Palaurayan Government Officially Labels Glosslan As Authoritarian

Earlier today, the Palaurayan Department of Foreign Affairs released a statement saying Glosslan has been officially labeled as Authoritarian. This decision came at no surprise by us at the Jakarta Times as they have already condemned Glosslan and demanded they become democratic. This action is significant because it adds to the tension already harbored between the two countries. President Ibrahim Rahayu still urges the Glosslanian government to make the switch to a democratic system. Only time will tell what happens next.

CLASSIFIED

Location: Karlston Air Force Base (Zone 01), Prince Edward Island
Tenth of May 1980

The P6M Seamaster was in the waters off Zone 01. At the control tower, formalities were ignored. All the operators had been told was that this was Classified One-B, second highest level. Likely orders of the President or Chief of Air Force. The lower echelons of Base staff had noticed that a civilian had been on site recently, maybe multiple, apparently representing the Norman-Portland Corporation. Everybody at the base from the island would know what that is. The Company that owns the island, and as the staff joked, they had finally come to own this place. The Seamaster's cargo was apparently classified, and boats sailed out to collect it. A controller in the tower, the young Nathan Doyle, watched the plane carefully. He noticed a familiar face on the cargo hull ramp. Someone he hadn't met, but someone he had seen before....wearing a suit, speaking to a fellow suited person, the contractor from Norman-Portland. Doyle looked through binoculars and saw Richard Walterrson, President of the Eudocian Republic.

Walterrson was speaking to John Jakob Verdine, Executive Vice-Chairman of Norman-Portland. "
"Where exactly are they going from here, John?" asked the President.
"We have been forced to re-direct our destination from Yarmouth to Portland. This will have some....complications, but the operation shall run smoothly, Mr. President." replied Verdine.
"Will this mean greater presence of police? More threats? Failure is not an option, John"
"The operation shall run smoothly. The run smoothly." said John, watching the highly secure boxes being carefully placed in boats.
"I hope it does. Why exactly must you re-direct"?
"I don't know. It's Air Force Spec Ops that's made the decision. 24th Air Force is in charge of the operation alongside you and me."
The President nodded, and said no more as he returned to the hull of the Seasmaster to inspect the last of the cargo being shipped off. Lowly Norman-Portland workers saluted and said "Mr. President, sir" or the likes and eventually the boats were full. The journey would continue without the President. He took a boat towards the Air Force Base, where he was escorted via Air Force Silver Caravan to {{REDACTED}} in the state of {{DATA EXPUNGED}}. The P6M's cargo too went to a new destination.

Formation of the WETC (Western European Trade Community)

Representatives from Besgaria, the Norman State and Clanzia have been engaged in various meetings to discuss the possibility of a new alliance, after the failure of the Barcelona Treaty Organisation. The alliance would secure trade between countries, and not seek to aggrivate the world like the BTO did. As such, the Western European Trade Community was formed.

The pact contains, as of current, 3 member nations; Besgaria, the Norman State and Clanzia. The pact aims to do three main things:
Standardise free trade between the nations
•Promote economic growth by prioritising trade with other member nations
•Create a more strong and secure European economy

The WETC also means Besgaria's de facto leaving of the BTO.

The WETC will create a stronger and more united Europe. We look forward to the results and to working with Clanzia and the Norman State.

Monthly Shareholder Letter - May 1980.

Fertiliser products, plant expansion

Tata Chemicals is proud to announce the addition of multiple new and exciting fertiliser products to our current range of outstanding, high quality, affordable products. The new fertiliser types which will now be for sale are paras-urea, sodium tripolyphosphate, di-ammonium phosphate NPK complexes, and single superphosphate. We plan to sell these fertiliser products in the largest agriculture regions of Panjal, and will begin a marketing campaign of handing out small samples of the products for farmers to use.

Along with these fertilisers, Tata Chemicals will also be beginning construction planning on a new mid-size chemical plant in Nanded, Maharashtra. The plant plans to produce soda ash, cement, salt, fertilisers, and other small-scale chemicals. Estimated completion date for the plant is June, 1983.

After the tense situation on the Swiss-Union border, the Council considered the end of the state of emergency announced at the beginning of the year to be possible and with this the end of the period of immunity of the HC Piazza. After the recent confrontations between Piazza and the Guild of industrialists, the Council finally decided unanimously to relieve the politician from his post. Roberto Foglia, a member of the council chosen in this delicate political moment for his impartiality, will take the place. The first choice of the newly elected leader is the announced exit from the BTO, with the immediate signing of the WETC.

The idea of Federico (Piazza, nbc) to enter the BTO was not wrong, he simply did not consider well how other members would have influenced our relations with business partners in the world. We have therefore felt the need to move away as much as possible from the recent actions of the state of Prisalia.

Another important diplomatic action carried out by the new Councilor is the official denunciation of the aggressive actions of the New Burgundian Reich against the state of New Mengel, with Foglia's request to meet the Prime Minister of the country to discuss future relations between the two countries.

      Gary Confederation Embargoes Eudocia

      Image
      Premier Yap Demarkus.

The Garie Confederation finalized voting on a potential Eudocia Embargo earlier this evening. The highly controversial policy passed with a slim majority after nationalist lobbies pressured senators to back it. Eudocia recently denounced the Confederation, claimed it's Southeast territories, and compared it to the failed fascist regimes in Africa. Premier Demarkus took advantage of the national outrage to push the embargo into the senate.

The Garie Confederation is the second largest importer of Eudocian goods. Financial consultants have urged congress to reconsider the embargo in fear of an import shortage. Premier Demarkus has tried to assuage their concerns by stating that,"the Vanavoians are more than capable of meeting our import demands. Their higher standards of quality control put the Eudocian manufacturers to shame."

EUDOCIA TODAYImage
JUNE 4th 1980

GARIE FEDERATION PASSES EMBARGO, EUDOCIA REACTS

After many from the Eudocian Government denounced the socialist, barbarian Garie Federation, the country has placed embargoes on Eudocian business, threatening for our economy but more theirs, because we are one of responsible for most of their imports. The Premier of the Federation has been called a "gang boy" by the President, a "homie-prez" by the Secretary of Social Management, and a "wild dog" by Chief of Staff. Alcoa Corporation has made explicit denounciations, now comparing Garie to the fallen socialist "shithole" of Alexandria, as Alcoa had economic interests in the Garie Federation. But the hatred from Eudocia was only the beginning. On June 2nd, a build-up of troops and tanks began on the Southern border. Exercises have been done in the Northern bases, and all government officials, when questioned by our journalists, said something along the lines of "war is a last resort" or "conflict will commence if Garie concludes that the best course of action is to ignore Eudocian demands and interests, and insult us", speaking verbatem to President Walterrson.

Could war happen soon? At this point it's a worrying possibility. Garie is already collapsing slowly, already taking economic flak from their decision to Embargo the Eudocian Republic, meaning that the government may see an opportunity to cease rightful Eudocian lands in the former states of Cheaspeake, Potamaca, and Virginia, held by the Garie Federation for a long time now. The Eudocian Republic has now taken a hostile stance towards Garie, and is likely prepared for war. JPMorgan & Chase has stated to the Board that the company has been "de-interested" in the Garie Federation, which will warrant the full wrath of the company, that has stated they plan to financially choke Garie. Other Eudocian companies have joined in this "economic revenge-torture" on Garie, and the government and even NIO are said to be cooperating. Hopes are that if not war, Garie will collapse and Eudocia will move in the reclaim their territories and bring Garie under a new government. The Press Secretary has said that "bringing down Garie is now a priority".

Thank you for reading EUDOCIA TODAY, proudly sponsored by JPMorgan&ChaseTM

Dubois, Mersault Make Demands to Central Africa

Premier Minister Dubois has taken actions to enforce a yet stronger stance on Africa. Today the Foreign Minister and Premier Minister penned a letter to the governments of Punufang and K'tuuj, included in the letter were a series of demands. According to an anonymous source from within the Dubois administration, Dubois is demanding that the african states increase their exports of minerals and metals to the Norman State, and open themselves up to foreign diplomacy. Dubois' administration has been scrambling to secure greater resources for the nation's industry following embargoes from Sudafrika. Dubois' administration has also come under pressure from his own party, for his reluctance to accept a potential military resolution to the issue.

Relations with Punufang have been stiff since the nation's decolonization in the 1930's. Punufang's government has a reputation in the Norman State for corruption, as Foreign Minister Mersault put in a morning press conference:
"Punufang's government has hardly worked to serve their populace. Past administrations have tried reconciliation with these under-performing African states and some prior effort have failed both our people and the people of Africa. We will not forsake our values and our priorities, and our nation shall not fail again."

African trade has become a contentious political issue for the Norman State. Many leftist parties disavowed the earlier military exercises in Tuareg, with some in the National Assembly calling it "posturing". According the recent military reports on our activities with our African allies, our aircraft carrier group is still at sea near Western Africa. Their stated mission? Protecting Norman trade, and training our allied African troops. Some of our military analysts have suggested that Dubois might seriously consider a military resolution if tensions in Africa cannot be resolved.

Global Security: Africa

Besgaria, as a free and democratic nation of the world, has an obligation to protect the world from tyranny. This is why Parliament has voted 430 - 70 in favour of intervening in Western Africa, a particularly tyrannical region. We will be supporting the Norman State with their endeavour against Punu-Fang should they need to intervene with force. Freedom II and the Atlantic Fleet are en route to link up with Norman forces should this occur.

Teach for Panjal

The Department of National Development is proud to announce it's next big campaign - "Teach for Panjal," a project which aims to bring quality learning opportunities to all citizens of Panjal, young and old, through the help of both the international and national education communities. The campaign is starting out by inviting fantastic countries all over the world to offer their teachers and skilled tradesmen the opportunity to come to Panjal for one year, all expenses paid for through the Department of National Development and its supporters. Once in Panjal, these volunteers will be assigned to villages, cities, and schools across Panjal, where they will teach their knowledge and skills to all Panjali citizens, young and old.

The Department of National Development's goal of bringing quality education to all Panjali citizens is a lofty one, and will require the full commitment of thousands of individuals. But with the help of the international community, we believe this goal can be achieved.

Office of the Chancellor

June 14, 1980

Open Letter to the His Majesty the King of Ouch!

Your Majesty Chad V, King of Ouch! and Brotherly Comrade of the African People,

I have greatly enjoyed our meetings over the past weeks, where we have made productive developments and agreements between our two countries. I appreciate the fantastic relations that our governments and people enjoy with each other, and the common history that we share.

The decades-old special relationship between our Union and Your Majesty's Kingdom has culminated into something truly special and unique. I am glad that we have agreed on several important plans and projects which will continue to improve this wonderful friendship we have.

I can assure Your Majesty that the international community appreciates your most recent measure to standardize the name of Your Majesty's Kingdom in APSIA documents. We appreciate the unique name of Ouch! and your changing of the name in official international documents from Ouch! to Yuchk, a name which will ease the burden placed on technology and other things.

I also appreciate the new agreement we have made for several Neuburger corporations, including BMW, Glock, and Red Bull, to purchase your country's debt. With the government of Your Majesty's Kingdom being liberated from the debt of neo-colonialist oppressors, the nation will be able to grow to new potentials.

New Neuburger investments, combined with the collective will of Your Majesty's subjects, will develop new agriculture, infrastructure, and jobs for the millions of people within. Your Majesty's Kingdom has the great potential to inherit the legacy of the Saharan trade empires of old, becoming the nexus for trade and culture on Your Majesty's continent.

Finally, I hope Your Majesty appreciates the various gifts that we have given, which Your Majesty has already familiarized yourself with.

I look forward to continue working together. Long live Neuburg – Yuchk (Ouch!) alliance and eternal brotherly friendship!

      Eudocian Firms, State Declared "Bust"

After a shocking display of preferential treatment, public economic warfare, and open willingness to be subservient to the whims of their government, the Top 100 Stocks in Eudocia have fallen over 11% as foreign investors abandon ship. JP Morgan Chase was hit particularly hard these past two weeks as customers and shareholders alike began to bail.

Former Board member Daniel Becerra stated, "Any financial institution that just cease service on a national level, with no warnings, no replacement, and no compensation to shareholders is beyond dangerous and should be globally delisted from any exchange."

The unhinged threats, insults, and troop mobilizations by the Eudocian government have also led to a general feeling of volatility in the nation's markets. The Macau Institute of Finance has predicted a possible 5% loss in GDP by Q4 should the status quo continue.

K'tuuj Accedes - Dubois Wants To Discuss Basing Rights

Dubois' gamble appears to be a partial success; K'tuuj will more than double their exports of oil and petroleum, cobalt, nickle, and several foodstuffs (such as coffee). In return for the resources the Norman State will be providing K'tuuj with shipments of modern military equipment, many of these weapons will be produced by GIAT Industries. For the time being, the trade will be facilitated by merchants from B'rk, but Foreign Minister Mersault said that he will try to pursue the option of Norman basing rights and direct trade. The Cabinet has not yet released more information.

The Premier Minister was praised by members of the ruling coalition and several of Normandy's leading industrial groups, who carry concerns about a lack of natural resources due to Sudafrikan embargoes. The African resources will help ease the burden forced on Norman industry by the Sudafrikans, who have drawn the ire of the entire WETC, The government has said it will continue to expand its influence in Central Africa, and will try to promote democracy in the area. Dubois expressed gratitude to our Besgarian allies, who offered their assistance and support.

The move has prompted some distress among the leftist opposition, the socialist Front Radical appears to be caught in an internal crisis over the move. Many oppose the actions taken by Dubois and the right, but others in the organization's grassroots, mostly trade unions and blue collar workers, see the move as helpful to saving their jobs. Some corporations have considered closing out certain manufacturing positions due to a lack of resources to continue such large-scale productions, and the recent news has many manufacturers looking optimistic. The FR has been wracked with political issues these last few months, especially after they failed to block the passage of revisions to the Labor Acts, meaning that workers can now be made to work longer hours.

Japanese Federation Announces "Full Cooperation" With Europe

Shortly after guaranteeing the security of the small kingdom of Punufang, key members of the Japanese Diet met with Norman and Besgarian politicians in order to settle any potential disputes over trade and "other matters" in the region. As far as we know, Japanese supremacy is still absolute in Africa, though European troops have conducted patrols this past week.

The governments of Sudafrika, Nigeria, New Burgundy, and New Memel have all issued stern warnings to the foreign powers. Chairman Michael Bigbosi of Nigeria expressed a desire to see, "African solutions for African problems." Though ideologically opposed and critical of Nigeria, "Uberkaiser" Utz Jonathan Rompa of Sudafrika echo'd the sentiments of the Chairman by urging solidarity between Africans (sans communists) in his recent televised speech.

The Lord of Wakastina was forced out of his hiding hole by Lt. Colonel Ruud Leijendekker's kill team. The Vanavoian trained veterans overwhelmed "Lord" Tubi and his escort at the "Lord's" private airfield. The warboys dragged the false monarch to the local town square and beheaded him publicly. The crowds, grateful to our Warboys, exploded in cheer and lavished the troops with gifts and praise.

Two Imperial Nederlands Regiments will be remaining in former Wakastina as King Zimbo XI (blessed be his name) prepares to parade in the new conquered territories. Economic Debates in the UFSCR

Recent economic policies implemented as a result of the 19th Five-Year Plan have created an opportunity to export surplus goods internationally. The previous 18th Five-Year Plan implemented an experimental system of distribution where goods were only produced on demand. The 19th Plan has reversed this decision and while before the 18th plan, surpluses were merely recycled and their materials used to produce new products. However, most of the Union’s economic advisors had pointed out and continue to point out that recycling surplus goods is terribly wasteful, reducing the potential for profit significantly. Economic advisors, not happy with the current system introduced in the 18th Plan either, have proposed that if surplus goods were sold abroad, economic growth could be much higher than it currently is. While this is the direction which most of the GUAP seems to be pushing towards, the CFSP, in traditional fashion, has opposed any such change, but with the upcoming general election on June 21st the CFSP may be facing a serious threat for the first time in its 50 year domination of USFCR politics.

CROWN PRINCE DIES, OTTO III FALLS INTO COMA, SUCCESSION CRISIS
Crown Prince Louis Ferdinand died in a horrifying car accident, and Otto III had a coma-inducing stroke an hour later

Munich - Crown Prince of Bavaria Louis Ferdinand, who recently succeeded his late uncle Karl Wilhelm as heir to the throne, has been pronounced dead after a terrifying fatal car crash. In what can only be seen as a string of bad luck for the royal family, Otto III had a stroke less than an hour later which resulted in him becoming comatose.

Police have ruled out foul play in the recently ascended Crown Prince's car crash, which resulted in the death of him, his wife, and his 3-year-old poodle. The Crown Prince's automobile, which he was driving a few miles outside of Munich, hit a pile of debris on the road and swerved into the concrete wall on the side of the road.
Image
The car was totaled and the Crown Prince was killed on impact

Nearly an hour after his nephew was pronounced dead, Otto III, the Emperor of Neuburg, King of Bavaria, etc., had a coma-inducing stroke, where he was pronounced unconscious. The monarch, who was reportedly modifying his will and testament before having the stroke, is still considered to be the head of state. He reportedly asked General Josef Gulyás, defense minister and close friend, to serve as regent in the event of incapacity, though the Congress of Deputies and Council of States would need to approve his role.

For the first time in centuries, succession to the throne is dubious, and nobody has a legitimate claim to succeed Otto III. The Crown Prince had no children as well as many other in his recent family. The Crown Prince had a younger sister, Elisabeth Maria, who will not inherit the throne due to the prohibition of females from taking the crown.

The other possible successor is Francis Alexander, who is Otto III's cousin. The 75-year-old Besgarian citizen has always distanced himself from Danubian affairs, and his father Heinrich Zvonomir was excluded from royal succession and stripped of titles in Bavaria after conversion to Lutheranism and moving to Besgaria in 1899. There is no law prohibiting the Grand Protector of the Union from being any other religion besides Catholic, although the Grand Protector is by default the King of Bavaria, who must be Catholic to take that title.

Additionally, the legality of Francis Alexander's claims to succession are dubious as well. Although his father was excluded from the line of succession, that did not immediately exclude his issue, despite their Lutheranism as well. If Francis Alexander were to convert to Catholicism, he could technically be re-introduced to the line of succession, but since the man has never even been to Neuburg in his 75 years, it's unlikely he would do so.

Regardless, with no legitimate successors to the throne, succession law will need to be updated or a coup or revolution would need to take place for either to take the throne. Until Otto III either dies or wakes from his coma, an interregnum has begun.

Supplies, Troops Arrive in K'tuuj, Further Diplomatic Efforts

Two days ago the military dropped off units of the 31st Infantry onto a temporary facility in K'tuuj, and the carrier group has split up, with the carrier and its corvettes sailing back to Normandy to bring more supplies and leadership. According to a press release from the Ministère des Armées, the current cite our troops are operating out of is a former catholic church, which has been used as a military base by local forces following the de-colonization of K'tuuj. The army has confirmed that plans for the permanent base are underway, but until that time our forces will be using the cite provided.

The military has also confirmed the formation of a new task group, equipped with land, air, and naval support, that will center around our mission in Africa. The Ministère des Armées also revealed that our troops could be supporting local military forces as early as next week. General Cuche, head of the Ministère des Armées, confirmed that the helicopter cruiser, Dijon, is remaining in port at Douala to help provide air support and transportation. The Cuche did not comment further on the mission, saying that "Our mission is at an early and critical stage, and we will not endanger that mission."

The Foreign Minister Mersault confirmed that his Foreign Ministery would be assisting in the project by applying diplomatic support, and pressure, wherever it was necessary to "...achieve a more stable and free K'tuuj." The Premier Minister has hailed the cooperative attitude of K'tuuj 's government. Dubois is set to speak before the National Assembly next week to brief them on the current state of affairs, and the African situation will be a critical element of that. Concurrently, the Front Radical has stated it will be staging a sit in during the Premier Minister's speech in protest of what they protest as "regressive policy choices" and (more informally) "piss-poor leadership". Several sit-ins have been held in the National Assembly before (the conservatives once held a 4-day long sit in during 1972), but this one is predicted to be particularly contentious.

Supreme Court rules in favour of Privacy; new corporate tax regime implemented.

After a legal battle to the limits of the absurd, Armando Brocchieri, an agent of the Reggio Fiscal Police, was arrested today on charges of violating the Privacy. Brocchieri had discovered that the funds on a Bing man's account came from the exploitation of underage girls, and he was about to send all the files of the case to the police in the country when he was blocked by one of his superiors claiming that "he was investigating with any proofs of any sorts". The Supreme Court was called to intervene in the dispute and ruled in favour of the latter:
From now on, any investigation on a foreign investor and/or Bank account holder needs to be authorized by a member of the Council; we cannot allow a rouge agent to ruin our relations with foreign investors.

This court ruling, in combination with the absence of costs for off-shore bank account and transfers, will probably solidify our country as the "tax-heaven" of Europe.

On the fiscal front, another important decision is the implementation of a facilitated corporate tax regime, with a reduction to a staggering 16%. This change, expected to take action in the beginning of September, is expected to radically increase foreign investments in the country and increase jobs in the country.

FIRMS END FINANCIAL "BUTTFUCK", HOWEVER MILITARY MISCOMMUNICATION SPARKS BATTLE

Breaking news, a few days ago, many Eudocian companies finally chose to lift their damaging economic war on the Garie Federation after international investors lost interest, and the Eudocian markets broke down, with companies like JPMorganChase being damaged furiously, with recovery in the gloomy future, questionable. However, as troops on the borders heard of the economic downfall, hell broke loose, as government was over-concerned with the economic and financial situation. NIO, receiving mis-information, sent a DEFCON 2 alert to the 12th, 15th, 16th, and 25th Infantry, along with the 4th Tanks and 7th Motorized, which led to those regiments, under the orders of Brigadier General John Karl Jakolb, moving right to the edge of the border, where allegedly, men with the 15th Infantry heard gunshots, which they reacted to by firing over the border and arming their positions in Assault Formation. This led to fighting throughout July 2nd, as the chaos spread down the border before the Eudocian Government could react. General Jakolb, under the impression that war had broken out, gave unauthorized orders for the 15th, and 12th Infantry to push in. Through July 2nd and 3rd, through to today, troops and tanks advanced into Garie territory, escalating the violent border conflict.

The crisis caused chaos throughout Eudocia. The President made no statement but some speculate that he may have ordered the troops to march, or simply did not order them to stop. Whatever happened, Eudocian forces are now around 5 km into Garie territory. With no orders to halt the troops maintain combat awareness, and casualties reportedly reached 25 for the Eudocians, around afternoon July 3rd. The Air Force has been placed on DEFCON 2 and jets are being scrambled. Patrols are constantly running, mainly out of Boston Air Force Base and Dorburg Forest Air Force Station, while the navy has mobilized the 1st Battle Fleet to the coasts off the Garie East Coast, this including the new Eudocian carrier, ERS New Sandown, along with several other ships. Nothing has been declared yet, and speculation from the government is impossible as they have made no statements. Is the military in charge of the country now? Only time will tell if a full scale war will escalate.

The Friends of Sietsk
Our government always strives for friendship with all nations. That is why we must strenghten the relationships with as many countries as we can. Currently, we are able to help countries with a similar government to ours, so Sietsk has been delivering humanitarian aid to several countries in Africa, Asia and South America: Mabregre, Chinese People's Confederation, Republic of SM, People's Republic of Guinea.
Not only that, but some countries even requested that Sietsk leave some soldiers, in order to improve the safety of the population. With no hesitation, we accepted.
Sietsk wishes to announce the world that any nation requiring funds or other type of support is free to seek an appointment with a Sietskian economic advisor.

UFO spotted in North Sietsk
A local on the island of Novaya Zemlya claims to have spotted a UFO close to his yard, just as it was taking off. Currently, there are no other witnesses, except the "proof" provided by the local. A team of investigators is currently on their way to the site, despite the low probability of such events occuring.

To: General Ivan T.
As you may know, the plan to peacefully seize control of other governments in Europe failed. We simply lost momentum, and now it's too slow to be worthile. However, we still have a shot at the other continents, where communist governments are doing... not so well. Mighty Sietsk is sure able to convince them that our advisors will help their countries develop at an unprecedented rate! And this will happen, though we should try to make them reliant on our resources. Just enough to keep them wanting more.
One more thing, I want to emphasize on the fact that the force of words is greater, no matter what, than the force of our army (no matter how great it is!). I have lived through the pain and suffering of war and anyone who wants war probably never saw a real war. There is no need to cause pain on ourselves, and on others.

Major ADI budget cuts

Janina Fornberg and other ADI leadership announced today that there would be "major budget cuts regarding the development of Panjal, Palauraya and the K. Khanates". The country is seemingly divided in the positive or negative impacts of this decision. Critics claim that this will severely dampen Besgaria's relationship with Asia. Former Secretary for International Relations, Jeremy C'dvska, officially stated:
"The ADI ties Besgaria to Asia, allowing for a bigger export pool. Particularly the efforts in Panjal and the Khanates were possibly paving the route to an alliance with the nations of the ADI. The budget cuts are only a bad thing."

On the other side of the coin, the decision is being praised by many. Former SSAG Director, Edward Fischer, (who now lives in the Heinz Islands) had this to say: "Compared to Besgaria's allies and enemies, Besgaria's military spending isn't up to scratch. In the decades since the 2nd Great War, Besgaria has certainly lost it's status as a global military power. Having some extra money in the treasury should allow for Besgaria to revamp and develop it's military. The money could also go into other things, like business subsidies."

The Rikesprasident has spoken, claiming that "this does not mean the death of the ADI, simply a more controlled, slower development. This is only a good thing, for Besgaria and the ADI nations."

According to officials however, most of the budget cuts are in the K. Khanates and Palauraya, with only very minor cuts in Panjal. Experts are putting the Khanate and Palaurayan parts of the ADI to be completed by 1989 while Panjal's to be completed by 1986-87.

We want freedom! Give it now!
9th of September, 1980

”Look at us! People are pushing us around using us as slaves! We’re humans too if they understand that? People should be able to do what they desire no matter the skin color, no matter the power. What really matters is, is that your from somewhere you have the right to rule where you live. You shouldn’t let people just take over, that’s why we - the Melanesians in Noumea will stand up to the empire and declare independence of the island of Grand Terre!” said Claude Charbonniaud, Leader of the Grand Terre Independence Free Front (GTIFF). The crows cheered and clapped in applause, as flags of the proposed Grand Terre were being waved. “Thank you, thank you! You are all so kind!” thanked General Charbonniaud as he started walking down to the GTIFF HQ where he was put of sight. The audience soon dispersed, walking out to carry on with there normal lives.

      28th of September, 1980

      Aftermath of the 1980 Election

Following a surprising turn of events, the Ganzunion Arbeiterpartei secured not only a majority in the Arbeitersrat, which is impressive in and of itself, but also won a majority in the parliaments of 5 of the 12 FSCRs. Their majority status gives them near unlimited power over the UFSCR, power which hasn’t even been held by the Christlichen Frühsozialistischen Partei since 1965. It is by no miracle that the GUAP achieved this victory, however, as it is obvious that their many campaign promises about modernization and Reformation are what won them the election. Whether or not they will keep their promises (or rather how many promises they will keep) is unknown, but it does seem that the party was being sincere as they have already pushed for a more aggressive implementation of the five-year plan which they drafted last year when they were head of the opposition. Chairman of the CFSP, Georg Krahl has expressed outrage at the turn of events and had refused to work with the GUAP under any conditions.
