With the announcement of our thirty person long-list, we have waved goodbye to the vast majority of the players scouted so far this cycle. This is were we separates the wheat from the chaff, and as we watch those worthless outer husks carried off on the breeze, we can now get a better look at the players that really matter.

It was a fantastic period for Chromatik football, with regional success both internationally and domestically, and that is reflected heavily in the list. There are no fewer that eight of their players amongst the thirty, including Kaytlyn Victoriane and Lucjusz Stef who won the player of the year awards in Schottia and Valanora respectively. Euran Champions' Cup winners, Spartangrad, are even better represented however, with nine of their double winning players making it this far. Skipper, James Palmisano, has already been tipped by some as a good outside bet lift the award, while John Talbot, Lüí Wçêíl, and Mark Unterhausen might also be in with a shout. Beaten finalist, Lammerton, come in slightly lighter with three players represented, however their Chromatik forward Victoriane is another player well placed to pick up the gong.

In terms of the regional bragging rights, those once again go to Atlantian Oceania, who upped their tally from last year to thirteen. It's pretty much even between Rushmore and the Independents who come in a fair way behind their rivals with eight and seven representative, while Esportiva are left bringing up the rear again with only two.

In what is a very strong field, the Galactico Youth award has been hotly contested this year. Reigning Junior champion, Marco Santa Oria, makes the grade this year, as does the lad he pipped to the post, Kai-Kai Mokumdarian. Kokumdarian's international teammates, Isla Sibučić and Bryger Tidesson are names which jump off the list, alongside Lammerton's, Oskar Holsteiner, and Schottia cap Ed Lorrey. Much of the buzz, however, has been around Pasargan attacker, Alexander Jager, who following his big money move to number one ranked club, Revolutionaries, has really been making some waves.

It's hard to believe that the Cosumar international is still eligible for this award, and indeed, it seems a long time ago since the young winger burst onto the scene. Tidesson has future Galactico written all over him, and it's clear that others see it too, with his club turning down a $65,000,000 bid from Brinemouth in the summer. This "fearless and creative technician" has had a strong cycle, lifting the Cup Winners Cup and finishing third with his national side in regional competitions.


ST. Oskar Holsteiner - Farfadillis
Lammerton - Schottic Premier League

Lammerton's record signing, Holsteiner, made an instant impact after transferring from Kirk Preston in the summer, helping the Hornets to a shock Champions' Cup final appearance. He is already knocking on the door of becoming a first team regular with Farfadillis, and we know they are a side not short of an attacker or two. Alongside last year's Galactico Youth winner, Xíxì Êns, you would imagine that the nation's strike prospects are looking good for the next decade or so.

Tobias Möller... Ingþór Auðbjörnsson... Alexander Jager..? It looks likely that the Revolutionaries wonderkid could be the next to follow in what has been a long and illustrious line of Pasargan forwards. The Pasargan press credit the former Dwile Warriors man with "almost single-handedly" guiding the side to DBC success recently, and to be sure, if his performances are anything to go by, then he is more than ready to step up to the next level. Now playing at the world's top ranked club, we will get a better chance to see what the player is made of.

Schottia and Dwile Warriors winger, Nick James: We arrived together in Apox at about the same time, and to be honest, even at sixteen/seventeen, Alexander stood out a mile in this league. He's got a great chance now with the Revolutionaries, and off the back of this award, he can really kick on going into the World Cup.

For the record: the decision was made that should any players aged twenty-one or under make the Galactico's long-list, they would then be ineligible for the Galactico Youth award. It is felt that being listed with the senior players is reward enough, and that the Youth award should go to someone at that stage in their career.

After his performances at the most recent Sporting World Cup, Masatoshi has been thrust into the lime light at former Härlighet Ligan champs, Mallox. The seventeen year old has goals and assists to his game, and hasn't looked out of place playing alongside the prolific Alexander Kárpáty.

The former AC Izotz Zubia youth player is already pushing hard for a starting berth in the Audioslavian national side, after getting some valuable game time in the Liga Starblaydia last season.

The Vilitan wonderkid already has three goals in five international appearances to his name, as their performances set the V-League alight last season. Second top goal scorer, and third in terms of over all preferences, it's easy to see why Vilita have been keen to tie down this player who is of mixed Turori and Starblaydi heritage.

Schottia and Cednia Beach striker, Ross Renshaw: Milaaso is already one of the best in the league, and it's kind of scary that they're still getting better. Watching the way they play, and their movement, Milaaso is someone I feel a lot of us more experienced V-League strikers could learn from.

Champions' Cup winners, and by a four goal margin, what more can you say really. It's been a truly brilliant Galacticos cycle for the Eura League side, and it looks like Crasder is on the verge of assembling one of the great sides in world football.

Johnny Smith - Schottia

Smith didn't quite break the dominance of Schottia's big two, but he came damn close with a far smaller budget. The former Dundee keeper has had the team playing at 100% for a long time now, and the incredible run to the Champions' Cup final will have taken even the Lammerton supporters by surprise. While having a player like Kaytlyn Victoriane in attack certainly makes life easier, the Hornets' performances as a unit have been highly impressive.


Theresa Riether - Nephara
Eastweald - Härlighet Ligan

Riether was a very popular nominee for this award, and after winning the Wood Elves' fist Härlighet Ligan title in the league's 25th Anniversary year, her place in Cosumarite folklore is assured. This title was a long time coming for Eastweald, and what's more, the team did it in style with their attacking brand of football helping them sweep aside all in their path.

Ramusok United manager, Jock Sonny: Theresa has done what a lot of people have struggled with in this league, and that's helping Eastweald realise their massive potential. She's proved once again just why she is one of the top managers in Multiverse football, and don't be surprised to see her statue unveiled outside the Old Weldenskirgen in the near future.

They definitely have the talent to stay in Premier League indefinitely, but they don’t have a lot of hope to stay in the middle of the table like they have in recent years.

So we find out selves once again at the short-list stage. From the thousands of players who took to the field during the last cycle, the SBC scouts first narrowed that down to hundreds, then tens, and now we are left with this very special eleven. This should put into context just how astonishing an achievement it is to reach this stage, and only the most talented and successful players have made it this far. Each of our eleven have achieved either team or individual honour, and in many cases, it has been a combination of both.

It's hardly a surprise to see this short-list littered with Spartangrad players, given the sides' achievements in UICA competition. No fewer than six of them make the final eleven, and in fact, the Euran champions are the only side to be represented more than once. Players from Handon United, Eastweald, Lammerton, Brinemouth, and Sar Mara make up the rest of the feild, which include the Players of The Year from top ranked associations, Schottia and Nephara.

Six men and five women ensure than once again the final short-list is pretty much balanced in terms of gender; and looking up and down the names, there is a good mix of ages, and players who play a wealth of positions. Some of these players such as Victoriane and Ünterhausen are on the way up in their careers and are likely only to get better; whereas for the likes of Stef and surprise inclusion Amokachi we are probably at last chance saloon.

So... of the moment you've all been waiting for. Our expect panel have come to their verdict and we can now announce the winner of the sixth Galacticos World Player of the Multiverse.

CM. James Palmisano - Apox
Spartangrad - Eura League

Palmisano was by all accounts the standout player for Spartangrad as they capped a fantastic Galacticos cycle by lifting the Champions' Cup. Spartangrad have long been the nearly men of the Eura League, but they smashed that reputation to pieces last season. Palmisano was a central figure as he skippered the club to the equal biggest win in a Champions Cup final. Making the final three is particularly impressive given that he is the only one of our short-listers not to play for a top ten ranked nation; and that in itself should be seen as a big achievement for the Apoxian.

Falourr and Schottia defender, Stephen Paul: James Palmisano has been the best player in the league over the last twelve months, hands down. He's a natural leader, and when it comes to controlling the game from the midfield, he is probably second to none at the moment.


RB/CB. Lucjusz Stef - Chromatika
Mar Sara FC - Vanorian Premiership

Stef is a player who is perhaps coming to the end of what has been an impressive career. However, it has done nothing to slow him down, as the Mar Sara defender used every bit of his experience to put in a near flawless cycle. Stef has captained his club to domestic success as well as the Globe Cup title. On the international front he also played his part in Chromatika's historic first senior trophy. It seems like just reward for a player whose century of caps have come has he helped turn his nation into a footballing super power.

Former Hondo FC striker, Lucy Curren: Lucjusz is so difficult to go up against. He has just got so much experience playing at the very top level. One of the up sides of joining Centralis Heart is that I won't have to see him again next season.


RW/ST. Kaytlyn Victoriane - Chromatika
Lammerton - Schottic Premier League

Victoriane has had an outstanding Galacticos Cycle. Crowned SPL player of the year en route to what was Lammerton's best domestic season in forty years; she then followed it up with a run to the Champions' Cup final and Regional success with Chromatika. This is all the more impressive given that for the most part she has been playing on the right wing, as opposed to her preferred position through the middle. The Chromatik has the ability to change the game in the blink of an eye, and seems to contribute goals and assists in equal measure. Her performances have certainly not gone unnoticed, and the player was subject to a $30,000,000 bid from Cornellians during the window.

The first female recipient of this award is still the right side of thirty, and one would imagine, will go on to become even better. It's a terrifying prospect for SPL defenders.

Lammerton Manager, Johnny Smith: As a manager it's hard to pick out individuals within the team for special mention, but Kaytlyn has been a different class over the last eighteen months. I was lucky enough to take over a strong squad when I came here, and working with a player like her is every manager's dream. I've asked her to play out wide in a forward three, and she never grumbles about it, despite the fact that any striker would rather be closer to the goals. I can't really ask much more from her, she absolutely deserves this award.


Congratualtions Kaytlyn, and welcome to what is a very select list of people who have been crowned the best in the Multiverse. This is the part where I normally say don't party too hard, but on this occasion I'm not going to do that. If you want my advice, go home, tank a bottle of whisky, smash up your apartment, then go out and sleep with the first person you see. Life is just too short not to.


OOC: I want to make sure Bonesea gets some much deserved credit at this point. It was he who came up with the concept, and much of the structure from this edition was based upon his model. Thanks also to everyone who offered me help and encouragement along the way, both were sorely needed. Similarly to previous editions, I'm not going to reveal the exact formula used to calculate the winner - however - rank, success, and RP mentions played a big part. Anything that can be put down journalistic opinion (or even sloppy journalism) I'm not going to edit, however, if there is anything that is factually wrong, then let me know and I will adjust it.

Finally, I'm sorry that this awards cycle wasn't as in-depth as I would have liked. I've been snowed under with work lately, and it was a bit of a struggle to find the time to get this together.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  1. TWO TEAMS MAY ENTER. Each football association residing in the region of Esportiva is entitled to send two (2) teams from its domestic league into the Campionato Esportivano di Campeones (the "Contest").
    1. The first team must be a league regular-season champion or the winner of a post-season play-off, except as noted in section C of this rule.
    2. The second team must qualify on sporting merit, such as being the second-place team in the final league table, the playoff finals loser, or, if a post-season play-off is held, the regular season winner, except as noted in section C of this rule.
    3. EXCEPTIONS.
      1. APERTURA-CLAUSURA STYLED LEAGUES. Leagues with two distinct halves may, at their association's discretion, submit the two winners of each half, unless the same team wins both halves of the league, in which the football association reserves the right to send a second team on sporting merit using the criteria above.
      2. LEAGUES UTILIZING AN EXTRANEOUS POINT SYSTEM. Leagues using special points systems for determining post-season play should submit the top two teams at the end-of-season special points table. An example of an extraneous point system is the Damukuni Football League's Championship Points System.
  2. ENTRY FORM. Each football association must preface its entrant within a box as follows:

    Sample United FC, Sample City FC

    If this rule is not followed, the entry form will be voided and your teams will not be able to participate. NOTE: Other competition qualifiers may be listed in the same box.
  3. SUBMISSION CUTOFF. The posting of the UICA Super Cup shall serve as the cutoff point for submissions into the Contest. Late entries that precede the Contest's Access List may be counted at the discretion of the Event Curator.
  4. FINAL SITE BIDS.
    1. Any resident of the region of Esportiva may submit a final site bid for the Contest.
    2. REQUIREMENTS. A final site bid MUST include:
      1. The stadium name and its location (at least a city name, if not also a state, province or territory name or street address).
      2. The stadium capacity. Stadiums must seat at least 55,000 fans.
      3. A picture of the stadium. The picture should blur out any real-life stadium names or national flags, and should be scaled to have a height of approximately 300 to 400 pixels. Stadium pictures MAY be hidden behind spoilers.
    3. RECOMMENDATIONS. The Damukuni Football Association, as Event Curator, recommends, but does not require, a final site bid include a short description of the stadium and any famous football-related happenings there.
    4. DEFAULT SITE. The default site, if no bids are submitted, is Naruto Shinagawa Field, Atarashii-Damushuto International Stadium, Atarashii-Damushuto, United States of Damukuni.
  5. QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS. Questions and comments about the Contest can be posted on the International Domestic Soccer Discussion thread, or telegrammed to Damukuni directly if you wish to keep your matter private.

The Avenhelm Castle, currently pictured with a dirt floor for a royal procession, is currently under renovation to double it's capacity size from 30,000 Spectators to 60,000 Spectators. The unique stadium is home to Avenhelm Kost, a top tier team within the Kernovi and Rewgwlas Football association. The Castle pictured was used by the Kernovian Royal Family prior to the division of the Kernovian Isle following the Second Kernovi Civil War in 1735, when Swyftlandre became a independent state free of Royal Rule. The castle and surrounding land would eventually fall into the ownership of the wealthy Mellor Family in the 1800s and in 1922, then proprietor of the land John Mellor Jr, was able to receive planning permission to build a sporting stadium connected to the castle, which culminated in a controversial legal case against the decision the Mellor estate ultimately won.

Since then, the stadium has become the home of Avenhelm Kost and the one-time home of the Swyftlandre National Team before the construction of the Swyftlandre Country Stadium. Furthermore, the stadium has a rich history in the development of early Esportivan Football - it was the site of the Campionato Esportiva IV Final - where the Apox National Team seized their first CE trophy. Furthermore, it's unique architecture made it the stadium of choice for the very first Campionato Esportivano di Campeones.

Following the recent unification of unification of Kernovi and Swyftlandre in the Faywynne Treaty, formally and peacefully reuniting the Kernovian Island for the first time in centuries - the newly elected government of Kernovi and Rewgwlas have approved a bid to bring the CEdC Finals back home.

You sit down at your television to watch the most recent season of Zwangzug's league. As you do, a bunch of talking heads start yapping on the screen.

1. "You know what we need?" asks Frank Wall, switching madly between matches. "Another crazy final matchday with several teams potentially in title contention! It doesn't get any more thrilling than that!"

2. "Oh, please, those are just cheap attempts at melodrama," yawns Liara Cummings, glancing over at the newest UICA scores. "If you want competition without going crazy, have a season with the lead changing over the course of several rounds. Now that's realism."

3. "This brings up a good point," says Tom, your brother. "Namely, why do we need leadership changes anyway? If we just had the same team lead from like matchday three on it would be a lot simpler to write up."

Your attention drops to the bottom half. Which teams should have the worst dropoff this season?


1. "Pick on the western teams!" says John Black. "Eveyone knows Namiri Forest are super boring to watch what with their defense and their insufferability. And besides, who wants to root for a team called the Twineur Bugs? Sounds gross."

2. "Pick on the southern teams!" says Ludwig O'Brien. "Bassabook have probably gotten...old, right? That's how that works. And with Makvala Tsereteli leaving for the national team, Excelsior Slogda won't be able to keep it together."

3. "Pick on the eastern teams!" says Ash Murphy. "No one wants to see Ephesian qualify for anything, it could get messy. Trink will probably just be too excited about hosting the national team to worry about playing well."

The UICA entry form glares threateningly at you. Which teams should make the biggest improvement this season?

1. "Namiri Forest!" cheers Barbie Armstrong. "After seeing wildly attacking Ephesian wrest the title from them last season, they'll be motivated to climb back into the fight. Plus, it will probably boost our environmentalism stats or whatever."

2. "Sporting Esper!" exults Finn Gibson. "Sure, they might be selling one of their stars off to Qusmo at some point, but who cares? At some point the youth prospects have to pay off."

3. "Now here's an idea," says Ayla, your sister. "Why not have several teams make breakthroughs? Okay, it could be a selection dilemma for the Cup of Harmony, but it's not like that matters. Right?"

The excitement builds to a head. Who should win the league?

1. "Ephesian FC," says Homer Chan. "I mean, they are the defending champions, after all! Kendra Jover has lots of leadership potential, and Spencer Gleason is good for plenty of goals up front. Plus, we get to see the national team have to deal with their influx of talent."

2. "Namiri Independent," says Evan Poe. "Subroto Parida is a hardworking player, even if he's sick most of the time. They won't rock the boat, but they're a solid all-around side."

3. "Keppal Cosmos," says Lee Henderson. "It's been like ten seasons, they're probably due, right? And it would be a nice showing for Bigtopian inclusiveness. Probably."

4. "Who needs verisimilitude?" rhetorically questions an optimistic delegate from 102d Jr.s. "Come on. You know you want to."

So. Seven of these games were shutouts. A couple in more than one way, although when Keppal play Arlington that's not entirely unexpected. FTC United, who are mostly dismal, had the only upset of the round, Tabitha Kroeze's goal overcoming Spenson.

And then we had last season's league champions take on Trink.

Ephesian did Ephesian things, with Spencer Gleason recording a hat trick, and Emma McHewitt and Kendra Jover scoring once. Perhaps they were motivated by trying to avenge their loss to Trink in the fourth round of the last cup, although one suspects probably not. Anyway, Misako Tsuki proved that she's still a match for Gleason at high levels, scoring three of her own, the last in minute 90+2 to secure the dramatic tie. In between came goals from Yoshitoki Fremd and Ellie Oshiro.

Slogda-Namiri Forest isn't a matchup that makes one anticipate goals, but they were there in the plural, via Kostya Hart-Farm and Cedric Quire. Bassabook stormed past Namiri Independent by scoring three unanswered in the second half; Danilo Sabbia had a pair of assists. Trink continued their shaky defensive ways, surrendering goals to Chelsea Micar-Stovi and Bianca McTucker.

The game between Bassabook and Slogda was kind of one for the purists, if your idea of purism includes Jude Idell scoring a penalty after a clumsy Leslie Applebaum foul and then everyone standing around awkwardly and not connecting passes together. Canbix continue to not do much, though they did manage to score, Shao-Yi Watters providing a fairly meaningless consolation. Ephesian thwapped Esper, with McHewitt scoring what proved to be the winner and Dwight Frazier-Sen adding on another in short succession. Arlington's defense continued to impress, with Terri Wenderstadt tapping in a goal to edge out Namiri Independent.

Sooo.

Hal Boehn-Skiel scored the only goal for Spenson to avoid the basement and send Canbix to the bottom. Mafizuddin Thakura and Kelsey Dreyfur scored the only goals for Namiri Forest and Twineur, respectively, to...do...stuff. Yes.

Ephesian continued their boisterous ways, up against the, uh, old boys. Gleason added a pair before Terrence Montague put the hosts on the board, but to no avail as Frazier-Sen would quickly widen Ephesian's lead again. With 3.5 points, Ephesian win the cup to gain at least some hardware this season.

And then, there was Arlington. They contrived to score both their own kind and the actual kind of hat trick! "Center forward" (...ish) Riley Kua scored three, Marjie Bechdel added one from the left, and McTucker tapped in one from the right to run up the score against the Rovers.

And see, it actually kind of mattered too, because Arlington finish with 3 points, and a whopping +6 differential. Since Ephesian are third in the lead, and Arlington were...sixth (how did that happen?), they qualify for the pithily-acronymed VCIAPP!

What a season! Tobiasia City win the Championship by a single point, ahead of the Portside Tigers and Tob-An FC. A nail biting match between Arkford FC and Tob-An FC ended 2-2, after Samantha Hiucdottir powered in a 90th minute free kick to cost Tob-An the Championship.

The race for the title separated quickly, with a 15 point gap between #3 and #4, and it become a desperate race for the last UICA spot between the mid table. A win for the East River Roses on the final match day was not enough for them to leapfrog Aruk United, and consequently United’s team will be the one playing international football next season.

Sterling City United have been the most consistent team since the beginning of Series A, finishing in the top four every season. Up until now however, they had never won the league. Sterling City United doubled the record winning margin in the league table, finishing sixteen points ahead of runners-up Atlético Augusta and finally satisfying the desires of their ever patient supporters to bring a league title home. Augusta meanwhile puts its new ownership to good use, improving their position in the league table tremendously (19th place in 2040-41) and earning the right to be Darmen's top seeded entrant into the Globe Cup.

Hugh Town, County Liverpool. Population 529. And yet somehow, Hugh Town Millionaires found themselves in third place in the league, qualifying for the Globe Cup. Certainly being backed by several millionaires is helpful, the club probably won't be devoid of big name players come next season as the club will look to make a splash in the transfer window. Lynx FC made small strides this season, actually finishing on the same number of points (48) as they did last season, but moving up one spot in the table and claiming Darmen's last spot in the Globe Cup.

Following a disapointing entry into Series A, Scott City FC turned it up to another level in their second season in the top flight, finishing fifth and losing out on Globe Cup qualification by only +7 goal difference. Scott City FC are another club that will be looking to add foreign talent in the upcoming transfer window. A young goalkeeper to replace their ageing starter Gianni Agostino would be a likely transfer to watch for.

After their scintillating start in the Series A, winning three league titles in a row, MTK Kingsville has cooled off considerably, but is still a top 10 team. Their National Cup title is their first piece of silverware since their last league title in 2038-39, and came at the expense of the aforementioned Hugh Town Millionaires, who have been Cup runners-up for the past two seasons. MTK will be hoping that their Cygnus Cup venture will be a good one, and perhaps inspire the team to win their fourth league title.

Brady City United and Upper Township FC avoided relegation last season but were unable to do so this year. For Upper Township, the drop down to Series B means the club will need to decide what to do with the two foreign players it signed heading into the season. Right-back Sobat (Dainer) is likely to stay, but Left-winger Otis Blackley (Acronius) may be moved on. RCD Peterborough Energy, after just one season in the top flight, were the third relegated team, finishing last in the standings.

FC Valleyboys, who won Series B; Springfield United and Darmen City United have been promoted to the top division. Darmen City United is the only one of the three to have been in Series A previously, as recently as the 2039-40 season.

As many expected, Royal PFC U-19 claimed their sixth title in as many seasons and will compete in the UICA Youth Cup once again. As the runners-up in the competition this season, they'll certainly be among the favorites to win the title. Additionally, Chuckio FC has won the Club of the Year Award, and will participate in the Vilitan Cove Invitational.

Football Management Committee Orders Name Changes

Fourteen teams impacted by rulings

The Football Management Committee (FMC) has determined that “FC” can no longer be used in a teams regular name.

“All teams in the Football System are officially Football Clubs, but only certain teams wanted to be referred to as FCs. The Committee has decided to remove FC from the publicly referred names of clubs” said Edelot de Lahem, spokeswoman for the FMC.

“For example, while April 7 is officially registered as April 7 Football Club, in broadcasts, print, and in competition, they would be known as April 7.” continued de Lahem.

The teams affected are Anceaume, April 7, Aris, Astration Railway, Concord, Dacia Textile, de la Charite, dit de Compiengne, du Mont Saint Eloy, Fleuriot, Hibernus, Invicta, and Meridian.

While thirteen teams had suffixes removed, one team had a suffix added by FMC order.

With the relegation of Atlas Massalia to the C-Division, the Football Management Committee passed a order telling current C-Division side Massalia to change their name. The FMC said that describing a Atlas Massalia-Massalia matchup is awkward when said aloud. Massalia's Chairman Alar de Colommiers agreed, but argued that Atlas Massalia should be the one to change their name. His public suggestions of "Atlas", "That Team Across Town", and one other suggestion that gained him a 200,000 Argenteus fine, were not implemented. The now Massalia City hope to improve on last season's tenth place finish.


New Game’s 1751 Premier Division Predictions and Why They Are Wrong

All sports websites make predictions, but only New Game will tell you why our predictions are likely to be incorrect

Will all seven managers make it through the season?

Prediction: No.
Why this prediction will be wrong: After a listless start under Thoumas d'Herbigny, Invicta released him and installed former assistant Milio Gabriel to lead the team for the second half of last season. With Gabriel strolling the sideline, Invicta rose from one game out of last to finish comfortably in fifth. It makes sense for some desperate team to look at firing a manager to get a boost for the remainder of the season.

However, which coach would it be? It’s doubtful that Cyrene Bay would fire a championship winning manager. Altair hired Brieuc d'Espinueil, and Invicta hired Jan Durjardin just this season. Hibernus was led to the Premier Division by Iahan Alphand. This leaves Patrons’ Gilduin Roux, de la Charite’s Perresson Coffriere, and Aris’ Brivel de Ker Massonnet, and all three led their teams to the top half of the Premier Division last season. It’s just as likely that every coach makes it through the end of the season.

How many goals with Ioen Aye score?

Prediction: 15 goals
Why this prediction will be wrong: Hibernus clearly earned their way into the Premier Division last season. Now that they’re in the Premier Division, they spent to try and stay there. Their biggest signing was sweeper Ioen Aye from Cyrene Bay. Aye was a solid back-up, coming off the bench scoring ten goals. The 29-year old is now tasked with scoring goals day-in day-out, alongside fellow sweeper Theophraste Leclerc du Tremblau and striker Sebastian Collbras. Ioen Aye scored ten goals off the bench with Cyrene Bay, he should easily double that.

Where will Invicta finish?

Prediction: Third
Why this prediction will be wrong: Invicta fired caretaker manager Milio Gabriel in order to hire Naucratis manager Jan Durjardin. Naucratis defeated Wardson Wanderers and Tzapargh Valkéröt on their way to the third preliminary round of UICA 54, and this effort made Durjardin a hot property. With Durjardin, the team added backs Peio de Chanier from Naucratis, Briagenn Seydoux from Aris, and midfielder Christien Duclesieux from Cyrene Bay to the regular 11. But if this doesn’t improve the defense, it could be a long season in Airzis.

Who will be the top goal scorer?

Prediction: Kerrian Odierne, Cyrene Bay
Why this prediction will be wrong: Kerrian Odierne led the Premier Division in goals, scoring 33 goals. It would make sense for the striker to repeat. However, his scoring torrent fell off as the season went on, and Astav Matton, Huon Tosannus, Soa Saunier, and Judikael Palairet picked up the pace. Cyrene Bay also added Annaeg le Mestre, also a talented scorer, from Meridian. There may be too many mouths to feed for Odierne to lead the Division again.

What will have been the best signing?

Prediction: Guenael Frarin, de la Charite
Why this prediction will be wrong: Guenael Frarin started 1570 on the bench at Naucratis. He ended the year as Naucratis’ leading scorer. De la Charite then spent big to bring Frarin to Calchedon to be a starting midfielder. If his scoring acumen can translate to the Premier Division, it will be a great signing. If Frarin doesn’t, de la Charite has wasted a lot of argenteus on him.

What will have been the worst signing?

Prediction: Cerasunus Vesgoignon, Patrons
Why this prediction will be wrong: Patrons needed a new right back, so they signed Cerasunus Vesgoignon from April 7. Cerasunus Vesgoignon was signed by April 7 during the halfway break from Confessor, and proceeded to not improve the April 7 defense in any measurable way. However, Denoelig la Vangroingneuse played good defense for Cyrene Bay after they picked him up from April 7 last season. Vesgoignon looked impressive at Confessor, perhaps he will similarly improve away from Regium Stadium

Who will earn the most red cards?

Prediction: John Andrieux, Altair
Why this prediction will be wrong: Left back John Andrieux was a talented bench player with Cyrene Bay, who also registered three red cards coming off the bench. John Andrieux is now a starting player for Altair, and Altair must be hoping he can keep himself under control. Altair was the least penalized team in the Premier Division last season, if Brieuc d'Espinueil can keep Andrieux under control, Altair can have a successful defensive unit.

Which team will be relegated?

Prediction: Aris
Why this prediction will be wrong: Aris finished fourth place in the Premier Division, and added only right back Morgad Gillain from Meridian to their starting roster. If Invicta and Patrons improve while HIbernus demonstrates that they should be in the Premier Division, Aris could be relegated. But, Aris was talented enough to finish in the top half of the Premier Division last season, they could do the same this season.

Which team will win the title?

Prediction: Cyrene Bay
Why this prediction will be wrong: Cyrene Bay won last years title convincingly, and they refused to rest on their laurels. Few teams in the entire Football System made as many changes as Cyrene Bay did. Kouig Belhumeur demonstrated some real ability to find talent and utilize it last season. But if his new hires don’t mesh or work, a different team might be lifting the trophy.

Champions: Jhanna City

Wins and winning runs were in short supply in Liga Starblaydia this season, with the title-winning 65 points of the great and ancient Jhanna City wouldn't even have been enough to qualify for the Champions Cup last time out. The CC experiences appear to have revitalised good old JCFC as their defence was absolutely rock solid for the most part as they kept the challenge of defending champions Iskara Daii at bay all the way until the final game of the season. Much can be said for the aging squad supposedly giving it one last hurrah season, though Jessica Garry's men were certainly boosted by the experience of former Turorian international Timi'sala Koarena and 19 year old Starblaydi midfielder Arnold Navarro - look out for him in the next Di Bradini Cup. The Daii will need some more signings, surely, as they appear to have relied on their title-winning team of last season, but just weren't quite enough to get there. Corinthian Spirits are bolstered by throwing Starblaydi Under-21 goalie Amari Ollarion straight into the first team, but it's their midfield that really needs some more steel so both Audioslavian Herbty Onaindia and Vanorian winger Caninde can really excel out wide. Tehy're in good hands up front, though, with AOCAF Cup supersub Aaron Cole beginning to lead the line. Telecontarë will be kicking themselves at missing out, however, as despite a great offense with Soronúmë, Narquelie and young Audioslavian striker Arjen Jensen, solid defence with Palanadu, Earisil and Avathar, they just couldn't put a whole run together. Perhaps a new goalie is in order for them, as they really miss Dacil Taniquentar - but then again who wouldn't miss one of the greatest goalies in Starblaydi history.

At the bottom, Cedrus Soundgardia finally get sucked into the drop, but look for them to bounce straight back up. Penningworth United came up as Liga Starblaydia 2 champions, but end up going straight back down again - most likely because their journeyman team had been completely found out in the top division. It's been a decent run for Salicus, too, but this season ends with barely a point every two matches and just two wins in thirty matches, relegating them long, long before the season was over. Paricone Athletic were the best of the freshly-promoted sides by a long way, mostly thanks to the rise of Martin Bennett to the number 1 position for Starblaydi goalies, as well as Ángel Nicolás Jiménez banging them in at the other end on their way to a Globe Cup spot by virtue of their fair play rating.

Champions: Montepool Waves

Last season we were sad to see the Waves, Victors and Hawks drop down to Liga 2, and now we're glad to welcome the Waves, Victors and Hawks back up to the top division! Tournet Nicks will be the most irritated by this, improving on their 5th place finish from last season but still not quite making it to the big leagues - look out for them next year with another tilt at promotion.

Torpedo and Ionia came up... and they go straight back down to the basement, joined by Nidola United, while last Season's Liga 3 champions manage to stay up on goal difference only.

Much like in Liga 2, Hippion Heartland and Hernsworth came down, and straight back up they go, joined by Archaeos who somehow turn 14th last season into top of the table and champions with a game to go. There's definitely a significant overall quality gap between Ligas 2 and 3, but Cedrus Islanders are, however, still terrible.

Narrowly escaping relegation but beating both Tele and the Spirits on the way to the title, Tabeck Cefn Druids pick up the greatest piece of silverware in club history, thanks to their young Starblaydi midfield trio of Viola Capodanno, Carlotta Beretano and Sterling Renshaw, who will surely be graduating to the Starblaydia national football team for the upcoming 81st World Cup Qualifiers.

FOOT-BALL: Belenenses Champions of New Lusitania

This season was unparalleled in surprises, with a lot of the favourites nowhere near the Top 4, with some almost getting relegated. Académica and Porto led the championship in the early days of September, Belenenses had drawn all 4 matches, with the same going to Farense, as meanwhile Málaga continued without a point. Sporting, Sevilha and SCUT lagged minimally behind the top two. By December, Marítimo ruled the league, with Porto and Belém lagging behind. The relegation race was equally as interesting - Rio Ave, Málaga, Chaves, Leiria and Guimarães had all been 17th in December, with Benfica and Campomaiorense ahead by a victory. Belenenses maintained their consistentcy during the year, with an exceptionally young side, which could boast some national callups. April was pivotal to the turn of events, with Marítimo drawing with third placed Beira Mar, letting Belém take over the crown, which they beautifully protected to the last day, leaving the aforementioned sides three points off. Sporting ended their hopes of UICA competitions after a draw against Braga, leaving Sevilha safe.
