Current Government
The government of 10000 Islands is manifested in the Council of Nine. The Council acts as the legislative and judicial branches of government. Their duties include (but are not limited to) proposing and passing laws, approving embassies, and discussing punishment against transgressors. Ministers are appointed by the Chief Executive, while the Delegate and Senators are elected.

TITO Command
TITO Command leads our defender military, the Ten Thousand Islands Treaty Organization. As one of the oldest defender militaries still active today, they have defended and liberated countless regions from the hands of raiders.

A Grand-ish Opening

Hi everyone! Welcome to the grand-ish opening of the XKI Embassy!

I was hoping to inaugurate this thread with an inaugural region update respectively, but internal difficulties have made that impossible. Nonetheless, I'm overjoyed to finally bring this thread into the light. I wanted this thread to act as way for Islanders and other nations from around the world to interact with each other, as well as provide a way to promote XKI events and updates. It took some time but after much debating within the Council, the act to open this thread was finally passed.

This nation and thread are both run by our Foreign Affairs Department, namely the Delegate and/or Foreign Affairs Secretary. As elections for Delegate (and two Senators) have opened up, my term as Delegate draws to a close. This is my final major idea that I was able to put in place and even though it's not much to look at right now, I hope to see it grow in the years to come. I have faith that my successors will put this thread to good use and bring a spotlight to XKI.

The first major regional update should be posted here at the beginning of October, once elections have been concluded and September's report has been written and checked by the new BCN Senator and Delegate. Until then, there may be smaller updates here and there, or none at all. Such a thing remains to be seen, but no matter what happens, I'm just glad this thread is finally up.

I hope friends throughout the community and the Islanders of 10000 Islands make good use of this thread in the months and years to come.

Our default is midnight blue now (though I think these blues look better for onsite stuff)

Anything is better than the classic dark blue look from back in the day. That ruined Proboard's reputation on NS for years. You know how hard it is to recruit for your region when the only reply you get from people is "yikes... proboards...."

I can still kinda see the dark blue look on the current default skin. It doesn't want to make me claw my eyes out, though, and with some work it could look quite modern.

Also, welcome to the Gameplay forum, XKI. We've had a seat waiting for you over there for about 200 of your years.

Grub is probably rolling in his grave over this decision, which makes it an even better one.

Good on XKI to continue casting off all the shackles and ridiculously backwards/antiquated restrictions that Grub maintained. Maybe in 3-4 years, you lot will actually start switching regularly and even join some chases.

This is actually something that came up in XKI's March 2018 Delegate debate, with winner and current delegate holder Alkasia arguing for a NSGP thread and Louisistan, TITO Knight and Not-Delegate, passionately arguing against. In fact, one of the reasons Lou used to argue against amused me so much, I think I'll share it here:

This is honestly more true than ever. When I saw this thread I wondered to myself why XKI would finally want to have a thread here now, of all times.

That said, welcome, and I hope maybe we'll see XKI make a meaningful contribution to gameplay since it's one of the few regions that still knows how.

When I first joined NS I went through all the recruitment telegrams. I got down to two: XKI and a raider region. I clicked on XKI's forums and then decided to move into the other region. I would probably be a fenda if it wasn't for that theme

I don't say this often but I agree with...Cormac. NSGP is like 80% to 95% toxic. Personally I think XKI could bring that down a few if they play their cards right.
