Hey, I'm not a mod so my opinion doesn't count. It's obvious you put a lot of work into it so I would just leave it up and let Flutter take a look at it.

Analyzing the powers I can't say that there is enough difference between your and my characters. Professor D'Arte has an influence over cellular process, while it seems that Mr. Elliott simply advances a person's age in a general sense including aging, ailment, and frailty it seems. Professor D'Arte is more than interested in his abilities, and would be thrilled to consider a rivalry with another who can manipulate the human form.

I put in an app for a hero to help with balance. If further balancing is needed I can postpone the introduction of professor D'Arte until it is a better situation.

Since a lot of the characters work/live at or near Gotham University, how about you have the Scarecrow break into the chemistry lab after hours and see what develops?

That can work for the people in the factions, but the indie people are still going to need something and have it not get overshadowed by the faction stuff.

Personally I'd like something that could get Harley involved in an anti-Hero capacity or something that just involves killing bad guys even if she is not good. Maybe one of the bad guy groups tries to kill her or does so after first trying to recruit her.

No offense, Flutter, but why does Scarecrow have to be part of a faction? Can't everyone, villains and heroes, just be independent agents for now, forming whatever alliances they choose based on necessity or moral outlook or even just whether they like one another or not. Of course, Batgirl would be allied with Robin but maybe leave it up in the air as to what factions everyone else decides to join.

I just realized something- Both Crane and Harley are psychiatrists/psychologists. I think it would be really interesting if they were pitted against one another in that regard. Maybe Harley joins up with the good guys because of circumstances and uses her skills as a shrink to combat Scarecrow. Or maybe one of the heroes gets exposed to the fear toxin and Harley has to treat them as a shrink. Also, Yaana, how do you feel about Harley treating Babs for her OCD and neither one knowing the other's costumed identity?

Just a few more thoughts because I'm bored-

I could see Elias(Crimson Thorn) and Amelia(Edict) being a couple/working as a team because they seem a good match in both their civilian and costumed identities. They both seem like upper-class, high society folks that are sticklers for good manners. Elias doesn't like loud noises and Amelia is a mute for most of the time. And they're both ruthless and have god complexes and believe they're right about everything. Also, @TheVOID, I'm assuming Amelia uses sign language to communicate in everyday situations?

I think D'Arte or Scarecrow would be interested in Phlegethon as a test subject, involving his powers or because of his f'd-up mental state.

I could see Riddler and Batgirl as flip sides of the coin. They're both hackers; Riddler likes to leave clues behind and Babs has the photographic memory to uncover them.

D'Arte, Gunslinger and Babs all work for the University but at different professional hierarchies- D'Arte's a tenured professor, Babs is a research librarian and Ed is a security guard. Might be interesting in seeing how that dynamic plays out- D'Arte giving Babs orders, Babs giving Ed orders, Ed trying to assert university security rules over his academic superiors.

Last thought- Maybe Jack is a regular visitor to the library because he's a custodian and doesn't have much money and the library's free and he can study the religious texts. He's not a university student so technically he's not supposed to be there but Babs lets him in because she feels sorry for him and Ed doesn't like that she does it because it's a security issue?

Like I said, I'm bored and when I'm bored, I come up with stuff. They're nothing more than suggestions, take them or leave them. If you feel like I'm stepping on your toes or if you're just annoyed, Flutter, just tell me and I'll quit it.

Amelia lives mostly in the Narrows, which is one of the poorer communities in Gotham and is rife with gang violence and such. She operates throughout Gotham. Of course, her building is rather... secure, usually by people rather thoroughly enthralled by her power.

Despite the fact she can barely tolerate the chaos of the Narrows, she lives there precisely because no one would suspect someone like Edict to live in a place like that. In her civilian guise, she was a 'mute' waitress at a restaurant elsewhere in Gotham. She communicates by notepad, mostly, since it is most likely a common civilian will be able to understand that better.

Of course, her handwriting is in perfectly sized and written cursive, as though she'd typed the words into the notepad's paper.

With the money she's earned (read: stolen from gangsters) and such, as well as her powers, she could easily live the 'high life' - but that's what people would expect. Just because she hates chaos doesn't mean she's going to allow herself to be caught by being predictable.

She isn't a waitress anymore since she almost got caught. Now, she mostly lives as Edict.
