December 12, 2021 Public Release: Withdrawal from the Economic Cooperation Agreement ​Following consultation and discussion among the cabinet, and by the grace of His Excellent Majesty the Leader, the Nationalist Gold Union will be unilaterally withdrawing from the Economic Cooperation Agreement (ECA), effective immediately. Although the intentions of the ECA were noble, the pact has failed to prove beneficial or productive to the interests of the Nationalist Gold Union. The Nationalist Gold Union originally signed onto the ECA in order to improve trade relations and reset diplomatic relations with the other signatories. However, many of the actions of the other signatories, specifically Miltonia and Panjal, combined with restrictions imposed by the ECA, have greatly limited the scope of diplomacy of the Nationalist Gold Union in regards to the actions committed by these states. After a series of talks and meetings an agreement for the future of Angola/Ndongo has been signed and ratified by both the Miltonian government and Angolan independence leaders.The terms of the accords are as follows:

•The independence of Angola/Ndongo will be recognized and guaranteed by The Miltonia

•The government of Angola/Ndongo will transition into a provisional government, this provisional government will have full control of Angola/Ndongo until a constitution is signed and put into place.

•The Army of Angola will be transferred to Angolan control

•Angolan forces will be deployed to the Miltonia for the purpose of Miltonian national defense

•The Miltonian army will cooperate with native forces and act as peacekeepers until a permanent government is established. Once this occurs Miltonian forces will leave over the span of 4 months

•All Miltonian assets in Angola/Ndongo will be kept until a permanent government is formed, once this occurs all assets will be sold.

•Angola/Ndongo will keep all unused money from Miltonian investments.

•Hispanics living in Angola/Ndongo will be given equal rights to native Africans.

•Safe passage will be provided to all who wish to leave Angola/Ndongo for Miltonia until the permanent government is established.

After over a year of counting, recounting, and fraud investigations, the definitive results are out: Jacob Ambarita is the new CEO of the Confederacy. CEO Ambarita received 34.8% of the popular vote, followed by Wendy Song who received 27%.

Ambarita was accused several times of rigging voting machines, ballots, and destroying votes. An independent investigation by H&R Bloc (whom CEO Ambarita holds no personal or fiscal ties to) revealed no credible evidence of fraud was present for any candidate. Minor cases of ballot tampering where attributed to lobbying groups acting without the consent of their respective candidates. This led to a re-vote occuring in North Sulawesi and a Federal recount. Ambarita's lead was preserved and the Standevian expat was escorted to Jakarta on the tenth of December, where he was sworn in as CEO.

Ambarita has already made a series unorthodox policy moves by "massively" expanding CEO powers to include a personal cabinet of advisors. He has also requested that be given a direct vote worth that of 3 Directors on matters of domestic policy. Ambarita has a massive warchest of around $490Mn provided by Standevian and Confederate backers. Lobbying operations in provinces of influential Directors are well underway. It remains to be seen if the Board will allow for this power grab for what was initially a foreign policy office.

The Confederacy of McFreedomstan is home to 1,600 public colleges and universities largely bankrolled via factional budgets. They are home to the cheapest, most questionably trained instructors in Asia. Thousands of professors on payroll never provided proof of their degree. CEO Ambarita has decided to enter a grey area in order to alleviate the intellectual black hole of the factional public education systems by "trading instruments of death for instruments of growth." With very begrudging support from the PDF due to their contractual obligation to abide by foreign policy mandates, Ambarita has offered several dozens Type-053 frigates in exchange for elite professors across the globe. Up to 35 of these warships will be offered as payment to any nation not blacklisted by the Board of Directors. Blacklisted nations include: The Empire of Vanavoy, Walgreens, Sietsk.

Actual salaries range from $35,000 - $96,000 depending on demand. This might not sound too extravagant to foreign readers but it is important to note that the price of rent for a 60m^2 apartment with modern appliances in the heart of Shanghai (including high speed internet and standard utilities) is around $19,000 a year. The average low end professor could easily bank $7,000 a year living a comfortable life working 30 hour weeks, 7 months out of the year.

Ambarita's move is expected to be popular among the masses but Confederate Elites have expressed concerns over the allocation of funds federal assets to solve a factional issue.

Lax conscription laws • Prussiaholm's economy finally recovering?

Minister of Defence, Adler Nosson, recently announced the repeal of the 2020 Conscription Act. The vote was passed in the Bundestag with 63% in favour of repealing it, mainly members of the SLP. The consequences of this bill are lowering removing all obligation for conscripted troops to remain in the armed forces.

Despite not having to remain in the army, thousands of troops will enter training to become fully fledged soldiers, rather than conscripts. In total, this brings Prussiaholm's total personnel from 675,000 to 550,000.

A report from the independent Information Society shows that Prussiaholm has actually seen it's first economic growth since the Prusso-Vanavoian War. Experts are putting this down to the Southern Rebuilding Initiative ending, and Prussiaholmer exports increasing to places like Africa. Economics Professor at the University of Berlin, Linda Kruz, gave Der Berliner Kurier this statement:

"While Prussiaholm is finally somewhat recovering from the devastating war, it will need to compete with other European nations, like Noxtrem, if it wants to have any say on the global economic stage. December 22, 2021 Confederation 2024 Party Platform ​With the general elections being scheduled for 2024, the Party for the Creation of a Confederation, more commonly known as Confederation, will be obliging with electoral laws and providing a summary of the platform and policies of the party. Confederation's platform is three-winged. Primarily, the Party supports confederalism -- that is, devolving the current federal government and its powers among the states which constitute it. The federal government should simply serve two purposes: defense and common policy. Other powers and politics should be left to be exercised by the several Commonwealths that build up our Union. Our parliamentary system also needs to be upgraded to reflect a system of confederalism. The National Assembly should be assigned constituencies instead of all candidates being inscribed on a party list, and the Senate should have its powers expanded. The Senate, which is composed of an equal amount of Senators designated from each Commonwealth, represents the vast interests of each part of our Union and therefore should be more than an advisory or rubber-stamp body. Second: the Party supports pacifism. It is not the duty of the Nationalist Gold Union to be involving itself in wars abroad. The Nationalist Gold Union National Defense (NGUND), our national militia, was established with the purpose of defending our soil. The military has grown too far and it is too draining on the taxpayer. Primarily, the navy must be converted to a coastal defense fleet. Secondarily, the defense budget should be greatly slashed and that money should instead be in the pockets of the people of our Union. The only way that the Nationalist Gold Union can emerge from the global economic slump is by not demanding ridiculous amounts of money from the taxpayer to fund imperial ventures abroad. Thirdly, the Nationalist Gold Union should avoid embargoes and judging foreign regimes, and instead engage in fair and free trade with their resources. Third: the Party supports the free market. Classical liberal economic theory, which built our Union's booming national economy following the brutal civil war of the 20th century, has been tossed aside in favor of a quasi-Marxist policy of mass industrialization and state subsidization. Taxes are too high, regulations are too strict, and business isn't easy. The Party supports repealing legislation and shutting down government ministries that contribute to using mass public funds to spend on random projects that do not overall heal our economy or average citizen. Instead, business in the Nationalist Gold Union should be the easiest in the world to set up and run, and excessive government projects should be left to private enterprise to complete. Confederation is willing to work with parties from all across the aisle that share similar goals and visions to ours. The end result of a holiday's worth of trade talk and diplomacy is a series of trade agreements being bundled together as the "Inter-European Connection Project". These deals provide for a special arrangement between Noxtrem, Prussiaholm, and Nomiconia. After a series of diplomatic meetings with resounding success, Noxtrem, Prussiaholm and Nomiconia have established the Inter-European Connection Project (IECP). The partner ship exploits the unique situation that the 3 nations economies find themselves in. Economics Minister, Jana Kramer, explained the deal earlier today.

Independence Party Protests in Lisbon

Today, people of all ideologies, left and right, attended a protest in which they marched through the streets of Lisbon touting signs with pro-independence messages written on them. Some of the messages include "Sui ta Independencina" (Yes to Independence), "No Imperialismo" (No Imperialism), and "F*dase al Larentinans" (F*ck the Laurentians). Roque Garcia, the main spokesman for the Independence Party, says that "The only way to regain independence is by speaking out against our Unionist overlords."

The protest saw a lot less people than expected. APP believes that this is due to the reintroduction of a democratic parliament in Prisalia and the undeniable fact that the overall quality of life for most Prisalians has increased following the coup by Admiral Stack. The quality of life is expected to increase, while the number of people supporting independence is expected to decrease. Only time will tell.

Sinai Canal open for business - 01/21/2022



Tuntun Singh's Party Yacht


The Sinai Canal, which started construction in early 2018, has finally completed construction after four long years of work. The project, which was a joint venture between the Panjali and McFreedomstani government, aimed to create a larger, wider, faster, and cheaper rival to the Suez Canal. The project employed over 60,000 workers for the four year period, and brought major investments into the economy of Zakalistan.

The Canal's inauguration ceremony featured famed musician Tuntun Singh who performed from his private yacht, a fireworks ensemble, and a particularly interesting display where over 1,000 workers drove carts of garbage and sand over to the Suez canal and dumped them in. Once the ceremony was over, Tuntun Singh's Party Yacht (Tuntun Cruise, LLC) proceeded to be the first official vessel through the new canal system.

With the next UCK election closing in fast, tensions between nations are rising. Every passing day, people are asking who the next prime minister will be.

When questioned, Erone stated that he was not worried about the probabilities of winning. He said "I have done many great things in my last few years. We have joined ECP, provided reliable defence for our people, and saved many during the anarchic times a few years ago. It is obvious that I'm still the best bet for this nation."

Other candidates are not quite sure though. Avard Rona has openly stated that he believes that he is the better choice. "UCK's economy needs a helping hand and that's what I'm providing. Erone has made major military purchases, and that's the opposite of what we need right now."

We have been unable to get an interview with Soia Băiat. It turns out he has pulled out of the race. No information has been disclosed to us, but for the time being, the UCK liberal party has no candidate. If they do not produce one before voting starts, they will be forced to pull out.

Of course, all of this was thrown out the window around 2 years ago, when soldiers from the Confederacy of McFreedomstand showed up to finally put a stop to our quarrelsome ways. They offered our respective leaders 2 choices. The first options was to join the Confederacy of McFreedomstan as 4 seperate autonomous factions, all of which would be able to hold their own ideals and methods of rule and the second option was annihilation (which was an apparently hard choice for some folks over at the Union Republic, as it took them several weeks to decide which of the two they would choose). Now, 2 years later, Eloria is certainly a whole new different beast. That is why we here at Union News have taken our time to delve deep into the 4 factions which comprise the new Elorian Federation, starting with: The Union Republic of Eloria "Hey, wasn't this the unofficial political movement which aimed to reinstate a form of central government in Eloria before the McFreedomstani intervention?" might you be asking yourself, and to that we anwser yes. The Union Republic remains alive and pumping on North Island, and enjoys a population of 18.5 million (the largest out of the 4 factions). Couple that with decades of industrial development and a largely complacent population, and you've got yourself a nice place to live and work in. If you can deal with a relatively high tax rate and agenda pushing neighbours that is. From a political standpoint, the Union Republic works as a, well, republic, with a directly elected president and assembly of governors. The Chiefdom of Eloria Yes. There are two Eloria's. Moving on from that, the Chiefdom of Eloria, which controls the mountainous South Island, is a highly traditionalist, highly conservative society of 5.19 million, which has trade handled entirely by the government and imports only raw resources. Obao Bhan,the current chief, head of the Obao family, owner of 32 kiwi birds and slayer of dragons has also persistently inacted policies to deport all non-ethnic polynesians and nationals, and is critisized by many for his often xenophobic statements and policies. In response, Mr. Obao has hinted at possibly allowing McFreedomstani people and culture into his chiefdom, and has even publicly expressed his growing liking towards mainland Asian culture. The Dominion of South Melanesia The Dominion of South Melanesia, located in southern Melanesia (who would've guessed), was initially formed as a democracy with its values placed in maritocracy. The first few months saw smooth sailing, and the first elections were well on their way, when Bubba Nui, owner of a small fish shop in Fiji, made a public announcement on live TV, in which he declared himself Imperator of South Melanesia. The sudden decleration on live television resulted in many members of the government believing it to be true, and among the beaurocratic confusion, Bubba Nui saw himself ascend to power, at which point he took control of the nation's means of production and divided it among several state-owned enterprises. Since then the Nui administration has made major strides in creating an extremely tourist and business friendly faction, with a flat tax of 5% and plenty of cheap plots of land, but only 5.88 million people to work on said cheap plots of land. The Principality of Tasmania As soon as it got the chance, Tasmania declared it's independence from the rest of Eloria and entirely cut political and economic ties with the other factions, instead opting to become a hermit kingdom ruled by the young Prince Fredrick Pale, who has entirely outlawed contact with the outside world. Because of that, there is little we have in the way of facts on the nation, other than its general population (2.57 million) and the fact that it recieves food and other vital resources in the form of aid from the other factions. Leonard Roberts dies at 72



1949 - 2022


​Leonard Roberts, a lifetime NGU politician and statesman, has passed away in his home at age 72 after succumbing to his brain cancer. He was surrounded by friends and family.

Roberts lived a lifetime of controversy and civil service, who previously served as Chancellor. During his term, he expanded the borders of the Union until eventually falling to a monarchist revolution. He re-entered politics after his release from prison but had his second political career cut short due to his brain condition.

Many individuals in the Nationalist Gold Union have responded and made their comments on the former Chancellor. Paul Philip IV, the Leader of the Union, commemorated the chancellor, despite Roberts' historical opposition to the monarchy.

"Roberts was an iconic face and statesman, and his legacy will echo through time," Paul Philip said to the press this morning. "He has left his mark on his country and everyone within it."

Alfred Herbert Page, former Prime Minister and parliamentary enemy to Roberts, said his condolences as well. "We will be praying for Mr. Roberts' soul," Page said in a social media post. "He will be remembered."

Zachary Gosse, the new leader of the New Union Party, commemorated the former party leader at a event today. "The party will continue to carry on the strong legacy of the Chancellor."

High Court Rules Kapadia Resignation Unconstitutional - 02/12/2022

After nearly a month of deliberation, the High Court of Panjal has found Vinod Kapadia's specification within his resignation letter to resign "all appointed administrative positions" to be in violation of Article II, Section I, Line IV of the Constitution: "If the Premier is impeached, resigns, dies, or is unable to serve, the Vice Executive shall assume the position of Premier. If the Vice Executive is unable to serve, the head of the State Assembly shall be appointed." The current consequences of this ruling are immense. The current executive administration, which served under Kapadia, will continue to operate, with the line of succession being put in place, making current Vice-Exeuctive Simron Lata the Premier of Panjal, once sworn in by both Legislative houses.

The decision made by the High Court, whether by intention or not, has far reaching effects. Kapadia's decision to resign undoubtedly had the intention to wipe the slate clean in the executive branch, and the ruling has been seen unfavorably both by the administration's political opposition and the public. Leader of the Union Muslim League, Imam Aparajita Mahmud, has denounced the ruling, calling it "the remnants of the Kapadia Administration's last ditch effort to maintain the status quo." Opposition groups which had gone quiet for the most part have now reignited in their fervor, and the protest cycle seems to have begun once again.

Games of the Grey Panther

Upon the final completion of Uchechi Tower, the Panther Stadium Complex, and the rest of the city of Salvation, Grey Africa, the games of the Grey Panther are soon to begin. A representative has been sent from each of the 20 major Kill-Gangs in Grey Africa and now they will all do battle for the title of Grey Panther and Battle-Hog of Grey Africa. As per the rules dictated by Witch Doctor Mamadou, the 20 contestants will be starved for 2 weeks before they are given one day to gorge themselves eating only pure lard and miscellaneous animal fats. Once the Day of Feast has ended all of the contestants will be stripped naked and thrown into the Grand Death Pit in the Panther Stadium Complex and will do battle using only their bare hands until only one remains. If none of the contestants survive the games will be held again and will continue being held until just one Supreme Grey Panther is found and is granted totalitarian power over the nation. To make the process go faster, every day after the games begin an increasing number of starved baboons, given large amounts of cocaine beforehand, are released into the Death Pit, one on the first day, two on the second, three on the third, etc. until the games are finished. As with all games that are to be held in the Death Pit, gambling is allowed and based on the bets that have been placed so far, most people in Grey Africa seem to think the incumbent Grand Generalissimo Uchechi will be the winner due to his formidable build, unrivaled battle-spirit, and his lucky clash sign given to him by the Blood-God Gojuju. We will all see if these bets were well placed in a couple weeks when the Time of Starving and Day of Feast are finished and the fight begins.

Racism and Anti-Semitism on the Rise

Last week, 63-year-old Heber Blaustein, a respected German-Vanavoian politician was found dead, murdered. This was followed up a few days later with the death of another German-Vanavoian Politician, Shimon Abramczyk was also found to have been killed, several more German-Vanavoian politicians were also killed in the following days. The question is: why? Top investigators such as Lewi Moskowitz suggest that the killings may be motivated by a rising wave of anti-semitism, which a racist group of criminals, known as the Vanavoian Nazbol Gang, have been pushing. Although the beliefs of the VNG are different depending on which of the constituent groups you talk with, one thing is in common: deplorable and horrifying anti-semitism. Professor of Historical Racism Studies, Eshkol Zussman, who has recently put forward a paper on the history of anti-semitism in Vanavoy, Noxtrem, and Prussiaholm, has stated that the cause is likely the need of such extremist groups to find a scapegoat. 2021 Elections Arrive

The 2021 UCK elections are finally here. The UCK liberal party has chosen a new candidate, allowing for them to run in the election. The new leader of the liberal party is Jonas Trenton. Each party has provided their platform as of yesterday, and each vouch for improving UCK. The Conservatives, led by Erone, the current Prime Minister, still states that he will slowly stabilize and improve UCK's economy via ties with other European nations. He stated "ECP and the black sea railway have been our largest economic projects in the last decade. These are the types of thing that you can expect from me. I will keep workplaces running, infrastructure developing, and people happy.". The ERC (Economic Right Coalition), led by Avard Rona, believes that the only way to improve our economy is to improve the jobs of the working class. "For long enough out workers have been nothing but cogs a machine, when broken, hastily replaced. Like pawns in a cruel game of chess, sacrificed for the "Greater good". It's time that the lifeblood of our nation stands up for whats right. People aren't being paid enough to live on, no healthcare plans are provided, no benefits. The corporate fat cats are using these people as mere fodder. Well, these are the people that keep these industries afloat and its time that they seized control!". The Liberal party, as stated previously, led by Jonas Trenton, preaches for the rights of all. "As is, if someone is poor, there is no way for them to get proper treatment. As it, if someone is discriminated against due to uncontrollable reasons, there is nothing there to provide justice. As is, if someone tries to beat you for your place of birth or the colour of your skin, there is nobody there to help you. This is abhorrent and must be changed. It does not matter your race, your lifestyle, your beliefs... Everybody should be treated like human beings, with at least a shred of respect."

Recently Erone has announced that 3 billion dollars will be going towards improving public education, as well as post-secondary schooling. He states "The children of this wonderful nation are the future, the leaders of tomorrow. They will be the ones taking charge once we are too old to, and that is why we must educate them. Without proper education, we will have no doctors, to engineers, no politicians. A world without any of those people is a dark and bleak one if I must say." He also announced that one billion will be going to improving and constructing additional infrastructures such as roads and sidewalks. He stated he plans to improve public transportation in the future.

Another statement from Erone reveals that he has chosen a deputy prime minister. This is sudden news due to the election happening just as this is revealed. To continue on, Erone has chosen our current diplomat Stainslaw Krakowski as UCK's deputy prime minister. "He has repeatedly shown his competence and capability. You could present me with the entire population and I would still choose this man. He has to be one of the most qualified and downright perfect candidates I could have possibly chosen." Stanislaw has gone on record reacting to this announcement with "Woah... Nice.".

As some may have seen, in late 2018, the notable UCK SoundCloud rapper "Big Ounce" released his first album. On this album, he included one song titled "My MF BigMac Cuz". One thing he did not expect was a full-scale lawsuit. He did not know that the name BigMac was copyrighted, and by using it, he was breaking the law. McDonald's launched a lawsuit shortly after, costing Big Ounce an estimated 12.9 million dollars. He was unable to pay this full amount and ended up in jail. A year after his imprisonment he attempted to rebel against Mcdonald's by singing "My MF Bigmac Cuz" For the prison inmates. He was found dead 3 days later, with copious amounts of salt found on his body.

The treaty of Monrovia

The Miltonia is happy to say that peace negotiations have been successful and an agreed upon plan has been made for independence. The terms of the treaty are as follows:

•The independence of Gold Coast will be recognized and guaranteed by The Miltonia

•The government of Gold Coast will change into a provisional government which will have full control of Gold Coast until a permanent government can be established.

•Once permenant governments have been established in the three major provinces of Gold Coast (Sierra Leone, Liberia, and the Kong province) a vote for the independence of these three provinces will be held. These votes will either be referendums or legeslative votes.

•Free trade between The Miltonia and Gold Coast will continue for 5 months at which point tariffs and other restrictions can be placed.

•Gold Coast forces will be deployed to the Miltonia for the purpose of Miltonian national defense

•The Miltonian army will cooperate with native forces and act as peacekeepers until a permanent government is established. Once this occurs Miltonian forces will leave over the span of 5 months

•All Miltonian assets in Gold Coast (Not including Schools, Hospitals, and other public service buildings) will be kept for 4 years. Once the 4 years pass a new agreement on these assets will be negotiated.

•Gold Coast will keep all unused money from Miltonian investments.

•Hispanics living in Gold Coast will be given equal rights to native Africans.

•Safe passage will be provided to all who wish to leave Gold Coast for Miltonia until the permanent government is established.

This marks the end of Major Miltonian imperialism on the continent of Africa. We hope to have a healthy relationship with our former colonies despite any strife we have had in the past.
