So Dancy's here? Eh, I have a few qualms about mixing FanT elements in an RP that's been so resolutely if quixotically MT (no offense Nort -- I mean in the sense of opting to cultural traditionalism, nothing pejorative), but it's not my thread to patrol, and if Nort's not complaining...

(Also, Dancy: how did your character know David's on the guest list? I mean, his father is murderously notorious, but I think you'll need to expound on that.)

Well, for comic potential I think a Dwarf-Smith pairing is about equal to the Dwarf-O'Devlin one -- Smith's hopelessly parochial (or so that's what's coming out so far, at least in my reading), and O'Devlin inclined to zealotry (as are all the Camelonean characters I've seen and glimpsed from you -- in my opinion). Eh, I'm gonna suggest rolling with Nort on this one, but let's see what he thinks, yeah?

Yes, I thought it was somewhat odd. Not many countries are looking to build new steam engines for general use these days. To make things clear, we are on Earth in 2018, in September, in a country where computers and modern technology is known but not used, at least not very much. We'll just keep him as a journalist, shall we?

Yes, your aeroplane can land. I don't fuss about those things as it's not a very critical point. The main thing is the character somehow manages to get to where he or she needs to be. Your character is not late. Assume it's some time before noon, check in and then come down around 5 to 12.

Good, good -- I'd written in passing that she stripped right by her bedside in her haste to make it to the luncheon in time. Would be an ass of a time to rewrite that... though you can write of the mess my character made as she hurried up by the time yours enters the room.

If nothing else, it'll make for a bad first impression with the woman she'd be lodging with for the night and next day, lol.
