WGP2 Season 2: Signup and OOC Thread

-WGPC 16 RP Thread
-Car Template 1
-Car Template 2

Welcome to Season 2 of the WGP2, the multiverse's second tier of motorsport. Following the 16th season of WGPC, it's time to see whether some young talents from the junior leagues can follow in the footsteps of Terho Talvela, Ryker Lane and this season's WGPC champion Jessica Franssen in providing a thrilling series.

The WGPC is the NS version of RL Formula 1, making the WGP2 the answer to the RL GP2 series. However there are some differences. Formula 1 banned ground effect, active suspension and smoking in the pit garage some time ago in the name of health and safety. This hasn't happened in the WGPC, so how a team designs its car is entirely up to the team owner and if the car goes up in flames, it's entirely self-inflicted.

Having said that, there are still some regulations and a WGP2 car will have significantly less power than a WGPC car. Further details on this will be found in the IC thread when it goes up.

The WGP2 is divided into two stages, the negotiation phase and the racing phase. In the negotiation phase, drivers aim to show off their talents to teams in order to get themselves a drive, whilst teams aim to fill both of their available cars with someone to pilot it. The racing bit kind of speaks for itself.

Signups:

As in the WGPC, it is possible to sign up drivers, team and circuit for the WGP2. Details of how to do this are below:

To begin with, every user can sign up a maximum of TWO drivers. These drivers can either be from one nation, or two different nations. It is recommended that first time NS Sports RP’ers only stick to the one driver to begin with, unless they feel confident and committed enough that they can handle two. Every driver starts off as a free agent, meaning they are not affiliated to any team. Drivers sign up to teams via roleplay in the RP thread, which will be created soon, though it is customary to ask around the users who control racing teams (more on them later) to let them know you're available. Please note that drivers can only sign for one team in a season (mainly for scorination purposes).

The more RPing you do with your driver, the higher your RP bonus. The higher your RP bonus, the faster your driver is likely to be on the circuit, and the more likely a team is to sign them.

To sign-up a driver, fill in the following form:

Driver Name:
Name Trigram:
Nationality Trigram:
Preferred Number:
Reliability (Between 2 and 5):
Aggression (Between 2 and 5):
Technique (Between 2 and 5):
R/A/T ratings should add up to a maximum of 12.
BIO:

A TRIGRAM is three letters that identify your driver. RL examples of this are HAM for Lewis Hamilton and VER for Max Verstappen. NATIONALITY TRIGRAMS are the same, but for your country. RL examples are CAN for Canada, GBR for Great Britain and SLO for Slovenia.

Preferred NUMBERS may be between 2 and 99 inclusive. The number 1 is reserved for the number one driver at the team who won the constructor's championship last season, should they elect to re-enter.

RELIABILITY is a measure of your driver's tendency to finish races and generally not crash into things. An incredibly reliable driver gets a rating of 5 and one who normally has an incident-packed race gets a 2.

AGGRESSION is a measure of how often your driver will make attacking overtaking and defensive moves. A highly aggressive driver will often make daring and opportunistic overtakes and gets a 5 whilst a very conservative driver will seek to make only safer overtakes and will leave more space for opponents when defending. This results in fewer overtakes being made, but a lower risk of crashes and a higher proportion of successful overtakes, and gets a 2.

TECHNIQUE is a measure of your driver's skill at quickly negotiating twists and turns in the circuit. A driver with good handling skills gets a 5 and a driver who prefers to find speed in other areas gets a 2.

BIO is where you should post a paragraph or two about your driver. This can include age, where they come from in your nation, how they got into racing, which racing series they have already competed in and their driving style, among other things. It doesn't have to be an essay, but bear in mind that it is a fairly major part of the IC side to driver recruitment.

Driver Name: Ekatarina Julic
Name Trigram: JUL
Nationality Trigram: MTJ
Preferred Number: 24
Reliability (Between 2 and 5): 4
Aggression (Between 2 and 5):3
Technique (Between 2 and 5):5
R/A/T ratings should add up to a maximum of 12.
BIO: Ekatarina Julic is the latest talent to emerge from Mattijana's central region. The 20 year old Puljankan won Mattijana's top domestic racing championship, soon to become a certified WGP3 event, last year and has the highly technical style needed to get around many Mattijanan circuits such as the Kopylov InternazionRing.
Having said that, her roots go back elsewhere with much of her family, including mother Zinovija, coming from the north-east, a region famed for its rally-driving prowess.
The next step for Ekatarina as she looks to eventually reach the WGPC is to get to grips with not only foreign circuits, but the whole circus that surrounds an international racing series.
Julic has generally established a reputation as a mature and down-to-earth character, but the pressures of international racing will test that to the limit. The youngster has a few fiery moments in her and developing her mental toughness will be as important as improving her driving technique.

Signups in bold are provisionally accepted, but require a change to the driver number as #1 may only be used by the number one driver at last year's winning team (VMR). #15 is fine, but is already taken by Janne Laukkanen. Post the altered number in the thread or TG me.

Rejected Signups:
07 Boris Ludenhoff BLF BLR 3/4/4
52 Markel Shemakker MSR INS 4/4/5

Both signups rejected due to the R/A/T score not adding up to 12. Markel Shemakker also sounds a lot like Michael Schumacher, so a more original name would be nice. Please post the changes in a new signup, with the R/A/T score adding up to 12.

Team sign-ups work a little differently compared to other sports. Team sign-ups are semi-open, meaning anyone is allowed to register a team, but only a few will be selected. Selection will be decided by me and will be done on the basis of RP evidence and the attributes that go with it. Note that RP evidence covers all sports in NS, so if you are a first time WGPC participant, do not be discouraged from entering a team if you have RPd well elsewhere. Please also note that there will be no test-driver slots and there will only be two drivers per team.

The onus is on teams to RP well, for enjoyments sake as well as to reap the benefits of a decent RP bonus. Running a team in the WGP2 is a large responsibility that should not be taken lightly. There will be a limit of ONE team per user.

Users that RP well will find not only that their drivers go faster, but their teams perform better too. The combination of a well-RP'd driver racing for a well RP'd team will make for a very competitive team, though it’s worth stressing that, due to the random nature of scorinators, RPing well is not a guarantee of success, it merely improves your chances.

Also, just as teams are free to fire drivers if they feel they aren't performing (ie the user isn't RPing enough), drivers are free to quit teams they feel are not giving them the help they need (ie the user isn't RPing enough). Although it rarely happens in Formula One nowadays, there is the possibility to remove teams during the season and enter new ones, if there is little or no activity from the user. All changes are at the discretion of myself and fellow WGPC members.

To register a team, fill in the following form:

Team Name:
Team Nationality (Trigram):
Reliability (Between 2 and 5):
Aerodynamics (Between 2 and 5):
Technical and Engineering Skills: (Between 2 and 5):
R/A/T ratings should add up to a maximum of 12.
BIO:
Livery:

RELIABILITY is a measure of how unlikely your car is to break down. A rock solid car which picks up very few technical faults gets a 5 and a highly temperamental one gets a 2.

AERODYNAMICS (aero) is a measure of how well your car interacts with the air around it in order to quickly cut through the air and generate downforce to corner more quickly. This includes the quality of the car's front and rear wings, as well as the rest of the bodywork and the floor of the car. A car with cutting-edge aero gets a 5 and one which functions more like a brick than a racing car gets a 2.

TECHNICAL AND ENGINEERING SKILL refers to the rest of the car's inner workings including the engine, gearbox, brakes, steering, suspension, balance and anything else that makes up the car. A well-engineered car gets a 5 whilst one cobbled together from spare parts with little thought gets a 2.

As with driver signups, BIO is the place to give a little bit of IC information about your team. This can refer to its history, owners, style, financing and base town/city. Heavy duty details of the technical side is not required, but if you like that kind of thing, go for it.

LIVERY is where to put details of your car's colours. Here a picture is preferable and there are a number of templates that can be modified in MS Paint or something similar to produce a perfectly satisfactory image. A link to a couple of these will be posted in the links section below. An image is not however compulsory.

Team Name: MRT2
Team Nationality (Trigram): MTJ
Reliability (Between 2 and 5): 3.5
Aerodynamics (Between 2 and 5):3.5
Technical and Engineering Skills: (Between 2 and 5):5
R/A/T ratings should add up to a maximum of 12.
BIO: The imaginatively-named MRT2 is the second string of WGPC constructor's champions MRT and are the outfit tasked with handling Mattijana's debut WGP2 season. Johan Struna gives way to his MRT deputy Maria Jamasova as team principal whilst there are also a number of changes in the engineering department as those involved in the team's intense WGPC season get a well-deserved break.
Despite this, the team maintains its reputation for building very technically-focused and innovative cars and will be seeking drivers to compliment the machine's sensitivity.
After the success in the main championship, the expectation from both within and outside Mattijana will be high and a competitive car is a must, along with the clever driver recruitment that also characterises the team.

Each user may sign up a maximum of TWO grand-prix circuits, and no more than one per nation (meaning one circuit from your main nation and one from a puppet is fine).

Signing up a circuit is not a guarantee that it will be used in the upcoming WGPC season. Currently, the plan is to have between 8 and 12 races throughout the season depending on the number of good quality circuits recieved. Good spare circuits will be used for pre-season or in-season testing. Race distance will be 200km.

It is also important to provide an image of your circuit (no larger than 900 x 900 pixels, of course). Providing an image is compulsory for your circuit to become one of those that will be used for the upcoming season.

To sign up a circuit, fill in the following form:

Circuit Name:
Grand Prix Name:
Track Image:
Lap Record (F1/WGPC Car):
Track Length (km):
Qualifying Type (Traditional or Two-Tiered):
Chance of being a wet race (1%-20%)
Overtaking difficulty (0.1 - 5. 0.1 is easy, 5 is difficult):
Margin for Error (0.1 - 5. 0.1 is forgiving, 5 is treacherous):

Aggressiveness (1-10):
Technical Difficulty (1-10):
(Both these numbers should add up to 10)
BIO:

NAME is the name of the circuit itself. For example in RL, the F1 circuit in Britain is Silverstone.

GRAND PRIX NAME is the name of the WGP2 race that will take place at the circuit. In RL, the British Grand Prix is held at Silverstone.

TRACK IMAGE is simply a picture of your circuit's layout. It is compulsory for acceptance onto the calendar. It doesn't have to be a masterstroke of graphic design, but should be fairly neat and include details such as corner numbers and where the start line and pit lane are situated.

LAP RECORD is the fastest time a WGPC (F1) spec car has ever set around the circuit, not the lap record for a WGP2 car. It should ideally be no shorter than one minute and no longer than 2 minutes and 20 seconds. Going slightly over or under these limits will probably not be a problem, but majorly exceeding them will probably result in the circuit being rejected.

TRACK LENGTH is the distance of your circuit, measured in kilometres. Again tracks that are too long or too short will not be considered. Over 7km would probably be too long. Under 3km would be too short.

QUALIFYING TYPE is the method used to decide each car's starting position for the race. A single ninety-minute free-for-all in which every driver gets ten laps in which to record the fastest lap-time possible is known as the Traditional qualifying type, and if you would like your grand prix to use this qualifying type, say so in this field.

Two-tier is similar to what is currently used in formula one. In the first, fifty-minute session the drivers record up to six flying laps. The ten fastest go on to tier two, the slower ones drop out and will line up in positions 11 to 24 on race-day. In the second session, the ten fastest drivers record up to three flying laps over a twenty-five minute period. The driver with the slowest time of this period will start 10th, the second-slowest 9th and so on.

CHANCE OF RAIN is fairly self explanatory. However, unless your country really is soggy, please refrain from going too high up the scale. 15% should be enough to guarantee a reasonably high proportion of wet or changeable sessions.

OVERTAKING DIFFICULTY is also fairly simple. A wide circuit with plenty of long straights and sharp corners should yield plenty of overtaking opportunities and gets a 0.1. A tight and narrow circuit with plenty of twisty turns gets a 5.

MARGIN FOR ERROR is a measure of how easy it is to crash around the circuit. A circuit such as Monaco in RL has plenty of close barriers, is narrow and has little run off, so gets a 5. Somewhere which is wide with plenty of tarmac run off gets a 0.1.

TRACK RATING is, like the driver ability rating, comprised of numerical values. The first value is Aggressiveness. Aggressive circuits are wide with plenty of opportunities to overtake. The second value is Technical Difficulty. A track with a high TD rating suits more technically skilled drivers, and the circuit may be more difficult to overtake on. The numbers should add up to ten. (ie 4/6, 3/7, 5/5)

BIO is a short description of the track. You can provide the track's history and/or give a description of one lap around the circuit. Whatever takes your fancy.

Of course the two usual rules apply. No ovals and no RL circuits please.

Circuit Name: Revinka Street Circuit
Grand Prix Name: Grand Prix tsa Mattijana

Aggressiveness (1-10): 3.5
Technical Difficulty (1-10): 6.5
(Both these numbers should add up to 10)
BIO: The Revinka Street Circuit was first raced on around 40 years ago as open wheel racing spread across the country of Mattijana. A course was mapped out around the promenade, harbour and old town of Revinka as well as the hills and coast of the nearby district of Lubenice.

The start/finish straight is situated on the promenade road adjacent to the city's main beach and feeds into a fast right-hander that winds around the base of Revinka castle. That switches back into a slower left-hander that releases cars onto the edge of the harbour. A few 90° corners take the circuit around the harbour's edge to the end of sector 1.

Sector 2 is a scarier piece of track. A more open, but still winding coast road takes cars around the bottom of the hills along the coast to the suburb of Lubenice where a tight left-handed leads the cars steeply uphill into the centre of Lubenice through a double hairpin. Turn 13 once again opens the track up onto a more open section as some edge of the seat and undulating corners bring the circuit back down to sea level with the barriers a little too close for comfort.

The final sector is a more direct one. A fast left-hander at 21 leads into a short straight before the fast section from 22 to 24 featuring the right-hander at 23 that can just about be taken flat. The final couple of 90°turns flow back onto the promenade.

It's tight, it's fast and you wouldn't get away with it in real life.

BIO: Arjenko is a young driver that was born in the south of Russica, quite close to Yarkovo, where the Savojar Grand Prix is located. The 22 year old is in the Savojarna Racing Development Program that has pushed Sigur Bjarnason to the WGPC, and following in the footsteps of his idol is Roman's biggest dream. Unlike most Savojar drivers, he has no rallye experience but drove kart races and closed-wheel series before the expansion of open-wheel racing. His biggest triumph was the victory over his idol Bjarnason in the Savojar Youth Racing Championship, where the WGPC driver joined as a star guest. Arjenko is an aggressive and audacious driver who always pursues victory at all costs. Off the track, he is rather impulsive and extremely driven to the point of obsession with little details if he believes they make him win. An extremely competitive driver, most of his actions are driven by the question of "does this make me win?"

NAME OF CIRCUIT: Yarkovo International Circuit
CITY/TOWN: Yarkovo (ca. 75 km southeast of Novaya Russica)
COUNTRY: Savojarna
NAME OF GRAND PRIX: Grand Prix of Savojarna
QUALIFYING TYPE: Two-Tier
LAP RECORD: 01:15.856 - set by Jean Mercer-Daly in the WGPC 16 test session
CHANCE OF RAIN: 8%
OVERTAKING DIFFICULTY: 1.5
MARGIN FOR ERROR: 3.75
LENGTH OF ONE LAP: 4.891 km
TRACK RATING: 7/3
BIO: Savojarna decided to accompany its debut in the WGPC with a new, purpose-built race track in the fields outside the small town of Yarkovo, southeast of Novaya Russica. The areal is highly modern and planned by the best race-track designer of Savojarna, Lauris Peramäki. Peramäki has been the chief track designer of the Savojar Automobile Racing Association for over 15 years, being in charge of the national championships in both rallye and road racing. The SARA has designed the track together with engineers of the Technical University of Pawlograd, in order to provide a safe and spectacular racing experience. The track does offer good opportunities to overtake thanks to its high speed layout broken by tight corners which provide possibilities for attacks. It tests technical ability of drivers through its corners, their bravery and skill through its high-speed nature and the limits of brakes and aerodynamics through the highspeed corners of sector 3.

The start of the track is located on the main straight, and cars enter a slightly over 90°-Turn after the main straight. This is a prime opportunity for overtaking as the cars need to lose a large amount of speed to turn around T1 with 100-110 km/h. Following it, there is a combination of three fast turns that provide a challenge to drivers as they are challenged with finding the ideal speed for these corners. The cars then speed up again as they leave Sector 1, approaching the first of two challenging chicanes. The combination of turn 5-7 is another point where drivers have to break heavily and turn through three difficult corners, offering drivers good opportunities to overtake "on the brake". Rushing down towards Turn 8, the cars pass the first DRS detection line to brake hard again, slowing to ca. 130 km/h for Turn 8. Following T8, there is the longest full-speed part of the track. Turn 9 offers a special challenge to the driver's audacity. The kink is usually passable in full speed if the weather is good, but the fact that there are walls only 1.5m next to the track leaves almost no margin for error at this point. At the exit of Sector 2, the combination of turns 10 to 12 offers yet another good opportunity for overtaking. The track is wide there, but the corners are tight, so that skilled pilots will be able to pass their opponents as they have to brake from over 300 km/h, the course's top speed, to around 100 km/h for Turn 10. The wavy lines of sector 3 then offer a challenge to the cars aerodynamics, as only those with the best downforce will be able to pass this highspeed section with maximum power. Turn 15 and 16 finally offer yet another challenge that forces drivers to brake quickly, opening gaps for others to overtake them.

Some specialists speculated he could be suffering from depression, caused by overwork. After the end of WGPC season, he resigned from Maud Formula Team, and left off for a "disconnected" vacation at his summer house in Cap Navarre, Alice Bay. Lemos cut off his connections with near everyone, just giving his Alicean phone number to five people: His protegée Lourdina Westgrens, his bride Ludwika Wiel, his niece Venelana, His former engineer/team chief, Andrea Lanza and the LAB president, Damien Ader. BIO: Based on Lisander, Superia Junior Team is the LAB-owned team (other interested companies didn't match the required criteria to run a team), partly backed by Ministry of Sport and Lisander Autosports Board sponsors, like the biggest automotive company in the nation, Camden Motors, co-creators of the new car.
The car itself, named KS-02, built in partnership between LAB, Camden and KB Motorworks, comes with an updated bodywork when compared to the previous LAB-certified drive, Ignis Racing KBx-05D. The rear wing (DRS-prepared) is taller and smaller, the shark fin is now bigger, wheels are lighter, and a bargeboard was added. Camden also brings a new 3.6 engine and a revamped suspension. The structure has carbon insets, combined with polycrystalline panels who capture heat from the sun and/or from the car itself and turns it into an undisclosed amount of electric extra power (branded EBGP, "Electric Boost Generator Polycrystalline"), to be used together with DRS wing.
Livery: A silver car, with bargeboards, shark-fin, front and rear wings in carbon black. Logos in electric lime. Selected drivers are expected to bring sponsors for the team, so the livery will be presented after drivers are signed.

BIO: Unlike many WGPC and WGP2 newcomers, 17 year old Janne Laukkanen's CV is relatively bare. Born and raised in Kylmäjärvi, Aboveland, his driving development was based around ice racing on the almost year round frozen lakes in the now Abovian territory near his home, sliding his way to first place in the regional ice crosskart championships a total of three times, between ages 10 and 13. As the Abovian circuit racing scene grew, and the youngster's talent began to gain momentum, the Laukkanens flocked to sunny Pæhkinoot for Janne to participate in the freshly-inaugurated Furuhøytie Virtapiiri driving academy, almost exclusively topping the timesheets of the various trials the drivers underwent. As the circuit faced closure after a brutal accident at the tunnel section from none other than Axel Novikov during a WGPC qualifying session, the Laukkanen family development fund began to run dry, and Janne was forced to return to his home in Kylmäjärvi, albeit with an international racing license firmly in his hands.

Renowned for his fearless, balls-out, yet meticulous, driving style, and now backed by a surprise investment from sponsors looking to cleanse the Abovian name in WGP2 following Novikov Racing's lackluster debut and final season, Janne looks to grace the racing world for round two of his budding racing career by entering in WGP2. What is more, in charge of getting the Abovian back into the groove is none other than volunteer mentor, and season 14 WGPC champion, Terho Talvela.

Questions:
For a subterranean track, it makes no sense for there to be a nonzero chance of rain. Does there have to be a minimum 1% anyway(FanTech/late PMT/very early FT nation)?

Is the track length, for the purpose of the images, basically a guestimate and not to scale, or is it supposed to look about 200km (in other words, not look too long or too short)?

Team Name: Nexus Racing
Team Nationality (Trigram): NIM

Reliability (Between 2 and 5): 3.75
Aerodynamics (Between 2 and 5): 4.8
Technical and Engineering Skills: (Between 2 and 5): 3.45
R/A/T ratings should add up to a maximum of 12.

BIO: By some people’s standards, Nexus Racing’s WGPC 16 campaign would be deemed a failure. Widely considered the favourites to win the Constructors’ Championship and, according to one commentator, ‘the strongest team on paper’, the Nimban team suffered from a Ryker Lane who could not seem to consistently muster the performance that had secured him his WGPC 15 world title alongside a plague of mechanical issues. All of this culminated in a double DNF in the final race in Audioslavia, the second of which saw Jean Mercer-Daly crash heavily (supposedly due to malign interference with the team’s Imagination convertors) and receive injuries that could have crippled him. Where the team had hoped to secure first in the title fight, they ended up fourth.

To say that the Nimban team has lost its way after a blinding debut year, however, would be a significant overstatement. Certainly, it would be fair to argue that the UHSGV-2 was overengineered; nonetheless, the car was markedly swifter than its predecessor, regularly setting fastest times in Practice and Qualifying, and in spite of their reliability issue the team scored points that would have been enough to land them second place in most seasons. Moreover, they still have two committed WGPC drivers on their books, both of whom are capable of beating the best in the world when on top of their game. They clearly have the strength to be champions; they merely need to convincingly manifest it.

Thus we come to WGP2. Nexus Racing’s stated aim when entering the new category last year was to use it both as a testbed to develop the next WGPC season’s Chase Cutter and to train promising racers for entry into the highest tier of international motorsport under the Nexus Racing banner. As of yet, the latter looks to be coming on quite well; while Lukar Urdaneta has been unceremoniously swallowed up by the aether, Rebecca Darlington’s win at the inaugural Nimban Grand Prix and her growing consistency in the season’s latter stages as she came to grips with her Rapier’s unique qualities, alongside the support from her friendship with Jean as her former teammate, mean that the team have confidence in her going forward. The former, however, is just as, maybe even more important for Nexus Racing’s long-term success, for there is no better time to regroup and refine the UHSGV-3 than now. With a new Imagikinetic/Imagielectric array in development, better aerodynamics just about complete and an energised, diverse and inventive team of elite engineers ready to act, it would be an unwise observer who would view the Nimban racing outfit as finished.

Aggressiveness: 6.3

BIO: With the success of Nexus Racing apparent from the very beginning of the WGPC 15 season after Marika Pedanovic won the first race and champion-to-be Ryker Lane achieved fourth in the second along with a clear public interest from high native viewing figures, Jacob Gibbons, Nimban Minister for Sport, saw immediately an opportunity for the Nexus Wardship of Former Citizens of the Nimbus System to carve out a place for itself in worldwide motor racing. Thus, Crossbay Circuit, the first purpose-built racetrack in the Wardship and the world’s first track with significant underground and water-crossing sections, was born.

The people of the Nimban origin universe have a long and proud tradition of constructing race circuits in areas of astounding natural beauty; Crossbay Circuit continues this tradition, running across, through and below the stark dolomite rock cliffs of Nimbus Bay and, in parts, above its sparkling waters. The circuit itself was pulled together from parts of three of the Nimban origin universe’s most famous tracks, Vertigo Loop Racetrack, Keelhaul Canyon Raceway and Dragonmaw Chasm Raceway. It has so far played host to two races, one in last season’s WGP2, won in dominant fashion by Nexus Racing’s Rebecca Darlington, and another in the last WGPC season in which home favourite and World Champion Ryker Lane dominated even more mightily all weekend before being beaten in the closing stages of the race by the charging Polaris of Erica Okumura, winning praise throughout both for its swift-flowing design and dramatic elevation changes, and is home to the new headquarters of Nexus Racing. Interestingly, due to poor weather in both Practice and Qualifying sessions of the latter race, the course’s lap record remains that set by Ryker Lane on his ceremonial lap to open the circuit in his Championship-winning UHSGV-1.

Crossbay Circuit is also run through with the latest advances in Nimban technology. Roman-style concrete has been used for its hydraulic properties and decreased environmental footprint to construct the bridges for the over-water sections of the course. In terms of Imagitech, a large Imagikinetic force field, permeable to nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen but impermeable to all else, overtops the track and divides spectators from the cars, both keeping pollutants sealed in where they are scrubbed from the air by industrial-scale machinery underneath the track and serving as nigh-on unbreakable protection for fans from rogue car parts, while a more recent innovation has been the addition of Imagikinetic convertors to remove debris or damaged cars from the track; more traditional belt-and-tyre barriers line the bottom of the circuit or, where they exist, its runoff areas.

A lap of the track begins in Sector 1 with a short run down the end of the start/finish straight to Turn 1, a long and smooth left-hander that is deceptively tight in the middle of the turn, as well as descending by a few metres over its course. From Turn 1 a tiny straight leads into the gentle Turn 2 before the car enters the first of the two tunnels on the course, descending rapidly into an underground stadium section featuring the moderately tight Turn 3 and the hairpin of Turn 4. This section is downhill all the while, making it quite the challenge for drivers. The track then passes under itself before shooting down and out of the cliffs into the water-crossing Sector 2.

Immediately drivers are forced to deal with the esses of Turns 5, 6 and 7. While 5 does demand something of a decrease in speed, the latter two can be taken surprisingly quickly; the measure of a good driver here will be how much momentum they can retain into the straight leading up to the nudge that is Turn 8 and the sweeping, ever so slightly banked Turn 9. After Turn 9 the chicane of Turns 10 and 11 provides another momentum-holding test into Turn 12, which technically begins immediately after Turn 11 but really comprises the mid-speed corner at the very end of the sector.

Sector 3 is by far the fastest of the sectors. Drivers dart into the cliff tunnel after 12 to face a long, climbing straight broken only by Turn 13, a left-hander that may as well not exist for all of the change in speed that it necessitates. Immediately after the tunnel is Turn 14, a slightly tighter but still fast right-hand turn, before a straight that leads to Turn 15, probably the sector’s slowest part. From there a small straight and the chicane of 16 and 17 brings drivers back to the far end of the start/finish straight and, through that, the finish line.

Due to the scorinator, there has to be a 1% chance of rain minimum, but you’d have to be very unlucky to get it. There’s always the chance of a leaky ceiling or broken sprinkler I guess.

Track length is just a guesstimate, but the 200km mark is the total race distance, made up of many laps of the circuit. Track length, which is what needs to go on the signup, is the distance of one lap and is usually between 3 and 7 km.

BIO: One of KISMO's academy drivers, Chiemi raced for the marque's NSSCRA team, but despite the support she got from the team's personal sponsors, she failed to make the playoffs. Citing her desire to race open-wheel cars, she decided to pave her road to the WGPC by accepting an offer from KISMO to race for the Filindostani outfit, Ibuna-Gambal Racing. She will be the lead driver of the team and they hope that she will achieve better results than what she had for the NSSCRA outfit.

Taken up by the Gambal family after her mother abandoned her following Tyrone's death, she found the world of motorsport difficult to escape from. Originally wanting to be a professional football player, Tyra eventually decided to pursue a career in motorsports. She sees IGR as a platform to kickstart her racing career, and hopes that despite her designation as second driver, she can beat the KISMO-installed Chiemi Hino in the championship.

BIO: Ibuna-Gambal Racing by KISMO is a racing team formed by two Sangtians, Rudolf Ibuna, and Bryant Gambal, and is the de-facto factory junior team of the Kissan Motorsport (KISMO) marque. Ibuna, the CEO and the majority owner of the team, signed a long-term partnership with KISMO that will enable the latter to supply engine and technical support for the team, as well as an option to take up a driver spot, which they did with installing Chiemi Hino to the lead driver role.

Taking up the characteristics of a powerful brunt of their Kissan engines, they however compromised some of the engine power to improve their cornering speed, which the KISMO main team sorely lacked in their maiden WGPC season. However, the IGR chassis was already built to equalize cornering and straight line speed, so the engine power would take higher points with a little sacrifice to reliability.

IGR will not hold any drivers' test for the upcoming WGP2 season if both Hino and Tyra Tabuso make the cut as they wlll be set as the two drivers for the team. Shigeru Tsuchie is their unofficial test driver, which will take no part in the official WGP2 activities.

BIO: Dom Falepeau (21 years old) is Togonistani race car driver born in Tushlark, capital city of Togonistan. He started racing at the age of 15, when he participated in Togonistan Rallycross Junior League, finishing the season on top of the leaderboards. A year later he was picked up by Kaylan Racing team and signed a contract with them. He was going to participate in TTRL (Togonistan Track Racing League), considered to be the most prestigious domestic racing league in Togonistan. However, due to his young age and lack of experience, he didn't get a spot in their representative team. Instead, he was given on loan to Domerton Motorsports. For seasons 2012 and 2013, he participated in TTRL representing Domerton Motorsports. He showed some promising results, ranked at the end of season 12th and 9th respectively. In 2014, he was a reserve driver for Kaylan Motors Racing, until 2015, when he became driver #2 for the team. He ended up 6th in 2015 season and 2nd in 2016 season. At the end of 2016, his contract with Kaylan Motors Racing ended and, encouraged by his old team manager, Falepeau decided to try it out at the international stage.

In 2017, Falepeau jumped aboard the WGP2 train. Being a rather unknown driver to the international stage, he eventually ended up signing a 1-year long contract with New Scaiva and Horshenwurst-based Junixwagen team. WGP2 2017 season was a rough ride for Falepeau, who's time there was often accompanied by either mechanical failures on his car or getting dragged into mass crashes. Eventually, Falepeau ended the season on mere 22nd place in Drivers' standing, with 6th place achieved in Yakumicha GP2 Challenge being his best result.

BIO: Kaylan Racing Team is the racing division of Togonistani car manufacturer Kaylan Motors (often abbreviated as simply KM). Kaylan Racing, being the biggest racing organization in the nation, is always searching for young talent and has been the main growing platform for Togonistani professional race car drivers. The team has it's branch in almost every domestic racing serie and, since TTRL's founding in 2008, KM has been the sole vehicle provider for the series. KM started developing their very own formula car engine (codenamed Kaieke 1) in 2016 and in cooperation with Kaylan Racing, announced their protoype setup during Tushlark Car Show in late 2017. In March 2018, Kaylan Racing announced about their intentions to get their team on grid for the upcoming WGP2 season with KM's new Kaieke 1 engine. While the team as well as KM's manufacturing division seemed confident, some fans and racing analytics have been expressing some serious doubts about Kaieke 1's reliability which, according to some rumors, was rushed in development in order to get it done by July.

BIO: Hwoarang Racing Circuit, located at the outskirts of the city of Hwoarang, is a race track built in 2002 at the area of an old abandoned military airfield. With the length of 4.025km, it is the biggest racing circuit in the nation.

When the airfield closed in 1998, it was left unused and it didn't take long until illegal street racers took it over as a good place for hosting their drag race competitions. However, eventually, local authorities also found out about the events happening there.

City council liked the fact that local motorsport enthusiasts had found a use for the airstrip and they quickly started plans for turning the area into an actual raceway. Work started in 2000 and, after 2 years, it was finally finished.

Since it's creation, it mainly served as a public racing track until 2004, when it started hosting Togonistan Rallycross League races. In 2008, Togonistan Track Racing League was founded and Hwoarang Racing Circuit became one of it's most prestigious races.

Not sure if you noticed my question in the WGPO thread, Mattijana: are you going to be creating images for the Petrovi tyres that all the teams will be using? If so, I'd prefer to put them on the car's image before submitting it.

I haven't worked in a livery for WGP2 yet, I don't even know if I'll have a team, but come to think of it:
Last year, Grafonil were the tyre supplier, but didn't had any logo. I made this using WGP2 font (Conthrax). For this year, I just replaced Grafonil for Petrovi. If Mattijana couldn't give us a better image, I can send this for you (and for anyone in need of) via TG.

I was planning on knocking something up, but to be honest, I wouldn’t be able to do any better than Lisander’s effort, so you’re very welcome to use those.

Not entirely sure what the timings of everything are (I'm sure they're somewhere in the OP...) so I'll say now that I won't be around from now until Thursday. Good luck with your bids, everyone!

Preferred Number: 15

Technique (Between 2 and 5): 5
BIO:

After a mediocre first season in WGP2, scoring only one win and occasional points otherwise, Rebecca is back and ready for more action. She's still as good a driver as she was, if not better, though we have no idea if that will apply in the race setting. (We hope it does.)

Team Name: Brutus Obey Sport GP
Team Nationality (Trigram): ESM
Reliability (Between 2 and 5): 4.5
Aerodynamics (Between 2 and 5): 4
Technical and Engineering Skills: (Between 2 and 5): 3.5
BIO:

Obey Sport GP is also coming off a relatively mediocre season. Despite having a driver who finished very well in the championship, their other drivers made very little contribution to the team effort. Not only that, but the team itself was a bit slower than its competitors, choosing instead to make a vehicle that wouldn't crash and hoped everyone else would. It didn't work, so they've chosen to re-spec the car. Fitted with a brand new Obey Trio-55B engine, the team is ready for another go at it.
