Dahon wrote:Kiako slightly raised an eyebrow at the mention of "Chinamen", even as she thought the Baroness likely meant no malice in using the old pejorative -- insular south Asia, after all, had seen a rise in anti-Chinese (and recently anti-United States) sentiment during the last decade, the fact of which the kami had spent time in trying to combat its uglier manifestations publicly and otherwise, especially with an ethnic Chinese serving as kon to the Yakumokami.

Still, she thought it proper to dispel that misleading notion -- though, not yet. "Trying to describe what I do will take a while, so let's say I'm one of my country's three reigning monarchs, and at present the youngest and most voluptuous."

She leaned back into her chair, the better to display her assets and so gauge her reaction. "As you can see for yourself."

“Then you’d be triarch, not monarch. Monarch is mono-rule of one, triarch would be rule of three. Sorry, detail is muy importante. Thought it was a nice little fact. Her eyes dotted a bit, looking down at the table.

"Please relay him my gratitude and tell him, that I would love to speak with him later, over a glass of wine.", he asked of the Handmaiden with a smile, before he examined the Spanakopita for the best was to eat it. It looked a lot like a work of art...

Cleone looked to Mahmut for a quick moment, raising his glass “Va bene, vecchio. Salut.” he cheered before turning back to his conversation partner

...he would not begin, though, before their host was not eating, as it was polite.
Karim and Fara were silently speaking a short grace to thank the Gods, Dschamilla joining them soon.
It was true, Fara liked Aceus, in a different way then she liked Karim, in the way, that may or may not end in front of an altar, but she needed to know, if he liked her back... and if he would be up to get into a stable relationship with her. With how much he had going on, with the duties, that bound her, she knew, how Fadia's Falcon felt.
If they both could just have five minutes for each other, just to exchange a few words...
Someone came to her side, an older lady in a wheelchair, escorted by a number of bodyguards, which made Fara wonder, who that was, as she didn't seem to be bound to a wheelchair for a long time - or it was only temporary. The Kyrenaian Princess would not pry, that would be very impolite.
She bowed her head politely. "Good evening, Ma'am.", she spoke with a small smile, "If I may ask, who do I have the pleasure of sharing the table with?"

"Nana!" Aceus exclaimed walking down the table and properly kissing the elderly woman on both cheeks. "I thought you said you couldn't make it?" "Well, I am getting old, so I may have forgotten that little detail." she chuckled, "Besides, you should've mentioned this fine lady was attending! Trying to go gallivanting off with some charming girl without my knowing again?" This earned a chuckle from them both. "Gentlemen and Ladies, my dear old Nana, Godmother-" "and Grandmother, my boy certainly gave me a handfull." "..and Grandma. She always has a seat at the table." "Now now, Ace, you go ahead and be a good host. I've been around long enough to know how to take care of m'self." With that, Aceus returned to the head of the table, and continued speaking with both the Emperor and Grand Vizier on the nature of the MTO. The group began eating the Spanakopita with a fork and knife. She smiled at Fara "I've been hearing many wonderful things about Kyrenaia...I would like to know how many things are true. Such as the Caracal, how is the lil' guy?"

The four Kyrenaians watched the exchange bemused, although Fara was a bit surprised - this was Aceus' grandmother and she didn't recognize her!
But apparently, that was not held against her. She had a small blush tinging her cheeks, when she was called a 'fine lady', a 'charming girl' - flattery usually did not work well with her, but somehow, their compliments had a charme about them, that made them irresistable. Especially Aceus'.
"Kalak?", Fara asked with a wide smile, "Oh, he's well. Enjoying his days prowling for Desert Mice and his nights snuggled to me. Mind you, he actually shouldn't be in the bed, but if you have kitty eyes as cute as his, you can not resist..." She smiled. "Although, he is a bit larger then many people realize. One metre tall, roundabout."

The elderly woman smirked. "Just like Sparthy, rest his slobber soul, that giant furball could charm anyone like a puppy, despite him being about twice the size of that carcal!" she chuckled in reminiscence. "It's certainly overdue that you visited our home, a shame that it was on official business." she smiled at the group. "Ever since Aceus and Prince Okan met, he's been wracking his brain to get him, you, and young Fadia over to his place to see some of the sights and performances. Is..." her voice then suddenly took on a more worried tone. "Is the good Prince still in health?"

"Great-aunt." Edgar smirked. "We've already greeted her, remember that little plan of ours to set up Aceus with Fara." Sabin nodded. "She's probably going to assess the young lady. You know how parents can be..." so far, the two were getting along well, the guards stoically standing away from the table, butler and maid weaving around the standing figures with professional ease.

Sabin merely cringed, and Edgar leaned in "Is that a challenge, dear sir?" he asked, a silken tone belying competative intent. "It's merely a formality!" Sabin reassured "You wouldn't want your son or daughter to run off to Valar knows where!"

“You know what? You two go on ahead. Fara is taken, right? That leaves Dschamilla single. Why don’t you both try your luck? I’m fine right here.” Cleone challenged the two.

Beef Brisket with Peppercorn Sauce, Well-Done Steak, and with Corn on the side? His favorite! How did they know? It was like this was all known beforehand or something. He shoved the thought out of his head. Mundane thoughts mattered little at this moment in time. He simply had to do as planned, and enjoy himself. He eagerly shook hands with Aceus, smiling genuinely warmly, and followed him. When he introduced his family, he was pleased, and took a seat.
Alekos sat down also.

"What a fine family you have. You must be very proud. As for the organization, things are coming along well. I myself am very pleased at our rate of progress. In Lotharia, things are relatively well, and the mood is very hopeful. Our Deputy Foreign Minister however, was recently assassinated, and thus we are wary at the time being. How are things in this very fine nation?

"Danceria is looking forward to being an example of a revitalized tradition of Monarchy in the wider world, with an international academy for students from around the world! My magnum opus..." Aceus embellished. "Aristocrat and common folk, working together, studying together, it will prevent the class divide that the Marxists oh-so-relish in embellishing."

The Emperor chuckled, very excited at this prospect, and his eyes lit up brightly.
"Shall we operate a combined system like that that in your school, does your approach, in ours, our approach? I find such an opportunity exciting. Virtue, Benevolence, Talent, Willpower, Flexibility, Compassion, and Pragmatism determine a good Monarch, as well as a good Minister."

"I would prefer Palumpolum. Our Academy shall be located in the heart of our Empre, Berlin." Julius replies. "Tell me, Lord Aceus, do you believe in Revolution?" He says coolly, eyes twinkling and holding his wine glass, spinning it in a circle in his right hand, with his left hand composed under his chin. "For we are the harbingers of A Royal Revolution. We must never forget that: We fight for Liberty and Benevolence, not Tyranny."

Aceus responded with a chuckle. "Your Majesty has not read on Dancerian history. It is always a coup or revolution against a tyrant or invading force. House Elurion came to prestige driving back the Byzantines, then deposing the inept and inbred Telcontars. Once more, Danceria is a revolutionary, thankfully no blood has been shed in open war for almost half a century..." he offered his own wine glass to toast with the Emperor's. "To a new kind of revolution, to keeping our history while making it ourselves. Perhaps that shall be the name of this academy, as soon as I find an appropriate synonym for that."

"Indeed. Today marks a turning point in history, when the Empire Struck Back, with the Return of the Benevolent Monarch. We shall ensure the Revenge of the Marxist never comes to pass. Today is the start of a New Hope. Now, shall we do official duties, and rally our alliance?" He says, smiling warmly.

Alekos looked proudly at his Uncle, then looked down and continued eating quietly.
Hopefully something would happen soon...

"For now, enjoy the festivities, the weather, and culture." He looked upon the feast, the worries of rulership seemed so far away now... "It's...he would have been proud." he teared up slightly, before wiping it away, and regaining his composure. "Let's just enjoy what time we have left, the actual discussion can occur when we are to tired to dance. If either you or your companion." he nodded at Alekos "Are interested in dancing."

Queen Janice Spencer steps out of her car, flanked by two bodyguards, carrying pistols in their holsters in black suits. At the age of 23, she had inherited the throne young, at the age of 19, due to her father dieing of cancer. However, while her father had done much of the uniting of Semparia, she had done the reformation of Semparia into a single unified state that was fit to be a proper international power. She had long black hair, going over and behind her shoulders, and a strong build. A keen eye would notice the outline of a .338 revolver in her jacket. She looked around, observing the outside of the palace as she walked in

He singled out the Dahonian, Lux, and Knesskniet Delegations, yet not knowing who they were yet, simply singling out people who's attire caught his interest, and motioned for them to come over. He was ok inviting anyone to the table, besides, Alekos needed some company he thought, as he looked somewhat eager for socialization.

As she entered the room, she glanced around attempting to find her seat, she wasn’t the most well rehearses in international events like this, since most of her time was spent dealing with laws, regulations, and the military. But as she was glancing around trying to find her seat, she was also keenly observing and noting down the various guests

Her eyes darted around the table, looking for and quickly finding its mark, in the person of Sofia Honorious, whom she had almost neglected since the Lotharian king's arrival, and who was now preoccupied with the sumptuous meal before her.

Hopefully, she calculated, they'd be so drawn into the conversation that I can leave them be and attend to more... promising matters.

"Ah, yes, ma'am! I hope you're not so preoccupied as to join us?" Kiako haltingly inquired.

Cleone heard a call and looked up, apparently this Emperor Julius person wanted to meet him so he stood up. "Want to go with me blanquita?"

Lourdes excused herself from Kiako's conversation "I am sorry. I will be back." [/quote]

Lady Sofia turned to Kiako and Lourdes and smiled. "Of course not Kiako!" she exclaimed before turning and introducing herself to Lourdes. The Baroness only had time to introduce her before she departed with her king. "I guess this Emperor must be very important" observed the Consul's wife. "This food is delicious, isn't it?" she said, moving on to another topic.

“You know what? You two go on ahead. Fara is taken, right? That leaves Dschamilla single. Why don’t you both try your luck? I’m fine right here.” Cleone challenged the two.

Danceria wrote:The elderly woman smirked.

Dschamilla was indeed listed as a single by most yellow press papers, but she had an eye on a man...
It didn't matter, as said man was here in the company of another woman and she doubted, that he would give up his throne for her, for she would not give Fenchu's throne up. Her brothers... one was occupied with his police-work, the other was a helplessly romantic fool. One with a heart of gold, but still a fool.
So, she joined the Grand Vizier in listening to the conversation of the Emperor and the King, staying silent and observing - it was clear, that the Dancerian King wanted to better the relations with Lotharia and its Emperor, this international academy being one of the points to work on. It was an interesting idea to make an international academy and something inside of herself wondered, if the Madrasa in Ruspina could be transformed.
Something to talk about with her mother when she returned.
Other then that, the young man at the Emperor's side, Aleksos, caught her eyes. She gave him a small smile.

A bit down, Fara was loving the conversation she had with Aceus' Grandmother.
She nodded. "Okan lives and enjoys life. He has taken up teaching a young Prince in how to be a better man, together with said Prince's Uncle.", she replied, leaning over a bit to whisper to the Grandmother, "Amongst the two of us, I also believe, that he likes said Prince's Handmaiden very much. I would certainly approve of her, if she makes him happy, but I believe, that she doesn't see him that way." She sighed, a bit melodramatically. "Mahmut, that's the Prince, tries to ship the two of them for a while now..."
She went back.
"It's wonderful to hear, that he thought so much about Okan and Fadia and me. To be honest, Okan is planning something similar, showing him the Artworks of the Palace of the Azure Hall or of the Palace of the Ruby Hall in Megido, attending theater and concerts together. He's really looking forward to meeting Aceus again one day.", Fara continued and smiled. "And he read all of his literature recommendations. He's very smitten with Dancerian Literature."

Alekos watched his uncle-no, his father now-with great enjoyment, as he was always refined as well as entertaining to watch speak. He smiled back at the fine lady that had noticed him, but lacked the decisiveness to pursue the gesture further or ignore it and continue doing what he was doing, so sat there in limbo, slightly awkwardly, but not very noticeably.

He might have thought of him as not very noticeable, but Dschamilla had nothiced him.
"Good evening.", she greeted politely... and then stopped. Usually, she would soar like a social butterfly, but in this case, the indecisiveness robbed her own decisiveness, her own momentum. She could ask one of the fifteen billion stupid questions people asked at parties, like if the other one liked the party or some stupid things like that, but she decided to ask the, from a Kyrenaian perspective, most stupid one: "Do you want to have a dance later? To my knowledge, there will be a chance to, later."
She could have slapped herself.

’I don’t need suggestions stronzo’ he thought to himself. “Well Imperator, obviously I’ve come to join to the local bums in begging for coin on the streets.” he gave an unamused look but then a polite smile appeared “No, the truth is we’ve come here to meet fellow, colleagues, if I could call everyone here as such.”

“Ehh, non so. Il paese intero é gran. Io non potro rendirle giustizia.” she replied “And it’s not ragazza, it’s Signora. The other would be too improprio.” she corrected him on the last bit. She whispered into Cleone’s ear, he nodded with a chuckle.

"I should certainly hope so! He is a rather bookish young boy, even though he is a man I should say now." Nana would smile, "You must give Karim Rashid my regards especially, I'm certain that he would be giddy over his work being translated to Sindarin! ...Albeit for a younger audience, but that is some significant headway amidst our more traditionalist snobs. They still express their subject manner well." she lingered on a pause awkwardly, as if to note that Fara was the subject of such platitudes. "But tell me, m'dear..." she leaned in with a more serious tone. "Why'd ya come to this here party?" it was an oddly straightforward question, but held with it a weight far less innocent than initially projected, though followed up by "I imagine a woman as lovely as yourself would be the topic of many a ballroom, so why grace the Hall of the White Tree with your presence?"

He smiles warmly.

"Voi sta bene. It was honest mistake of non-speakers" she gave a small nod.

Cleone gave him a questioning look "I'm sorry, candidate for what? I'm fine for a walk."

Eternal Lotharia wrote:"Possible member, associate, Strategic Partner, Economic Partner, et cetera." He replies smoothly. He moves away from the table and begins walking with them. He is quiet for a moment. "So," He says, breaking the brief silence. "I am very interested in your country. I can tell it has a rich history. Can you humor me and tell me about it?" He says, eyes sparkling.

"Hold on a sec." he said turning to Lourdes "Want to walk or stay with the others?"

She looked around and thought for a second "I'll just stay with you. I don't know anyone here, and they're all, not us."

Cleone gave a sigh "Fine, come along then." she held onto his forearm as they got back to the emperor "So what would you like to know? I can give you a quick rundown of it. What can I say except that we're a small and simple country on the Mediterranean. It has a very rough history but we all manage. A nice fascist state under a monarch with God at it's center, what better can a country be? Sure there's infighting and a bit of favoritism among us but what country doesn't. You can't be entirely unified if your culture is split." he shrugged a bit "You have the French, Italiano, Hispanics and Germanics all together in a mixed pot, and that can cause problems. The Germanics not so much, they're a little reclusive. The important thinf is that everyone recognizes the nation first, and themselves second." Cleone tried to explain his best and fired a question in return "So, what is Lotharia like?"

Semparia wrote:Queen Janice Spencer steps out of her car, flanked by two bodyguards, carrying pistols in their holsters in black suits. At the age of 23, she had inherited the throne young, at the age of 19, due to her father dying of cancer.

Aquilina warmly greeted the newly arrived Queen and introduced herself. "Aquilina of Saarkrisken, at your service" she began. "I like your hair, it is very beautiful. Unlike my hair, which I could never wear so long, I have so much trouble with it." As she talked, she gestured to her brown hair that was done up, no doubt professionally. The Saarkriskian had heard of the Semparian Queen, as she had read about her in a magazine article about successful women rulers. Aquilina was impressed with the story about how at such a young age, Queen Janice had accomplished so much. However she did not mention this, being both too proud and too shy to do so.
