Stupid question but what does it mean to act white? Go to school?
Graduating highschool is a big. These are the stats by race in my own state of California.
total, white, hispanic, black, asian/pacific islander
78, 86, 73, 66, 90
Also, rejecting gang culture, encouraging learning and higher education, and ensuring the children grow up in a two parent household helps.
The real thing that gets me is "not the cheapest, worst, most miserable place to live" = gentrification. THAT's a tough one in the cities too.Englar Empire wrote:As long as the blacks think being smart is "acting white", it will be.

"High school" in America is not an equal bar though. I lived for a while around St Louis and went to college outside Memphis. The schools that cover black majority areas all almost totally under perform and produce students that are of - at least in my experience - questionable literacy. That sounds kind of racist, and it isn't fun to say, but that's the hard truth of it. Throwing money at the schools doesn't really help, since teachers will often teach at white majority schools for less money than a black majority school would pay. Before my family left St Louis my sister was a teacher for < 1 year at a majority black school. Her purse was stolen twice, she was constantly dealing with students fighting. It was a hard life, so she left. The real thing that gets me is "not the cheapest, worst, most miserable place to live" = gentrification. Rather they stem from logical, scientific, and natural empirical truths. Race is real, race matters, race is the foundation of one's identity. It is not racist or ignorant to love your own race. It is natural.

Put a black and a white 5-year-old kid in a room with toys and video games, with no prior knowledge of what race is, and they will play together just fine.
If a 5-year-old doesn't need to be told not to be an asshole to other people because there skin is different, then ignorance isn't the problem.

What do you mean? I am more than my race. Race isn't the basis for all of us. We are all humans. Loving your race is fine, but at the extent of others, no. Racism is a problem.

I completely agree. Everyone has important qualities apart from their race, and yes we are all humans. However at the core of us all we have as the basis of our identity our race. When the FBI wants to profile a man they are surveilling, the first part of their description in our hypothetical scenario is that he is a "middle-aged white man, black hair and tanned."
When anyone describes themselves on a basic level they begin with their name, derived from their culture, nation, or race of origin in most cases. They then describe themselves by addressing their gender and race, two inherently important things which make you who you are.
Most important of all of those is race (name is derived from race too anyway). Who your ancestors were, how they lived, and where they came from is irrefutably the most important and core aspect of what makes a person who they are on a basic predeterministic level, determining who not only they are but where they will go with regards to the culture that surrounds them.
