Are there NPC tribes? As in, i don't think the entire region i would start on is completely empty.

Likely yes and no, yes more tribes, but human? From what G has explained there are likely very few "human tribes" left, save for the several that are shown here as player tribes. If I recall correctly, G had mentioned something about mutated humans, but I know far to little about them to make any real discussion about who they are and if they are friendly.

As for NPCs tribes, not in the same way as the tribes we currently see. A few hunter-gatherer bands, but nobody has encountered any of them yet.

Like do I have to research in order to find a religion beyond necro-shamanism or would that just he consider fluff to show the advancement of my culture?
