Biography: James was born in the Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago to Joseph and Elaine (nee Mykolaichuk). He grew up in a fairly upper middle class family. He was the oldest of three children and attended the Pulaski International School of Chicago and later the Bucktown Academy where he excelled in mathematics and athletics. He was a standout Track and Field athlete. He attended the University of Chicago on a scholarship and majored in Computer Science. He competed for the University and placed well in regional competition but never was able to enter higher competition. He graduated from school where he spent some time looking for work. He first started working for Integrys Energy Group as a Security Programer where he would program security features to the computer system of the company. He ended up moving to a small apartment in Ravenswood and started to settle down. After a few years His position was terminated after structural reworks within the company. After a little looking he found an open position within Atlas Corporation. He applied and after a few weeks of rigorous interviews and background checks he was granted a junior IT position in the company.

After a few years he rose steadily through the corporate structure to being one of the top guys in the field. While he was never allowed to access corporate files he was present in backing up and securing Atlas information. He was fairly good at his job and kept a low profile at work, preferring to keep things simple.

On the day of the bio-attacks James had returned from working out at the Urban Athlete near his apartment. He returned to his apartment to watch the news and see what had happened as he was getting ready to go into work. At first he had chosen to head off to a friends home and hunker down hoping that the government would take care of the issue. But as the situation deteriorated and after series of small gun fights near the building he set out to find somewhere safer around the 17th day of the outbreak. He grabbed a gallon jug of water he still had and stuck it in a backpack as well as his employee ID incase he was able to use it for anything. He left looking for a safezone he had heard of. However as he really started to get a grasp of the situation he came to the conclusion that the safe zones were not something that he could get to. He ended up going with a small group who wanted to get a boat and head off to Canada. However as the days went by the group quickly desilved as disagreements quickly arised. Soon James was back on his own, as he was walking one night to change positions and scavenging for stuff while the infected seemed more dorment, he came across the body of a dead police officer. He picked up his pistol, a Springfield XD pistol with no ammo in it or on the body of the officer. He took the pistol anyway and would use it scare off others he didn’t want to deal with as he travelled through Chicago looking for somewhere safe.

Biography: Antonio King, professionally known as 18 Method, is a nationally-famous rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer, who was born on July 11, 1990, in Atlanta Georgia. Raised in the neighborhood of Bankhead, King was exposed to the crime and gang violence of the Atlanta underworld at a very young age, though intentionally got himself involved in order to assist his mother and sisters at home. Antonio was given his first taste of crime in his third year of middle school, when he unknowingly partook in the robbery of a liquor store which, by some sheer stroke of luck, did not result in his death or arrest.

With many of his friends dead from shootouts or gang violence and unwilling to continue down a life of crime, King switched his path to a new career of becoming an aspiring rapper which, surprisingly, turned out to be the greatest choice of his life. King was turning out to be an excellent rapper and singer even without professional support, steadily rising in popularity as he released several mixtapes out to the streets between 2011 and 2012. King first became involved in music professionally as part of the Big Shot collective, where he gained his nickname of "18 Method." After his first mixtapes were met with positive reviews, King signed a major record label deal with I'mAwesome Records and and HOT Recordings, which helped him launch his own label imprint, Methodz.

Using this as momentum, King subsequently released his debut album, 0 to Hero, in July 2012 to positive reviews. His second album, Epic, was then released approximately a year after 0 to Hero, surpassing his debut on the album charts by a longshot. The album was met with positive reviews from music critics and regular listeners alike, whom noted it for its original style. The album was included in a number of year-end lists for 2013, and was labeled as the album of the year by several websites, including Complex. 18 Method's song "Read it" was noted as one of the standout tracks from the album, being included on a number of 2013 year-end lists, such as Rolling Stone's 100 Best Songs of 2013. Whilst this happened, King performed at numerous concerts, skyrocketing his popularity onto the national level as he became a big player in an already competitive and changing mainstream rap arena.

His popularity was not without fault, however: King was arrested several times by Atlanta Police for drug and firearm related charges, as well as, most notably, several DUIs, including one arrest following a rather extensive police chase on the highway reminiscent of OJ Simpson's famous chase. Though he was either bailed out or let on parole on most of these occasions, this did affect King's view on his home town, eventually leading to his relocation to Chicago, where he would base the rest of his projects out of.

Between late 2014 and early 2015, King released a trio of Chicago-oriented albums to highcritical praise: Watch Me (2014), Uber (2015), and 30 Nights (2015). His next releases, Darkside (2015) and Thundercatz (2015, in collaboration with another nationally-famous rapper, Rico) all debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, gaining him enormous clout in the process. The latter two albums made him the first artist since 1968 to debut two albums in consecutive weeks atop of that chart. As of early 2016, 18 Method had also released several singles certified gold or higher by the RIAA, including "Glow Up", "Move That Shit", "Ghosts", "Use You", "The Way it Goes", "Down Low" and "Beast Mode".

Unfortunately, 18 Method long streak of successes would be cut short by the eventual outbreak in the summer. Leading up to that day, King had planned to go on tour throughout the country, starting in Chicago and ending in his home town of Atlanta, the former of which was expected to be his largest concert ever. However, his prospects of gaining even more fame would come cut short when the outbreak began, leaving Antonio in the midst of a terrible situation armed with only an illegally-acquired AR-15, and at the mercy of anyone or anything willing to look past the rapper's fame for the sake of survival.

Skills: Franklin used to spend his vacation days in the outdoors, either hunting or camping. Franklin has tried to lead an active lifestyle outside of his work, making him slightly more in shape than the average desk jockey.

Weaknesses: Having had chickenpox in his youth, Kersey has contracted Shingles in recent years. Without medication, and unable to see a doctor, his rashes are quite painful.

After the events at the Courthouse, Franklin has felt very morose, believing all those deaths were his fault.

Biography: Kersey was born in Rochester, New York on September 22, 1967 to Lucille Kersey and Kenneth Kersey. He was the middle of three children, with an older sister and a younger brother. He went on to attend the University of Syracuse, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree with high honors. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School in 1992, and then clerked for a judge on the First Circuit Court of Appeals. For a brief period thereafter he had his own practice in Evanston, just north of downtown Chicago. Kersey won election to a trial judge seat on the Chicago County Circuit Court in 1999. President George W. Bush nominated Kersey to a seat on the Seventh Circuit on November 14, 2006. Kersey had had another option to return to his hometown of Rochester, which in hindsight would have been a preferable place to spend the apocalypse.

Instead, Kersey remained in Chicago and was closing in on having served the city for a decade before the apocalypse rocked the world.

Shortly after the outbreak spread to Chicago, the national guard began occupying the Federal Courthouse. They starting pooling nearby VIPs in the Courthouse, and made efforts to fortify the area against the veritable horde of infected that were taking over downtown. Because of his status as a Federal civil servant, Kersey was put under the protection of the National Guard along with a handful of the other judges who were there at the time. He did what he could to try and convince the National Guard to take survivors off the chaotic streets and into the relatively safe Courthouse. Unfortunately, without a sufficient number of soldiers and dwindling supplies it was only a matter of time before they were overrun. One of the survivors that Kersey had convinced the National Guard to take in turned in the middle of the night. It only took a matter of minutes before the whole Courthouse became a bloodbath. Kersey might have died, and in his mind should have, but only sheer luck was he able to escape.

With the Courthouse overrun, Kersey and a handful of others took what they could and ran off into downtown. The city was in ruins, and roving bands of zombies now patrolled the streets. It wasn’t long before Kersey was the only one left, managing to stay alive only by the skin of his teeth.
