes to join forces with Elia and the Targaryens and force the Baratheons off of their throne.

Biography: Doran was the first born child of his parents, and thus heir to his mother, the Princess of Dorne. For years, he was an only child, as his mother had several miscarriages. While he would have four siblings, Mors and Olyvar, both died in the cradle. Doran spent several years of his childhood at the Water Gardens, and by the age of nine, he was a squire to Lord Gargalen at Salt Shore. While there, his mother gave birth to his sister, Elia. As Elia had been born one month premature, Doran was convinced that his sister too would die, as their brothers had done before, but she survived. A year later, Doran's brother Oberyn was born.

As a young man, Doran took a tour through the Free Cities. He visited Volantis and next went to Norvos, where he met his future wife, Lady Mellario. They fell in love and Mellario returned to Dorne with Doran, where they were betrothed and would soon after marry. Areo Hotah escorted Mellario and entered the service of House Martell. In 273 AC, when his mother, her consort, and Doran's two younger siblings traveled through the south of Seven Kingdoms on a quest to find suitable matches for Elia and Oberyn, Doran stayed behind as castellan of Sunspear, with Mellario. Although Mellario was high born enough to become his wife, most marriages between nobles in Westeros are political. A love match is very uncommon. In 276 AC, Doran and Mellario's first child, Arianne, was born. Around 279 AC, Doran inherited the rule of Dorne.

An unknown amount of time after his siblings had traveled to find suitable marriage candidates, Doran's brother Oberyn fought in a duel with Lord Edgar Yronwood. Due to Oberyn's high birth and young age, the two men had agreed to duel until first blood. Both men were injured, but when Oberyn's cuts healed, and Lord Edgar's festered, eventually resulting in his death, it was whispered Oberyn had fought with a poisoned blade. Doran acted swiftly, sending Oberyn into temporary exile.

Doran's sister Elia Martell was betrothed to Crown Prince Rhaegar Targaryen in early 279 AC, and wed him a year later. She had two young children by Rhaegar, Rhaenys and Aegon. When Rhaegar disappeared with Lyanna Stark in 282 AC, not long after Aegon's birth, it started a chain of events leading to Robert's Rebellion, in which the north, and several houses from the stormlands and the Vale of Arryn (later joined by several houses from the riverlands) fought against the Iron Throne and House Targaryen. Doran was furious about the way Elia had been treated by Rhaegar, and as a consequence was slow to lend any aid to the Targaryens. After Rhaegar returned from the south to King's Landing, Doran agreed to send ten thousand Dornishmen to fight in the loyalist army, under the command of his uncle, Prince Lewyn Martell of the Kingsguard, understanding that Elia, as the wife to the crown prince, would one day become queen, and that her son Aegon would one day be king.

However, Rhaegar died at the battle of the Trident, as did Doran's uncle, Lewyn, and King Aerys II Targaryen, believing that Lewyn had betrayed Rhaegar on the Trident, refused to send Elia and her children to Dragonstone alongside his own wife, Queen Rhaella Targaryen, and their son Viserys. Not long after, during the sack of King's Landing, Elia and her children escaped the sacking of King's Landing but Robert claimed the throne. Doran met with Lord Arryn, who had come to make peace with Dorne. Doran played his part and acquiesed to the new King's desires. Since then, he has quietly been building Dorne's strength in the hopes that the Targaryens and his brother will return soon.

Wait, I am a great confuzzle.

If Luanne is alive and currently Queen of Westeros, doe she have kids? Whatever happened to the Lannisters of this timeline? Are Jamie and Cersei still banging on the DL (who am I kidding, of course they are). If so, then would Jeoffrey, Tommen and Myrcella still exist?

Edit: Reserve House Harlaw of the Iron Islands, I have an idea...

I changed Mellario's age to 46. I realized that, if she had gave birth to Arianne at her previous age, she would have been 13. On the information they provided on Mellario, there was some leeway on the age.
