The Battle for the Red Sea (IC/APSIA Only)

August 2nd, 1979

The People's Republic of Alexandria, a former Sietskan colony, runs into a financial crisis due to poor central planning. The North African state is hemorrhaging funds faster than it can tax its citizens. Using the communist rhetoric of its former overlord, Chairman Jaabir el-Mohammed of Alexandria attains the political power needed to defy Article 3 of the APSIA Organization: Article 3 ensured that the Suez Canal would remain free for any and all merchant vessels regardless of the political climate.

August 5th, 1979

Chairman Jaabir el-Mohammed tears up Article 3 during a public address and formally nationalizes the Suez Canal. Rates are set at 0.5% the declared market value of all goods passing through the canal. Immediately the fees stabilized the Republic's credit rating at the cost of overall traffic through the Canal.

August 17th, 1979

The Gulf Federation, a formidable power largely reliant on European manufactured goods, is besieged with delay notices and canceled orders. Hundreds of millions of dollars are lost overnight as investor confidence tanks. Regional GDP begins to show signs of strain. The Gulf Federation denounces the Republic of Alexandria and demands that fees be waived.

August 24th, 1979

The canal fees take their toll on the fascist regime of Al-Fashir, a mining based economy bordering Alexandria. Lord Macron el-Naqvi takes a page out of their book and charges a counter fee on all vessels entering Al-Fashir waters. Trade slows further.

August 25th, 1979

The Sana'a Sultanate, starved of clients, places their own fees on red sea traffic. Global imports and exports are projected to tank to a 45 year low. Sultan Jabril Mohammad comments, "We're doing what is right for our people given the circumstances."

September 1st, 1979

The Democratic States of Hargeisha, fearing a potential financial crisis, demands that the Sana'a Sultanate remove its fees immediately or face military retaliation. The electorate is mobilized by a chance to strike their old foe and supports their Parliament's decision. Global trade is steadily tapering, with the effects being felt as far away as Worris and Songjiang.

September 12th, 1979

The Gulf Federation voices open support for a military strike against the anti-free trade nations and vows to support Hargeisha. Military exercises are performed dangerously close to the canal zone and contested Red Sea boundaries. Alexandria, still too fragile to even consider removing its tariffs, looks to its europe for assistance. A plea is sent to its socialist brothers to convince, or if needed, strike down the Gulf Federation. Al-Fashir sailors are undeterred by mere threats and continue collecting their fees. The Sana'a Sultanate sends envoys to Al-Fashir for a potential military pact. Global trade screeches to a halt.

Chancellor Bogdanić affirms support for Gulf Federation, stands firm against Alexandria
      Image
Chancellor Augustin Bogdanić (left) and members
      of the Gulf Federation presidency

Chancellor Augustin Bogdanic of the Gold Union visited Riyadh today to discuss with the leaders of the Gulf Federation the ongoing situation regarding the Suez Canal. Following Chairman Jaabir el-Mohammed's tearing apart of the universally-agreed APSIA protocols regarding the ownership of the Suez Canal, Chancellor Bogdanic stated his support for "ending the trade barricades and illegal fees placed by the dictatorial Alexandrian regime."

Following the meeting, Bogdanic reaffirmed the Gold Union's diplomatic and economic support for the Gulf Federation.

"The Gulf is the home to our greatest allies in the Middle East," the Chancellor said. "We will stand firmly at their side against the tide of authoritarian communism."

Many at home have accused Bogdanic of fanning the flames of the red scare, but following the levying of the Suez fees, the cost for the imports from Asia and Africa into the Union have skyrocketed drastically.

"We will see to it that this situation is resolved swiftly," Bogdanic said in a joint statement, "Alexandria should reconsider their draconian measures and let the goods flow freely."

President Red Feather reportedly "creating his own movie"

President Red Feather, who has 1 more year to his first term as president, has reportedly started producing the rumored short film people thought he was making. He spoke to reporters today in Guan who asked him "what's the status on your rumored short movie?" Red Feather answered saying, "it's in production. I'm making this right now. Don't worry, its just a side project. I'm full-time president." We are eager to see the short movie Red Feather creates.

In other news, the Grand Hotel in Mam, which has 84 floors, has finished construction. Jerry Smith, CEO of Pear Inc, a calculator company, has reportedly started the creation of an "advanced calculator" that can do many other functions.

      Ipa presents the new Panda

      Image
The new Panda is aimed at a young audience

The winning weapon of the Panda is the special care dedicated to interior design. The instrumentation collection, the many storage compartments, the absence of pretentious finishes make it an excellent car for young people. One of the strengths of the Panda consist of the front seats and the rear hammock that, through a series of ingenious joints , can be cut down horizontally, forming a single coplanar surface from the steering wheel to the boot lid; you can turn the car into a makeshift bed!

      Image
The new Panda features simplistic but elegant interiors

The Panda is however also appreciated by the "traditional" clientele, with particular regard to the countryside users. In this regard Giorgietto Giugiaro declared that "the specification for the loading capacity had been set to be able to transport 2 bottles of 50 liters of wine in the trunk to the folded sofa". Another characteristic that distinguishes the Panda from the other cars is the flat rather than domed crystals, including the windshield, which allows a significant reduction in mass and weight with regard to side windows and rear window, reducing fuel consumption.
The release is set for the beginning of next year at a really competitive price.

President Watson Continues to Lose Support

President Nick Watson and the Conservative Party have continued to lose support across the country. The President's approval rating has continued to drop in all nationwide polls. Only 29% of the country approves of the job he is doing and it is continuing to drop. Along with this, he has fallen to third place in national polling for the upcoming 1980 Presidential Election. Progress Party candidate, Joseph Graham, has overtaken him in national polls. National Liberty Party candidate, Ronald Reagan, has remained in the lead.

As to why Nick Watson has fallen so far in the polls many people view him as a weak leader. He has failed to get any significant legislation passed. Along with this, it was discovered that the Chief Executive of the Department of Agriculture was involved in a massive drug smuggling operation across the country. This has caused the rise of further doubts in his administration.

The Conservative Party itself has even started to express doubts in the President. Many high-level members of the party believe that he should not be the one to run for President.

"President Watson should drop out of the race and let someone else take his place", said Conservative Councillor Landon Greer, " He is not fit to be President and he will spell doom for the Conservatives in the election."

The United Sietskian Socialist Republics

Protecting the Socialist Means
It is a glorious day to live in Sietsk. Our leader, Vasilev Siekmeshko, can confirm this. Every year, factories produce more. Every day, the People work more. Every day, the Sietskian Liberation army faces more challenges in protecting the citizens of Sietsk. Yet, they manage to do it perfectly every time. However, not all nations have the same luck as us. The People's Republic of Alexandria is a good example of a country that is currently struggling to improve itself. A country that strives to free itself from the decadent Capitalism, by taking back what is rightfully theirs. The United Sietskian Socialist Republics wishes to announce all the nations in this world that the People's Republic of Alexandria has the right to control the Suez canal the way they want, and that we will help them to protect this right. Even if that involves using the great military God has given us.

The Council asks the Anti-Free Trade Block in Arabia to lift the tariffs

      Image
Head of the Council Federico Piazza (left) talking about the situation with a member of staff.

"This kind of selfish actions is what is holding countries like Alexandria from reaching their full potential" commented today Federico Piazza, Head of the High Council. "We cannot allow that the consequences of the actions of some misguided individuals hurt an entire continent; we ask the Republic of Alexandria and Sana'a Sultanate to lift their tariffs and meet at the diplomatic table to discuss with the nations in the area to discuss a long term development programme, surely more productive than a foolish war fueled only by blind political idealism."

The Emperor will be stepping down officially on January 13th of the new year

Princess Ming Shan Mai has been named Successor to the throne by Emperor Ming Lu Po. She would normaly have been the 23rd in line to the throne were it not for the emperors declaration and this has created no small amount of a stir in Parliament no doubt who still have to approve the emperors decision.

Although the specifics for Emperors decision have not been made public it is well known that she has been favored by him as well as being a popular figure with parlement, and the public at large making her an excelent choice if not the one most following tradition.

The Emperor will be stepping down officialy on january 13th of the new year on Princess Ming Shan Mai's Birthday. This will have the effect of combining two national holidays for Songjiang into one the Monarchs birthday, and day they ascend to the throne.

The Prime Minister has shown support for the emperors decision and is urging Parliament to ratify the decision.

The Emperor stepping down has come however as a bit of surprise as he seemed focused on campaigning in parliament for an invasion of China to unify us with our lost brothers and sisters. this has however not been a particularly important subject for the Princess Ming Shan Mai. After he steps down the Emperor will be assuming full command of the 25th Air command of the Imperial Air Force which he currently is only the honorary commander of.

Aglanov inaugurated into office|Coast guard deport Danubian fishermen

Yesterday Boris Aglanov was inaugurated into office following his victory by a slim majority earlier this year. The ceremony in Sofia started and ended without any issues, with several military parades held throughout the country by the Vostravian People's Armada.

In his inauguration speech towards the end of the ceremony, Aglanov promised to improve Vostravia 'in every way possible', with a particular emphasis on the construction of new factory complexes in Serbia & Romania, roads and railways in Kosovo and Montenegro, as well as the expansion of the People's Navy in the Meditteranean. Regarding the current situation in the Middle East/Northern Africa, Aglanov has stated that he 'will take action', although he did not elaborate on what he means.

In other news, earlier this morning the People's Coast Guard arrested an illegal Danubian fishing crew and their vessel off the coast of Montenegro. The crew of 7 have been deported back to their homeland and their ship has been confiscated by the Vostravian Ministry of Law Enforcement. Due to this incident representatives from the Gold Union of The Danube and our nation will be meeting to discuss the Danube's aggressive claims on rightful Vostravian waters.

      Chairman Jaabir el-Mohammed Slams Critics
      Image
The Honorable Chairman in his Cairo office.

This evening our Chairman delivered a series of scalding remarks towards the slanderous Imperialists that wish to portray our nation as "anti-trade" or "dangerous." We have gathered highlights from the transcript and posted them below for your convenience.

      On the Gulf Federation:
"The snakes of the Federation, who have sabotaged previous business deals that would have
lifted our nation to G20 status, now have to gall to demand 'fairness' when their bottom line is
affected. We will not cater to these monopolistic parasites who are willing to shed the blood of
their workers to save their hegemony. If the Gulf Federation wishes to strike our peaceful republic
then they will have to answer to the Sietskan Flotilla."

      On the Gold Union:
"Where to start with these loud mouthed buffoons? The Gold Union, a nation who's parliament
largely resembles our own, has the gall to label our republic as nothing more than a despotic
'Dictatorship.' Did the Worker's Party of Alexandria not lose the 1966 election to a grassroots
third party nominee? Have our predecessors not stepped down to make way for the people's
new elected leader? Anyone who cannot see our democracy is another victim of inferior for
profit education. They claim to be 'Anti-Authoritarian' but then shake hands with the 'President'
of the Federation. A man who has 'won' re-election for the past four elections. The same one who
struck down any senator who wished to implement term limits. To add to their savagery, the Union
sides with men who would murder us for finding a way to feed our poor and provide them essential
care. The cargo fees are a reaction to the risk of famine, depression, and a complete collapse of
society. We do not take these actions lightly but I will never apologize for feeding my people first."

      On Clanzia:
"Federico Piazza, the fascist apologist, dared slander us as 'anti-trade' for taking emergency
measures to protect our Republic. The opportunist dogs of Al-Fashir have taken to what can only
be described as piracy to fund their war machine only to be completely ignored by the tortellini
head's in Clanzia. Alexandria is pro-trade and has always been so. Such is the Sietskan model taught
to our ancestors. If they wish to aid the situation instead of adding fuel to the fire they should
force the Gulf Federation to cease its cut-throat practices that are slowly killing the Red Sea
community. It should remove the autocrats to the south who stagnate our collective prosperity
with extractive practices. It should help ease our debts incurred by trusting duplicitous politicians
from the Federation. But that won't happen. These career politicians are incapable of doing what
      is right. "

Prime Minister Middleton Stands By Gulf Federation

Image
New Roads Being Built Near Warsaw

Appearing on national news, Prime Minister of Gaiaynd Winston Middleton denounced the illegal actions of Alexandria regarding the Suez canal. Restrictions and laws governing its ownership were laid down years ago for good reason, and now Alexandria stands to break these laws apart and make a mockery of the entire international community. Prime Minister Middleton stated outright that if the situation comes to arms, Gaialynd would stand firmly by the Gulf Federation's side.

Meanwhile, back in Gaialynd, Representative Hobbs announced parliaments new plans to improve upon roads, sewer systems, and public buildings all over Warsaw and in similarly large cities nationwide.

Gulf Federation Mercenaries Murder 11 Near Army Checkpoint
      Image
Rapid Response™, the attack dogs of the Gulf Federation.

This afternoon, a group of six individuals ambushed a convoy of our nation's finest near the Agig Provincial Checkpoint. They indiscriminately fired upon their transports with high powered rifles and vanished within seconds. This cowardly attack killed 11 sons of Al-Fashir and wounded another 23. Patrols are currently combing the area to find the running dogs and bring them to justice. Who could do such a thing? Simple, the Gulf Federation. Their posturing near our waters and threats of military retaliation have shown us their true nature.

We can already hear the foreign media claiming that we're speaking non-sense. That our analysis is biased. Well, citizens, we're happy to report that the entirety of the attack was captured on tape. CCTV footage revealed a multi-ethnic force, well equipped, and certainly not African. Analysis of the crime scene and the footage showed enough correlating data to definitively state that the infamous "security" firm, Rapid Response™ is to blame. The Riyahd based firm has been caught enacting the will of the Federation whenever it was too scared to gets its hands dirty.

To the Gulf Federation: Al-Fashir will never bend the knee to your demands. Our tariffs will be doubled effective immediately until the cost of human life has been recovered.

To the World at Large: Should you continue irresponsibly backing the Gulf Federation out of short-term convenience, let it be known that the monster you're creating has a track record of betrayal, terrorism, and economic manipulation. You will reap what you sow.

Snap elections called as Red Sea Crisis heats up
      Image
      His Majesty Otto III

Per the request of Chancellor Bogdanic, His Majesty Otto III has announced that snap elections to the Congress of Deputies would be held by the end of the year. This announcement comes after the ongoing developments in the Suez Canal and Red Sea, where trade between the Gold Union and countries beyond the Mediterranean has been hit badly.

Augustin Bogdanic, Chancellor of the Gold Union, seeks to expand his government's mandate in the face of the oncoming troubles caused in regards to the ongoing Red Sea crisis, as well as the looming specter of communism on the Union's border.

Bogdanic's center-right Federal Autonomy and Justice Party, which forms a coalition with the Agrarian and Populist Party, will be facing off against the Union Constitutionalist, Social-Unionist, and National-Centralist parties in the upcoming election. Current polls show support for Bogdanic's coalition in the loyalist Slavic and conservative Hungarian populations. Meanwhile, the Constitutionalists, a market-liberal alliance composed of several petty-bourgeois classical liberal parties, have support among the Austro-Bohemian elite.

The center-left Social-Unionists see overwhelming support among leftists in the south and east, while the National-Centralists are very popular within Bavaria, whose population is revanchist and seeks to reverse the policies of federalization.

All four have different approaches on the ongoing Red Sea crisis and other geopolitical issues of the day. After calling for the elections, His Majesty Otto III stated his "lasting and faithful allegiance to the Constitution of the Gold Union."

Parliament Passes Conservation Laws for Iberian Lynx
It's no secret that the national animal of Prisalia, the Iberian Lynx, is dwindling in numbers. The Iberian Lynx is currently on the list of endangered species, and the only people who've cared up until now are NGOs. This has just changed. Parliament has just passed a series of laws that are meant to help the Iberian Lynx's population skyrocket.
1. Anyone who kills an Iberian Lynx inside of a reservation is given up to 15 years in prison.
2. Anyone who kills an Iberian Lynx outside of a reservation is given up to 5 years in prison. This does not apply if the defendant can prove their life was in danger.
3. Anyone caught trespassing on an Iberian Lynx reservation is fined up to 10,000 dollars and given up to 3 years in prison depending on wether they had malicious intent or not.
4. The Prisalian Government shall devote 10 million dollars a year to Iberian Lynx preservation.
5. The Prisalian Government shall raise large amounts of Iberian Lynxes in captivity, in order to release them into the wild once they grow old enough.

It is unknown wether this sill bring the population of Iberian Lynxes back to what it used to be, but its surely going to help

President Watson Disappears from Public Again

President Nick Watson has once again suddenly disappeared from the national stage. He has not been seen in public since September 19th and he has hardly been heard from. Only aides close to the administration and his Vice President have spoken for him. This is the seventh time this year that the President has disappeared from the national stage. Many citizens have questioned why the President has disappeared so often, only to get vague responses from the administration.

Critics of the administration have stated that it is irresponsible for the President to disappear for such long lengths of time. Progress Party Candidate, Joseph Graham, had this to say on this matter.

"Where is our President?" he said to a cheering crowd. "What is he doing, he has a duty to serve our country...to serve you!" "Yet he continues to go off somewhere far away and doesn't tell anyone, even when our country needs him the most," he said in reference to the assassination of Alberta Councillor, Jim Dale.

    Graham Speaks about President Watson

Yet, despite the constant criticism, the President has continued to disappear and the administration has seemed to of turned a blind eye to the issue. If the President and his administration continue to disappear, it could result in a disastrous election for them.

Foreign Minister Denys Ivanovych speaks out against Alexandria
      Image
Foreign minister Denys Ivanovych making his statement to the public

In responce to recent events, a summit was held to disscuss the current events surrounding The Gulf Federation, The People's Republic of Alexandria and the Suez Canal. This sudden taxation of what was a once protected area has caused unneeded stress to the Odabin economy.

This meeting consisted of Foreign Minister Denys Ivanovych, Prime Minister Paul Benis, and other economic advisors. The meeting came to the consensus that The People's Republic of Alexandria was far in the wrong.

"The republic's blatant lack of empathy for others and haste to dismantle article three shows their incompetence in the international community. They couldn't even be bothered to bring this up with other nations before selfishly jumping the gun." Stated the foreign minister.

Prime Minister Paul Benis added on "The Gulf Federation was correct to denounce that republic. This is a dirty move only fit for a commie."

After that statement, all parties proceeded to exit the summit. The current course of action against this crisis is currently unknown. All that is now is Odabins current standing on the situation. Let us at least hope this influences Alexandria to reconsider their decision.

Upcoming 19th Five-Year Plan Projected to Fall Short of Expectations

Yesterday, leading the opposition, the All-Union Workers' Party (GUAP) sent their twelfth revised draft for the Union's next five-year plan. Although the ruling Christian Utopian-Socialist Party (CFSP) had vowed to take a zero-tolerance stance against the GUAP until the coalition government was invited to edit the plan, the CFSP finally ratified the GUAP's proposal. Councilman Markus Jahn of the CFSP commented that "We didn't want to accept their plan, but we have few options; at this rate, it will already be difficult to make preparations before the implementation of the plan in January. Unfortunately, the GUAP has refused to cooperate with us and failed to fix some of the glaring flaws that their plan still has."

All-Union Workers' Party Declares Support for Deisolation

Since 1915, Isolation has been an official state policy of the UFSCR, unanimously agreed upon by the United Front. After the dissolution of the United Front in 1952, however, there has been no mutually accepted party line. While theoretically, this lack of cooperative guidance could open the door to social democrats or even capitalist parties wedging into the government, the CFSP made it clear in the 1955 Declaration of the Privilege to Govern that only parties which meet the requirements laid out in the constitution are allowed to be legally sanctioned with the privilege to aid in governing the Union. Although he asked for the statement to be recorded as unofficial, Chairman Georg Krahl stated in a recent interview that "[the GUAP's] support for the policy [of deisolation] could be used as grounds for revocation of their privilege to help govern; in other words, this could result in the banning of their party. We'll just have the see what the Inspectorate for Constitutional Compliance says about it."

Sietskian Development Funds
Europe is not a safe continent. The threat of war can be found everywhere. But it is our christian duty to prevent war from happening, and in order to do this, Sietsk will need to help others secure their borders. The government is planning to offer funds to European countries, especially those in Eastern Europe, to be used in improving infrastructure and to help in the general development of the countries involved. Sietsk will also be offering military protection, in order to discourage any hostile acts. Ideally, the following countries will enjoy military protection and the opportunity for economic development: Gaialynd, Odabin, Zaporizhie and Vostravia.

MA ARG to become new standard service rifle • Rikesprasident threatens Alexandria

Long looking to replace the outdated and obsolete SW VABG, the Besgarian Army has announced they will be phasing the 50's era rifle out for the very new and modern MA ARG, created by Muller Armor. The rifle is a new type of weapon called a bullpup rifle. But what is a bullpup? Muller Armor's RND Manager Christian Christiansson says "A bullpup weapon, by definition, has a design where the action is located behind the trigger group. The action is built into the buttstock, thus significantly reducing the overall length of the weapon while maintaining the same full-length barrel of a conventional rifle or shotgun." This innovative design is sure to assist in making sure the Besgarian Army can catch up to it's neighbours and rivals.

This rifle is not cheap however. At almost 1800 K ($999) each, out fitting the entire army with an MA ARG will be quite costly. When questioned about this, the Minister of Defense simply stated, "It is a costly endeavour, but definitely a worth while one."

The Rikesprasident was asked to speak upon the matter of Alexandria at a press conference a couple of days ago. Rikesprasident Oskar Sjokrigare revealed that a meeting between delegations from a collection of European nations had taken place earlier that week. When asked if there was any official plan made to remedy the situation, he simply stated no comment.

Sjokrigare did state however: "The Alexandria Situation threatens the entire stability of Europe, particularly the Mediterranean. Besgaria will not hesitate to take action if necessary." Many are citing Sjokriagre's comments as "militaristic" or even "imperialistic". Leader of the Besgarian National Party, Rainer Söllner, backed up the Rikesprasident. This is quite odd, as the BNP and FCP are usually rivals. If a war is to break out in Alexandria and Besgaria gets involved, it will be Besgaria's military deployment since the 1950's, in the Palaurayan Independence War.

President Fahmi al-Molla Thankful But Cautious For European Support
      Image
President Fahmi during a one on one interview with the Riyahd Herald.

The past few weeks have blessed the Federation with overwhelming support from the European community. They agree with our mission statement to spread fair and free capitalism across the region and have even offered military support. We should be ecstatic as citizens, right?

Well, maybe not. While its tempting to blindly accept outside support, the reality of the matter is that we don't need it. The Federation is more than capable of neutralizing any potential threats to national security. As President Fahmi put it, "We wish to maintain the previous level of trading power enjoyed by Federation. By having a debt, be it fiscal or political, looming over our heads we will be stuck in an inferior negotiating position. We want to trade with Europe, of course, but on our terms."

He went on to add, "Make no mistake, I am humbled by the open support of the European community. Their condemnations of Alexandria and the other 'states' using primitive tariff practices reaffirm our belief that we are on the right side of history. I would like to personally thank their leaders and extend them an invitation to have dinner with my family, but their guns and bombs will have to stay back home."

Quarterly GDP growth is well below expectations and projected to dip further. The Federation continues to play hardball with its neighbors, offering them no quarter in negotiations. The tariffs must end immediately lest things escalate.

October 6th, 1979

UCP: "You need to get the President under control, Prescott, this has gone far enough."

Prescott: "I can't do anything, I can't control him."

UCP: "It's been over two weeks now Prescott! People are suspicious."

Prescott: "There is nothing I can do, he has run off"

UCP: "Wait, what the hell did you just say!"

Prescott: "He's gone, he ran off on Thursday and we haven't been able to find him."

UCP: "You're telling me that the goddamn President of the United States of Kannsa-Minnesota has disappeared!"

Prescott:"Yes."

UCP: "Damn you, Prescott!" "I never should've joined in on your little power play." "If you don't find him the public will completely lose confidence in our government."

Prescott: "I am aware of this.'

UCP: "Here is what you're going to do, you are going to find him. "Then, you are going to get rid of him."

Prescott: "Ok."

UCP: "Then, you are too step out of the race for President or I will personally make sure you do."

Prescott: "Ok."

Diplomatic Mission to Panjal, Palauraya, Nigeria, Sana'a
      Image
A flight leaves from Khartoum to Dehli.

The honorable Lord Macron el-Naqvi has issued an order to his cadre of diplomats to visit the esteemed nations of Panjal, Nigeria, and Sana'a in order to garner their favor in the escalating Red Sea crisis. Lord Macron (blessed be his name), stated that, "While I'm confident in the courage and determination of our armed forces, there is an inescapable truth that the Empire of Fashir will not weather the coming storm without influential allies. Our country has untapped potential that can benefit all parties involved. I have a good feeling that with our centrist policies most nations will come around to supporting our plight."

Over 24 diplomats from Khartoum have left since the order was given, with a potential mission to Standevia still on the table. We can only sit at our desks with crossed fingers and clutched prayer beads as they do their work. We think we speak for all citizens when we say that this is a turning point in our lives.

      Prime Minister Lu Ding

The conference which is to be held in Nusa Dua Bali is being sponsored by Standavia. The Prime Minister has accepted the invitation.

There has been some questions brought up by parliament regarding this conference number one among these is the question of if the false unlawful government of the Chinese Peoples Confederation has had a representative invited and if so how should Songjiang respond.

Although it is common knowledge of almost all Songjiangian citizens the Songjiang parliament refuses to acknowledge as legitimate any nation occupying sovereign lands taken from us in the Yuan rebellions of 1640 or any successor movements of the Yuan Dynasty. however this fact is not well known outside Songjiang and many world nations mistakenly think that the Chinese Peoples Confederation is a legitimate nation.

As a reminder to our readers it should be noted that the Region of Hong Kong was made an acceptation by the Imperial Decree of Sovereignty in 1962 and the Songjiang Imperial Government claims no ownership of this region, likewise Latvichka holds a tiny portion of land that once belong to the empire but this land is also no longer claimed as part of the Ming Dynasties holdings.

The Ming Dynasty are the rightful rulers of all of China and Korea, and through them The Empire of Songjiang and its lawful government is the rightful master of these lands. The honorless and corrupt degenerates current ruling China are pretenders just another in a long line of thieves ruling lands they have no right too.

Defence Budget for 1980 will be increased to 1%
      Image

In a press conference this morning, Councilor Fidi announced a progressive increase of the Republic's military spending up to 0.5% of GDP in 1980. A long-awaited but important announcement from the Defense Advisor in view of the growing importance of the Mediterranean in the world. This budget increase will mainly be diverted to the Army Air and Naval sector, in view of a need to "protect our sea routes from any kind of future aggression". In conjunction with this increase in the budget, the Director presented a plan of medium-term renewal and expansion of our fleet, starting with the construction of the first aircraft carrier in the Republic, whose details have not yet been made public. With this intervention Councilor Tria also hopes to strengthen the Naval Airborne sector of our country, with ItalCantieri certainly among the favorites to get the contract.
