N.A.F Signs Biotech Agreement With F.S.R

Many North American biotechnology industries have announced that they, with approval from the federal government, have signed a cooperative agreement with the Andean Workers Cooperative biotechnologies division, which operates within the Federation of Socialist Republics. The agreement isn't anything complicated and is more or less collaboration on projects that the N.A.F and F.S.R have been already developing, and it most likely will not include every biotechnology projects in development. The agreement currently entails collaboration on at least two projects that the N.A.F is developing and the F.S.R's biotech goals from its five-year plan and at least two of it's associated projects (see below.) Both sides have stated that more projects are going to be included in the future. Given the past tension between the two nations, many assume that collaboration will be specific towards civilian technologies and application rather than anything that can be used militarily. The population has expressed mixed feelings towards this. On one hand the N.A.F is "giving [it's] technological secrets" to the F.S.R, which is viewed with distrust in the N.A.F. Many argue that the F.S.R would misuse N.A.F technology and apply it in the development of unconventional bio-weapons. On the other hand though, many view this as a sign of thawing relations and that by combining the two largest economies in the development of biotechnology could lead to significant development in the fields of medicine and genetics, thus improving quality of life globally.

Here is a list of projects known to be included in the agreement:

From the F.S.Rs five-year plan:
- Move faster to facilitate the wide application of genomics and other biotechnologies
- Create demonstrations of network-based biotech applications
- Stimulate the large-scale development of next generation biotech products and services
- Promote the creation of basic platforms such as gene and cell banks

Projects that are part of the five-year plan currently included in the agreement:
- The development of genetically engineered bacteria-phages that can be utilized as an alternative to antibiotics and also allow for easy re-specialization of the phage in accordance to the bacteria involved, thus allowing for easy
treatment of all know bacterial infections and diseases.
- The development of genetically engineered crops that can survive in extreme environments/conditions and have natural resistance to harmful insects.

Projects from the N.A.F that are currently included in the agreement:
- The development of genetically re-programmed adult stem-cells that operate identically to embryonic stem cells and thus can specialize in all cell types.
- The development of genetically engineered hybrid species between extinct and living relatives that can be deployed throughout the world in an attempt to stabilize local ecosystems and ensure global ecostability. This project also includes the development of an effective means to produce these animals in a manner that is fast and also retains genetic diversity. It is also not exclusive to extinct animals and aims to assist in preventing current living animals from going extinct. A sub-project also exists that is working on developing the means to artificially create genetic-diversity within a genetically engineered species.

NTS-1 Mako: A new torpedo for the FSR & NAF

The NTS-1 Mako is a new supercavitating torpedo which was jointly developed by the NAF and FSR. While supercavitating torpedoes have existed for a while, the Mako utilizes several advanced techniques not found in their contemporary counterparts. In addition, the NTS-1 Mako will serve as the main torpedo for the NAF's and FSR's Navy, with there being a submarine, surface, and air-launched version.
One of the difficulties typically encountered with while using supercavitating torpedoes is that the torpedo is loud. For the torpedo, that itself isn't a problem due to the fact that it can likely outrun any opposition. However, the problem arises with the submarine, as firing such a torpedo would give away its location to enemy vessels. This is because, in order to launch a supercavitating torpedo, the torpedo has to be launched at high speeds, around 60 miles per hour. To get around this issue, the Mako was purposely designed to have "slow-launch capability." The way this works is that the torpedo surrounds itself with a special liquid membrane. Details regarding the technology are highly classified but said liquid-membrane allows for the torpedo to significantly reduce drag at slow speeds. It's speculated that with this, the torpedo can enter supercavitation, as in enclosing itself with a bubble at a speed of 40 knots. While the torpedo uses a rocket to boost itself to supercavitation, a hydrojet does the bulk of the work before and after the rocket boost. With this, the torpedo can reach supercavitation even if it was launched at slow speeds, which also means that it can get closer to its target prior to entering a supercavitating state. Of course, the torpedo can be immediately launched at high speeds to enter supercavitation as soon as possible if there's an emergency. With the aid of electromagnetic propulsion, the torpedo can reach over 250 knots.
Another major issue with supercavitation torpedoes is guidance and maneuverability. While newer Soviet models of supercavitating torpedoes are rumored to have improved guidance and maneuverability, it's not certain how much of an improvement the new designs will have. In the early 2000s, the NAF defense company General Dynamics came up with a solution which would allow for sonar capability, however, research stagnated after a while. Under the NAF-FSR joint development of the Mako the concept GM came up with was heavily refined. In most supercavitating torpedo the cavitating disk is too small to host a sonar system, and the engine is far too noisy. The solution came in utilizing a parabolic curve for the cavitating disk, which gave enough surface area for the surface torpedo. The sonar emitter is mounted on the fin tips of the torpedo, which also use noise filters to block out engine noise. The fins also aid with steering and thus are very durably built in order to handle the pressures of supercavitation. In addition, the liquid membrane technology utilized by the torpedo reportedly aids with cruising control while at supercavitation. Relatedly, the Mako can use its computational and sensorial capabilities to plan an optimal way to strike a ship or submarine. In addition, it also helps the Mako avoid anti-torpedo decoys, and the Mako can also relay information back to the submarine which using wire guidance.
Then there's also the issue with range, with plagued supercavitating torpedoes of the past. However, recent developments such as the Australian Seahawk torpedo have increased the range limit. While developing the NTS-1 Mako, NAF and FSR designers experimented with newer and more efficient fuel and engine technology. Other than incremental improvements, the main advancement includes the inclusion of electromagnetic propulsion and the use of gel rocket propellants, which allows for easier storage akin to a solid propellant, and increased efficiency while in use like a liquid propellant. Range varies from 30-42 kilometers, which a good part of it is determined on how long it takes prior to the torpedo entering supercavitation.
Another area which the Mako's designers' focus on was firepower. A major part of what inspired the creation of the Mako was the advent of newer Japanese submarines which were heavily armored. Interestingly enough, public information given on Japanese submarine design implies that the armor is focused on protecting against hull penetration from a torpedo. As with the rest of the torpedoes fielded by the FSR and NAF, the Mako explodes underneath the surface ships or submarine's kneel which causes significantly more damage than hitting the warship directly. That being said, with the NAF and FSR not having direct access to the ship designs the true capabilities of it was unknown. So, just in case the Mako was designed as an all-purpose heavyweight torpedo with a 300kg warhead. In addition, according to a report, the warhead was designed to be as efficient as possible for its size, meaning that it's more powerful than a typical 300kg warhead.

The Hyperion 2 heads to the Development Stage; Overlord 20 Tank begins its own trip as well.

Today the Zackarothian military made another announcement regarding the upgrades to its forces. The High Leader recently approved of a spending bill to upgrade important sectors of the Zackarothian military and has also approved long standing projects to be completed as soon and as reasonably possible. This has the lead the way for Zackaroth's Hyperion 2 and Overlord 20 Tank to finally enter their development stages.

The Hyperion 2 is Zackaroth's second foray into creating a jet fighter. While the first Hyperion is relatively new it is not considered a 5th generation plane and rather straddles the border between 4th and 5th. The Hyperion 2 is looking to change that completely. The craft will be a stealth multi-role fighter, able to intercept, bomb as well as control airspace. The Hyperion 2 will also have a built in ECA and ECD, Electronic Cyber Attacker and Electronic Cyber Defender, systems to both conduct and defend cyberwarfare in the air.

The jet will be able to be able to equip beyond visual range missiles, close combat missiles, standoff weapons, precision weapons and laser guided bombs as well as the new hypersonic missiles. A new supersonic missile is also being created for the Hyperion 2 called the ZRJ-12. While slower then hypersonic missiles, they will be easier to produce and are already leaving the development stage. The missiles themselves have been created with the intent of reducing radar cross section and make it harder to shoot down. Being able to travel at up to Mach 3, it may give Zackaroth the edge in having one of the fastest non hypersonic high speed missiles in the world and would make the Hyperion 2 a danger to behold no matter the armament.

The Hyperion 2 expected to complete its development stage sometime at the end of 2020 and most likely enter service in 2021 after the prototypes are tested.

Design of the Hyperion 2.

The Overlord 20 Tank is the newest Zackarothian tank and successor to the original Overlord Tank that was discontinued a few years ago. Getting rid of the massive cannons, the Overlord 20 goes for a more streamlined look. Equipped with advanced armor, the tank is a combination of Zackaroth's electronic and industrial ingenuity. While expected to not have as much firepower or accuracy as the new FSR tank, its main strength comes from it can do to beyond shooting.

The tank will be equipped with a LAWS/Dazzler laser system. This will be placed under the secondary gun and allow both offensive and defensive power to the tank. The system will be able to switch between the types of lasers, changing their frequency and intensity of Light. The Dazzler system will work much like the gun, able to severely or even permanently blind enemies that are within the frontal cone of the gun. The LAWS system will provide defense against small scale ballistic projectiles and be able to be placed in an "auto" mode to work without a human operator.

Second, the tank will be equipped with a system similar to the Digital Grenade Launcher. Instead called the Digital Shell Launcher(DSL), an Overlord 20 will be able to fire a shell that can be set to explode after a certain distance has been reached or exploded early if a button is pressed within the tank, allowing Operator more control over the damage they inflict upon the enemy.

The final big system reveal was the inclusion of the Zackarothian Adaptoid Armor. From the description presented "Another product by WAREZ, the Adaptiod armor is the first in the line of future heavy infantry camo. This special plate coating can be placed on heavy infantry vehicles such as tanks. This coating protects these vehicles from infrared night vision, allowing the vehicle to effectively bypass enemy lines or convoy supplies at night. The coating also has a functional prototype system that allows the armor to preform mimicry of objects or surroundings and even change its heat signature to match said object. Having a “library” of objects, the armor plating can mimic objects such as trucks and cars or backgrounds such as forests" would make the Overlord 20 the most advanced piece of Zackarothian technology. While other tanks have been coated with the special armor, it will come standard to the Overlord. Its been rumored that Zackaroth has sold this armor to friendly nations over the years and allowed them to test it during the ongoing wars. This is not confirmed and some don't believe it to be true.

The Adaptoid Armor is still technically a prototype but described as battle ready. As the tech and armor constantly evolves, the future batch of Overlord 20s are expected to be able to be upgraded and obtain them rather then having outdated systems.

The Overlord 20 is expected to exit development this year and begin production towards the end. Its been rumored atleast. 900 units have been ordered for creation depending on how testing goes.

Puertollano unveils 'Santander Guided Missile Destroyer' blueprints

The Puertollanoan Central Industrial Military Co-operative (PCIMC) released new information on a plan to be embarked on by the Bolivarian Republic. While no specifics have been stated yet; the type of vessel and name has been announced. It has been called the 'Santander Guided Missile Destroyer', named after Francisco Santander; a Puertollanoan revolutionary during the war for independence. Santander worked closely with Simon Bolivar, the beloved nation hero of Puertollano, even working for him as Vice-President of Puertollano in the early years. This is part of a massive modernisation program initiated by President Castillo, but his critics are becoming more vocal. The National Conservative Round-Table welcome the news of increased military spending, however they retract from the 'obviously politically motivated naming of the destroyer'. Further, they have critisised the President for 'stacking the boards of the PCIMC with his trade unionist, socialist buddies.' Castillo has denied this comments. While there is no date for finished construction as of yet, it is expected the construction will only begin in a few years.

This is a PNN Breaking report from PNN Headquarters in Tokyo, there has been an exchange of gunfire across Tokyo. At first it was assumed to be a terrorist attacks but there have been images and videos on social media of Japanese military units engaging one another across the city and in front of the Imperial palace. The Assembly Building also appears to be in a state of chaos as troops are fighting within its halls. All media and internet outlets have ceased operating and the nation is completely isolated from sources both internal and external. While right now PNN can only confirm that this is occurring in Tokyo, however, we have received reports of similar events in Osaka, Kyoto, and Chuuk. THIS IS AN ALERT FROM THE JAPANESE GOVERNMENT - PLEASE STAND BY

Today, the 21st of March, 2020, the armed forces of the former government removed the Orbanis Assembly and the Prime Minster from their positions of power within the Japanese government. This was met with resistance and several military units fought against those of the removal force. However, at 1900 hours local time the entirety of the Orbanis Government was removed and replaced by a provisional government. At the same time the military gained control over the Imperial Palace and has given control of the nation over to the Imperial Family. As of now, Emperor Akihito is now the current leader of the nation of Japan and a council of military advisors will be serving below him. This is a message from the Emperor to the people of Japan and her territories.

....to the People of the islands of Japan and to the territories that the former Orbanis Government encompassed across the Pacific. The poor leadership of Prime Minister Ado and the Assembly has led to our great nation overstretching herself, entangled her foreign affairs in Africa and South America, and once again has made Japan dependent on the supplies from the rest of the world to sustain her. No longer. The military and myself have oversaw the removal of this current government and restored the monarchy to power. While I know many of you will be opposed to such an action, the truth is that there was no other way to ensure our sovereignty. Japan survived the cold war and the Soviet-American War by isolating ourselves, and now we shall do the same.

As of this moment I am proclaiming the end of the Orbanis Government and the re-establishment of the Japanese Empire. The Imperial house and the Chrysanthemum Throne shall be its heads of government with the national diet representing the people. We will ensure that continued liberties and freedoms of our own people, however, we will no longer be a defensive military power. Our armed forces will now be built for both war and peace and we shall no longer wait and watch for threats to come to us. The Imperial Banner will once again be a sight to be respected across the globe. The military has been given 50% of the 2020 budget to rebuild its forces to have a means of conducting major offensive operations.

Lastly, Japan will be suspending diplomatic ties with the world and halting any trade deals, including those with Advanced Submersible International. Japan will no longer be making weapons for potential adversaries. Whether these deals will remain intact or if they will be ended completely is something that each nation must contact me directly about, including any submarine orders. This suspension or relations will include trade as well, for now Japan will be closing its borders until the government is stabilized and the Empire is capable of maintaining its borders, both Maritime or otherwise. All foreigners and merchant ships have 48 hours to leave before the borders are closed unless the government is approached about the matter.

Government enacts Order 67 to evacuate URT and DEU citizens from Japan

Today after the worrying regime change in Japan, the Italian government has enacted Order 67 to evacuate all URT citizens from Japan, the order also facilitates the evacuation of as many DEU citizens as possible after URT citizens are removed. The order was enacted after the Japanese government called for all foreigners to leave Japan before the borders are closed. Concerned for the welfare of Europeans in Japan, President Gelmini enacted the order through an executive order. With review from the Council of Ministers, Chamber of Deputies and the Senate expected in the coming days.

Alitalia, the nations flag carrier, has dispatched its emergency evacuation fleet of aircraft (which are standard Alitalia planes set aside to be used by Aeronautica Militare pilots in the event of a mass evacuation) which will travel to Japan's main international airports to collect URT citizens in Japan and as many DEU citizens as possible. The fleet will then land flights in Rome, Vienna, Athens, Milan, Turin, Naples, Bucharest, Thessaloniki and Zagreb. From there, those evacuated will be registered and given train or bus tickets to their home town. DEU residents will be given domestic flight tickets to their local airport in Europe.

In an effort to support the evacuation process, President Gelmini has given permission for EURO FORCE ONE, the presidential plane, to travel to Sapporo to help in the evacuation of people from Japan. The government hopes that once the Japanese government has had time to stabilise, flights to and from the country will be able to return and hopes that trade deals between he two countries can be maintained.

Birth of the American Shipping Company

Today following the worrying regime change in Japan international trade began to ground to a standstill. Japan's isolationist economic policies meant that half of the global's container shipping vessels were put out of the global market, causing a spike in shipping costs and significant delays. With the threat of an economic crisis, the American Shipping Company was created as a joint state-owned company between the FSR and NAF.

The foundation of the ASC was several key mergers between NAF and FSR shipping companies and cooperatives, meaning that already, the ASC is one of the more influential commercial shipping companies in the world. In the nearby future, the ASC plans to rapidly boost the construction of new commercial shipping vessels, which it also plans to operate across international sea lanes. In addition, the ASC will build and operate ports around the world in order to aid with commercial goals. With the vast industrial capacity of the FSR and NAF and the rapidly growing industrial base of Orostan, it's expected that it's quite likely that the ASC will dominate global shipping in the future. With the advent of the ASC, advanced industrial techniques will be applied in order to maximize the efficiency of construction and the operations of the vessels.

In related news, a joint NAF-FSR task force was created in order to evacuate North and South Americans from Japan, as well as industry located within the country. Evacuation of civilians will be the main priority due to the fact that borders will be closing within forty-eight hours, and reportedly many civilian vessels and aircraft were "conscripted" in order to take part in the evacuation efforts. After reaching a "safe" port, the evacuated will be registered and be sent to their hometown.

Update: Similarly, the American Air Freight Company has also been created. The AAFC and ASC are part of the parent company American Transport Company, which has also been given authority to expand operations in the future.

Empire of Japan Established

Following a military intervention by the newly established Imperial Army, the Orbanis Government has been deposed and the Empire of Japan once again flies its banner across the Pacific. While the Emperor is the head of the government, he is held accountable by the National Diet which acts as the legislative branch and the representation of the people in this new government. The military falls under his command but the power to command the military itself falls under the authority of the Military Council. Lastly the Judicial Branch has maintained intact to ensure that the justice system is no impeded by the new government. The people of Japan nervously await this new government's actions on the global stage.

Neutral Zone Established

One of the first orders set by the Emperor, Imperial Order #4, was the establishment of a 10 mile neutral zone on the edge of Japanese Maritime Economic Zones. This neutral zone is a buffer zone between Japan and the outside world and is set as a warning zone to any vessels. Vessels that enter this zone will be given two warnings, once upon entering the zone and a second three miles inside the zone. Should these hails be ignored the Japanese Imperial Fleet will engage the vessel, board it, and seize it regardless of nationality or whether the ship is a military or civilian ship. This will be done with minimal loss of life and should the ship be having mechanical issues they will be ordered to anchor and await a Japanese Escort and tow outside of Imperial Territory. The new region is called the Imperial Neutral Zone and has come into effect immediately.

The Emperor has also enacted Imperial Order #5: Imperial Trade Beyond the Empire's Borders. To this end the Empire has opened Taiwan, Hiroshima, and Tokyo to nations wishing to trade with Japan. There is a single route that links all three of these areas that is 15 miles wide and has an inbound and outbound lane. These lanes are under the supervision of the Japanese Imperial Forces and any ships entering and exiting the area will be escorted by the Imperial Navy. Should any nation wish to conduct trade with Japan you must contact the Emperor and trade at one of these three ports. There are no exceptions to this. Japan is still willing to use its own merchant fleet in global trade with approved nations.

Shipbuilding Boom

With the creation of the ASC in the New World the Emperor and the Diet have issues heavy subsidies to Japanese shipyard to bolster shipbuilding across the region in both surface and sub-surface vessels. Already dozens of ships have been ordered and five new shipyards are being established with ground breaking ceremonies expected to occur shortly. The Japanese Navy wants to increase by surface and underwater fleet numbers substantially and is contributing 250 Billion Yen to the current shipbuilding boom. Japan wishes to convey that its shipyards are NOT open to international use as per Imperial Order #2: No Ship or Submarine Sales Unless Authorized by Imperial Decree. Japan wishes yo control the goods that enter and exit its waters, particularly those in terms of ships themselves.

In wake of change in Japan, Australia sees no danger to future partnerships

CANBERRA - The Commonwealth of Australia has not declared the compulsory evacuation of Australian citizens and nationals from the newly established Empire of Japan. However, most have taken the task to return to Australia or otherwise move to China or Korea. This comes after a sudden military coup changed the country's governance and after several foreign nations also started to evacuate citizens from what appears to be a re-emergence of ultranationalism in Japan.

However, Canberra is certain that relations between Tokyo are still relatively great and that the two sides have agreed to continuing relations and trade agreements, with Japan bound Australian ships still on schedule to Japan. Although Australian chartered ships will still have to follow certain rules such as only accessing key ports, entering the neutral zone and many more, their has been no negative effect on Australia so far as trade with Japan still eases as normally as prior with agricultural products topping the list (49%), followed by minerals (28%), and then consumer goods (18%). Electronics and high tech software still is the country's largest import products from Japan.

The country will be closely monitoring Japan's local politics and reforms as the Japanese Empire is still at the stage of figuring things out. All considered, Japan and Australia are still key allies in the Pacific and across the world.

Australia has an embassy in Tokyo, and about 20,000 citizens in Japan. Japan has an embassy in Canberra and according to the Australia Bureau for Statistics there are about 1.4M Japanese nationals in Australia, most have Australian citizenship.

"Every Man A Rifle" Reform to pass legislative?

Everyone's heard of the Every Man a Rifle reform. A reform with a goal of making firearm safety & basic training more available to the public, and make firearms far more available than they already are in general. By the sounds of things, the Canadian Legislative may just pass the reform; "It's our basic, human right to have the ability to defend ourselves, whether it be from Tyranny in any of its forms or from another individual who violates the N.A.P." stated Hyper Democratic Party MP Alexander Overbeck, son of former President Jordan Overbeck. Roughly 76% of Canadian Parliament appears to support the legislation, 20% remain unsure, and the remaining 4% oppose it; "Firearms are already readily available enough in Canada as it is, as is firearm safety training. We don't see a reason to make them any more available than they already are." states Hyper Socialist Party MP Jacob O'Brien. At this point, it doesn't matter if all 20% of those "unsure" individuals decide to vote against the legislative; that would still put the anti-reformists far behind.

The NAF had promised to reinforce their forces in Nigeria, and they kept to that promise; roughly 100,000 North American soldiers has been mobilized into Nigeria. Information about where exactly they're headed or landing is remaining classified, however this is without a doubt the largest military expedition sent by the NAF ever, with the second largest only ranging from 50,000-60,000 men. Canadian Waves Ship-Building Industry unveils their own Submarine Crafts!

As of recently, the Canadian Ship-Building company, so creatively named Canadian Waves had recently unveiled their own Sub-Carrier and Sub-Cruiser projects! The Carrier, heavily inspired by the Zuikaku-Class Sub-Carrier, the CNS-Davis, named after the Officer who had successfully pulled off Operation Philip, and had crushed the Soviet Pacific Fleet in a mere 11 days of naval combat; cutting off all connection with Alaska and allowing the Canadian Army to win the war by conquering the now isolated Alaska. The Sub-Carrier supposedly runs on Thorium engines, with other methods of propulsion remaining unknown. They're primarily armed with RTS Batteries, and Torpedo Tubes, both with water-tight protection Electromagnetic Propulsion capabilities, giving their weapons greater range, accuracy and speed. It has torpedo interceptors and ECM packages & Noise makers developed by Canadian Waves. Not much is known much else about it, other than it's supposedly capable of going at a top speed of 50 Knots, but 40 Knots while Cruising. This makes the CNS-Davis much faster than the Zuikaku, however, it can only carry up to 33 Sub-Craft total, meaning it can't carry anywhere near as much subcraft as the sub-carrier it's based off of, and has a displacement of roughly 28,000, however Canadian Waves did not release much other details. They supposedly had as well, released another Sub-Cruiser, Sub-Interceptor and their own model of a Sub-Fighter, however states that they'll only release details about the rest of the crafts after a planned war game that the Canadian National Naval Forces will be holding in Hudson Bay by the end of next month, though with recent developments, we can at least figure out how they're armed, what kinds of engines they're utilizing and just how effective they may be.

Europe stands as pillar of hope in divided world

The world continues to face crisis after crisis. The American-Soviet War brought an end to the bipolar balance of power, and ever since then the multipolar global political landscape has continued to grow more and more unstable. There have been only two bright points since the 1980s; the European Federation, and the actions of the French Sixth Republic acting as the World Policeman - the later is dying as we speak in the sands of Nigeria, and the former was split apart by the Yugoslav War.

There is hope however; the DEU. Only together can Europe continue to endure. The North Americans have embraced the South, despite the barbaric actions taken by them against Europe in Poland and elsewhere. Japan has returned to imperialism after an armed coup, and while their policies remain unclear at this time it should be expected that their 'reset' of relations across the globe has come as an unexpected act of authoritarianism which will have major repercussions around the world.

Europe has long suffered. Within the 20th century it survived two World Wars as well as the American-Soviet Crisis, while in more recent times saw conflict in Iberia in the 2000s and two wars in Poland. In spite of it all, the cultures and peoples of the continent have remained strong. The evil forces of fascism, communism, and totalitarianism have been fought off again and again. Now however, with the rest of the world gripped by ultra-nationalism, we must work together as a continent to secure ourselves against the latest threat to stability and peace.

Sanarov Denies Magellan Claims of FSR Terrorist Attacks

Today, Andean president Viviana Sanarov denied the Magellan claims that the FSR was behind the recent terrorist attacks which occurred in Magella. Sanarov then proceded to call the accusations slanderous and anti-FSR propaganda. Following that, the Andean president openly doubted whether the Magellan government would be able to back up their claims, and called for them to release public information regarding the terrorists, even going as far to demand them to show the "captured" FSR "terrorists."

It's currently unknown how the Magellan government would respond to Sanarov's claims that the evidence against the FSR is "baseless" and "forged," but its expected that there will be strained diplomatic relations afterward regardless of how this turns out.

Similarly, the FSR Pepples Assembly unanimously denounced the Italian action of detaining all FSR citizens.

Empire Begins to Sever Diplomatic Ties

With the Empire of Japan switching to an isolationist nation, the Empire has begun ending its relations with international bodies and has begun reviewing the process to exit several other organizations. Today was the first step in severing these ties as the Emperor announced that Japan would be ending its membership with the Alliance of Northern Nations, an alliance of Nations in the northern Hemisphere. The Emperor stated the following:

....This Alliance of Northern Nations has no benefits for the Empire at this time and as such we will no longer be a part of an alliance that has no direct benefit for the people of Japan. We are also considering ceasing our membership with the Council of Sovereign Nations following their abysmal campaign in Nigeria and their failure to enforce international law on multiple occasions. Japan does not want to be part of an organization of this kind. Lastly, Japan is considering dissolving the Alliance of Pacific Nations as the organization has been unable to resolve any conflicts in the Pacific and is unable to function properly. While the CSN and APN Memberships are still active for now, out alliance withe the ANN is over.

Spaceport Established

Following the re-consolidation of Japan's space assets, the Osaka Spaceport has been established. The spaceport consists of the three landing platforms, five runways, and the Osaka Space Center. Plans have been made to expand this Spaceport to ten launchpad as well as a rocket factory, a cargo loading zone, and a R&D Site. The Imperial Space Agency (ISA) has been given 10% of the budget to expand Japan's space assets and improve the existing ones. These plans include for a new shuttle, an improved space gun, and a fully re-usable rocket system on land and a orbital station. The Emperor and the Diet have both been very supportive of space exploration and have pledged their support to seeing Japan become a major power in the final frontier.

Marianas Expedition Launched

The first Imperial Authorization for Scientific Exploration was given yesterday to the crew of the SV Benchā to begin a scientific survey of the Marianas Trench. The project, first proposed in early 2019, wants to use advanced hydrophones to get the most detailed view of the trench to date and deploy a series of drones and three small submarines to explore the possibility of life in the deepest place on earth. While past expeditions have yielded little in the results of life, this expedition will be specifically searching for deep sea organisms and environments. The Emperor, a avid scientist himself, has personally approved the mission and has provided it with government funding. The expedition is expected to begin some time in the next few days.

ASC-Korea Deal

Concept of Korean Bullet Train

Today Korea and the American Shipping Company signed an agreement, marking the start of cooperation between the two entities. The ASC agreed to build a highspeed rail connecting the cities of Pyongyang, Seoul, and Busan. The rail will be built for speed and power-saving efficiency in mind and would allow trains to carry cargo and passengers at speeds up to 250 kilometers per hour. For payment, the Korean government took a 7 billion dollar loan from the FSR, which would be charged at 2% annual interest rate.

In addition, the ASC agreed to invest 25 billion dollars towards Korean companies in exchange for equity. The fund would be passively managed and would see an emphasis on growing Korean sectors. Mining especially was expected to yield high returns as the lesser developed Northern Korea grows to take advantage of its mineral deposits, which also aid with local infrastructure.

In exchange, the ASC was given the role as Korea's sole freight transport service. Currently, the ASC and Korean authorities are moving to make the transition as smooth as possible. The ASC has promised that prices wouldn't be affected by the deal. Furthermore, the ASC announced that it had a commitment towards quality, including efficient intermodal freight and overnight and door-to-door shipping.

In related news, in a move which many believe is linked to the ASC-Korea deal, Korea and the FSR announced an agreement to increase trade and mutual economic cooperation. Although the deal hasn't been finalized yet, it's likely that the deal will see the rise of greater trade between East Asia and the Americas which recently plummeted after the former Japanese government was overthrown.

Italy refuses to attend Saigon Summit

Host: "The Saigon Summit is underway already, with world leaders coming from around the globe to join in one of the most important diplomatic meetings in our time. From South America, we have President Castillo, and President Medina, from the FSR there is newly elected leader Vivian Sanarov, with other aides. From Europe, the usual customers; France, Germany, the ADE, but a key player in the recent events in the Caribbean is missing; Italy. The Bolivarian Republic has continually rejected the proposal that vandalised their previous Caribbean Peace Accords proposal, which was supposed to bring lasting peace to the Caribbean. The new Caribbean Peace Accords, in the eyes of South America, is a politically motivated attack dog for the European super-majority, which controls the organs of the CSN. The Bolivarian Republic has denounced the illegal strangle-hold that the imperialist bloc has on the CSN, and therefore in turn it uses its power to demand unreasonable and destabilising measures. There the question lies; is it such a big deal that Puertollano would reject the Italian 'Peace' Accords? Why would Puertollano abide by a proposal that blatantly condemns them for the liberation of the Caribbean? Magellan Mining Companies Expand Abroad!

In an effort to assist the development of the Zackarothian African Commonwealth, the Zackrothian government recently allowed many Magellan cooperatives to begin operations in the ZAC. The ZAC has a wide variety of mineral resources across its large land area, and Magellan has many cooperatives willing to expand there.

Among other chemical coops, SQM will search for kaolin and sodium carbonate in Ethiopia, sodium carbonate in Kenya, and gypsum in Somalia. CODELCO and other mineral mining coops, including Magella's many gold mining coops, will search for copper in Somalia, and gold in almost every state of the ZAC. Iron ore mining coops such as Andes Iron and CAP will work on iron in Ethiopia, and iron and tin in Somalia.

Currently, these coops are simply sending experts to search for deposits, which the ZAC has a variety of, and determining their viability. Upon finding them, the deposits will be bought by the coops and they will begin mining operations. The mining will likely be done by wholly-owned subsidiaries, employing primarily Akksumite workers. Should the mineral deposits be large enough, it is likely that some refineries will be built as well, decreasing unemployment further. These are some of the best mining companies in the world, and have ample supplies to work with.

Investigation Clarifies Additional Information

Just recently, once of the FSR's leaders attempted to claim they were not involved in the horrific terrorist attacks that took place in Magella, while simultaneously implying the investigators were lying and falsifying evidence. This was met with widespread backlash, with many feeling the FSR had proven its guilt through its seemingly defensive statements, and that it was trying to cover up involvement by discrediting the investigation.

Still, the investigators were quick to provide evidence, declassifying "as much as possible for the moment." They revealed that the terrorists were not found to be Magellan citizens, and that there was no record of them in any Magellan database. Thus, they had to come from abroad. None carried any identifiers on their persons; however, in the house from which they were operating, various weapons of Orostani design were found, including guns and bombs.

President Salamanca called Savnarov a "selfish madman" with "no interest for the truth, nor care for the loss of life." She then went on to say, "The truth will shine a light on everything the FSR is attempting to hide, Mr. Savnarov."

CANBERRA - The Australian Legislature House recently called for a meeting regarding the imposition of embargoes on a select country. This comes after several terrorist attacks and inconclusive investigations have wrecked Nigeria and South America. This crises have been ultimately linked to key economic and military allies such as the Federation of Socialist Republics and Italy, although there is said to be a list of other nations that are keys of interest.

It is not yet clearly stated whether the country will go on a full embargo or whether it will even include multiple countries. One thing is for sure, it is that this will seriously disturb the country's definitive stance on being neutral at all times, not to mention how it will affect the country's burgeoning economy. Australia heavily relies on international trade, its several trade zones and manufacturing bases in China and Europe in the form of factories and shipyards that produce consumer goods,electronics, planes and ships.

Several business groups have already come out, notably AusGroup corporations, stating that such imposition of an embargo favors neither side and that a direct result will be the loss of further business with foreign markets. Empire Prepares to Embargo the FSR

Following the terror attacks in the Magellan Republic the Empire has released this statement following the Embargo by Australia and the findings by the Republic:

....due to the recent terrorist attacks in the Magellan Republic, the Empire of Japan is putting legislation through the Diet to suspend trade relations with the FSR. While the Empire currently does not trade with them, this legislation would ban any vessel from carrying goods to or from the FSR or a vessel flying a trade flag associated with the FSR to enter or trade with Japanese ports. While the FSR government has officially denied involvement in the attack the Empire finds it hard to believe that they did not play a part in such a complex attack with the use of sophisticated and high grade weapons. This is furthered by the fact that they are unsuppostive of the recent regime change in Magella and at times hostile. Japan does not wish to have any relations with a nation that conducts itself in such a way.

While the evidence against the FSR is in question, the Japanese Diet is expecting the bill to pass before becoming an Imperial backed Bill.

Military Budget Announced

Following the regime change a new military budget has been announced. With 1.25 Trillion (50%) from the budget now given to the military the armed forces are set to undergo a massive upgrade and increase in forces. The Air Force is looking to phase out the older F-2 and F-16 with the newer F-3 Orient to bolster the Air Force's aerial superiority within the Pacific. The Air Force also wants to triple it maritime patrol craft, invest in a new heavy bomber, and possibly establish a ballistic missile system with its budget of 250 billion. The Army will be joining them as well in terms of upgrades and increases. The Imperial Army is expecting to increase its overall armored vehicle count, particularly the MLRS units, and start phasing in the new weapons currently being developed by Project Lancer specifically the new electric weapons. The army also is expected to field the Type 12 MBT following the announcement of so many new tanks entering the world stage. The army is also getting 250 billion to upgrade the force.

The remaining 750 Billion Yen is going to the Naval budget. Much of this is going to Project Shogun (currently the details are unknown) and to the vessels and technologies found in Project Lancer, but at least 400 Billion is directly going to the Navy itself. Three new aircraft carriers, two submarine carriers, four submarine escort carriers, seven submarine cruisers, nine heavy attack submarines, ten attack submarines, and nine assault submarines have been ordered with an additional 200 subfighters being constructed to fill these carriers. The Navy has stated that it will be expanding the surface fleet as well with destroyers now being considered for modernization and a new design in the works from JMU. The Navy could possibly field the largest fleet in the Pacific by 2025 should these increases continue.

Marianas Expedition Bears Fruit

Yesterday the crew of the SV Benchā began their scientific survey of the Marianas Trench, the deepest location on earth. While the first few surveys are just to fully examine the southern arm of the Trench where it connects with the Yap Trench the team has so far made several discoveries. The scans reveal the wrecks of two or three ships, highly compressed by the water pressure and several unknown spire-like objects observed via the hydrophone arrays. The Drone submarines were then sent in next and began to take water samples at various depths to determine factors like salinity and temperature. The most recent survey sent the manned submarine RV Echi-Go to a depth of 15,000 feet. While there the crew of the submarine observed a new type of ameba that was 5 inches in diameter, similar to those already found in the trench. The creature was put into a pressurized and temperature controlled capsule and brought to the surface to be analyzed and identified.

Magella has repeatedly accused the Federation of Socialist Republics of conducting terrorist activities. Their evidence is nothing but lies, as this article will set out to prove. Firstly, they fail to understand that the Federation Special Services Division (FSSD) does not issue cyanide pills or any other means of suicide other than a gun to agents. Secondly, the Federation of Socialist Republics would make no effort to destabilize Magella under a Federation flag. Such actions would only help the propogandists in Santiago. Thirdly, the Federation has better things to do then to bring traitors to justice. The men in Santiago fought the law of the Federation, they only got what was coming to them. It is no surprise that nationalist elements within Magella see now as a proper time to establish their dictatorship. The Magellan claim that the FSR hosted the website of Magellan nationalists is entirely false and baseless. In fact, the FSSD conducted their own research on the Magellan claim. What they found was that the website was formerly hosted on a fishing trawler operating out of Chile, and that this ship was raided by Magellan police and scuttled. This was not reported in Magellan newspapers. The Magellan claims are just claims with no evidence behind them at all. Despite this paper's best efforts we have yet to find one single crime that the FSR has committed.

HIGASHI WINS OROSTANI ELECTIONS

Julio Higashi has predictably won the elections in Orostan for executive council. Most of his support comes from the industrial and agricultural regions of Orostan, to which he has promised economic expansion on the scale of the 1930s USSR. He won the Orostani elections by 62% of the vote with a 85% turn out. 85% is considered low turn out in Orostan, and was likely because Higashi voters felt voting unnecessary because he'd win the election anyway, and oppositionists did not vote because of most parties refusal to recognize the Orostani system. The Social Democrats are the only opposition party that recognizes the Orostani system as legitimate. Higashi's first action in office was to formally thank Lula for his service, and to begin drafting legislation to reform the government. He also commented that Federation nuclear operations will take "A much larger character" to reporters.

The crew of the SV Benchā made a startling discovery today as they stumbled upon a brand new biome in the deep sea. For centuries it has been thought that no life existed at the bottom of the Marianas Trench other then microbes and a few soft bodied organisms. The submarine RV Echi-Go disproved this theory when it stumbled on a thriving ecosystem unlike anything seen before at a depth of 27,000 feet 200 miles north of the island of Yap. In an area with no light beneath the crushing depth of 820 atmospheres of pressure life has not only survived, but thrived. A collection of hydro-thermal vents ringed around a dip in the trench has created a almost shielded area that has an average temperature of 87 Degrees Fahrenheit with the temperature exceeding 140 degrees around the ring. Due to the submersible finding this location at the end of its 12 hour mission the team was only able to spend 25 minutes in this environment but in that time they cataloged over a dozen new species never seen before.

This discovery has caused a massive stir in the scientific community and images from the Echi-Go are now becoming headlines on the internet. The images show a large amount of organisms using bioluminescence and large soft bodied organisms and corals inside the ring area while a new species of tube worm appears to be thriving around the vents. The team has not yet named the location or the type of biome the area will be identified as, but the only thing that is certain is that this location is a likely the only one of its kind. The team plans to launch a full exploration of the region starting tomorrow using every piece of equipment it has at its disposal to understand how life has existed in a location like this. The Emperor of Japan has put an additional request for funding to the Japanese Diet to fully explore this region and has set in a request to make the area a Marine Sanctuary.

With 500 Billion in the 2020 budget going to the Imperial Space Agency and outspoken support from the government and population, Japan is set to tackle the final frontier. While the Orbanis administration had done well in securing launch sites and establishing an R&D division there were no major launches save a few research and communications satellites. The administration planned to launch a space station into orbit and it had all of the parts for the station, it just never got off the ground. Now, after two years of sitting in storage, the space station is becoming a reality. At 1200 local time five launchpads across Japan launched five segments of Japan's first space station into orbit. Alongside this launch was the constant firing of the space gun in Osaka, sending supplies and other materials into orbit between 1200 and 1230. At 1247 all modules and station parts had been confirmed to enter orbit intact and began using vectored thrust controlled remotely via the Osaka Space Center to confirm full movement control. At 1532 Unit 2 and Unit 3 successfully linked together in High Earth Orbit shortly followed by Unit 1 and Unit 5 at 1538. At 1559 the pieced from the Space Gun began to link themselves onto the station via magnetic locks and bolting mechanisms. Finally at 1621 the Unit 5 module liked with the rest of the station, completing it.

However, not all went according to plan. 8 of the 32 space gun launched segments had partial locking failures and one of the modules only has a partial seal on the rest of the station. Unit 3 did not properly inflate and the life support system for the station is not coming online. Fortunately most of the other systems operated according to plan. The station's inflatable habitat ring from Units 5 and 4 was successfully deployed and the station's solar array and communications are operational. While it was not the cleanest launch, it was largely successful. Japan is planing on launching a manned rocket to have astronauts repair the station and get it up and running. The Station will be designated at Heaven One and is set to act as a orbital observatory, refueling port, and science lab. The ISP has stated that additional segments will be added to the station to give it a larger fuel reserve, additional scientific instruments, and a deep space observatory sometime in the future.

Something Just Doesn't Make Sense About The Magellan Accusations

A while back ago the Magellan investigation released further evidence regarding the FSR's role regarding the terrorist attacks which happened in Magella. Unsurprisingly, the FSR's government continues to deny any involvement with the attacks. However, a closer look shows that there are several things that just don't make sense with the evidence the Magellan investigation provided.

It's within the interest of the Magellan investigation team to release the information they have gathered so far, after all since they had captured the terrorists themselves this would undeniably prove that the FSR was behind this. However, the Magellan investigation team have insisted on keeping information classified. While they did release this information, notice that this evidence can't be verified because they haven't actually shown any proof:

"[The] terrorists were not found to be Magellan citizens, and that there was no record of them in any Magellan database. Thus, they had to come from abroad. None carried any identifiers on their persons; however, in the house from which they were operating, various weapons of Orostani design were found, including guns and bombs."

What exactly makes this any different than me claiming that I have proof that my neighbor is a serial killer, but then refusing from giving it out? The Magellan investigation team insists that its "declassifying" information as much as possible for the moment. However, that brings to the question why exactly makes the information so important that it can't be shown at the moment? Wouldn't it be easier to cooperate with the international community to show that it was the FSR behind all the actions?

There's also something else that doesn't make any sense at all. Prior, the investigation team has claimed that they checked that the website which the terrorists operated and that it's code was written in Interlingua. It's not. Although the website is no longer up, you can still check it by yourself on various websites it has been archived in such as "The Internet Archive" and more. Nothing else other than a regular web browser is needed to check the code by yourself. How an intelligence service could have made such a colossal mistake is hard to tell, and that brings into question the rest of their claims. It's quite obvious that they made up the claims about the website being coded in Interlingua, could it be possible that they lied about other stuff too?

Magellan claims over terrorist incident debunked!

"Now with more recent news of the day; the leadership of the Magellan government have been exposed. Conveniently, these supposed 'FSR Terrorists' were the stereotype of every Orostani citizen, even more conveniently, they were brandishing weapons made in the FSR! They're either the dumbest terrorists in the game, or they were a caricature created my the Magellan intelligence services to deceive South America and the international community. I'd like to remind the audience that this wasn't the first of its' kind; do you remember Poland? In an attempt to keep control over its lasting pockets of land, the old Poland Government attempted to frame the Worker's Front of Calindelo for the killing of a businessman. It was quickly and easily debunked as a fraud, as it was a war-time effort to slander the efforts of the WFC. Is there any doubt that the enemies of the South American Bloc are going to frame us for something we had no role in committing?

These are the fundamental questions that Magella cannot answer. That's why, despite them announcing they will 'declassify' the information, nothing has been declassified. The Magellan authorities have already been proven as liars, and you, people at home, can see their blatant record of slander. They claim that the websites these 'FSR' terrorists use were in Interlingua, but if you use internet tools to look back at the page, none of it is in Interlingua! What can we make of this; well for one, the Magellan investigation team lied to the international community, second, what competent terrorist uses the language that can easily be traced back to the FSR. What is most concerning is that the people of Magella and Europe are buying this propaganda. This is a call to the reasonable people of this world, how can you not see that this investigation has the stench of lies and corruption?

You may be asking, what does Magella have to gain from scapegoating and race-bating the people of the FSR? My answer is, look at what's happening. Due to this so-called 'FSR' terrorist attack, Magella has cracked down on the FSR-people in their nation, closing the borders, militarising the seas, readying the nation for another war. Most disconcertingly, they've used this opportunity of anger and dislike for the FSR to ban, censor material critical of the government. Therefore following in the footsteps of Italy, who decide which news their people should be listening or watching. The Magellan Government is insecure, that's why it must now censor critical opinions, critical of the imperial war-machine. We're still unaware if this censor includes TeleSur, but it wouldn't be the first time we've been targeted like this. What's important to remember is that Italy was part of these investigations, proving that they too are collaborating in this anti-socialist tirade. Yet, they still continue to claim they have the moralistic position in the Caribbean.

So let's look at the implications for the Federation of Nativist Islands. What incentive do they have to vote to remain the colony of Italy, after lying about the internet site, and creating a blatantly false narrative about the tanks. The answer is: none. The longer they interfere in the domestic life of South America, the longer they continue to dig their own grave. Keeping digging Italy. Keep digging. Every moment you exist on this continent, you only hurt your image, because you cannot but help to lie to South America and commit war-crimes on a daily basis. And Magella, expanding its operations into the Zackarothian African Commonwealth, we're waiting for their investments to be barred. Lying like this is an upmost disrespectful attack against the integrity of truth in the international community. The High Leader of Zackaroth should be appalled by these falsifications and reject European-puppeteer influence in Africa.

| Exploring the Trench |

Further exploration has continued of the new ecosystem found in the depths of the Marianas Trench. The SV Benchā has gone over the area in detail over the last four days using hydrophones and the crew has discovered that the basin, now named as the Imperial Basin in thanks for the Emperor's support, has a distance of 44 miles in diameter. The area's relatively high heat level is due to a combination of the water pressure and an even distribution of hydrothermal vents surrounding the basin and a few dotted inside it. The average temperature for the area is estimated to be around 85.6 Degrees Fahrenheit. The SV Benchā has currently mapped 56% of the basin at a resolution of 100 square meters. So far spires, rims, and several caves have been observed as well as a strange feedback that the team is till interpreting.

While the surface team has been scanning for underwater geology the submarines have been busy exploring the biology of the region. So far there have been at least fifty-two new species sighted and 95% of them have bioluminescent traits. While there is no plant life, several species of sponges, soft coral, and, surprising to all scientist, hard coral which was though to be unable to preserve in these conditions. One of the more interesting corals is whats is being called the Angler Coral which is a coral that anchors itself to the bottom and is made up of several branch with a glowing bulb at each tip. Corals, amoebas, jellyfish, and several other organism have been sampled an are being brought back with the research team to be evaluated. The team is expecting very interesting results since none of these organisms exist using conventional means.

The Abyss Naval Station launched a new warship today that is the first of both its kind and class, the IJN Mikasa. The Mikasa is a submarine that is currently the most heavily armed vessel of her size and relied more on torpedoes and direct defense systems then subfighters to combat enemy craft. The ship has been confirmed to weigh over 34,000 tons and measure over 750 feet in length. The hull is apparently of a new design that is an advanced version of the current pocketed hull system though no details are currently known. The vessel boasts the first 24 inch torpedoes tubes in existence as well as additional RTS tubes. Additionally there are two areas that have been designated as 'weapons bays' but there has been no clarification on what exactly this means. The most interesting thing about this ship has been the new engine design which is based on the exterior of the ship's dorsal side and consists of two long tubes. No details have been released about this engine other then it is a prototype and could be introduced to the rest of the fleet 'shortly'. The ship is expected to undergo testing and trial maneuvers off the coast of Okinawa for the next few days.

A team of astronauts in Japan's first spacecraft, the capsule Fuji, were launched from the Osaka Space Center early this morning and successfully entered orbit of the Heaven One Space Station at 1027. The crew was able to fix most of the issues on the station except several of the interlocking segments. The space gun will be firing replacements into orbit tomorrow as soon as they get the right materials. With the station inflated, 96% of integrity activated, and all systems fully online the astronauts and ground control gave the station their approval for habitation. The three astronauts currency in orbit will remain there for the next three months conducting maintenance, system tests, and station performance under different conditions. In July a team of four more astronauts will be sent up to relieve the current team and begin scientific research. The main goal of the station is to develop a better understanding of achieving 1G in space and to determine optimal launch dates for the station and Osaka. A small hydroponics bay has also been installed to asses the viability of growing food in space.
