45th BRITONISH ELECTION COMING UP THIS MONDAY - HERE IS HOW THE NATION IS COPING...

By Damien Matthews

In Britonisea, the 45th General Election is due to happen on Monday 28th May 2018, and it's expected that out of the 44,427,000 people who can vote, it is expected that there will be a turnout rate of 75%, this is set to be Britonisea's largest General Election ever.

The fate of 57 million will depend on the 44 million people who are able to vote as people will head to the polls, this Monday, to vote for whoever will win the 45th General Election. People who are 17 or older will be able to vote this year, and it is expected to be a head-to-head race between the Britonish Labour Party, who is now headed by newcomer to politics, Toby Adreon and the Britonish Nationalists & Patriots Party leader, Phaedra Sampson - and for the first time since the General Election of 1976, the Britonish Nationalists are looking set to being in power.

According to recent figures, it seems like the Britonish Nationalists are looking to perform very well in all of the seats that are not focused in the cities, which are Labour strongholds. Some suggest that this might be because outer city locations are not receiving enough support as those inner city council's, and therefore resent the Labour Party for that, and so are just voting for the Britonish Nationalists. Its likely that the Britonish Nationalists, however, will pick up some seats in those inner city councils too. It is expected that Labour will lose a lot to the Nationalists, especially since the Brito Era is now ever, with the abdication of the Leader of the Labour Party, which came into effect after the dissolution of the government earlier in the month.

"The Britonish Nationalists and Patriots aren't like the nationalistic parties in other countries," states University of St King's Bay: Western Campus alumni of Britonish Politics, Joshua Keynes. "The Britonish Nationalists are like a Labour party, almost, but rejects the idea of sending lots of aid to foreign countries, buying food from abroad when we could grow and make them in Britonisea - aiding our own economy, and also support a more closed border. Interestingly, the Britonish Nationalists aren't associated with ethnicity, as many Nationalist parties usually are. Due to the highly diverse nation we live in, the Nationalists really do mirror this in their party."

"One thing is certain," continues Joshua Keynes, "The Britonish Nationalists and Patriots Party are amongst the most xenophobic of all the parties, and out of those who are in the running to be in power, the Nationalists are most definitely the most xenophobic." Joshua then explains what he means and what this means for other countries, "Small things such as permanent withdrawal from the World Cup will be seen under the Patriots rule, to larger things such as direct control of Aloquirbe could happen if the Nationalists win on Tuesday. Countries that might be affected will probably be those coming from wartorn or poorer nations. It would be harder for them to get to Britonisea. Regional partners, such as Mercedini, Kalmarlund and Togonistan? Its unclear what the Nationalists think about them, but they are needed a lot. I'm not sure how they would be affected."

"The truth of the matter is, people are getting bored of the Labour Party, who are doing absolutely nothing. I don't think the Britonish Nationalists and Patriots is the rise of the right wing mindset in Britonisea, but them winning on Tuesday can certainly get people to think that way."

Recent polls suggest - a hung parliament.

Labour - 201
Patriots and Nationalists - 189
Liberal Democrats - 42
Conservative - 16
Green - 1
Other - 2

In this scenario, the Labour Party will most likely look to the Liberal Democrats.

BREAKING NEWS: EXIT POLLS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION 2018

By Damien Matthews

Below you can find the exit polls of The General Elections. The exit polls were determined by BVC, BITC and TBE, analysing the results of a portion of voters to see what result we can expect tomorrow evening. You can find the results of these intensive polls below;

Image

If these results are accurate, Britonisea will be heading for a hung parliament which has not been witnessed for decades. However, instead of this parliament being with the incumbent labour party, the Patriots & Nationalists are expected to surge in voters, coming in to power for the first time since the Lukas Brito decade. This might suggest that the labour party's pull over the past decades it help power was because of the pull of the Brito family. The Liberal Democrats and Conservatives are expected to get closer to each other as Mr Cohen is expected to rake in some more votes; the Green party is expected to increase in seats (one seat would be a victory) and other parties might also gain a seat.

We don't exactly know what Ms Sampson would do if this situation is true, but it will be an exciting week for Britonish politics.

Coming up next on Lucky 7, it's Celebrity Glam with your hosts Ashley Ladera and Cerys Young

*Studio audience cheering as the camera closes up on the hosts*

Ashley: ''Good evening, you're watching everyone's favorite show Celebrity Glam, where we go through all the topics no other media channel dares to speak of!''
Cerys: ''Where is Tremendous? The all-time most successful Togonistani rapper seems to have completely gone off the map!''
Ashley: ''What happened to Britonish megastar Mehkl Maddox Ajax backstage during his latest concert tour in Tushlark? An anonymous source is going to open the cards!''
Cerys: ''And, is it true that metal band Thunder Brigade is on the verge of a breakup?''
Ashley: ''We will get to all that eventually, however, to get things rolling, we begin tonight's show with a real bomber! Is it true that President Duke has a new love interest? Celebrity Glam...'''
Ashley & Cerys: ''Begins!''

*15-second long show intro being played, after which we are taken back to the studio*

Ashley: ''Let's jump right into it. President Regin Duke, the chap you all are used to see on TV during national holidays and such seems to have become active on the social media lately.''
Cerys: ''Indeed, and his latest post on a popular image sharing platform Imgpot has revealed something very interesting.''
Ashley: ''A selfie taken by Duke backstage before a concert shows himself posing with no one else than... Alayna Alofi!''
Cerys: ''The 38-year old singer is seen posing on the picture, and look, just LOOK where her hand is.''

*The picture is being displayed on a big screen right behind the hosts*

Ashley: ''It has taken it's place right on Duke's shoulder.''
Cerys: ''This kind of body language can mean only one thing! These two are no strangers to each other.''
Ashley: ''Which can be even further confirmed by the fact that these two were seen sitting together during the concert.''
Cerys: ''Not just sitting, some say they were even enjoying themselves.''
Ashley: ''Let's just hope they didn't feel too comfortable, heh?''
Cerys: ''So, what you think? Is there a spark lighting up between Mr. Duke and Ms. Alofi?''
Ashley: ''A spark? No! They're on fire! An absolute, burning flame of desire!''
Cerys: ''To be honest, it has been over a year since Duke's break-up with his ex-husband.''
Ashley: ''Yes, Duke is on a hunt. Hungry for lust.''
Cerys: ''And so is Alofi. I mean, just look, look at this flirty smile while posing. Look at these sparks in her eyes.''
Ashley: ''They certainly are up to something, and if things go further, Alofi might soon very well be our new first lady.''

Cerys: ''Well, if you, dear viewers have any thoughts on the subject, be sure to let us know through social media.''
Ashley: ''We'll be going on a quick break, and we will be back right after these message from our sponsors. Stay tuned!''

Togonistan High Council bans ridesharing apps.

Image

We all know how important transportation is these days. Bigger cities, longer distances and the need to get everywhere on time. Almost a year has passed since these peer-to-peer ridesharing apps entered Togonistani market and started boasting their popularity. However, looks like now it is time for them to leave.

No less than 30 minutes ago, Togonistani High Council voted on the legal status of these ridesharing apps, and the result was pretty straightforward. With 92 parliament members in favor, 6 against and 3 absent, High Council voted in favor of deeming ridesharing apps illegal. ''Operation of such networks have been an issue for a long time. Not only do Uber drivers provide an unfair competition to legitimate taxi companies, they also lack any qualification to get their earning in the first place. Also, since anyone can register as a driver for these networks, there is no way to ensure that the driver has a clean background. Even murderers, psychopaths and child molesters can drive for these networks and, why not even use them to find potential victims,'' council member Mario Suega commented on the decision.

According to Togonistani laws, one is required to have a specific government-approved license in order to work as a taxi driver. ''These guys have no background checks, nothing. We had one guy working with us not long ago who got sacked and his taxi driver license stripped for reckless driving. Two weeks later, I saw him driving around with a Uber sticker attached to his car. I really hope we won't see people like this throwing dirt on a taxi driver's profession anymore,'' said Artur Tereiti, a taxi driver from Tushlark.

With new legislation passed, one can be charged from 300 TGA up to 1 year in prison for operating as a driver within driver networks not owning a license.

TV Ratings

Postby Britonisea » Tue Jul 17, 2018 12:14 pm

TVRatings.ru

Update on TV rankings from the last couple of days

July 15 2018

In what seemed like a very mundane Sunday evening on Britonish television, The News on BVC at 6pm was the most watched of the evening. Over 7 million watched The News as the final signature came through by Mr Cohen - officially making him the Vice Prime Minster of Britonisea. This means that the Conservatives are in power for the first time since 1948, but the Labour Party are working hard to get back their votes in time for the 2022 elections.

There was a spike in those watching Dispatches this Sunday, where they went in to the less pleasing parts of Telm City, the city that is due to host the WorldVision Song Contest. Over 4.5 million watched people speaking about their honest opinion about £15 million being spent on WorldVision and not on the improvement of their own lives. BITC responded to BVC's prime-time show by calling BVC "hypocrites" after bidding seven times before, and only winning the 3 of those seven bids.

July 16 2018

Over on BITC, the coverage of the Independents Cup - with the match between Northwest Kalactin and Britonisea - averaged 2.9 million, peaking at 4 million as Britonisea lost their final match. In a total contrast to the previous Independents Cup, Britonisea has finished bottom of their table and won't be qualifying to the knock-out stages of the competition. The TV ratings have responded to this, dropping by millions since the last cup and by 2 million from the Britonish match with Mercedini. The Britonish National Team will be returning home to prepare for the World Cup, where they hope to try and get into the Top 200.

Topping the rankings on July 16 was the dramas, with BVC's Road to the Bridge averaging around 6.2 million which is an increase of 0.6 million from the week before. The episode, the penultimate in the series, saw the main character, Eddie, finding out about where his wife had been hiding over the last few years she was assumed to be missing. The exciting episode saw many hailing the actor from Loueske, George Norrington for his acting.

YOUR GUIDE TO THE HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES

By Damien Matthews

I wrote an article 26th of July last year...

July 27: Brito Day

• Official Bank Holiday

July 27 is an official bank holiday, regardless of what day it is on. This year, the 27th is on a Friday, leading to a whole weekend of festivities as Britons have three days off in a row, something that was last happened in 2015 on a Monday and 2012 when the 27th was on a Friday. Things are expected to be much bigger and better than the years before.

• 12 AM Fireworks Celebration

As each of the cities reach the 27th of July, they will be having multiple firework celebrations in their largest parks, trying to get as many people to go and watch their 20 minute celebrations. If we use the largest cities as an example, Doportedas and Telm City, in what would be like a fairground setting; their largest parks would be temporarily home to a magnitude of events, such as The Circus, sports events such as aquatics and tennis, fair rides, food and drinks and musical performances. These events would start at around 1pm in the afternoon on the 26th of July, with the fair rides, food and drink etc being open for children. It is a highly safe space for those above 16 after hours as each of these parks are heavily monitored by police, it’s cornered off and you need to pay to enter (but the price is never usually high, it’s more of a confirmation you’re attending rather than them trying to make money off you – just wait until you want a drink of juice). Moreover, in Telm City and Doportedas, their large events are smoke-free and alcohol-free. Before entering, you have to discard any alcohol before entering the park and if you’re suspected to be over the limit for taking alcohol, you will not be allowed in the park, and will not be refunded. The events will last the afternoon all the way until 11:45pm on the 26th, when it’s suggested everyone makes way for the countdown. After the 20 minutes display, the park is open until 1AM before people are expected to go home. On the 27th to the 29th, the park and all events start at 10 AM and run until 10 PM (but these days, they aren’t pay to enter, rides and food might be more expensive and some of the events are not available anymore). The National concert will be shown on the main stage where music performances happen and will also be broadcast on screens throughout the fair. Both fairs in Telm City and Doportedas (as well as other major Britonish companies) are run by the same government company, hence why the rules are the same in all these cities. The government tries to keep each of the fairs unique to their own city.

• 7 PM National Concert

The National Concert is the largest music concert that takes place in Britonisea. Broadcast on BVC, it is expected to attract up to 60% of the television audience, usually topping the most-viewed yearly. The Music Concert takes place in Britonisea’s National Stadium in Luton, Sports City which holds over 100,000 people. Britonish headline acts perform at the concert, as well as orchestra performances etc all preluding to the national anthem being played at around 11PM by the orchestra. The last of the fireworks (probably in the country) go off and marks the end of Britonisea Day.

July 28

• Multiple city-wide parades

With this being officially the Bank Holiday weekend, there will be patriotic parades happening throughout the cities of Britonisea. Referencing back to Telm City and Doportedas, the cities are expected to have national parades. In Doportedas, this will all happen in the middle of the city, leading to the Doportedas Olympic Park, where more musical performances happen. In Telm City, the parade is expected to happen on the West of the city, out of the way of the WorldVision Song Contest. It is advised to the thousands expected to travel to Telm City to go to the parade during the day to feel to full “essence” of the culture of the country they are visiting. The top 10 most populated cities have said they will be having a parade of some sort.

• WorldVision Song Contest 66 in Telm City

The 66th edition of the WorldVision Song Contest will be taking place in Telm City after 9 editions since Machievelihe. The contest being held in Telm City meant that on top of the regional cohort of Britonisea supports the nation receives during the Bank Holiday celebrations, WorldVision will attract much more. The government has advised tourists to come to Telm City earlier than the 26th of July, but if their plane comes after that date, the best option is to land in one of the Telm City airports that are not in the middle of the city. This way, they can have an easy journey to Bloomsbury if going by car/taxi and not the city transportation service (the underground will be 100% working, 100% air conditioned). The Telm Arena will house 23,000 people during the contest, and Bloomsbury is expected to be full of Britonish fans who didn’t get tickets supporting Kelsey Banques, as well as other nations they like. Bloomsbury will be packed when the contest finishes at 23:30 as Bank Holiday meets WorldVision.

July 29

• The last of the parties

While official (government funded - except for some of the park fair attractions) parties have stopped, some local companies (such as bars and restaurants) or a group of wealthier folk might put up more parties to celebrate the end of the weekend. Many flags will fly on Sunday too.

• Usually family BBQs

Sunday will also probably be a day for people to get the BBQs out. With what will be beautiful weather nationwide, reaching temperatures of 32C in Doportedas, millions of households will host BBQs and it's likely that smaller parks will host community BBQs. Always check google if you're interested in having some good grub!

This weekend is the best weekend of the whole year, when Britons can really enjoy being who they are. There's no other holiday like it. Have a fun 27th July and we will see you back on the 30th July!

The Independent: Our World Hit Escapade

THE INDEPENDENT: BRITONISEA
Our reaction to the World Hit Festival Semi Finals!

By Kate Winslette

For the first time since the 3rd World Hit Festival, the competition introduced the semi final stage. In the host city, Mousiki, two more shows were added on to the original one and the field was cut by half! Here is my account of what happened in Mousiki.

Arriving at the World Hit Festival is always a wonderful thing. So many things happening in the city and everybody seems to be happy...well, kind of. Not this edition. People seemed to be more nervous - more patriotic - than the previous editions due to the introduction of the Semi Final stage. Now for those who weren't watching (and we know that the overnight viewers suggest 2 million watched each Semi Final which is far from the 23 million 100% rate), 29 nations were chucked in to the Semi-Finals while the Izmeduans - with their giddy faces - automatically qualified for the final of the competition due to take place tomorrow. Among Britonisea and Estogium in the Semi Finals were the World Hit dominator Euskirribakondara (7 time winners) alongside Normandy & Picardy (5 time winners). We also had some WorldVision favourites such as Polkopia and Todlichebujoku participating too. Some home favourites such as Mercedini, Darkmania and Togonistan also participated. Let's get really in to it shall we?

The first of the Semi Finals happened three days ago and when I type that to you, I absolutely cannot believe that those many days went past since the whole shebang started. Walking in to the Forum here in Mousiki was amazing. I was part of the 11,000 people jammed in that arena. While I wasn't travelling alone but I still managed to meet some new friends from around the Multiverse. I will come back to that, but let me just tell you who I travelled here with. I am with Jaron and Theo - two amazing journalists I absolutely adore. They both update our Entertainment YouTube Channel- including reactions/live streams of the WHF... so check it out! I also needed a fellow lady to gossip with...so...travelling also with Yvette who in charge of the twitter page! I have known Yvette for over 6 years and the two guys for 4 years so we had built up a great relationship. Entering the arena along with 3 other friends was great. The two guys went to the press centre while the two girls went right in the middle of the action.

Not too long after we entered, the contest then started. People don't seem to like the term "contest", citing that the World Hit Festival is just a festival. I can tell you right now that it feels much more like a contest than just a festival - a journalist from Todlichebujoku vehemently disagreed with me. Anyway, the Opening was a great way to just introduce the nation. To be honest, they didn't need to spend lots of money at this little thing. Not only have we had 6 World Hit Festivals by Izmedu in the past 11 editions and so we are very familiar with Izmedu, but they didn't really expect there to be a Semi Final. If you ask me, a sudden spike in nations from 11 nations to 24 was a cause for concern. The nation, for the sixth time, decided to go for a random draw...which meant that the starting entry was Lochario. Unluckily for them, they didn't qualify...But I am not sure how everyone would've reacted had they qualified anyway. If that wasn't enough, Lochario was followed by three qualifying nations (Kalosia, NATANYA and Estogium). While Kalosia and Estogium qualifying were a given, the audience didn't expect Natanya to win. I was in the audience and I swear some people mistook "Natanya" for "Normandy and Picardy" - if you look far away from the stage's LEDs, Natanya starts to look like Normandy and Picardy anyway. I'll share my reaction on Normandy and Picardy in just a second. When Estogium qualified, RVC were so elated that they issued a statement! The arena went crazy for Estogium, a nation who's World Hit Festival past wasn't something to be much desired. The fact that they qualified must've been uplifting and maybe sparks a change in Estogium's perception of the contest and maybe they'll come back even stronger for the final!

Cleaca, when they performed, made the contest seem as though it was a dream. The song from Llalta, which was...a tad meh (it wasn't bad, the song was just a bit - well not great)...had left the minds of people and we were treated to this goody of an entry. Cleaca had send this guy...TJ...JJ...LT who sang about his lost love in Cosneolta. It really captured the hearts of many people out there and stood out as a favourite when it was performed. The next nation to perform was Fromulya, an entry that was forgotten by many to say the least. Looking back on it, I think that Llalta will come back to the contest stronger because they know how to send in a good entry [WorldVision 65]. Fromulya went past quite quickly before one of tonight's big favourites took to the stage in the form of Normandy and Picardy.

At the end of the night, Normandy and Picardy failed to qualify for the competition when they had a perfectly good song. At the end of the song, people gave this a great round of applause, including all of us from Britonisea (the guys told us they were genuinely please). NNN released an angry statement within minutes of the official results coming through. According to NNN, "other countries send what is ultimately dross and do better." Well, while their song was good, I don't think that any of the qualifying songs were dross. This fit of anger received responses from three different broadcasters, SterGo 100, DaTV and RVC from Estogium all condemning the actions by the "unfit and too unprofessional" broadcaster. By the end of the evening, Ivan Sandic (the current overseer) had sorted the situation out, with NNN paying a fee and NTV taking over the broadcasting rights for the nation. Most of this happened behind the scenes and shouldn't affect the contest in the long run.

There were five non-qualifiers (including Fromulya and N&P) on the stage with the next nations to be Rusmailica, Lactatia - who sent quite a fun entry despite there being a level of vulgarity to it. In what was a beautiful song about a dark topic such a suicide, we thought that Darkmania was a nation who was 100% going to qualify. The Independent team were definitely sadened by the fact that the fellow Novapax nation didn't qualify. Ending the night was Adab and Euskirribakondara, the former who made a good first impression at the last contest. Both of these nations qualifying didn't surprise any of us - especially Euskirribakondara's qualification.

Semi Final one was great. I couldn't wait for the second one two days later, but I was absolutely terrified that Britonisea was going to be apart of it. Two nights later, the team returned to the Forum in Mousiki. Estogium had qualified, it was time for Britonisea to follow.

Similarly to the first Semi Final, the Opening Act was good for a Semi Final. It was good to just have a bit of music to set the scene for what was to be a bloodbath messy Semi Final. There were so many big names in this Semi Final such as Polkopia, Togonistan, Mercedini, Todlichebujoku and ourselves. There were great songs coming from Ethane, Antahbrantahstan and Raffiah too, which made those who are used to winning things quiver in their boots. Petra, the host of the World Hit Festival, didn't have much to say when opening this show. Perhaps she was exhausted at the fact that she was hosting this competition all by herself, not exactly agreeing to doing three shows at first. Either way, she swiftly directed the attention to Skanden, the first nation of the night which made me question the random running order was a great idea.

Skanden's entry was nothing to remember, which made (for me) the first song of the night come from Togonistan. It was absolutely magnificent, this entry. It was full of drama - and that's something we all need from time to time. The song did leave some members of the audience decompiled when they realised that this could be a contender to at least qualify for the Grand Final. Alas, for Togonistan, it wasn't meant to be. We suggest that its all Cleaca's fault! Polkopia followed that entry and well, it's Polkopia....They're going to get a huge round of applause and a standing ovation whatever they send. The song for me was alright, but I was hoping more was to come from the evening - and by golly! - it certainly does get juicier. But not exactly straight after Polkopia. South Batoko's entry was quite interesting...it was...hmm silent. Anyway, after South Batoko was Mercedini. The crowd absolutely went wild for Mercedini, but then again, I was in front of a group of Mercedinians, so the audience's reaction might have been louder than it actually was. When they qualified, 3rd, it was so loud that I didn't really hear the next few qualifiers.

After that was another qualifying entry from Christarnea. The only song, other than Britonisea's, in the Britonish Top 100 was certainly a fan favourite from the Britonish contingent in the Forum. They actually qualified second, which was great for the Britonish fans, but still left them worried for Britonisea's qualification chances. Britonisea's song came straight after Christarnea's, meaning that Britonish fans didn't quieten down for even just a second for the length of two postcards and two songs. Britonisea's entry was very climatic as she was lifted in to the air. She actually flew over where I was standing and thought that it was very dramatic - if not...too dramatic. Regardless, it worked and Britonisea qualified for the final, which meant that they had to chance to keep up their good record.

Three is a magic number, but a cursed one for Todlichebujoku as they couldn't become the fourth qualifier in a row. Todlichebujoku following Axis did seem to unsettle people, as they thought that it would overshadow the nation as it was a fun song. For the nation that had won the World Hit Festival once before, it was sad to see them go with an entry that was pretty good. Then again, most of the entries that evening were pretty good. Todlichebujoku was then followed by another qualifier, which was probably one of the reasons for the nation's demise at the World Hit Festival. Ethane had a very mystical entry which started off really innocently, but soon evolved into something much more. It felt like everyone in the Forum was in one of those dingy (good dingy) night clubs getting high (on having fun).

The rest of the songs performed, such as Antahbrantahstan and Saintrabina (who both qualified), with Artsakhestan, Puerto Candelaria and Raffiah (controversially) not qualifying. It was a shock to see the last two, kind of. But you know what, that's the name of the game and we were so happy when Antahbrantahstan qualified. The interval was of Izmedu's Grand Final performance and you know what? It's pretty good! I wasn't sure about it when the song started, but it was a great ballady-ethnicy song. Izmedu is sure to do well with that entry.

The Semi Finals were fun and we hope that Fabio McAlpine, who will step down as the Britonish Head of Delegation for the World Hit Festival Overseer role in place for Guy Autriche, will focus on making it possible we have a Semi Final every edition of the contest! It makes the contest more complex, but to be honest, this isn't the WorldVision Song Contest with 33 nations in one Grand Final. The Semi Finals means that we will be highly energetic in the Finals without getting tired that there are a bazillion songs left. Also, we're expecting a huge winning total for the final. 30 nations voting on 15 entries? We're in for a fun night!

Britonisea comes second at World Hit Festival again as Izmedu clutches 5th win.

By Damien Matthews

Fabio McAlpine's last World Hit Festival entry gave Britonisea their fourth second place. While Britons and BVC clench their fists but put a brave face on, Mousiki is celebrating witnessing yet another Izmeduan win.

The end to the 40th World Hit Festival is finally here, and we officially know that the winner of the contest is Izmedu - winning their 5th title. In what was a dramatic voting sequence, we saw many nations top the leaderboard temporary before Izmedu created the gap between themselves and Britonisea, who settled for second place for the second time in three editions. Winning with the largest total ever, Zoran Milos received a huge applause from the audience during his reprise.

Catching people's opinions around the newsroom, everybody seemed to be very happy that Axis representing Britonisea placed 2nd place with 45 points - the most amount of points Britonisea has ever received at the contest, but this might have just been down to 30 nations voting for 15 entries. Some members of the newsroom were hoping of a third Britonish win, saying that the entry was one of the best Britonisea had ever sent.

Second place seems like something Britonisea is going to have to get used to. Over on BITC, Britonisea recently came second at the 62nd and 66th WorldVision Song Contest and this seems to have been replicated at the World Hit Festival. BVC has released a short statement after finding out the winner, congratulating Izmedu for their win and wishing them well in the future, but BVC will be hoping to keep up the level of entries they have been sending.

BVC and Britonisea can be pleased that they won the 2nd Semi Final with 36 points - another record breaking number for the nation. Britonisea, during the Semi Final, received 48% of the votes that were available for the taking. Axis made a great impression during the Semi Finals. While it was hoped the gold medal could be replicated in the final, the force of Izmedu was way too great for Britonisea.

With a change of Head of Delegation, Britonisea is going to be hoping it keeps up its great placing going in to the 41st World Hit Festival. BVC have confirmed that they will be participating in the upcoming contest. It is not confirmed as to whether Izmedu will host the upcoming contest - but according to their past wins, it is likely that they will host WHF41, which will make it their 7th hosting.

LIVE ON TNTV: Hurricane Naomi hit Togonistani northern coast - Over 400 casualties reported in Kalzan.
We are cutting the broadcast due to breaking news.

A severe storm warning was given out to residents of Teitei and Satina counties this morning, with residents being advised to stay indoors. A category 4 hurricane, nicknamed ''Naomi'' hit Kalzan as well as the outskirts of the city, causing severe structural damage. A group combined of local emergency forces, volunteers and members of Togonistan Armed Forces have started rescue operations in the area, and so far, over 400 casualties have been reported, with more than 2000 people reported to be missing. However, these numbers are just temporary and according to unofficial sources, the numbers might be double or even triple the size.

Hurricane Naomi approached Satina and Teitei counties from the north and hit the coast at around 2pm Togonistani Standard Time. The hurricane destroyed various living quarters as well as factory and commercial buildings, with largest reported damage occuring in Pakaha residential district. As of now, the hurricane has toned down and rescue operations in the area have begun.

Mike Tufega, Kalzan resident.

''I was working at a factory on the other side of the city. Suddenly, my co-worker stormed to the window, screaming. When i looked outside, I saw the storm from the distance. My first thought was to rush out and make sure my wife and children are safe. When I got to our house, all I saw was a pile of rubbish. I was dragged away by my neighbour, who insisted me that my family was safe. But for that one block alone, over 20 people are still reported to be missing.''

President Duke addressed the situation as well, ensuring that the government is already working on it.

Image
President Regin Duke

''Dear people. I talk to you at this dark hour, to ensure you that the Government of Togonistan is doing whatever is in their capabilities. Rescue teams have already been sent out to the area, as well as additional food and medical aid will be provided to victims of the hurricane. It is a shame that we were not smart enough to predict and prevent these events soon enough, nor begin a evacuation. However, there is no way that the victims will be left without the help they need.''

All the main roads leading to the city of Kalzan are claimed to be passable, however it is still advised to stay away from the area if possible. We will keep you updated on the situation, until further notice, this was Monica Fuga, TNTV.

Britonisea's biggest television show is gearing up for spectacular opening show!

By Damien Matthews

Tonight at 20:00 in Telm City, the country will be switching over to BVC One to watch the first live show of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, one of Britonisea's most watched shows. It is expected that a peak of 13 million households will watch the contest tonight.

In just 30 minutes, BVC One will begin their broadcast of Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2019, the fourth instalment to what has been a sudden success for those working at BVC. Vha Mehlodhivestoile first hit the television screens of Britonisea in 2016, billed as the saviour to the shocking 17th place the nation received at the 46th WorldVision Song Contest. At the time, Britonisea's results were not as reliable as they have now become at the WorldVision Song Contest. Coming off the back of a 41st place finish in the 40th WorldVision Song Contest to winning at the 41st edition of WorldVision Song Contest (the irony) before managing to stay in the top 6 for the editions following it, the 17th place was seen to be Britonisea falling back into the nation that it once used to be; a nation that many nations wished Britonisea would return to.

In order to gain interest and hype for the both Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2016 and the 47th WorldVision Song Contest, BVC enlisted some of the most famous faces to participate in Vha Mehlodhivestoile, promising more talent that the widely watched Britonish Celebrations every year. It worked, with BVC gaining a market share of over 40% during the Semi-Finals and much higher for the Grand Final. Since then, Vha Mehlodhivestoile has been an anticipated show to watch yearly, and eyes from around the multiverse will definitely be watching the contest to see who will be next winner.

The contest will be broadcasted on televisions across over 14 different territories including nations such as Mercedini, Kalosia and Izmedu. The high demand for Vha Mehlodhivestoile is due it's cheap but high-quality production for over 5 weeks. People who are not in the ABEN Union will be able to watch the contest from the YouTube Livestream.

Coming into the Semi-Final, Arek Laghari is placed 19th on the Britonish Charts - the highest of all the acts. It is expected that the other acts will catch up after tonight, however.

Live in Telm City, fans are pouring by the thousands into the arena, with the last few fans expected to take their seats by 19:45. The joint BVC and BITC crew are nervous but are excited to kick off the show they have been planning for months on end.

The vote will be open for international juries, and even if you can't vote, you are welcome to click this link here* in order to vote. For each of the Semi-Finals, a maximum of eight nations can vote - so please vote as soon as possible if you want to vote.

* The link does not go live until around 20:30

Happy National Brito Day everyone! Let the party BEGIN!!!!!

WATCH LIVE: Livestream of Firework Celebrations from all major Britonish Cities as National Brito Day rolls around again - Happy National Brito Day!

As the clocks strike twelve around Britonisea, fireworks shoot into the air to celebrate the largest day in Britonisea, the National Brito Day celebrations which sees the nation of nearly 65 million celebrate everything to do with Britonisea and its culture. Around the region, it is expected that Britonish expats and Britpphiles will be hanging up their Britonish flags on a mast and proudly waving their flags high. Back in Britonisea, and all throughout the ABEN nations, red, blue and orange will be painted along the streets with Britonisea spending billions on the event which will provide the most for the Britonish economy annually.

In the capital city, Doportedas, the seafront is getting packed with an expected 2 million people expected to be on the beach to draw in what can only be described as Britonisea’s answer to a Chinese new year. This year, Doportedas Authority has announced that all of the fireworks will be in Britonish colours only (whereas in other years it has been in different colours). Like Doportedas preparing for the WorldVision Song Contest last year around this time, Kyvivre is preparing to host what is expected to be the largest World Hit Festival since the 40th World Hit Festival - according to BVC insiders. Their fireworks will be played along to a track of the participating songs of the 47th World Hit Festival in a mash-up that will last 20 minutes long. Kyvivre intends to make sure that it is very memorable for those coming to experience what it feels like when Britonisea really celebrates…

Don't forget the main event of the evening, the National Concert which is taking place in Sports City's National Stadium...

WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST 75 STAR ELEANORA BUCKINGHAM RUSHED TO HOSPITAL IN MONTERRA, KALOSIA

By Damien Matthews

Dramatically a week before the competition begins in Monterra, Kalosia, the Britonish representative - Eleanora Buckingham - has been rushed to hospital for a reason we are not yet sure about.

Eleanora Buckingham has been rushed to hospital in Monterra, Kalosia as the singer collapsed at her hotel room only a couple of hours ago. The doctors advised BITC, the broadcaster for WorldVision Song Contest, against letting her perform at the 75th WorldVision Song Contest with BITC sending out a statement regarding Britonisea's participation at the WorldVision Song Contest.

"We have had some terrible news about the star of the Britonish Delegation which we must attend to. We have been advised by doctors to postpone Eleanora's participation at the WorldVision Song Contest. We have come to a decision to withdraw from the 75th WorldVision Song Contest, but we will still broadcast the event live on BITC for Britonish audiences. Our priorities are now with Eleanora Buckingham, her family and making sure she has a speedy recovery..."

The WorldVision Song Contest 75 will be broadcast live from Monterra, Kalosia on Saturday.

Summary for the upcoming Togonistani High Council elections 2019

Image
Togonistani First Front election poster

For the past month, election rally has been ongoing with political parties doing their promotional campaigns. With only a week left until the 2019 High Council elections, we take a look at the current statistics and predictions on how the parliament for the next two years might look like.

Image
Image

As can be seen on the graphs above,Togonistan First Front keeps a massive support as of August 2019. Based on the polls, the ruling party would be gaining 3 more seats in the council at the cost of the Green Party, who would have to give up 6 seats both to TFF as well as the Native Togoni Party. However, these are indeed just predictions and the whole playfield could turn very much upside down. Both the Social Democrats as well as the Conservative Labour Party are currently stuck at around the 4% support margin, based on the August 2019 polls. In order to get their foot in the council, they would need to overcome the 5% voting threshold during the elections. Seeing as how strong their promotional campaign has been, the goal is realisable for both of the parties and it can very much be that we would indeed see a 5-color council for the next term. The rest of the political powers, however, do seem to fall short. Libertarians with around 2% support and the rest of political parties with less than 1% support would be very unlikely to skyrocket during the elections and set their foot in the parliament.

Togonistani High Council pre-elections start on 3rd of September and end on the election day of September 7th.

TFF has won the 2019 Togonistani High Council elections

Image
Final voting results

Votes have been counted and everything is clear now. Togonistan First Front will continue governing the nation with a powerful support of 55%. With that result, the winning party has secured 57 out of 101 seats in the High Council and can be rest assured to hold the cabinet in it's steady hands for another 2 years. President Regin Duke, leader of TFF (and also the highest-scoring candidate these elections) congratulated his party on making a good result and thanked all the voters during his victory speech. Along with TFF, both the Green Party as well as Native Togoni Party managed to secure their position in the parliament. However, there is still a change in the face of both Social Democrats as well as Conservative Labout Party crossing the 5% voting threshold and therefore grabbing a few seats in High Council.

Image
Voting activity

The overall voting activity these elections was 41%, continuing the steady trend of less than half of eligible citizens voting. The highest voting activity, however, was in District 17 - Cambria city and Vaiatea county, where a whooping 70% of people had made their choice by the end of voting. Meanwhile, the lowest activity - 21%, was once again in Ramona city and Teitei county. It is hard to analyze what causes such a massive gap between different areas when it comes to voting activity.

Image
Support by voting districts

The winning party TFF dominated the scene, making top results in 13 out of 17 voting districts. However, in Districts 8 (Tidriana city and Huala county) and 17 (Cambria city and Vaiatea county) Green Party took the victory by outplaying TFF with their votes there. NTP also managed to gain a few top results, dominating the tables in Districts 11 (Kishlark city and Sifa county) and 14 (Netina county).

Image
New High Council

With a few more political powers in, the overall picture in High Council does looks a bit more colourful on the graphs, yet the TFF still maintains their majority, meaning that the one-party cabinet will most likely stay in power for the next 2 years.

Coronavirus Update 29th April 2020

Britonish PM Phaedra Sampson prepares for Nation Lockdown on Friday 1st May 2020 as Britonisea sees its highest daily coronavirus total...

Britonisea is in danger...

Confirmed in the newly published Live Coronavirus Board, the Britonish Department of Health & Social Care has announced that there has been a total of 5,429 cases confirmed today alone in Britonisea, an increase of 1,756 from the day before, bringing the Britonish total to 21,212 confirmed cases of the coronavirus. It is important to notice that this is not the total of active cases in the country, with it expected that over 3,000 cases have been resolved, with a confirmed total of 560 people dying from the virus, up by 68 from the day before. The Britonish way of deciding whether someone has died because of the novel coronavirus is rather lax, with the only people being excluded from these statistics being those who already have a terminal or chronic life-long illness. These figures also include those that have died in the community and care homes, with it being expected that around half of the death cases are those who are over the age of 65.

Similarly to nations such as Ekoz, Britonisea has had a relax approached to the Coronavirus, even recently hosting the 81st WorldVision Song Contest in Boschke last Saturday. Though, five days since the victorious event, Boschke & Ghiezland have seen a huge spike in cases, with it going the number going from 111 cases on the day of the Grand Final to now over 1,4000 cases - with 80% of those belonging to the Boschkian Authority. The Government has received criticism for allowing the WorldVision Song Contest to go ahead, which saw over 16,000 foreign fans fly in and out of Boschke over the weekend, to go to parties or live events in cramped conditions. Many have wondered why Phaedra Sampson has done nothing to stop the spread of the virus which has now taken hold in Britonisea.

The Britonish Prime Minister takes action...

Phaedra Sampson in an emergency National Broadcast due for broadcast on all Britonish television programmes has announced a lockdown (Or 'vhe confine'officielle 2020' as billed on Government papers) of the nation, restricting the moving of people into the country, but not out. The lockdown is set to go into place at 12 AM on the 1st May, for three weeks which is when it will be reviewed once again. This gives people tonight and tomorrow during the day to prepare to go into lockdown - ie buying items from Non-essential businesses etc). Phaedra Sampson has understood that this might spike cases of the coronavirus, but states that all companies must practise social distancing immediately. Here is what will happen in Britonisea from the 1st May 2020 for three weeks;
- Schools will not return for Term 3, which was due to begin on May 4th 2020.
- Britonisea will close borders with Estogium and Aloquirbe for the first time since the enacting of The Estograd Agreement 1972.
- Non-essential businesses will operate ONLINE only, and will close on 1st May at 00:00 Britonish Time. Non-essential businesses include clothes shops (where there is an online presence), charity shops, clubs, pubs, markets, libraries (computers and seating areas - people may still take out books), playgrounds, gyms, hotels (which will fully close after the LAST stay leaves, no more bookings will be accepted and upcoming bookings are cancelled) as of today. Concert arenas and music palladiums are closed (standing), but theatres are still open, if the theatres have social distancing measures [such as temperature checking, 3m distancing to get inside the building, and a 'two row, two seats' rule]. Stadiums will be allowed to stay open under similar rules. This might be reviewed before the 3 week review. Places of worships are to close immediately, but barbers and hairdressers can remain open if they practise social distancing measures. Leisure centres, theme parks, aquariums, zoos and bowling centres must close with immediate effect.
- Fast-food restaurants will open a takeout service only (where there is no online presence through apps such as Deliveroo, Uber Eats). Fast food restaurants will remain open in shops and medical centres.
- Supermarkets will remain open with a 3m rule. All supermarkets must come up with a one-way system in their stores. Small shops can allow a certain number of people in their shop, 1 person per 2m squared. Premises caught breaking the law will receive punishment.
- Banks will remain open under a new schedule, opening at 8AM to 10AM and 3PM to 6PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays only.
- No Briton residing in Britonisea only will be allowed to leave the country. Britons must be able to prove they have an address abroad before they can leave; they will not be allowed to return into the country under any circumstance for three weeks.
- Britons are ordered to return home immediately, with Britonish flights and sea travel being ordered to do the best they can to reach every destination "on the face of the Multiverse" in the words of Phaedra Sampson.
- Gatherings are banned, unless those of the same household.
- Members of the public are expected to leave their house once daily to shop or exercise.
- People can move from one house to another house, IF they stay in one location for two weeks or more.
- The Government has called on mobile providers to track people based on phone towers. There have been some questions about privacy, but this has been supported by the large majority of the nation (95% of 150,000 people surveyed).
- Android and Jexus, the two largest phone operating systems in Britonisea will develop a coronavirus tracking system to be trialled in the worst-hit areas (Boschke and Junterapten) on May 1st, with expected nation roll-out of by May 14.
- 60,000 people expected to be tested tomorrow, with Britonisea hoping to reach 250,000 tests per day by May 30.
- Trade via sea and air is expected to increase in a hope to keep the Britonish, ABEN and wider economy from crashing.
- People who break the rules of social distancing will recieve a fine. Threatening anyone with the coronavirus in person will face an Actual Bodily Harm charge and a charge/community service, and in the most serious of cases, imprisonment. A charge of Manslaughter might be given to an individual as well. Phaedra Sampson says "Prisons are more than empty enough for every single offender."

What are your thoughts on the Britonish lockdown?

New Britonish Head of Delegation for WHF51 RESIGNS after 10.17m watch Britonisea's worst placement in 32 editions!
by Xavier Pierre

Image
Runner-up of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, Shards of Diamonds, with Geraldine Hamilton (Head of Delegation for Britonisea at WHF51) before flying off to Todlichebujoku....

Britonisea has been on form in recent editions of the World Hit Festival, with the nation either having winning or hosting over the past five editions. While Shards of Diamonds may have been a hot favourite to take the crown after they were duly elected to do so in the largest Vha Mehlodhivestoile to date, they only scored 9 points, coming 12th - our worst result since the 19th World Hit Festival which took place in Kasin, Kalosia.

A total of 10.17 million watched the Grand Final of the World Hit Festival which took place in Todlichebujoku after BVC decided to hand down the host rights after having hosted the 47th and 49th editions of the prestige festival. The figures represent a loss of 5.13 million from the edition before, which was the highest watched edition of the World Hit Festival in Britonisea, where Meghan Jorgensen fought her way to the top, winning with her song, "Waiting For You". The upcoming World Hit Festival 51 could not have been hosted in Britonisea, with reasons at the time being that they did not want to clash with the WorldVision Song Contest; the successful contest which was hosted in Boschke. With COVID-19 sweeping across the country, it is unsure how Britonisea would have coped with hosting the 51st World Hit Festival, with it most likely being cancelled had the nation hosted. Though, before the National Lockdown, it was announced on the 4th April that Shards of Diamonds would represent the nation in the upcoming edition of the World Hit Festival hosted in Todlichebujoku.

Shards of Diamonds debuted at Vha Mehlodhivestoile this year with their high-energy pop banger, "Full of Surprises", which finished in fourth place in the Semi-Final, but seemed to have a huge impact in the Grand Final, with the song coming 2nd place overall. The song was not initially a fan favourite in Britonisea, with the Britonish Televote and Jury both ranking "Full of Surprises" eighth out of eight songs. It qualified to the Battle Stage where jurors from Polkopia voted for them to qualify, receiving a seal of approval from the likes WorldVision Song Contest 76 winner, Sergey Borisčev. Come the Grand Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, while Kelsey Banques'' win seemed highly probable, the real battle was for the 2nd place and the opportunity to head to the World Hit Festival. With KAYLEY or Tobias Noah expected to head there comfortably, Britons were sure that they had their top 2. Though, Shards of Diamonds were given a huge score of 108 points from the International Jury, but only receive one set of 12 points...from Ertzei Kishim. This was enough to seal their fate with KAYLEY and Tobias unable to catch the group. They were confirmed to represent us in Todlichebujoku without the support of either Ertzei Ksihim, Polkopia or even most of the nations that had given Shards of Diamonds a high score throughout the VM journey.

Their participation was put in jeopardy after the National Lockdown was instated, with it being instated right after they had left for Todlichebujoku. BVC confirmed that they would pay for Shards of Diamonds and the delegation they travelled with to stay out of Britonisea until travel restrictions calmed down, giving them the opportunity also to represent Britonisea at a later date. The group decided to go ahead with the 51st World Hit Festival participation, albeit with a reduced delegation - including the Head of Delegation, Geraldine. Through zoom chats and messages, Geraldine was managing the girl group abroad, hoping that despite the difficulty of not being there in the flesh would not have that much of an impact on the Festival. Upon arriving in Todlichebujoku, the group were drawn to perform 3rd - which was one of the earliest Britonisea had ever been drawn in, right before the eventual second-placed act, Malta Comino Gozo. Odds started widening for the Britonish group, but they were left unfazed, with a belief that they could retain the Britonish title. This, however, was not the case in the Grand Final. Britonish fans felt a sense of foreboding, especially through the host's mentioning of Britonisea throughout the Festival, and as Britonisea only scored 9 points in Phase 1, it looked like Britonisea was on course to score very lowly.
Image
WHF Overseer & Former 41-50 HoD
Guy Autriche

As Phase 2 begun and continued, while the neighbours of Britonisea - Estogium - managed to receive 2 sets of 5 points, finishing on 8th with 21 points, Britonisea wasn't moving up the scoreboard, but actually moving down. Todlichebujoku had overtaken Britonisea pushing the nation from 11th to 12th, consolidating Britonisea's worst placement in the competition since the 19th World Hit Festival in Kalosia. After the 'will Malta Comino Gozo give five points to Malta Comino Gozo' hiccup at the competition, it seemed as though the winner was set in stone, with BVC recording a huge drop in figures at that time - when it was clear that Britonisea was not going to receive any more points this edition. Many Britonish fans took to Twitter to vent their frustration as the nation, with one user @jxmorty commenting, "So we pick a last placed VM Semi-Finalist in the Britonish T.Vote to represent us? Well this flop certainly wasn't 'Full of Surprises' - it was expected." while another user @stanofdiamonds commented, "They tried their best, guys! We must congratulate them for representing our country in such a tough field of nations!" and perhaps it was. The top half of the scoreboard had received 21 points and more, with eventual winners Kalosia scoring a total of 34 points, suggesting that voters were spoilt for choice.

While 12th is not a bad result, the nation had not experienced a result this low for a long time, leading to many asking questions as to why the sudden dip. Britonisea recorded the largest drop in points in the current system at the World Hit Festival ever, with Britonisea losing a total of 42 points in the space of one edition. There seem to be many different reasons and theories people have come up with for why Britonisea didn't score as well as it usually does. One of these theories includes the appointment of Guy Autriche as the World Hit Festival Overseer. Guy Autriche was the Head of Delegation for Britonisea the longest period of time, heading the country through 10 senior World Hit Festivals and 1 Junior World Hit Festival and within that time, he was responsible for four of Britonisea's wins (42, 46, 48 and 50) while also being responsible for two 2nd places, in Junior World Hit Festival 6 in Besen and World Hit Festival 49 in Alshkan. While his first result was an average 7th placing, the man proved himself in the following editions, especially towards the end of his reign as Head of Delegation. For BVC, he seemed to be the perfect candidate to become the World Hit Festival Overseer, especially as he has had experience in the television industry (similarly to Fabio McAlpine) as well as songwriting. Some Britons say that after his appointment, Geraldine Hamilton was chosen hastily, with her not having any experience in the field of music, which may have contributed to Britonisea's low placing. Though some fans disagree with this, arguing that it was Britonisea and the International VM Jury that decided for Shards of Diamonds to go to World Hit Festival, with BVC only using her as a scapegoat.

If that is the case, it seems as though it has worked, with Geraldine Hamilton appearing on BVC News earlier today to speak about her experience being the Head of Delegation, where she announced that she will not be returning as the Head of Delegation for Britonisea as she believed that, while it was not her fault "Shards of Diamonds scored Britonisea's lowest score for ages, it's not the right job for me [her], there are others much more capable and I've contacted some people I think will do good." Her announcement this morning has come as a shock to BVC staff who had not been told prior to this interview that Geraldine would be stepping down from being the Head of Delegation. In a rushed press release today; BVC had announced;

BVC Headquarters, Junterapten wrote:
The result of the competition was, of course, not what we wanted for Britonisea, but we are a nation that is committed to picking itself back up and trying again. We receive the news that Geraldine Hamilton will step down as the Head of Delegation as a shock, but she has suggested some people that she believes will be better suited for the job. Geraldine will always have a place on the Britonish World Hit Festival Delegation and we wish her all the success in her career moving forward...

The broadcaster has also promised to return "stronger than ever" as though the nation could get any better than the recent form that it has been on. The next Head of Delegation for Britonisea is expected to be revealed on Sunday 24th May 2020, along with information regarding Britonisea's World Hit Festival 52 participation.

As previously mentioned, the winner of the Festival was Kalosia, who won their 3rd title in style, winning with 34 points - 6 points and out of reach of second-place Malta Comino Gozo (who also scored their best result to date). Kalosia sent Domeniku Kaľari with "L'Eklisu" which in English means "The Eclipse". Britonisea did not vote for Kalosia, unfortunately, with Britonish televoters ranking the nation 10th in total. You can find out the complete breakdown of the Estogian and Britonish votes....
Image

It is unclear as to whether Kalosia will host the 52nd World Hit Festival with the nation currently experience one of the most draconian government reactions to the outbreak. In both the Britonish and Todlichebujoki hostings of the WorldVision Song Contest and World Hit Festival, RTVK (the national broadcaster for Kalosia at the World Hit Festival) has asked for additional measures no other country had asked for. It is difficult to see a normal World Hit Festival taking place next edition, whether Kalosia hosts or not. The World Hit Festival Headquarters have stated that they have yet to come up with a plan ahead of the upcoming Festival.

It will be interesting to see the song and artist for the upcoming World Hit Festival - I am excited!

World Hit Festival winning composer, Tom Stardust to become Britonisea's 7th Head of Delegation for the World Hit Festival!
by Xavier Pierre

Image
The person who will be in charge of the Britonish entries at the World Hit Festival from now on is this man - Tom Stardust. Will he take Britonisea back to victory?

After the brutal events which transpired after Britonisea's worst World Hit Festival result in 32 editions, Tom Stardust will become Britonisea's seventh World Hit Festival Head of Delegation after Geraldine Hamilton quits after just one edition.

It has finally been revealed by Brityunik Vefecosoin Cairkovoin (BVC) that the person who is in charge for the Britonish entries to the World Hit Festival will be none other than Tom Stardust, a man with many accolades to his name which gives us reasons to be excited for Britonisea's future World Hit Festival entries. The reveal has come after BVC made earlier during the day;

BVC Headquarters, Junterapten wrote:
Exciting news! We can reveal that at the upcoming World Hit Festival, we will be joined by renowned composer, Tom Stardust, though this time he will take on the role of our new Head of Delegation. Tom has been part of our World Hit Festival Delegation family for quite some time now and we're excited we are excited to see what blossoms from this partnership. We believe that he is the right candidate to take us to greater heights at the World Hit Festival and we are sure that he will deliver for Britonisea. Tom and our World Hit Festival 52 representative have already composed a demo version of their entry and we cannot wait to reveal the final cut to the World in a couple of weeks time.

The news that Tom Stardust will replace Geraldine Hamilton has come as a sigh of relief to Britonish fans of the World Hit Festival who feared that BVC would select someone who was not a part of the music industry, like Geraldine. Tom Stardust is a composer, known for his work away from the World Hit Festival mostly, with him being behind many of the songs that topped charts across the ABEN Union. At the 46th World Hit Festival in Izmedu, Tom had his first shot at the World Hit Festival, with Vhe Qí and their song "Dangerously in Love which won the contest, giving Britonisea its fourth win. Tom Stardust had worked closely with the BVC delegation therein, providing his opinion on World Hit Festival songs Britonisea sent in the time after that. Tom became the composer for the 49th World Hit Festival which was held in Alshkan, with Michael Turner and their song "Unguided", which placed 2nd in the Grand Final, missing out on another win by a single point to eventual winners Izmedu. His track record at the World Hit Festival and away in the charts show that this man has a lot of power behind him.

Image
Announced later on the BTVB page that he will become the new Head of Delegation for Britonisea at the World Hit Festival.

During Britonisea's past at the World Hit Festival, neither Fabio McAlpine nor Guy Autriche had an entry score outside the top seven - with their worst entry being the edition the cross-over happened between the two; 7th place. That was put to an end last edition as Britonisea placed 12th. When asked about his opinion regarding the Britonish entry, this is what the new Head of Delegation had to say;

Tom Stardust wrote:
I felt for those girls, I really did. I think that the pressure and expectation that Britonisea has probably played on them a bit. Lots of people were talking about them and by the time of the Grand Final, the song just...didn't connect to as many people as they wanted it to. I liked the song, though and I wish them all the best in the future...

We continued to question Tom. We asked about World Hit Festival 52, updates about where the Festival will be held and who will represent us. We also asked him about how he will get around during the COVID-19 pandemic....

Tom Stardust wrote:
Well firstly, I am not too sure where I will be going for the 52nd World Hit Festival - BVC hasn't yet told me anything and even if they did - I wouldn't be allowed to say haha! I'm excited to go wherever we go, to be honest. I've been to Izmedu, I've been to Alshkan, maybe somewhere completely different. With that being said, our World Hit Festival 52 entrant...I have spoken to them. They will be a fantastic addition to the Britonish WHF family. I've composed the song with them from my studio in isolation and despite the difficulties we have faced, the song has turned out really well. In terms of COVID-19, the rule is really that we're not allowed to leave Britonisea if we haven't got another place of abode outside this country. I just so happen to have a flat in Ekoz where I can go - the restrictions there are much less stringent than they are here. I have a feeling though that by the time of the 52nd World Hit Festival, I'll be able to leave from Britonisea. Let's hope so, aye?

We also asked for what he plans to do in the future for Britonisea at the World Hit Festival and his opinion of Britonisea's past form and whether he feels pressure trying to live up to it.

Tom Stardust wrote:
Of course I do feel heaps of pressure as the new Head of Delegation, but remaining consistent and doing well is something that was practised by the Heads of Delegations that have gone on to be the World Hit Festival Overseers. I've spoken to them and got the advice I need to help my journey as a World Hit HoD and so hopefully I follow in their footsteps and become just as good! I am not really looking into the future that much - for me it's about the present. Doing well at the 52nd World Hit Festival is my main priority right now...because if I don't I'll get the axe and that won't be good for my image at all! No, but really, I'll think about World Hit Festival 53 when it comes, 54 when it comes, Junior World Hit Festival when it comes...and yes, Britonisea will be participating in the upcoming one too! Say I stay until WHF60, I think my aim is to get a medal position the same amount of times as Fabio - 4. I think I can do it. God, wish me good luck!

The happy and chirpy character will certainly bring even more life to the World Hit Festival delegation with many members of the delegation still reeling from the shock of the edition before. Also confirmed for the 52nd World Hit Festival is "Comeuppance" star, Lucie Dagenham who will show her face to the World Hit Festival audience once again, this time as the spokesperson. The news was revealed on the BTVB twitter page;

While the country would have prepared for a celebratory fireworks display 12am, it was announced by the Britonish Government that no fireworks celebrations would go ahead. BVC and BITC have agreed a change of scheduling to make up for a pretty tame National Brito Day...

Today is the most important day of the Britonish calendar as the country of 62 million people would've prepared to celebrate it's national day. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic in the country and the less-than-pleasing weather conditions that Britons will be facing today, despite the bank holiday monday, Brito Day might as well have been cancelled. Some cities will have smaller parades, though this depends on how the Authority the city is in has suffered from the pandemic. For example, Junterian, Boschkian and Aloquirbic cities have been banned from having said parades. If you don't want to go out and celebrate your bank holiday in a restaurant, remember to keep stafe and bring PPE.

For those of us who want to go for a stroll in the park or perhaps a picnic with friends might be disappointed. The 27th July is set to be one of the rainest National Brito Days we've had in a few years, with heavy rains sweeping through the country, hitting the East by 11 AM and the West by 3 PM. The rain is set to last for an hour, and you could experience heavy downfalls. After the rain passes, it should be pleasant you might still muddy your shoes. Those living in southern areas might receive rain for a prolonged amount of time.

Television stations of Britonisea will be providing great coverage of the events that will happen from all corners of the country, which is outlined below.

There will be a series of game shows to lighten up the mood which will take us through the afternoon. We will see celebrities playing Britonish themed versions of the game shows we absolutely love to watch. There will be loads of chances to raise money for charity, including the fight against those still suffering from the coronavirus.

Though, you also get a chance to make some money yourself! Throughout the evening, on both BVC and BITC, in accordance with the National Gambling Authority, there will be a chances to enter draws to win yourself prizes such as a spa weekend, £500 vouchers, £1,000 cash and even a student loans waiver for upcoming, new and past university students. Over on BVC, there will be a Live Draw with a jackpot of £4 million, with BITC's draw offering 54 (that's 27x2) people £750 BPS per week for the rest of their lives - that's £39,000 per year ($62,000 NSD) tax free money in your bank account until you hit the bucket!1.

Over on BVC starting at 6:30pm, the show Vha Mehlodhivestoile: Rising Stars will broadcast with those who didn't make the final cut of VM2020 performing there. Similar to a regular Semi-Final of Vha Mehlodhivestoile, eight acts will perform perform and there will be a vote. The top four will be announced, with the eventual 2nd and 1st place reprising their songs at the end of the show in true Vha Mehlodhivestoile style held in the BVC Studios Junterapten. It will be hosted by upcoming World Hit Festival host, Ryan Holkar and Evangeline Hope who prepare to get themselves ready to host the Grand Final of WHF53 in Bovingdon.

The National Concert will be broadcast as usual, though at the later time of 8pm with the Concert happening for 3 and a half hours, finishing at 11:30pm. The shortened concert will have performances from not just Britonisea, but other nations across the Multiverse such as other Novapax nations, Besen with their artist OLA who received success in the charts - breaking the Britonish Top 10 and Malta Comino Gozo. During the song contest portion of the evening, we will see some performances from Kelsey Banques - the VM winner, Tobias Noah and the upcoming World Hit Festival representative, Andres Cesare who will sing his song, "Rewind" for the first time live ahead of his World Hit Festival performance on the 22nd August. The Concert will start with a National Address from the Prime Minister.

We hope you enjoy the National Day and we hope that everything can go back to normal for next year!
