At the dawn of the 24th century (the year 2301), the social issues of the previous decades exploded into global conflicts in which every part and member of society was involved. Civilization was destroyed in the sweep of these Social Wars as the lasers, biogenic agents, and nuclear warheads took their toll. Those who survived soon found them selves witnessing a biogenic revolution as animals like none other soon repopulated the Earth.

It is 2583 in what is left of Higginsville, Missouri- now Hyggendsvyl - a free settlement of around 80 surrounded by tribals. The settlement is clanish in nature- family ties permiating politics, and social roles. The Mayear has for the past three generations been a Hojack- ever since Samule Hojack lead the militia in a successful defense of the town during the 'Blackfoot Wars'. It's tough being the only civilized community for miles- surrounded by ruins, tribals, and the occassional radiation storm from the middle south- remnants of the tornados said to frequent that region.
As such a faction in the community seeks to migrate- to settle elsewhere- a 'Golden Land' said to be in the Northwest- legends say it's free of radition- that giant trees grow there- that the water is fresh and filled with fish. But they know well the risks and will not go without a safe route to travel.
That is where we four come in- we are pathfinders seeking to plot a safe route to this golden land and to return to Hyggendsvyl with such aroute before guiding this faction in it's exodus.

On the Types in Hyggendsvyl
Humanoids make ups the largest portion of the population with a few recent Seeker immigrants among them now- with said Seekers having become a bit stuck in town due to tribal activity. They where on their way East when things recently began to act up in the region again. Mutant Animals are largely decended from domestic pets or live stock from before the social wars and thus compose the 2nd largest population; they've become part of the family to most in town. Pure Strain Humans make up the minority in town with most not even being from the town originally but like the recent Seeker group to arrive they found themselves stuck in town. The Hojack Mayear's greatest rival is presently one of the few Pure Strain Humans in town though he's not a very popular person.
