I meant foreigners viewing Nortend a bit vaguely, though it's true most Nortans have similarly vague ideas of foreign countries given most have only read about them in encyclopaediae and books or seen them in films. The group might travel through Jewry Lane, but there won't be a prolonged halt there.

A question I have is why is Peter Smith, a Nortan, on this tour? Well... let's say his old school headmaster really liked him and knew he wanted to meet people from other countries. His headmaster happens to be a good friend of the Chairman of the Board of Touring, Sir William Hight, and pulled a few strings. Voila: Peter Smith is on the tour, during the Long Vacation from University.

Some important things to note are:

1. The day is Wednesday, 5th of September, which is at the start of the Nortan autumn. It is NOT the present date.
2. Please only arrive by aeroplane. I haven't thought about the logistics of ships and ports and docks, nor do I want to.
3. Tourists are not permitted to bring poisons, fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy products, nuts, seeds, insects or any other potentially diseased or invasive biological material. Customs will confiscate and destroy any such objects. They are recommended to not bring knives, fire-arms or fire-works.
4. I will re-iterate that mobile telephones and other small personal electronic devices ARE permitted (though they will not be able to send or receive any information), however larger electronic devices are NOT permitted.
5. It is an electric tram shuttle but a steam train from St Christopher and Nevvings to Saint-le-Cross.

Yeah, very much intentional -- she's a very exceedingly rich young woman. And where most in her position won't part with a cent, she'll willingly part with far more than that, for kicks as much as for truly altruistic or philanthropic reasons. Simply put, she finds pleasure in seeing people come suddenly upon an unexpected financial windfall -- she loves to surprise them.

Good. Now, Nort, mind if you give us a picture of the typical shared room at the hotel? I Googled up St Pancras Renaissance Hotel but I was more confused than enlightened by the diversity of rooms that came up.

Might as well paint up a word-picture -- not so much for Akira but for Satomi, who's next in line. (David shall be last, for he'll be the one to make a scene, as in a climax of bad movie.)

Hmmm... let's see then.

There are two rooms, one room being a small sitting room and the other the bedroom area, resulting in a fairly longish room. There are two double beds made of a dark, glossy wood, in the latter area which is farther from the door. Beds have crisp white linen sheets and a light-weight woollen blanket. The end wall has three leaded casement windows set in three gothic arches. There is no door separating the bedroom area from the sitting room. The sitting room has two dark armchairs upholstered in brocade, a low table on a Persian rug, and a very small cast-iron fireplace. The table has the hotel information book. There is also a desk in the sitting room, with a table with an oil lamp sitting on it, as well as a black rotary-dial telephone, writing paper and fountain pen. There is an ink-well in the drawer, as well as envelopes, a Bible and a prayer book. The bathroom is quite small, with a white enamel bath-cum-shower and sink, tiled in various designs depending on the room. There is a separate toilet adjoining, with a standard ceramic 'throne' and a sink. The rooms are wallpapered in a deep oxblood with black and gold detail, with hard-wood parquetry floors and crown mouldings on the ceiling. I hope this helps. Individual rooms may have slight differences in layout but the general amenities should remain.

I do wish people would read the requirements... Russo-Austria, please put some effort into your posts, if you wish to continue in this RP. Four sentences is not enough. Whilst I have stated that only chaperones, nurses or other guardians are not permitted, servants and maids are in the same vein. However, I will permit you to have one lady's maid if you prefer, but an entire entourage of servants and maids is both unrealistic for a single traveller and logistically impossible. I also point out that no, she does not have a personal car at this time, as the tour's railway component has not yet started. I would beseech you to read the document at the start of the IC thread, if you are unsure, as well as consult the itinerary and information provided at the OOC thread's beginning.
