PSYCH EVALUATION: Lance Corporal Ohno is a seasoned and focused soldier who while skilled in his field, may overestimate what he can handle, which in certain situations lead to hazardous situations. Ohno displays creativity in the field, and openness to suggestions and teamwork. The Lance Corporal puts much faith in his team as he recognizes that he can get tunnel visioned while doing his job. Ohno like many possess a strong will to live, and easily maintains the esprit de corps demanded by the ODSTs.
BIOGRAPHY: Born in Shimaraha General Hospital, Algolis on January 17th, 2525 Kaito was born into a Japanese family of four. Both parents were engineers working for the military, and often spent much time away from their home in Shimaraha. As such they were predominantly raised by their aunt Itsumi. Kaito was the younger brother, and often spent his free time exploring the city with his older brother and cousin. His cousin Yumie acting almost like an older sister to the two. Their uncle was a marine serving far away, a constant reminder of the war that grew closer to home everyday. Despite being at the home even less than his actual father, Kaito looked up to the man he'd only seen on a holo-screen as a father figure and aspired to be like him.
While his older brother Fujio joined the civilian work force after school, Kaito bought into the Section II propaganda, and into his own childhood dream. The young, fresh faced youth right out of school enlisted, unaware of how bad the war truly was, and what hid behind his idol's hollow smile. Kaito's regiment was brought up to replace the casualties sustained at Miridem. Soon Kaito found his reality of what the war was really like, his first engagement was Sargossa, where the Spectre was first encountered. Next was Skopje as part of the material recovery effort, but his third battle would hit him personally, as the Covenant would find, and engage Algolis. The 81st Marines were deployed to destroy prototypes and sensitive materials while the other regiments handled the civilian evacuation. While his home was scarred by nuclear hellfire, it wasn't completely destroyed by Covenant glassing. All essential materials and items of importance had been destroyed or evacuated in time before the Covenant could glass the planet. With the human population extracted with only moderate casualties, the Covenant moved on to their next target instead of glassing the planet. While his aunt, cousin, and brother made it off planet safely, his parents were not so lucky. Covenant forces having shot down their evacuation shuttle shortly after leaving the hangar. While his parents never spent a great amount of time with him or his brother he was still distraught at the loss.
Thanks to his years of unwavering service to the Corps, Kaito was able to try out for the ODST. While the Spartans usually got the glory he hadn't signed up to be one, he signed up to be a normal human marine. After all it was normal humans like him holding majority of the line. Kaito found it funny in an odd way of how he'd lose one physical home and gain a new one with the ODST. There he served for the better part of three years with the 22nd before being folded into another ODST unit during Reach, where they were eventually pulled back to the UNSC Pillar of Autumn.
