Not likely, considering his extreme popularity with the GOP. Any moderate candidate for the GOP would get crushed.

The Democrats take the House in 2018. Explosive allegations eventually come to light as a result of the investigation. The Democrats impeach Trump, igniting a political crisis and bringing the fight into the Senate (which is narrowly held by Republicans). The country is consumed by scandal.

Mike Pence takes charge and pardons Trump. All is well with the nation once more.

You gotta get Trump out of office first. I don't think he would resign, so the Senate would need to convict him. That requires a two-thirds vote, which may not be possible to pull off.
