So easy to forget sometimes that this country has never had a decent revolution, and there are huge swathes of the country owned by the descendants of feudal landlords. The degree of toleration British society seems to afford their lordships never ceases to amaze me, to be honest.

The landowning isn't the problem: see, for example, Scotland, where basically all of the land is so owned, but the right to roam is far stronger than in the rest of the UK. The problem is how weak the equivalent legislation outside of Wales is.

While that's an issue, it's less of one than home ownership, surely?

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

*Shrug*. For me, and most people my age, home ownership is a thing that might or might not be an issue at some point in the distant future, at which point this might or might not be an issue.

Step one: end the commoditization of the housing market and stop people trying to profiteer off it.

How do you stop something that's been going on for centuries? Ground rents got stuck in the mud so people with wealth stopped buying them and started buying houses to let.

I'm in one of the houses affected by this. It's been nearly 30 degrees today and it smells like someone took a shit in the corner of my office.

I suspect Corbyn will use the Heathrow runway, at the next election, to gain a few London seats from the Tories.

Which might not be a good idea. Richmond Park, the constituency that specifically has Heathrow in it, was won by the Liberal Democrats in 2016. Might be wise to just let them have another crack at unseating Zac Goldsmith again.

If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. If the fields aren't furrowed, plow them. If the iron is not hot, make it so. If society is not ready, change it.

No, it's officially called the Republic Ireland or just Ireland, and the majority want to stay in the EU, but there are a plenty of Irish people who want Ireland to leave the EU, there are also still Conservatives out there in Ireland, Ireland is basically a mix of Liberalism and Conservatism (something like the United Kingdom but Ireland is somewhat more Liberal and the UK somewhat more Conservative)
