Backstory:
Dick Grayson was an aspiring acrobat, part of the circus act known as 'The Flying Graysons' alongside his parents. Unfortunately, at the age of 8, his parents were murdered by the Mafia Boss Tony Zucco to extort protection money from the travelling circus. He was adopted by the Billionaire Bruce Wayne after a short period of time in Social Services. He was frustrated with the lack of attention given to him by his new guardian, and in defiance left in the middle of the night to find Tony Zucco and make him pay for killing his parents. While there however, he ran into the Batman who helped him track Zucco and bring him down.

He woke up the next morning inside the Batcave, and learned that Bruce Wayne was the Batman. Dick was given an offer he couldn't refuse, to fight alongside the Batman as his sidekick, Robin. The name chosen after the nickname given to him by his mother. And he served alongside Batman until he became a young adult.
Dick was tired of Batman treating him like a child and imposing strict rules on what he could do despite his skill. Dick gave up the Robin mantle after a falling out with Bruce, and he left to pursue the battle against crime of his own volition. Placing his fight primarily in Blüdhaven against the Penguin's weapon trade. Returning to Gotham on occasion to assist the Batman and his allies.

Upon Batman leaving Gotham for the Justice League, he has returned to help fill the shoes of his old mentor and help those who have chosen to don the mantle as Gotham's hero.

Powers/Weapons/Tech:

Outfit
The Nightwing suit is made of a version of the Nomex fire-resistant, triple-weave Kevlar-lined material consisting of different thicknesses plates, covering a bodysuit that allows him to retain excellent mobility. It provides excellent protection against damage, and it's also electrically insulated. Instead of a black cape for stealth, the suit is light sensitive, darkening when there is more light in the area. The blue symbol is basic, a thick plate of Kevlar designed to draw fire to the most heavily armoured area.

Vehicle
Nightwing utilises a motorcycle he dubbed the 'Nightcycle', a heavily customised Honda CBR500R. It contains a GPS system and allows him to zip through the backstreets.

Equipment
- Eskrima Stun Sticks: Retractable electrified close-combat sticks stored on the right thigh, they deliver a short non-lethal electric shock to his enemies and can be thrown.
- Wing Dings: Custom Batarang variant
- Wrist darts: hidden in the gloves, the darts can connect to a rope and possess an electrical charge
- Grappling Gun: Gas-powered line launcher that allows Nightwing to traverse between the levels of the city quickly
- Rebreather: A small device that allows Nightwing to spend extended periods of time underwater, or filter out harmful gases
- Handcuffs: Custom quick-lock handcuffs for detaining enemies
- Domino Mask: Nightwing's mask lets him focus on points further than the naked eye, and provide Night-Vision, IR, UV spectrum modes.
- Holographic Computer: A mobile computer Nightwing uses to get building schematics or access information, linked to his Domino mask to scan different subjects.

Weaknesses: Nightwing has a tendency to be quite cocky, overconfident and reckless. Often never fully scanning an environment or underestimating the danger level of some scenarios.

Personality: This is a grittier version of the Atom that citizens of Gotham came to know and love. Dr. Ray Palmer is a quiet, intellectual, and reserved member of the superhero community, striving to be like another self-made super, Batman. He tends to strategize heavily in battle, and his reluctance to rely on instinct is a weakness when he is engaged in a tough fight. He is soft-hearted, however, and tends to be very emotional when he loses in battle against his rogue gallery. He is known as a super caring and compassionate individual, although he can be introverted which may lead to misunderstandings.
Faction: Independent, although he tends to lend help to The Followers of the Hood.

Backstory:
Raymond "Ray" Palmer, was a young physics student at Ivy University in the
city of Ivy Town, somewhere in New England, doing research in matter compression as a means to fight overpopulation, famine and other world problems. Using a mass of white dwarf star matter he finds after it lands on Earth, Palmer fashions a lens that enables him to shrink any object to any degree he wishes. Compression destabilizes an object's molecular structure, however, causing it to explode. Using this new technology, Palmer fashions a suit to help him become a vigilante like his hero, The Green Arrow. At the young age of 20, The Atom was born. He was known to be a cocky and reckless member of the superhero community, albeit a very intelligent person. He soon graduated and got a job as an adjunct professor at Harvard University. In the day, he was a professor of physics, and at night he mooonlighted as The Atom, often coordinating with teams like the Teen Titans and occasionally The Justice League.

However, after facing tragedy after tragedy, particularly one involving the death of his girlfriend Jean Loring, Dr. Palmer quit his job as a professor of physics at Harvard and becomes a full-time vigilante, thinking that he could avenge his girlfriend’s death. He becomes much more reserved and strategic, as opposed to his old witty and reckless self. However, the work and constant shrinking soon took a physical toll on Ray. He moved to Gotham, which was becoming famous for being more peaceful these days. He took up a job as a Chemistry professor at Gotham University. But he could see the Gotham crime simmering under the layer, and he despised the violence he saw. He decided that the only method he could use to fight crime was the extreme violence that was employed by the villains. He has resorted to these extreme methods, and has made an enemy of the GCPD.

Powers/Weapons/Tech:

The Atom Suit
The Atom Suit, built by Palmer himself, possesses the power to alter his size down to the subatomic level while retaining his natural strength level. This is accomplished by using the remnants of a white-dwarf star made into a belt buckle worn with his costume. The suit also has some built in functions, like a crime tracker, various bullet-shooting devices, and a parachute.

Equipment
Shrink Discs - Small discs that can be thrown at objects with a large mass to shrink them.
Grappling Hook Gun - This shrinks to a molecular level and helps the Atom in his escapades.

Powers
- Extreme Agility
- Trained in Judo, Karate, Jujitsu, Kung Fu, and Taekwondo
- Can be pretty fast

Weaknesses: He tends to second guess himself in battle, which often results in him getting his butt handed to him. Ray also overexamines his surroundings and opponents, which becomes a distraction in fights.
Skills: Is exceptionally intelligent; he can do complex mathematics, like advanced calculus equations, mentally. Is known as one of the world’s best physicists. He is also a very fast reader, which comes in handy when he is analyzing evidence or searching through databases. He is also a skilled hacker, as he is skilled in numerous computer languages like Java, Arduino C++, Basic, HTML, etc.
