The major powers which once dominated the world have fragmented and collapsed under their own weight. What remains is a power vacuum vying for new nations to fill it. However, it is still the same world facing a plethora of problems: petty political disputes, social conflicts and environmental problems. Not only will these nations need to restore a healthy balance of power to an ever-fragmenting world but will need to work to solve these problems in a Post-Cold War RP.

At Drakbordz, the capital of the once superpower of the East that dominated half of the continent it was quiet. The huge collapse of it's enemies and allies had shaken the government. The people of the once proud country have lived in a more quiet and isolated future. The government had changed, with the people choosing a mostly isolationist leader, and have severed economic ties with their trade partners. The Armed Forces, have suffered a reduction in personnel, with almost 350 thousand troops being transferred to the reserves. The Nation, was barely kept together, thanks to the patriotic core of the people. The Air Force, considered one of the best in the world stopped production of new aircraft, and lowered amount of flying hours and with the aircraft being in a more neglected state. The only proud thing about the country was its investment in infrastructure and social welfare. The famous polar program, founded in the height of the Cold War, and with Cooperation with Allyrjia, was a symbol of friendship and still remained. However, many things would never be the same. The people elected a new President which promised a new foreign policy, reduction of the armed forces to a professional, manageable amount, and to continue investment in infrastructure.

A new Allyria

Postby Allyrije » Sat Dec 30, 2017 10:25 am

Allyria has seen much trouble in its history. In the past 100 years alone the nation has had two major wars as well as countless Military Coups. The first war was the Allyrian War of Independence in which the country, then known as the Karthspiri Charter, rose up province by province against foreign rule eventually signing a peace and reclaiming most of the historic Allyrian Kingdom. The second war was the Allyrian Civil War. The war was brought on by the Athaini coup which brought Queen Thyra Athaine to power after the death of Sindlanil II Allyrius. The coup triggered more Liberal minded Allyrians to rise up in support of the other candidate Wilmedin Skjallin. Queen Thyra eventually won the war and embarked upon a project of rapid modernisation and slow reform. Over most of her rule powers have been slowly taken from the Monarchy and given to the Allyrian Parliament, the Magisterium. In Allyrian society exists an uneasy balance of power between the Parliament and the Monarchy with the Monarch controlling the amount of power the Parliament has but the Parliament also controlling the amount of power the Monarch has.

Allyria's current Arkjallinn, Prime Minister, Kristina Larathael is currently stuck in 2nd place in the polls. For the first time in Allyrian history the right looks set to lose power unless a miracle happens. The Prime Minister is surrounded by campaign advisors and PR representatives in her office. "But why won't they vote for us? We are the ones who have brought the nation into the modern world, the ones who built it up? For god's sake why do our people have to be so stubborn and proud." Uttered the Prime Minister to her longtime friend and Foreign Minister, Adertina Larathael.

The Foreign Minister appeared startled, "It is the younger generation. They don't understand our nation nor do they care to. They wish to see our traditions and culture replaced by the modern hierarchy and our party has not done the best job of re-branding Allyria. Do not forget, we are the only party pushing for more military and police spending at a time where the threats which our nation faced are gone and crime is at its lowest ever level. Perhaps this is just the ideological pendulum swinging back and forth as it always has."

Interrupting the conversation came the sound the likes of which an Allyrian City had not heard for a least two decades. Screams filled the streets outside of the Party Office and a dim orange light filled the night sky above. Kal'Dovaat was shaken but the Prime Minister had to act.

Nuak is a fledgling nation, in the face of hard times falling on the world. Barely a year old, it has been born from the ashes of the older Solarium and Wolf Empires, both collapsed due to countless wars against each other. At first, the nations were started by two friends, one of them following the wolves as their guide, and the other following the lions as their guide. The individual kingdoms kept to themselves, powers and interactions limited. The first war started against the Wolf Kingdom in an attempt to unify the nations into the Solarium Empire, but the attempt failed, only for retaliation to occur, fights occurring every generation. Only in 1920, An entire generation of men laid dead on both sides, civilians in the zones of battle slaughtered. The two sides had enough of the fighting, of war, of famine, of death. The monarch of the Wolf Kingdom calling for peace, and an unsteady ceasefire began. Decades later, as the two began to open themselves up and went from small tribes to full Kingdoms that had a presence in the entire world, the nations began to collapse like it's peers around it, the citizens unhappy due to the lack of political reform to become a modern democratic government. The citizens threatened the existence of the nations. Suddenly the Wolf Prince, Kastilo Shepherd, married the Solarium Prince, Eclipse Mendez, and promised reform as both nations unified.

Currently the fledging nation continues the objective of reform, citizens assured in the stability of the government due to the recent unification despite the growing threat that the new cold war presents. News of some nations breaking to civil wars or complete ruins rushing into every household. The laws drafted and given by the people to the people for judgment and approval, and only passing to the monarch for a stamp that is sure to come. Construction on 2 new branches in the Executive is underway, and the judicial system breaking the shackles from the Monarchy near. A brand new Governmental system was on the horizon, but it all stands to say, will the nation survive to see it become fully democratic or will the nation fall into a potential civil war and destroy what the kingdoms built?

Head of State Kastilo watches the sky leaning against the balcony of the castle, unsure of how to go about the new power gained. His husband comforts him, wrapping both of them in a blanket.

The rubble cleared outside the window. The Prime Minister shook her head, "Are we dead?" she asked the Foreign Minister.
Although she could be right she had not died and gone to hell. The area around the party HQ was covered in smoke; fire. The metal beams which used to support buildings were twisted and black. The sound of sirens could be heard distantly but nought could be seen for a thick black fog-shrouded most of the District.

The Foreign Minister looked concerned, "Prime Minister, if this was an attack directly on you then we have cause to declare martial law. It'll be unpopular right before an election but we must ensure that we get to the bottom of this."
The Prime Minister coughed violently, "No, not yet. We must consult with the rest of the Cabinet. For now, we shall remain here. We don't know if any more bombs will be going off."

It was around the time that the glorious electoral victory of Comrade Trotsky in the Soviet Union that the idea of a United Asia would first emerge. The victorious annexation of Germany, and soon, the socialist Internationale front in Europe; was the victory of people everywhere.

The rejection of the workers revolution by the Japanese Empire led to the Second Pacific War: and America, still upset over the European Revolutions, Britain's failed Norwegian invasion and rising tension and rebellious atrocities in the Philippine Islands led by General Antonio Luna would lead to the United States fully embracing isolationism and evacuating Military assets from South East Asia. The Second Pacific War, a resistance front led by the Chinese, the Soviets, and the "Fighting Filipinos" would nearly leave the hopeful Asian land in ruin. The combined patriotism of our comrades around the globe would lead to the Independence of the Pan-Asiatic States in 1991.

As the sun sets on a once imperialistic Japan, eager to conquer the Pacific, the sun rises on a Socialist Pan-Asia; the union of the Orient. United forever in friendship and labour, as the legislation puts it.

Today, the Asians have brought glory to their forefathers. Yet, the struggle is not done, and there is much work to do. Now, they've taken the fight to the west. The Right-wing once again rises in the continent of America. The Asians must work once more, as one nation, to stamp out the flames of fascist oppression.

"We, the People's Republic of Pan-Asiatic States, shall prevail once more. We unfurl our red banners and seize the day to toil once more! Asian Proletariat, Advance!"

The Lemonsky Foreign Ministry had their first major crisis on hand.

The Foreign Minister of Lemonsky arrived on a Tu-144, accompanied by a lone escort and made his way to the district. He was received in a local hotel. The Minister opened his mouth and states: The tragedy and explosions Allyrjia are catastrophic to her people and has sparked international concern. We, the Foreign Ministry, on behalf of the Lemonsky people express deep condolences over the injury and tragic loss of life in this area. We sue for peace, and are ready to contribute to establish a peaceful situation in Allyrjia.

The smoke started to clear and the Prime Minister began to make out the figures of Police Cars, Ambulances and Fire-engines on the scene.
"Arkjallinn, it's safe to go now," Uttered the Foreign Minister.
They made their way out of their building, slowly. Greeted with concern by a Police Officer and taken swiftly to the Parliament where an announcement was being made by the Interior Minister.
"Today, the heart of our nation has been struck. As of now, we know very little. Not how many dead, how many injured. All we know is our Prime Minister and Foreign Minister narrowly escaped the blast. We have three groups who we believe may have been behind today's vicious attack but we do not know for sure at this moment-in-time. We'll be briefing the Press here on any developments in our investigation."

The City of Muskovia, the capital of the Union of Lesser Soviet Republics.

While war raged in Asia, the Soviet Union's Asian republics were left severely damaged and in ruins. Dissent was rampant as a result and it was threatening the existence of the USSR but Premier Trotsky managed to quash them until his death in 1955 at the age of 79. His successor, Premier Mikhail Vasilevsky, continued his predecessor's policies of a world revolution but was forced to relax some of them due to the numerous strikes by disgruntled citizens and a coup by high-ranking military officials.

This quelled most of the dissent and the USSR managed to exist in peace until the late 80's when tensions were running high due to the rise of nationalist movements and the surge of support for opposing which led to several armed conflicts, the largest being the Battle of Grozny where several Islamic paramilitary groups attempted to seize the city but were met with heavy resistance from right-wing militias, Stalinist partisans and the Soviet Armed Forces. The ensuing battle destroyed most of the city, left thousands dead, and displaced the citizens.

Due to the conflicts and a failing economy, the Soviet Union was forced to dissolve in 1992 and 11 new countries were formed. The Union of Lesser Soviet Republics was one of the countries and it was also one of the only 4 socialist states in the former Soviet Union. As it was still recovering from the conflicts, its priorities for now were to rebuild the country and to strengthen its military to defend itself from its potential invaders, which was the US due to it being increasingly dominated by right-wing groups.

Nuak is called for a Press Briefing regarding the open hostilities of the new world, Kastilo walks with a group to the press room.
"Options here?" Kastilo said, eyes landing on this aid closest to him
"Strictly speaking, send economic aid and diplomats"
"Can't we use our military?"
"NO! A strictly bad idea, right now your power is very limited until you pass that military reform and create those offices you wanted."
"How long is that?"
"Another year or so, maybe 2"
"Anyway to get around it"
"If an attack lands on our soil, we can, till then we are absolutely powerless"
Kastilo finally enters the room and steps on to the podium, the new flag of the nation, for the press core to see.
"My fellow citizens, What happened in Allyria is very troubling indeed, and our hearts go out to the victims of the bombing that occurred. However, know that we will not be perusing a hostile military policy. Instead, we will send diplomats to Allyria, and economic aid in these dark times. All the while, Nuak will hereby move all international diplomacy towards armed neutrality. As a result, to every nation that will accept it, we extend our hand. Thank you, and have a nice night."
The hands raise to create a sea of questions, ignored as Kastilo walks away"

The sun dawned over the Kal'Dovaat. But yet, the city stood still. The smoke had cleared and the fire had left but most of the Daïsri District, where Allyria's Government buildings are, had been left in rubble. The Environment and Treasury Ministries were either partially or completely inoperational and disaster recovery teams were hard at work clearing the rubble which blocked nearby streets. Armed police patrolled the streets, a rare sight in Allyria with Police Patrols themselves being a very rare sight in the relatively safe nation.

The only part of the city which still seemed alive was the Athaine Square at the city's heart. The Square is usually home to markets but also houses a large telescreen reserved for concerts but also emergency announcements. The screen lit up. The stern face of the Prime Minister filled the screen with the Allyrian Flag taking up the rest of it. The Prime Minister began to speak, although in Allyrian English subtitles were displayed to assist the many tourists in the city.

"Nation, last night the heart of our land was attacked. The current death toll stands a 400 with 1000 more injured. The Environment and Treasury Ministers are among the injured but are stable in a Military Hospital. This... is the first such attack on our nation. However, it may not be the last. Throughout the night HM's Intelligence has been hard at work tracing the perpetrators of the attack. Although no one group has yet claimed responsibility we already know who carries out this... brutal massacre. Although we are not currently at liberty to say what we do have to say is far more important. What the nation and, more importantly, our people need is calm and stability so we can deal with this internal threat. Therefore, the Defence Secretary and I have agreed to enact Marshal Law on the nation. This is not a decision taken lightly but we must minimise the risk of further attack and make sure anyone who remains in the city and has links is pinned in. All Allyrian cities will be on full lockdown with no unnecessary travel in and out being permitted. A curfew will be enacted and there will be Military and RSF (the RSF being Allyria's Military Police) patrols in the streets. Do not be alarmed if you are stopped or asked for identification, simply co-operate and you have nothing to fear. Karaïntje Allyrije askj ýlser Drottinn!" the Prime Minister signed off.

Just like that, 80,000,000 people found themselves under Marshal Law. However, this was Allyria. The people understood why the Government had taken this decision; our stiff upper lip will carry us through.

After yesterday's orders from the Interior Ministry, RSF Convoys were on the streets of Allyria's cities. This, however, did not appear to trouble the regular citizenry. Perhaps the lack of intimidation was down to the feeling of shared responsibility among most Allyrians which is generally adopted by them during their Conscription Period. Snipers were also reported as being present on the rooftops of some of Allyria's largest cities. The Government has, today, pledged to brief the world press on the current situation at the Magisterium Press Office tomorrow with all global media outlets invited to ask questions on the current situation.

The sun sets on the capital of Howlia, the flag waving in the golden light. The nation sleeps from the day it has had, as the halls of Government stay busy. Several members of the government are dragged out in cuffs from buildings, as many police surround the areas, including the mayor. Around the country arrests happen in public offices, dragging many away. Meanwhile the in the Castle, a choice is called, the line to contact Allyria is searched, and a call goes out to the Head of State

The Emergency committee in a building gathered. It was made up of ministers, aswell as military officials. The Prime Minister said: What is happening in Allyrjia politically is not our concern, and we should not intervene. However the humanitarian and civilian catastrophe which is looming is quite international concern. The Agricultural minister then stated: We can send 100 tons of food and water supplies to the people in need. However, explosions still ring out. After this statement, all eyes shifted on Colonel-General of Engineer Troops Yakov. He said: We cannot deploy en-masse, but at this point, we can send a de-mining company of 120 soldiers to remove rigged bombs.

The hustle and bustle in the rooms of Allyria's most popular broadcasting network, AN, had a sense of omnipresence about it, never dying down come night, day, rain or shine. However, after the nation had been horrifically shaken, the Prime Minister dressed in a black blazer and skirt with grey lapels, the colours of the national flag, had elected to appear on this network to fully brief the nation and, in turn, the press and people of the world. She had taken the decision to be interviewed by rising Journalist, Elin Niravair and to do this interview in English.

She sat down in the fabric armchair which interviews were customarily set in but this time an Allyrian flag was placed on a pole behind her, drooping to show the mood of the nation. Elin sat down opposite her, "Er dil húrin," Elin inquired, seemingly nervous.

"Já," replied the Prime Minister.

The intro for an emergency announcement began to roll,

Image

The intro ended, "Tilshaithnar Allyrije and good morning and evening to the rest of the world," Elin began, striking a confident but sombre tone, "it has been almost 48 hours since the terror attack rocked our nation's heart but yet we still have not been informed as to who the murderer of our fellow Allyrians was. However, I hope today I am able to say that all fears and suspicion will be laid to rest for with me today is the Prime Minister of our nation, Kristina Larathael."

"Thank you, Elin," began the Prime Minister, "Firstly, I would like to thank all Allyrians for the calm and proper way in which we have carried ourselves in the past few days. In the streets, all seems normal and every time I saw a fellow Allyrian begin to weep over the loss of a close one, it was nice to see your comforting spirits surround them. However, the news I bring today can only be described as bittersweet. HM's intelligence has discovered the perpetrators of the attack which devastated the heart of our nation a few nights ago. From the hushed whispers I have heard, suspects have ranged from the Lemonskites to revolutionary cells left over after our civil war. But these were not to blame. The crime was committed from within our nation. From a people, we took in and called our own many years ago. From a people, you would not consider capable of harming any of our world's creatures. I am sorry to say this Allyria, but the perpetrators of the attack were a group known as the Tsaini people's front. The people of the Tsai'ini islands who we saved from destruction so many years ago have decided to shed the blood of their fellow Allyrians. Why? Because of the petty cultural differences which separate us. Because they do not appreciate the bond which we have had. Because they do not understand that without us, they would have faced their destruction long ago. The committee on internal security decided, after discovering the formation of a rebellion in the Tsai'ini Islands - our 'loyal' colony, to launch an invasion to re-secure the island. As we speak, 12,000 Allyrian soldiers from all across our great nation are sailing over the sea of ghosts to restore order in the rebellious colony. In addition, the King has ordered local Governor Kulru Nilma to step down and his government of the Islands will be replaced by the temporary leadership of General Aran Alsvat who will be forming a government of stability in the colony. In addition, as soon as order is restored the islands will be integrated fully into the Kingdom, becoming a new province. I would like to thank all listening, stay safe and goodbye."

The signal cut off and regular scheduled programming was resumed.

With the most recent national collapses around the world the government of Omicron is on high alert and the national forces have been placed on alert. In a press conference to the people the leader John Yates made this announcement. "I understand this is a difficult time for all of us but rest assured these events will not tarnish our proud nation and the steps we take now are to ensure a safe future for all within our borders". It is unclear what the government plans for the future right now.

The United Conservative Provinces had never had the opportunity to become a superpower until now. The nation was still very young with a growing population, but had not taken part in many international conflicts. The end of the cold war had not effected the UCP like many other nations in the world, the nation's economy was still strong and the bank systems were still intact. Days before the cold war ended the people of the UCP had elected a new president, Mathew Ray, and things were about to change for the country. President Ray saw an opportunity to expand the country's power through international alliances with older nations and ones that were currently more dependent on other nations' exports because of the war. He knew that the exporting of national goods would boost the economy allow them to grow their nation's military might.

About a week later Mathew Ray had finally finalized a bill that he wanted to propose to the UCP senate. It was a bill requesting to use national taxes to pay corporations to export their goods to countries victim of the cold war. President Ray knew that the bill would be very costly to the government upfront, but in the long run the country would bring in more money from the exports than it costed to pay the corporations.

Agnosicstani National News

"Hello, and welcome to the news. As always, Duma Questions have been firey, with the AAFP leveling several questions about the state of the economy towards Prime Minister Dvinki, with Leader of the Opposition Roman Dvinki showing no sympathy towards his brother. The Social-Forwards Parties leader has once again proven his near inability to answer on-the-spot questions and as such he has once again recieved scathing reports from the opposition benches, many of whom believe he will be removed in the next election. Furthermore, the Prime Minister has agreed that the decaying state of the economy should be the parties foremost objective. In other news, a statue for the late Marshal von Prippen has been erected in Tsar's Square, and the statue was revealed by Her Most Glorious Highness, Sophia. Before the nation, though she was in near-tears at the death of her old servant, she soldiered on in the heart-felt tribute. Finally, it has been confirmed..."

The Social-Forwards party, to combat the slow decline in the economy, has finally decided to end the Agnosicstani policy of economic isolationism, opening themselves towards trade deals and, for the first time, lowering all tarriffs on goods to 5% or under. It is believed the party has faced rebellion from within its own ranks.
God Save Tsarina! God Save Avrokrat! Long live Agnosicstan, land of Plenty!

The explosions in Allyrje have shaken the world. The Government of Lemonsky, headed by the newly elected President, Petro Chernyak, expressed their condolences.

"Such an attack has exacerbated the current geo-political situation. It is critical that through means of compromise and negotiation a settlement of the issue be achieved. Our country will be ready to act as a gateway to peace talks. If it does not succeed, and the people of Allyrje have to resort to a force settlement of the given issue, the Lemonsky National Guard and the Armed Forces will be ready to send peacekeeping units to Allyrje" said the president in a meeting of the Council of Minister

In other news, a new Minister of Defense of Lemonsky has been appointed. The new minister is Army General Zhytov, who has been the main supporter of the recent uniform reform and other reforms which aimed to establish the Lemonsky Armed Forces in a smaller, compact strike force.

In addition to the recent news, the Lemonsky Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "The current buildup of the Conservative Force's Military is indeed worrying. After the recent Cold War, we all aim for peaceful cooperation and coexistence instead of a second Cold War."

Meanwhile, the Lemonsky Polar program has been resumed. The fleet of 10 Icebrakers, which was the pride of all of the shipyards around Lemonsky, have been put back to service, after spending long years lying in port. The home of the icebreaker fleet, the Arctic Port of Polarny has been overhauled, with modern equipment and technologies. The commander of the icebreaker fleet was appointed Vice Admiral Ivanov.

Waves lapped against the shores of Disalia, the capital island of the Tsai'ini Islands. A mere week ago, the Allyrian flag flew high and proud above the island but had now been replaced by the banner of the self-declared Tsai'ini People's Republic who had prised the islands from the hands of their rightful master, Allyria. The moon shone high over these jungled, volcanic islands with the only ever-present sound being that of the sea. But that sound was to be interrupted. The howl of jet engines filled the air with their afterburners lighting up the sky behind them. Then, another sound. Not only were the skies lit up, but the main city on Disalia had begun to glow orange, begun to burn. The forests too had been painted the same burning orange colour. The bombers ceased dropping Napalm and returned to their carrier, leaving the rebellious island ablaze.

The sun rose above a battered island. Buildings were charred and jungles had been blackened and the sounds of the sea were interrupted once again as Allyrian helicopters begun flying over the islands to provide air support for newly landing Allyrian troops under the command of General Aran Alsvat. The 12,000 Royal Guard troops, the King's own soldiers, secured the island's beachheads before making their way further inland. They began to move through the white buildings of the island's capital. The buildings themselves still stood strong but their insides had been gutted by the fires which had raged the night before. Visible on the walls were the silhouettes of rebel soldiers who had burned alive, the streets littered with their charred corpses. No one was sure whether they had burned, suffocated or ended their own suffering. The message was clear to these soldiers and all watching, rebellion will no longer be tolerated in Allyria.

With that message, the Allyrian flag was hoisted up on the island's centre, the archipelago had returned to Allyrian control. The General declared martial law on the islands and promised to rebuild and restore them, eventually integrating them fully into Allyria. With this message, he proudly proclaimed that no civilians had been injured due to them having evacuated days prior. Operation Northern Grasp had re-asserted Allyria's military prowess and avenged those lost in the Kal'Dovaat bombing, it was time for the rest of the world to react.

In Agnosicstan, so recently isolated, there was a large amount of public outcry at the attack. The use of napalm and the invasion of a potentially sovereign nation had upset many citizens of the nation and had forced the government to release an official statement, written and spoken by Her Most Glorious Highness, Sophia Rumonsk-Nalklov:

"It is with regret that I must denounce the tyrannical and aggressive actions of the Allyrian nation. Their hostile invasion of the Tsai'ini People's Republic is a gross offense not just against the people of the island, but indeed against the world. While I do not stand with communism, the ideal of a people being able to breathe free and liberally under the leaders they chose are ones held very closely to my heart, much like how the Agnosicstani people restored me to my throne only a few years ago. This blatant disregard for the will of the people of this island is despicable, and it is with a heavy heart that I must denounce this hostile invasion."

Tsarina Sophia's speech had earnt her claps from the crowd, to which she waved as she stepped down from her podium. The Prime Minister had not been expecting her speech, however, and soon the foreign office was thrown into chaos in an attempt to downplay the international implications of the Tsarina's speech.
God Save Tsarina! God Save Avrokrat! Long live Agnosicstan, land of Plenty!

Grater Tovakia had been peaceful and prosperous for over 3 decades. Even during the Cold War Grater Tovakia was able to stay surprisingly neutral while still being able to show off its impressive military might. The terrorist attack in Allyria had been back page news as many Grater Tovakian news Agencies reported on the booming economy and the Master's Golf tournament starting today. As usual, the Presidential Cabinet met at 8:00 AM discussing various issues pertaining to the running of the Government. The last item on the docket was the terrorist attack but this was skipped as the new farming subsidies package introduced by the Agriculture minister took longer to discuss then expected. The President (honorary title really a dictator) then took his national security brief and hosted a Masters watch party for politicians and military officials for the rest of the day.

The attack indeed shocked the Lemonsky Peoples. A former opponent of Allyrja during the infamous cold war, the government was divided on how to solve this issue. Finally, did the Foreign Ministry issue a statement:

"The napalm bombing of the islands has been shocking, and from the Lemonskian people, we express deep condolences to the families of the victims and to the damage cause. We motion for the self-proclaimed republic and the Allyrjian government to find ways of a dialogue to peacefully resolve this situation. However, it is good to say that no civilians have been harmed. On the other hand, the rebel forces are known to be a threat to Allyrja's sovereignty and have been dealt with in a manner which saved civilians from the carnage, and enforced constitutional order. Should the rebels disagree to all dialogue, the Lemonsky Government will be able to contribute to a multi-national peacekeeping force."

The press release room at the Foreign Ministry was packed full of journalists; cameras all pointed towards the podium placed at the front of the room. An Allyrian national flag was placed between the flags of the military and a flag bearing the heraldry of Allyria's ruling house. The atmosphere in the room was tense and cold with the desert heat usually present in Kal'Dovaat seemingly absent from the room.

After an hour's wait, the Foreign Minister, Adertina Vvjarimatil, came striding out, a stony look present on her face, and took her position at the podium. She glared straight down the room at a camera directly opposite, a camera broadcasting live to the world.

She began to speak, loud and clear "Firstly, I would like to officially announce the success of operation Northern Grasp and would like to announce that no Allyrian soldiers or Tsai'ini civilians were harmed during the operation, only making its success more profound and apparent. It is also important to inform the world of the role General Aran Alsvat played in both the operation, its success as well as the central role he will play in rebuilding our battered subject and integrating them fully into our Kingdom. It is also with great joy that I'm more than elated to announce the end of martial law on mainland Allyria as well as the removal of roadblocks on all roads except those that would normally be subject to such conditions.

However, it is with great sorrow and some anger that our Kingdom must justify its actions and internal security apparatus to the rest of the world. Firstly, I would like to address the statement made by the head of state of Agnosicstan. I must ask Tsarina, are you aware of the level of autonomy that was not possessed to only the Tsai'ini islands but to all provinces of our Kingdom? The Tsai'ini had more control over their affairs than any other part of Allyria so by bombing the heart of our nation, not only did they bite the hand which feeds them but they sacrificed all rights to that autonomy. The Tsai'ini people were free to choose and elect their own leaders from a ballot decided by themselves but forfeited that when they targeted our government and the heart of our nation in a vile, despicable plot which took 400 souls from our world far before their time.

Secondly, I wish to address the statement made by the Foreign Ministry of Lemonsky. It is a disgrace that they continue to try to meddle in our affairs with a 'multi-national peacekeeping force'. It seems their memories are short and but the supply for their superiority complex is not. I wish to remind them that the last time they invested themselves in the internal affairs of our nation, they did not end up on the winning side now, did they?

Finally, I wish to lay to rest any humanitarian concerns relating to the welfare of the Tsai'ini people. The Tsai'ini people are Allyrian, they have been since the foundation of our Kingdom and they will remain so for the foreseeable future. Most did not support the rebellion and only those who did so need be worried about imprisonment or execution for treason. The use of napalm was decided after we discovered the absence of these civilians on the island which served as the provincial capital of the islands in a way to reduce overall deaths. If our troops had to fight their way through the islands, not only would our Prime Minister have to write more letters to our families who were still left grieving after the terrible attack in Kal'Dovaat but cleaning up the pockets of Tsai'ini insurgents would've taken many more months and sapped resources better suited for rebuilding the isles. In this way, our government is more concerned with the wellbeing of its own soldiers as opposed to the wellbeing of enemy combatants.

I must apologise to the press but no questions will be permitted on this matter on this day. Thank you."

The Foreign Minister exits the press room and the camera feed from the room is cut

With tensions mounting within neighbouring nations the defence secretary Rupert Smith make this statement in a press conference "Dear citizens in these troubled times we must help our neighbours from making the mistakes which may hurt us all. As a result peacekeepers have been dispatched to all nations concerned to maintain order until a stable government can be formed in each nation. We thank you for your continued support and patience".
