2018 Posters Awards: WINNERS ANNOUNCED!

With Forsher's blessing (the previous host of the Poster Awards in 2015 and 2016), I hereby host the 2018 Poster Awards for Nation States General.

The poster awards are a fun way of acknowledging NSG posters for posting good content; the only reward for winning is being able to put the award in your signature (if you feel that's worth doing). You are encouraged to be objective in your nominations. Joke nominations are fine and will also be counted.

Nominations may be entered from now until the end of August 12th (Eastern Time). At that time I will tally up all the votes and shortly after announce the winners.

The categories are:

Award for Excellence in the Field of Debating

In Forther's previous words, "This is not for those posters who express your positions with the most skill and clarity but rather for any poster, regardless of ideology, who brings uncommon talent to bear in arguing for any ideological position. There are Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards in this category."

Award for Excellence in Posting

In Forsher's previous words, "Sometimes you see a poster's name in the "most recent post" bit for a thread and you click on it just to see what they wrote, because they are who they are. As the old intro to this award said: "their posts/threads amuse, enlighten, inform, inspire and make you want to participate. There are also Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards in this category."

Zooke Memorial Goodwill Award

F: "The Zooke Memorial Award for High Charity and overall Kindness. So often in the hustle and bustle of the forums we become easily enraged and forget that this is only a game. Zooke helped keep us friendly and never said an offensive word to anyone. This is in memory of her. May she never be forgotten."

Keeping You Cool (KYC) Award

F: "When a thread threatens to go down in flames, this poster remains calm and doesn't let heated tensions get to them... even when they're the target of the hostility."

If you want to change your nominations please note the changes in RED ITALICS.

If you nominate a poster for Gold = 3, Silver = 2 and Bronze = 1 with the highest total score determining final placement, unless anyone has a problem with that. For single award categories it's a simple most nominations system.

Nominations will be taken and counted until the end of August 12th (Eastern Time).
