Bio: Once, in the ages passed, there was a time when the horrors walked the same plane we did. There was a time when the roiling chaos of impossibility and insanity was a reality. Dark cults were all but ubiquitous, and blood soaked prayers sought the whims of uncaring and incomprehensible elder things. Nightmares shared our fabric of spacetime with our waking minds. Some even walked the earth we currently live on, and their ancientness is such that no living eye has gave upon their visage during their time on our planet.

But those monsters were banished by some unknown great race. This great race made it their final act, and then died save for a scattered and now mad few who try their upmost to warn of that which once roamed the stars.

The Talsharim were born in a time shortly after this great banishment. The Talsharim sought the power to elevate themselves to a level of enlightnment, so that their people might never suffer again. Nomadic students of both magic and science, the Talsharim were made up of independant great clans. And the ones who united the clans were the great Star Knights. "Those Who Stray Too Close" was their informal title, a reference to their practice of intentional conversion and attempted communication with Far Gods, Animal Spirits and Sorceror Kings of the garden. It was said that all Star Knights were destined to fall to madness, but that the search for enlightenment was worth the risk.

Rohar fell for other reasons. He was excommunicated from the order and cast out to wander. His crime was one of refusal, for he would not take a pupil in the arts of the Garden. He had seen the things that lay beyond, and now is an aimless wanderer who fears the quest he once dedicated himself to. Now he spends time on persuits he would once call meaningless, for a sense of purpose he has long forgotten.
Powers:

• Knight of the Stars: Rohar is a Fallen Star Knight, and is such gains certain abilities and weaponry:
  
  • Blade of Starlight The Blade of Starlight is a weapon capable of cutting through most nonmagical materials.
  • Star Knight Training Rohar is trained in the arts of the Star Knights and in supernatural combat.
  • Hand Blaster Rohar has a plasma blaster.
  • HALO Halo allows Rohar to speak the languages of the planets he goes to and stores information for him.
• Corruption: Rohar has been touched by the corruption of Azan’Zarabothazur an old god of the Garden. Lord Azan is king of subjective time, altering perceptions of time and making those perceptions reality. As such Rohar can tap into the fel energies of the Lord of Broken Hourglasses.
  
  • Time Vampire: Rohar can steal seconds from his opponent. He steals a number of seconds equal to the amount of time he touches his opponent rounded up to the nearest second. This stuns opponents for a number of seconds equal to the stolen seconds, as their personal time attempts to resync the person with normal timestream flow.
  • Leap: Rohar can accelerate or reverse his own personal time using stored stolen seconds. Doing this in essence transports himself a second or two forward into his own personal timeline, allowing him to teleport or heal from harm using his trapped second.
  • Time Stop: Rohar can stop time, however given this is a subjective alteration made manifest, he must make another aware of the change. This other is always his opponent in a fight. So he can effectively stop time for both him and his opponent, allowing them to act out entire fights in the space between nanoseconds.

Limitations (Reasons why your char can’t end the universe):

• He steals a number of seconds equal to the amount of time he touches his opponent rounded up to the nearest second.
• Rohar is limited by the amount of stolen seconds when using his abilities.

Weaknesses (Reasons why someone could kick their ass):

• Subjective Time Stop: See time stop for more info, but the jist of it is he has to stop time for both him and his opponent.
• Glimpsed Nameless Abyss: During times of weakness Rohar can be overcome with illusions and dellusions.
• Paradox: While useful, his ability to alter his own personal time comes at great risk. He can create paradoxes in his own personal timeline. One common example is that if he drops his sword or blaster before transporting himself, he could potentially lose it forever. If he were to turn on a light before rewinding, he would be returned to the time where he was with the light on. Placing himself out of sync with time in the material world has consequences not limited to the practical yet mundane however. Whenever he creates a paradox by creating a situation which affects his personal timeline, he hurts himself very literally. The force of the damage to the fabric of space time effectively ruptures his insides, eventually killing him.
• Physical Contact: In order to steal time, Rohar has to make physical contact.

Bio: He began life as an omnipotent egg in an ovary and and omnipresent sperm cell that happened to fuse together and nine months later he decided to be born and climbed out of his mom's womb. He snapped off his umbilical cord by himself and kept it has a snack. Later he walked away to a tuxedo shop and got a suit for free.

He got straight A's in all of years of schooling and chose to be stay with his peers despite being able to skip ahead. He has a perfect home life and he never had a day he wasn't happy or making others happy.

As a teen he showed up to Harvard and they gave him every degree they had. He became the emotional cornerstone to millions of kids once he got a tv show with most saying he was better than Mister Rogers, Bob Ross, and Steve Irwin combined. Feats he has include having sex with every super model and female celebrity in the world, discovering the cure to cancer and superbugs, discovering perpetual energy, and making dead memes relevant.

Now that he moved to San Diego he took down Orion by convincing them to jump off a cliff into the ocean and has joined the Young Bloods. H made all the male members disappear and has had a heart wrenching, plot turning romance with each and every girl. He hopes to make the world a better place and to get rid of villains once and for all.

The mercenary known as “Diesel” grew up in rural Washington state. Living solely with his father, a mechanical engineer by trade, he learned a great many things about mechanics and engineering from an early age. He seemed to be gifted, in fact, rebuilding his first engine at only 9 years old, something that shocked his father, and leading him to join a local high school’s vocational engineering program his freshman year in high school

At school, he always thought of himself as a step above others, especially given that in this rural community, trades like engineering were considered to be the best jobs available. Diesel was very cocky about his skills, believing that he was inherently better than all his peers. Even his father could hardly keep up with him, his skills only improving with each passing day.

Eventually, at the age of 15, he attempted to design something new, not a vehicle or a tool, but a suit. A powersuit that he could use to prove that he was the best, and make money while doing it. He started with a used 1997 F-350 diesel, and after more than a year of working, and about a whole lot of different parts his creation was complete. Running away at the age of 17, he ran away to California to start making a name for himself as a mercenary for hire, hauling his suit in a box truck he had fixed up. He dropped his real name and took up an appropriate nickname. Diesel.

Powers:

• Mechanical Technopathy: Diesel is incredibly gifted with anything mechanical. His specialty is internal combustion engines and powertrains.

Limitations:

• He only has a real grip on mechanical engineering, and is not nearly as adept with post modern tech.

Weaknesses:

• Steel armor: His suit is made of basic steel, which makes it more susceptible to damage from projectile weapons, especially high caliber armor piercing rounds. It also has minimal climate control, meaning high intensity heat concentrated on the suit will start to cook him.
• Fossil fuel: He’s on a time limit all the time, since his suit only has so much fuel it can use.
• Short temper: He has severe anger issues, and is quick to get mad and sloppy, especially if his pride has been hurt.

Gear:
“Seven-Three” Turbo Diesel Power Armor: The suit is driven by a twincharged 7.3 liter Powerstoke diesel engine. The engine is mounted on the back of the armor, with a single torque converter driving from the crankshaft to allow the motor to run a range of power bands from a single gear. In the low rev range a twin screw 2.5 liter supercharger runs off a air conditioned cold intake to fill in while the singe 110 millimeter turbo spools. Once the turbo reaches optimal boost, a belt clutch releases to supercharger for maximum fuel to power efficiency by eliminating supercharger drain. The engines modified camshafts with increased lobe size allow to motor to run at a maximum of 5000 rpm, with peak horsepower occurring at 4700 rpm, and max torque occurring at 2800 rpm. A 50 gallon fuel tank is stored under the engine on the back of the suit.

From the torque converter, a single driveshaft runs midway down the back to a three point differential, with a driveshaft running to each shoulder and one to the waist area. From the shoulders each driveshaft runs a series of hydraulic pistons operating the arms and legs of the suit. This basically gives his limbs the lifting strength of a large tractor bucket or excavator, and bolsters physical strength to superhuman levels.

Along with this he has several weapons at his disposal. He can typically hold one with each hand. First is a large steel rod, coated in tungsten with a ceramic handle. The rod is connected at the hilt to a modified welding rig, meaning if it comes in contact with another metallic conductor it will create a 3300°C electrical arc, hot enough to instantly boil steel. Also at his disposal is a homemade 30 millimeter cannon, firing a large iron ball from a pipe pressurized from an air compressor which can be hooked up to his suit. And finally, attached to both arms he has modified plasma torches used effectively like high intensity flamethrowers. Other than those two, there are several other weapons he’s working on, but those are still in design stages.

As for armor capabilities, the suit has two layers of steel, the exterior layer and interior. A series of hydraulic shock absorbers extend from points inside the suit, through small holes in the interior layer and connect to the exterior. This dampens various impacts against the suit for greater user survivability. The interior layer acts as a block for the shocks, so if a critical strike on the armor occurs the shocks will not penetrate the suit and harm the user.

Bio: Catarina was born in Mitú, Colombia. Her parents were not known to her. They died at an age too early for her to remember thanks to them being assassinated on the orders of Pablo Escobar. She only survived thanks to her quick thinking grandmother who ran with her into the jungles and died after she tried to go home and was bitten by a poisonous snake. Only Catarina was left alive.

The grandmother did well though to choose who would take care of her. Her grandmother was a Salaranican tribe woman. And she gave her only granddaughter to her tribe. It was good. But when news of her death came to the tribe, they mourned her as they named Catarina in their own way: They called her Sobreviviente. It meant survivor in Spanish as the tribe was more Hispanized than the rest of the indigenous people.

Despite that, they were constantly on the move. They took Catarina with them and as she grew, she was taken care of by many of the women and older girls. She learned quickly and became a good dancer in the tribe when they settled down. She even learned how to fish, how to hunt and how to pray to the sky. But that only came true for her when she was taught the magic of her people; the magic of life and death, of healing and killing But all that changed when the Colombian conflict reached them.

When she was just 16, she witnessed the FARC attacking her tribe. She and they fled as fast as they could but the FARC hunted them down because the tribe constantly helped the military find their way through the jungles. Only when Catarina cried out to the sky did she get her powers.

Almost immediately, there were reports that a creature of light and dark appeared before Catarina and the FARC and the tribe. All were frozen as Catarina was told that she would have the powers to save herself and her tribe. But only at the price of being cursed. Of being forced to leave her tribe lest they suffer. She accepted. Then the creature vanished.

Her eyes turned crimson. Her fingers started to bleed. And she faced the incoming FARC raiders and did what she had to do. Her people said that she, a 16 year old girl, out of rage and sadness and desire to protect, she caused bones to come out of her body and blood to emerge from her against the FARC. They saw men being impaled to trees, women being forced into boiling pools of blood and any child soldier that dared to serve the FARC being torn into pieces by her hands turned into claws of bone and blood.

It ended quickly and with tears in her eyes, she fled from her tribe, even though they begged her to come back, that they didn’t care about the curse. She just could not bring herself to cause what the creature had told him to come true against them.

After a while, she calmed down and gave in to tears. But after that, she picked herself up and started to explore her powers more. The more time she spent, the more abilities she discovered and the more she realized her imagination could change things as she used them. But as she did so, she was captured by surviving FARC troops. They then took her away.

When she was in their hands, she attempted many times to escape. Most of them failed as she was only a child. She was also too afraid to use her powers. The only time she succeeded came when they tried to have their way with her. It ended badly for both. Catarina suffered severe wounds to her reproductive system while almost everyone in the FARC camp was slaughtered. When the Colombian military came to check it out, they saw very few bodies. In reality, she had eaten most of them or allowed her blood to wash them away.

Later on, the creature visited her and told her that he would only let her curse affect her while her tribe would be safe. He told her that she could see them again. She rejoiced and she went away from him as he vanished. When she returned, her tribe had actually stayed, waiting for her. They rejoiced too and they gave her a day long celebration. And when it ended, they made her their chieftess and their goddess.

They called her Dama de Huesos. The Lady of Bones.

When she was 18, her tribe once again was disturbed. This time by a Christian militia from her home city as well as by the AUC and Bacrims. At once, the Lady of Bones acted for herself and her people. She first targeted the Christian militia, coming to them after Mass one night and burning their church down before hunting down their armed members and murdering them. Then she went after the AUC, going alone against several groups earning a nickname from them - El espíritu de las junglas (The Spirit of the Jungles) as well as Cazador de huesos (Bone Hunter) - and then the Bacrims when the AUC stopped bothering her tribe on her terms.

Not all of this went without notice from the Colombian government who approached her. It was President Juan Manuel Santos himself who had a meeting with her and several indigenous leaders (who went by her side because she protected them too) in the city of Mitú. There, she secured an agreement that would save her people and her allies: The Treaty of Friendship Between The Indigenous Peoples and the Republic of Colombia.

A great victory for a small chieftess like her.

After that, she chose to give away her position over her people to her step-sister as she wanted to go elsewhere, to go where she was told to go (The creature told her in a dream to go to a city named after Saint James (San Diego).


Powers:

• [Blood Magic]: - Thanks to the crystal choosing her and to her own magical abilities, she could use her own blood in any way she wanted to and could even use the blood of others so long as she has focus, time and the actual ability and will to do so.
• [Bone Magic]: - Taught by her tribe, she could use her own bones to protect herself and to fight others. She is feared for this more than her abilities over blood.

Limitations:

• She has been sterilized and cannot reproduce anymore.
• She is limited by two things: She can only use blood and bones. Nothing more, nothing less.

Weaknesses:

• [Body]: She can only use her blood and bones to a certain degree. She cannot use too much blood or she bleeds out. She also can't use her spinal cord without bad things happening to her.
• [Cursed]: She is vulnerable to holy abilities because she is cursed.

While this is a nicely written app, Sal, there's some issues I've got to point out. First of all, as I've already mentioned to you, magic is a learned skill, different from superpowers. Thus, it is not something that a crystal can grant. I think it would work better if you simply got rid of the crystal altogether and said that Catarina's magical power increased because the "creature" (whatever it is) chose her.

Beyond that, the overspecialization weakness isn't so much a weakness as it is a limitation, and it also looks like merely a restating of one of her limitations anyways. I think it's fine if you just keep her weakness to the holy. I'd also heavily recommend adding a limitation regarding the amount of bone and the volume of blood she can use, since I doubt she can just survive bleeding out to attack an enemy, or use her own spine to clobber them without negative consequences.
