Backstory: Archibald had always been fascinated with the myths and legends of the world. Seeing the effect on architecture, history, and behavior he studied many of these myths in depth, leading him down a path to the occult. Driving him to the edges of academic sanity, Archibald wrote his dissertation on the affect of myth and legend on environmental policy. It drew the eyes of many different groups, including a small cultist cell, which he would find to be a front of the Society of Shadows. He was drawn into the fold and learned many of the practices of the group, growing fond of the art of biological manipulation.
This aspect of their teaching intrigued Archibald to the point of experimentation. Having many formulae available to him, he hypothesized that if one were to collect liquid from a pool of "living water" as his texts suggested, and combined it with the accelerant/decelerant formula, It would create a new formulae that would grant the consumer the power over the processes. This "living water" had been outlined in history by fountains of youth and holy grails, but nothing near his area. He consulted his circle and sure enough they all refused to give the information. So he bid his time. He became a professor at Gotham University and with the position gained certain research provisions. He received access to some old preserved texts referring to a pit that restores life, or a "Lazarus Pit" as comparisons to other lore seemed to suggest. The texts gave a location which Archibald knew was guarded as a dangerous and dilapidated area. So knowing the time constraint he prepared the formula prior and sealed it in a vial. He brought along the required materials to safely extract an untainted sample of the living water, some mobile clothes to allow for ease of movement, and a small hand gun in case of confrontation.
He made his way to the old town and made his way through the many layers of security. Sneaking through what he could, and sliding in through the hidden cracks to find an open space with a pit at the back of the room. He approached it slowly, feeling an eerie presence near, and set up his little extraction manifold. Mixing the collected "living water" with the serum he let it sit for about five minute to let it all distill correctly. He then heard it, breathing and chanting. It continued as the minutes passed, and when the time came to consume the concoction he saw the form of a man take shape. In a panic he took the vial and downed the entire serum. Everything was fine until he felt his insides burn. His vision blurred and his legs were too weak for him to stand back up. He saw the form approach closer and closer until he drifted to sleep. When he awoke, the man sat there beside him with a pot of tea and a smile, "So, you finally came. I heard of you from one of my fronts, but I want to officially offer you a place at the table of the new world." And with those words, Archibald was fully welcomed into Society of Shadows.
Powers/Weapons/Tech: Bio-Manipulation(The speeding and slowing of bio-processes to the point of rapid growth or wilting. Not able to destroy life with the ability or to create new.)
Weaknesses: If power is over-exerted then a toll is taken upon him physically. Over-exertion would be such as keeping a fully grown man in a "wilted" state in excess of an hour or causing the growth of plants exceeding three times it's normal biological limit. If put into this weakened state, he is prone to light-sensitivity, muscle soreness, and general weakness. Recuperates after equivalent exchange of energy is met.
Skills:Excellent speaking skills, strategy, deduction, and research
RP Examples: I have experience in RP just no examples in this site, so the examples below are from some of my other exploits.
Entering into the town on his steed, Jaokim Melora rides up to the stables. After paying for the stay in the stable and inn, he makes way toward the town center where a small crowd was gathering around some bards playing their tunes. Forcing himself into the front of the crowd he smiled at the two battle bards and took out a coin, waiting to see who would slip first.
Mark looked over his domain, a small series of boxes of workers at their desks when he heard this bit of news.(prior to this a friendly competitor called to inform the middle manager character of a possible merger between the two companies) Contemplating the situation, he turned back to his phone, "Looking at the market shares it seems that this merger can only be mutually beneficial. There isn't much we can do about it now if the administration decides to join, we just roll. I plan on rolling to the top, and if you were smart you'd stay out of my way instead of cluttering my path with rumors. I'll talk to you later." At this he hung up the call and sat down.
There was too much at risk now, so Mark thought about his prospects. If he didn't adapt he wouldn't survive, but if he did adapt, it could prove a hurdle he may not get over. He began reviewing his accounts and comparing them to the Market. He picked up the phone to get in contact with Hector, the stock trader who can help him with the upcoming trouble with his finances.
