The Supreme Leader is Dead, Long Live the Supreme Leader!

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we must report to the rest of the Realm of the passing of our beloved Supreme Leader, Valerian Trifa, the second to hold Supreme Leadership over the Realm following the ousting of the inert monarchy almost a century ago. According to the Imperial Funerary Commissariat, the cause of the Supreme Leader's death has been announced as a hemorrhagic stroke caused by blunt-force trauma to the brain, claiming the octogenarian's life early yesterday morning. Supreme Leader Trifa's leadership saw the return of Noctia as a global power, as Noctish forces once again secured lands and riches from across the Charter world. Bloody victories brought the savages of Archon and Southern Rusina to heel, even as Noctia now chafes under the coil of Asgareti border-ship, its rightful lands under the sway of barbarians. Such efforts culminated in the reconquest of the old Nokoti homeland in the far northern wastes of Sintuvel, areas long abandoned by the Realm in the aftermath of the Great Cataclysm over four centuries ago. A week of mourning has officially been called by the Imperial Funerary Commissariat, even as the next Supreme Leader of the Noctish Realm was sworn in.

The streets of central Neustri were abuzz with activity in the wake of a military parade held in honour of the deceased leadership. Columns upon columns of soldiers marched in dedicated formation along the main avenue in Neustri, uniformly dressed in the most traditional Nokoti battle attire, thousands of 12-foot pikes piercing the skies above them as they marched. The elaborately-decorated coffin of the Supreme Leader occupied the center-most position as it inched down the avenue towards Corvin Square, the heart of Neustri itself, while large crowds gathered along the route in mourning and celebration. The sun had already set by the time the parade reached its destination, torchlights glowing brightly in the darkness. It was here that the one selected to assume the role of Supreme Commander, a relatively young man by name of Meroveu Thuza, would deliver a customary speech for the deceased leader, one that was as much a statement of intent for the new leadership as it was a dedication to the old.

"Today is a sad and unfortunate day for our nation, as the Gods have claimed our great leader. His policies have brought us back from the brink of destruction. Our reign extends now extends from the ice-bound lands of our ancestral homes, across the seas to Rusina, Archon, and beyond. Our military is one that ought to be feared, respected, obeyed! However, it is not. It is evident that other nations of Rusin look down upon us, scorn us even as they fight their tiresome wars. I vow to uphold our duty to continue along the path that past leaders have set us down upon, to achieve our rightful destiny, to bring order where there is chaos, and to make the rest of Rusin bow before us even as the world burns around them. Upon the speech's conclusion, the coffin of the old leader - now raised onto a large pedestal - was set ablaze, the larger fire now dominating the scene as the moon reached its highest point in the night sky, met with a chorus of chants from the assembled crowds of citizenry and military, even as the military band joined in with a tune of its own. In the immediate wake of the new leader's ascension, the central government has pledged that the Synhedri - Noctia's primary legislative body prior to the ascension of the Supreme Leadership - will return. Only time will tell as to whether the Supreme Leadership retains its role in civilian government, or reverts back to a purely military role. Long live the Supreme Leader!

Kazakus 'The Prophet' Sollix, leader of the Voodoo cult known simply as the 'Cabal' has escaped custody this morning after being tried and sentenced to death for his crimes. Kazakus has been found guilty of over a dozen murders, sexual assaults, breaking and entering, theft of illegal magical artifacts, and acts of terror. When asked for a statement, Kazakus reportedly cursed all present to "The Void Eternal" as well as claiming to "dedicate these souls to the Worm-In-Waiting" in addition to various expletives in Troll-Speak. After being Sentenced by the state of Aurum to Death by Acid, Kazakus was loaded up into a Maximum security transport where he would be taken on a secret route to where his sentence would be carried out. While en-route, the transport was struck with a blast of magical energy and a firefight broke out between Kazakus' Cabal Cultists and the Anti-Magic Spellbreaker Officers on the transport. While the Officers fought bravely, the cultists regrettably overpowered them and managed to release Kazakus and flee before reinforcements could arrive. Spellbreaker Commander Zoljin Voyambi has issued an emotional statement, stated that 'This Traitor to the Troll people will not get away with the blood that was spilled in the name of false gods'. Zoljin was also quoted saying 'He will pay for this if it's the last thing I do'.

Naturally there has been some debate on this highly controversial incident, With Zoljin being made the first Troll to be entrusted with commanding the Spellbreaker task force. Some have claimed that Zoljin might have conspired to release the Cult Leader and is secretly a cultist himself, however Zoljin has been tested and interrogated multiple times prior to his promotion, and again today after the incident occurred by Goblin Inquisitors and they assure the people that Zoljin is an incredibly loyal Citizen of Aurum.

Citizens are asked to report any and all information they might have about Kazakus or the Cabal to either the Spellbreaker Task force, T.R.O.L.L., or O.R.K. Authorities. As of now, There is a bounty on Kazakus for One Million Megabucks (Or Equivalent of Megabucks) as well as any Cabal Cultists (Five Hundred Thousand Megabucks per confirmed Cultist) for any Bounty Hunters or Mercenaries interested.

Large Explosion at Asgarthian Warehouse

A large explosion has been reported near the western coast of Asgareth, at 2200 hours yesterday evening.

Whilst the cause of the explosion is not yet known, early reports indicate that an oil tanker exploded in a large warehouse, containing the highly explosive Adrani whiskey. Why there would be an oil tanker inside a large warehouse that just so happened to contain Adrani whiskey, is a question that will continue to puzzle the public, and may well feed into conspiracy theories about what the warehouse actually contained.

A considerable number of Imperial agents were on the scene within 10 minutes, as well as a significant number of praetorian guardsmen from Rome, creating more questions. Malicious rumours have already begun to emerge, suggesting that the warehouse was being used to conduct inhumane, but legal experimentation on Asgarthians and Romans. The source of these rumours is unverified, but are believed to have come from Iryllia.

There has been a twelve mile blockade placed around the city of Parto, as authorities attempt to unearth what happened. Residents are advised to remain in their buildings, or face immediate arrest. The blockade is expected to remain in place for an entire week, as more agents are drafted in from across the two nations.

At 0300 hours, Chief Special Agent Kenzyul Tasnoni of the Imperial Service provided a brief press conference on what occurred in the warehouse. The full briefing can be found below:

I am aware that there have been a number of bizarre rumours that have begun to circulate with regards to what happened here tonight. I would like to take this opportunity to reassure the public, and members of the press, that there has been no alien invasion, and we are also certain that the Myraxians haven’t accidentally launched another missile at us. The investigation is ongoing, and we are unable, at this time to reveal what caused the explosion, and why people believe they saw a purple light emulating from the building. We feel it is important to remind the public that the Red Griffin had just called for last orders, and so it is probable that these sights were the result of one too many.

At this point, I will not be taking questions from the press. Tomorrow, our investigation will continue and we ask that the public and the press allow the investigating parties to get on with their work. Some have already begun to question why Roman officers are located within the vicinity, but I am not currently in a position to reveal, as a result of the serious threat such a reveal poses to our national security.

Already, known enemies of the state are perpetuating rumours suggesting inhumane crimes have taken place. I imagine it does not need saying, but please allow me to stress that Asgareth does not condone the illegal experimentation of Asgarthian citizens. These rumours are malicious in nature, and must be ignored and sourced.

It is important to stress that no Asgarthian citizen was killed or injured in the blast. There has been talk of remains being found, but this is a clear lie perpetuated by foreign media. All known workers are accounted for, and we wish them a speedy recovery from tonight traumatic events.

Once again, I wish to stress that there is nothing suspicious about this explosion, and we implore the public to ignore any and all conspiracy theories.

It was reported that this morning at 0200 hours the Multi Spatial shielding failed expositing it to harmful solar radiation killing all twenty five Roman and Asgarthian crewmen and probably some slaves as well. I'm here with A.R.S.E. spokesman Praetorian Prefect Flavius Marius Otho. Prefect, what is the official position on the accident?

Otho: Well what we had here was a classic example of technical failure. The shuttle got far too close to the sun and overloaded its shielding, once it went offline there was no hope of the crew surviving. Their names will of course be engraved on the A.R.S.E wall of heroes which, as of this morning, is now four walls and a small extension.

Galenus: Brave heroes all. But Prefect; what was a shuttle doing so close to the sun in the first place?

Otho: The Patiemur was gathering scientific information about possible medical and scientific uses of certain types of solar radiation the sun emits.

Galenus: but how do you respond to the claims that the shuttle was attempting to install a refractor capable of directing intensive solar radiation at entire cities, say in Illyria?

Otho: Those rumours are just that i'm afraid. They should be dismissed as vile enemy propaganda attempting to undermine the good reputation of A.R.S.E. and our glorious Imperator. Hail Caesar!

When GMR inquired as to this recent increase the CEO hurriedly assured us that it was nothing untoward and to please stop asking as he ‘literally had a gun to his head’.

In other news the Imperial Palace has reported to the senate that the Legio XXIV Tarrus has completed its campaign against the dastardly Fututi tribes, that lurk on the borders of our beloved Imperium. Lupus: Now secretary what can you tell us about the campaign?

Silus: Well the Senate received intelligence that the border tribes were amassing and arming themselves for war. So we had no choice but to send in 500’000 highly armed and trained soldiers to subdue them.

Lupus: How were they arming themselves?

Silus: Reconnaissance drones showed they had been stockpiling and sharpening various fruits and even some vegetables in what was clearly an aggressive move.

Cornelia: Oh how horrible! What will we do with them?

Silus: well the fruit pygmies are far too underdeveloped to make good slaves and too uncivilised to make good subjects. So we came to the conclusion they had to be exterminated so their land could be used properly.

Commissariat of Overseas Affairs Opens Up Colonization Efforts in Eristys

Newly-appointed Commissar of Overseas Affairs Cerulareu Attaliate has announced the official beginning of colonial operations in Eristys, the first new policy of the Meroveu leadership.

The Commissariat has specifically chosen a choice area of the island in the far north, sparsely populated and in closer proximity to the Realm's other holdings in Sintuvel, as the launchpad for further operations in Eristys, the area's coastline providing many areas more than suitable for the construction of harbours and cities. An initial settlement wave has already been planned, expecting to draw in thousands from all across the Realm: approximately 200,000 from Noctia, 150,000 from Archon, 20,000 from Tol Bandir, and 35,000 from Sintuvel. The Colonial Affairs Commissar had the following to say regarding the new government initiative:

"The conquest of Eristys has long been a dream of the Noctish state ever since our intrepid explorers first discovered the island continent in the name of our Realm over 700 years ago. Since then, the island has held few stable political entities, suffering through a brief period of Gulchian colonization. Since we first found the island, it has represented the western edge of the Noctish world, one that now stretches east to the shores of Iryllia and south to the lands of the Acadians. It will be of the topmost priority for this Commissariat...of this government...to fulfill our ancient dream, and secure Noctia's control over the entire island of Eristys."

It is expected that the presence of abandoned equipment and infrastructure from the colonization attempts of other empires will be of modest utility to our intrepid settlers, although naturally they will be discarded once superior Noctish equipment makes its way to the colony.

In addition, the Commissariat has announced that the Territory of Koraesia will be merged into the Archon Dominion, which itself is to be renamed into the Dominion of Archonacadia. Tol Bandir, on the other hand, will remain primarily governed by the military, on account of its disputed status with the North Covenant. Long disunited and fought over, the Commissariat has made small overtures that it is willing to come to some sort of arrangement over the future of the disputed island.

Acadien Agricultural Aid Plan Expanded

Claude Champlain, Nouvel Acadie's Commissioner of Agriculture, reported today that the Royaume considered the new Agricultural Aid program on Archon to be "an unparalleled success" in extending security, economic development, and social progress to the communities involved.

"Our intention has always been to assist the agricultural communities of the former nation of Vermandois to re-establish supply chains and to operate their businesses free from fear of attack by anarchist elements in the western parts of the former nation. We are pleased to report that not only has the Acadien military established successful border security, they have successfully restored several critical rail links that were sabotaged during the internal strife that wracked the cities of Poits and Brouge.

In light of the successful operation and the broad support of the people, we are announcing today that the Royaume will extend this protective zone along the southern coast of Archon as far as the western reaches of the offshore Duchy of Saulteaux. This action will not only increase security for the former Vermans, it will also secure the waters between Archon and offshore holdings of the Royaume."

The "Vermandois Agricultural Aid Program" ("PAAV") represents a new approach in the Royaume, which is currently organized into Royal Duchies, independent Free Cities, and several Autonomous Regions. Under PAAV, the former lands of Vermandois are being grouped into massive, privately-held Plantations, with owners taking responsibility for the housing, health, and education of the employees living and working on their lands. The Royaume is providing security and infrastructure, and has appointed temporary regional overseers. The first such overseer is Alexandre-Nevsy de Vermandois, a descendant of perhaps the most famous family to lead Vermandois when it existed as a Tsardom. It is expected that this Plantation System will be extended along Archon's south coast in the areas to be added to the PAAV Program.

The area is rich in specialty crops such as almonds, figs, dates, avocados, coconuts, and pecans.

Champlain ended his remarks today by repeating the governments assertion that this is primarily a humanitarian effort to protect local farmers and farm workers, rather than a military conquest.

BREAKING NEWS

Spontaneous celebrations erupted throughout Nouvel Acadie today as news of two historic events spread throughout the Royaume.

This morning in Gaspé, the Royal Palace announced that a recently concluded treaty between Nouvel Acadie and Iryllia has resulted in the transfer of the city of Pointe d’Est back to the Royaume.

Under the First Royaume, Pointe d’Est was the largest city in Nouvel Acadie. The city has seen it’s share of tragedy, dating back to the War of Cold Sand, but has proved resilient. It came under Iryllian administration in the wake of the collapse of the First Royaume. The Royal Palace today announced today that Acadien Commandant General Rémy Chausseur is en route to the city as part of the celebrations. As a young soldier, Chausseur strenuously argued against the removal of Prajuhli residents from Pointe d’Est, and is seen as a hero by many residents of the bustling port city. The transfer will accelerate the completion of the Cross-Archon Railroad, which will carry goods and passengers from as far as the Duchy of Vermandois to what will again become the crossroads of the Royaume.

In addition to Pointe d’Est, the islands of L’Aubespine and Tourville will once again be reunited with the Duchy of Saulteaux, easing transportation and commercial barriers for the island-bound residents.



Finally, the treaty also calls for the transfer for transfer of Isle Montpensier in the polar region of Meridia.




Concurrent with the transfer of Iryllian territory, voters in Covenetian territory in Archon voted overwhelmingly to sever their association with North Covenant, and to initiate reunification with Nouvel Acadie. Anticipating the vote, officials in North Covenant and Nouvel Acadie have been working for several months behind the scenes to effectuate a smooth transfer of territorial control, which includes Archon mainland Acadia, part of Marshall Island (formerly known as Tol Brandir), the Prajuhli Islands (formerly Charbonneau), and an outpost in Scow Creek (Covenetian Saulteaux).

The unification of the Acadien Royaume signals a moment when families, long divided by political events, will be reunited as well. A spokesman for the Royal Palace indicated that al local officials and governmental offices will remain fully operational and in place, pending a review of “organizational efficiencies that might be realized from further integration.”

Historic Treaty Announced Between Aurum & North Covenant

Following close on the heels of Acadia's withdrawal from the global commonwealth, it was announced today that a treaty between Aurum and North Covenant had been worked out. The treaty, designed to end the frigid relations between the two nations is the result of several years of negotiations. The landmark diplomatic maneuvers pose many political as well as logistical issues.

What's in the Treaty?

The treaty covers various aspects of the relationship between the two nations, but by far the most prominent feature of the treaty is the land exchange. Both nations have agreed to cede territories to the other party. These territories include the long sought after Southwestern Epilian Peninsula in exchange for Saint Lucas and Saint James Islands. The possessions of these territories have long been seen as barriers to peaceful relations between the nations. The treaty covers the expenses to facilitate any and all nationals who wish to continue to reside in the Covenant as well as a guarantee of citizenship for those wishing to stay.

Relocation

Of particular importance is the relocation of Covenetian Citizens who currently inhabit the islands. Nearly 1 million Covenetians and another 1.5 Million Indigenous people inhabit the islands, moving such a large group of people is tricky and time-consuming. Many will be leaving a spacious and sparsely inhabited island for the far more densely populated mainland cities. Many locals feel betrayed by the government for forcing them to move or submit to another government. By the numbers 90% of the Covenentians and roughly 55% of the native population will be departing the islands most likely to settle in and around Restin as well as the southern peninsula.

Elections in Pointe d'Est Choose Otto Van Tuyl as Mayor

Otto Van Tuyl, owner of the largest commercial wharf in Pointe d'Est, has now been elected its first Mayor. Van Tuyl cruised to an easy victory with 70% of the vote in a four-way race.

Van Tuyl is a well-known figure in Acadien political and business circles. A native of the Duchy of Anskar, Van Tuyl built the largest merchant shipping fleet in the Royaume. He is perhaps most well-known for his negotiations in Iron Harbour, which resulted in the establishment of Acadien control in parts of Meridia. Having profited from shipping ore from Meridia for processing, Van Tuyl purchased the commercial wharf in Pointe d'Est and is credited with effectively managing competing shipping interests from a variety of nations in the Royaume's largest deep water port. Van Tuyl (pictured left) will serve as Mayor of the City, and represent it on the Royal Council.


In a lesser-watched election, the City will send its first 10 representatives to the National Assembly. The City, which chooses members at-large based on Proportional vote, will send 3 Conservatives, 4 Libertarians, and 3 Progressives. Total votes cast in the national Assembly were significantly less than those cast for Mayor, validating a common assumption that residents are more concerned with local government than national government.

Strategic Oversight Council denounces Roman attack

The second East-Rusinan conflict - already being called by some outside observers 'Red Rain' - was spread across the Charter two days ago when the Imperium of Romae launch a pre-emptive strike on Nouvel Acadie, dragging the continent of Archon into the conflict. Whilst this decision made sound tactical sense, it was handled in a way unbecoming of a nation of the Charter - and indeed, was launched without a declaration of war. This has, in itself, led to an Acadien attack on the Myraxian Archon territories. Marshal Rychtan Kerenol, Commander for External Security, issued the following statement on the matter:

The Roman strike on Nouvel Acadie was performed without regard to Myraxian security in the region, and without the endorsement of this Union. We condemn this behaviour - even in war, there should be honour at all times; this action has none. It was never the intention to, at this time, bring the current conflict to Archon - the Roman decision threatens not only Myraxia (and the other states of the Extended Security Zone), but calls into question the security of the Valarisk colonies at the Iron Harbour, or even, looking further afield, the Myraxian Northern Epilo Protectorate or the Bandoan Recombined States. I ask of the Romans to comport themselves in a manner befitting a nation of the Charter in all future endeavours.

Furthermore our illustrious Imperator would care to point out to the Myraxians that the Imperium is not a member of their ‘ESZ’ nor do we recognize their supposed hegemony. If their government wishes to discuss the war with us we would kindly ask they contact us directly rather than publicly complaining that we struck their enemy, but he reminds them we are Asgarthian allies first and foremost.

To address another complaint, the Prince Trajan assures us that he did send a warning to the Gauls but that it was delayed. Most likely due to Gallic incompetence. He promises a full inquiry...time permitting of course.

As Imperial Secretary I can guarantee that no other nation in the Charter has any cause to fear strikes from Roman forces. Provided of course they are not on the verge of full alliance with our enemies. At that point you become our enemy and will be treated as such. On a personal note I would urge the nations of the Charter to avoid any rash actions. This war has entered a delicate almost radioactive phace and my lord Caesar is not the forgiving type…

“Roman In Competentium!”

The title fades out and the fade in reveals a very satirical depiction of a Roman, being a tiny dumpy man wearing the old leather Cuirass and skirt as well as a helmet with an obvious broom’s head mounted on it improperly.

The Roman is looking at a map that somehow dictates all of the Charter under Rome’s rule, with the names for the other nations being replaced with “I own dis” “that’s mine too” and “Hands off!” He smiles and sighs, seemingly content before doing a double take as it zooms in on Nouvel Acadie, scribbled beside the nation’s name is the word “Gollz!!!”

Angered, the Roman takes up his wooden sword and rushes out the door, quickly approaching a large man with a curly mustache and beret, holding a daisy in his hands delicately and standing next to an Acadien Flag.

The Roman Strikes! Taking a weak swing at the large man’s backside who quickly becomes unamused, gently tucking the flower away in his suit pocket before pulling out a large wooden mallet and whacking that Roman on the top of his helmet, driving it and his head inbetween his shoulders cartoonishly.

The Roman retreats and another large man approaches, wearing a Myraxian uniform. He takes a moment to tell off the Roman who, despite his head still being stuck, proceeds to mock the larger man.

The Myraxian grows angrier and pulls out a set of brass knuckles, as the scene fades out.

The fade in reveals the Roman’s helmet, with his eyes, feet, and hands the only things sticking out of it as he attempts to grab his wooden sword. This time he is stopped by a stereotypical depiction of every nation in the Charter, the curly mustaches Frenchmen, the Angry Myraxian General, a Valari dressed as royalty with her nose held up high and a glass of wine in her hands, and a goblin standing atop a bag of money, all brandishing a bludgeon Weapon menacingly and surrounding the Roman.

The Roman appears to shout at one, a drunken Asgarethian, who looks incredibly nervous before grabbing a bottle of ale and walking away whistling nonchalantly and pretending not to hear or even know the Roman.

Queen Announces New Duchies, Appoints Royal Council Members, in Former Vermandois

Queen Marie-Collette announced today that the former nation of Vermandois, most of which has been under Acadien protection since the collapse of the Vermandoisien government, will be incorporated into the Kingdom effectively immediately.

"We welcome our former neighbors as full members of the Royaume, and grant citizenship, and representation in our government, to all," the Queen assured residents in Brouge.

After the fall of Vermandois, the Acadien military moved in swiftly to defend agricultural interests against terror attacks by the Akataeb, which had plagued the nation during the last few decades. The successful arrangement generated a growing interest among landowners to enjoy full rights as Acadiens, and the Queen's actions today are an answer to that desire.

"We will recognize three Duchies from the former nation," the Queen stated. "The Duchy of Brouge on the west coast of Baie Vermandois, the Duchy of Vermandois on the Poitier Peninsula, and a new Duchy of Alendyre, constituted from the homesteading populations in the Vermandoisien region of that name. In order to secure that Duchy, Nouvel Acadie is annexing some adjacent interior territories. We do not expect any serious opposition."

The initial Royal Council Members representing the duchies shall be Alexandre-Nevsky de Brouge, a desendent of the original ruling family of the Tsardom of Vermandois; Adèle de Vermandois, a close associate of Béatrice de Sauteaux and financier of the effort to crush the Akataeb; and Yves d'Alendyre, a well-respected agricultural producer from the grasslands region of the west.

Asgareth commends Roman bombing of Nouvel Acadie

General de’Lance has come out and made a surprise statement in response to the recent bombing of Point d'Est and the city of Gaspè. He commended the Romans in his speech, stating:

”As you are aware, our friends, and close allies, Romae, recently carried out a series of well-coordinated and globally applauded airstrikes against the tyrants known as the Acadiens. Their attack on the pitiful city of Gaspè, has made it into a tourist hotspot, yet the Acadiens refuse to thank the Romans for their actions. Instead, they talk of invading the kind Romans. Naturally, we cannot allow this to occur. Our most recent expansion now provides a small border with Nouvel Acadie, so as to ensure they abandon their foolish endeavour.

The Romans bombed Nouvel Acadie out of the kindness of their hearts. It is indisputable that Nouvel Acadie looks far nicer now that those dreadful buildings have been destroyed. It must also be realised these Acadiens are the aggressors. Rome bombing them was a gift, and these Acadiens rebuked it.

We Asgarthians are proud of the actions of the kind Romans, and we stand behind them, both diplomatically and on the battlefield. The Romans acted out of love and respect for our great nation, and we must carry ourselves in the same way. Already, discussions are well underway to increase Asgarthian military presence in both Point d'vur and our new island territory. Governments in Former Covenetian Acadia Appointed; National Assembly to Relocate

The Royal Palace released today its formal declaration as to the administration of the territories in northern Archon that were recently transferred to Acadien control.

In a statement signed by Queen Marie-Collette, the Queen declared “We have great reason to celebrate today. With the accession of these lands, the Acadien flag will once again fly over much of the territory the Royaume established when first created. The fact that more than 70% of the residents expressed their desire to choose Nouvel Acadie over any other nation in the Charter is a testament to the success, culture, and freedom that the Royaume enjoys.”

The region has been divided into three new Duchies:

The western third of the region, which also includes recently re-acquired territory extending to Greyhaven and Tol Brandir, has been designated the Duchy of Terrebonne. This diverse region is home to Oceani immigrants, Euskara and Basileans from the former empire of the Green Basilisk, the descendants of FAS-Yolki War refugees from Mercôté and Ahalmaz, and the indigienous people of Tol Brandir, as well as resident Acadiens. It will be lead by renowned fashion designer and icon Lynice Afesi, herself the descendants of slaves rescued from Ahalmaz. Anonymous sources have suggested that Afesi's engagement to André-Deion de Valenciennes, the Queen's step-son and heir to the Acadien thrown, is imminent.

The central part of the region has been designated the new Duchy of Laffitte, named after the famous leaders of the Corsairs “who have served the Royaume faithfully and admirably throughout our history,” said the Queen. Jean-Pierre de Laffitte, son of the current Admiral of the Corsairs, will lead the Duchy on the Royal Council. Sources close to this new service suggest that Jean-Pierre will provide a contrary voice on most Royal Palace matters.

The eastern third is being re-established as the Duchy of Lorraine, which had ceased to exist after the collapse of the First Royaume. The original capital of Gaspé is included, and has been rechristened, “Vieux-Gaspé” to avoid confusion with the current Royal City. It will house the elected National Assembly and other offices once again. According to the Palace, the expansion of the Royaume has necessitated the re-location of some government services, and, according to sources, no location was more suitable than the ancient capital. The Queen and the Royal Council, however, will remain in Gaspé proper. The new Duchess is Gabrielle de Lorraine, the grand-niece of the disgraced former Duke, Édouard. The Duchess has promised to restore the good name of the House of Lorraine, which was tarnished when Édouard engaged in a rogue ethnic cleansing at the city docks at Sables-Rosée. For many, this event signaled the beginning of the decline of the First Royaume.

Cincia: Prince Gaius Octavius Trajan Filius Caesaris is to be named its first governor and had been awarded Proconsular Imperium. As our noble prince is currently defending the eastern seas he has dispatched his most able lieutenants to administrate the newly transplanted citizens and continue the eradication of the natives. Who have been deemed quote ‘too Gallic to live’.

Nocto-Acadian Accords Signed

Following days of negotiations between Noctish and Acadien authorities in the port city of Sondergard on Tol Bandir, the two nations have come to an accord over the fate of the divided island. After decades of division, the island of Tol Bandir is to be united under the jurisdiction of the Acadian Kingdom, as our authorities have agreed to end our occupation of the eastern half of the island. The accords also set out the future of Nocto-Acadian relations, as the Acadian Kingdom has agreed to numerous economic and diplomatic concessions in exchange for the island, namely internal autonomy for the island, guarantees of the rights and freedoms of Noctish citizens that wish to remain in Acadia, and a permanent outpost in the city of Labourde for the purposes of diplomatic and economic relations. Both powers have also agreed to allow each other safe harbour rights for all ships in all ports, whether such ships are military, commercial, or otherwise.

It is expected for evacuation procedures for all Noctish military personnel on the island to begin by the end of the week, and for sovereignty over the islands to be transferred to Nouvel-Acadie upon completion of that process. A select few of these personnel will be relocated to the Realm's other holdings in Archon, while most will return to the Mainland. The half-million Noctish civilians on the island will be allowed to either remain on the island, to move back to the Realm, or to move elsewhere in Acadia should they chose to remain in that Kingdom.

Certain elements in the Synhedriu have praised the accords, primarily those in favour of divestment from the Realm's colonial holdings. "Our occupation of Tol Bandir was always meant to be temporary." one representative stated, "It is much better for us to see the island unified under those more capable of governing it as a whole, cohesive unit, rather than continue to see the island artificially divided." Chancellor Aurele Celreos, the primary negotiator of the accords, has been praised by the Synhedriu for securing the Noctish Realm a new friend and potential ally through the signing of this treaty.

After years of turmoil and international intrigue, the Duchy of Orléans on the northern coast of Archon has been restored.

Isabelle d’Orléans, the shipping magnate who was brought in by the Royaume to administer the original Duchy after the Great Quake and the fall of the Empire of the Green Basilisk, returned today to take up her office once more in the Manor House in the city of Labourde. Crowds lined the streets between the port and the Manor, waving Acadien and Oceani flags and cheering the Duchess’s return.

Isabelle returns to a Duchy that has seen an influx of English-speaking Oceani immigrants, who arrived during the Oceani occupation of the area. When the First Royaume crumbled, Isabelle arranged, through her long-time friend Harris Vmon, Prime Minister of Oceanion, for the Oceani forces to secure and administer the area. The plan went awry when Oceani Prefect Guy Dufort sought to set up a rogue state, and orchestrated the political downfall of Vmon.

It did not escape anyone’s notice that when Isabelle emerged from the limo that carried her to Labourde, she did so on the arm of Harris Vmon. It is widely rumored that their marriage is imminent.

In what one observer described as ‘exquisite political theater,’ Guy Dufort was arraigned at almost the same time in the Labourde courthouse on eleven felony counts, including treason, theft, extortion, and embezzlement.

With the freeing up of resources formerly dedicated to the maintenance of Noctish personnel on the island of Tol Bandir, now under the jurisdiction of Nouvel-Acadie following the signing of the Nocto-Acadian Accords, the Commissariat of Overseas Affairs has moved to dedicate the resulting deficit towards Noctish operations in Eristys. Many, personnel and civilian alike, have been moved to the nascent settlements in the region, while the Dominion of North Eristys has laid official claim to large swathes of bordering territory, loosely inhabited by the native tribes of Eristys, along with a few foreign settlements from many of the island's former colonizers. In awe at even the paltry power of our colonial forces, Eristyin and Gulchian alike have been duly submitted into the Eristys Dominion, their lands opened up for settlement and integration into the Noctish Realm as a whole. The government of North Eristys has begun construction of new settlements in prepartion for the influx of migrants and military personnel to the Dominion.

The advance into North Eristys comes mere weeks after the establishment of two new naval bases on islands adjoining both Archon and Eristys. Forces from Samothrakia, the islands far to the east of Eristys, have finally secured control over the so-called "Barrier Islands", an archipelago of three major islands and many dozen small outcroppings between Samothrace and the Archonic mainland. Control over both Samothrace and the Barrier Islands will serve to further secure Noctish control over the west-east shipping lanes from Eastern Archon to Strei-Ar, all in preparation for the Expected War to come. Colonial-Naval forces of Eristys have also been successful in establishing a forward base on one of the many islands around eastern Eristys, which shall be turned into a staunch outpost against any threats from the south.

Cincia: In todays news; Roman forces have managed to restore order to the eastern part of Harren Island. A spokesman for Praefectus Vispanius Agrippa informed GMR that our forces were able to sweep aside the rebel forces and restore their rightful leader before he was murdered by Myraxian agents.

Lupus: We are unfortunately unable to show footage of the attack, as it may contain images found distressful to younger viewers.

Cincia: I thought there were no Asgarthians in this one?

Lupus: No. I suppose it’s a mercy though that the poor Harrenite didn’t have to look at one of their ugly mugs in his final moments.

Cincia: Not that those cowards would have done much…Speaking of mugs, why pay for expensive shelves? When you can pick up an all new harrenite slave at your local market to hold your things! Harrenite slave will also clean, cook and pretty much anything else you tell it to do as long as you hit it hard enough. Harrenite slave, 2 for 1 at crazy maximus slave emporium this week only!

Lupus: Slave food is expensive, and I’ve got a cat to look after. In other news, the Imperium has occupied more land to the extreme west of the Imperium, surrounding the Gallic enclave in preparation for their eviction from out lands and the extermination of their degenerate peoples.

Cincia: The territory has been consolidated into a new province, which has been named Belgica with a new city to be established as its administrative capital, to be called Taruenna. The new governor, Marcus Furius Camillus, has told reporters that he is confident of expelling all foreigners from his province and has been given five legions with which to achieve this.

Cincia: In other news a rather amusing story turns dark, as a visiting Asgarthian hockey team is charged with manslaughter.

Lupus: Apparently the team alone exceeded the weight limit of an ice rink designed for 200 people, causing the ice to crack and the players to fall about like “overstuffed rag dolls”. Unfortunately, a passing Skoldurian guardsman saw the whole debacle, and according to witnesses literally “laughed himself to death.”

Swyndol appears on screen, standing at a podium and in front of the flag of Aurum.

“Loyal Citizens of Aurum. It is my duty to inform you all that we have once again been threatened. It would seem that the formerly chaotic and lawless territories of the commonwealth have re-organized and reestablish themselves. As you may know, the colonial territory of Gadgetzan occupies what was once territory that belonged to the former commonwealth. Our northern neighbors, the Acadians, also occupy territory that belonged to the commonwealth. Due to the lack of any true government or laws, The territories that once made up the Commonwealth have been thrown into a state of constant chaos and anarchy. Because the Commonwealth was too busy picking up the pieces to begin resembling any form of government or organization their claims to the territory were null and void. Thus our claims and the clams of the Acadians our legal. Any and all lands that were once the commonwealths are now ours. Yet the Commonwealth claims that their former territories are still theirs and that we are the invaders.”

The Trade-King leans forward some with a smile.

“The Acadians, who the commonwealth have had an otherwise prosperous history with, were given more peaceful options to either be deported or to change their citizenship.”

Swyndol’s smile fades.

“‘And what do they offer us?’ You might ask. Ours is a simple choice: Either fuck off or die.”

Swyndol grins again.

“One city that we occupy in our territory is the city of Roe. A city they claim we stole from them, a city that they claim we cut off and trapped their brothers and sisters who could not escape. A city they now want back.”

His grin widens.

“Let me be very clear. We did not steal this city. We found it. We saved it. We made it prosper. When we found it it was in a state of constant Anarchy. We brought order to it. And now, like whining children who abandoned their toys and are upset that we picked them up, they are now threatening us to leave the city, as well as large swaths of territory around it, or they will attack.”

The goblin leans closer towards the camera and gains a proud and predatory grin.

“So here is my counter offer to the Commonwealth: if you are done pretending to be children, then we are happy to talk as proper and civilized adults. All we ask is that you leave OUR territories and leave OUR city. Any and all military action against us is to be given a cease and desist order. Once this is done, we can meet and discuss. But if so much as one bullet is fired by a commonwealth soldier or if this counter offer is refused, then we will take. And take. And take.”

The Grin remained as Swyndol stood straight once more.

“If it’s war and violence that you want, we are more than happy to oblige. And I promise you, you will know a wicked beast from Aurum.”

A series of events, including the chaotic disruption of Skjoldur, the provocative settlement by Rome, and now, the resurgence of militarized factions operating under the cover of the name of Cervidas & Ibex, have threatened to undo the progress.

The Royaume demands that these rebels immediately end their illegitimate blockade of Grand-Île, and completely withdraw from Auruumite territory.
