I'm thinking either 6 or 8. I want an even amount because the Shadow Assassins sometimes go on missions in teams.

Faction: The Sidiroú
Biography: Born in Dacryn, Deruin always had dreams of attending the National Academy of Magical Arts in Kalingway. Like most members of his family, he inherited an insatiable desire to learn, and he had the potential to become a great mage at the academy. When the time came, however, he was refused acceptance due to his family’s past association with the Allegrod family prior to the coup. To Deruin’s surprise, however, he received a letter from the local Dacryn School, even though he never applied. With his desire to attend an academy still unsatisfied, however, he accepted the offer without hesitation. The year he graduated, he was approached by the Sidiroú and offered to join their ranks. The Sayuga family had asked Deruin and other aspiring mages to attend the Dacryn School with the hopes of recruiting them. His bitterness towards the Esquoria’s still fresh in his heart, he joined, and has been training under the Sidiroú since.

No Savros mage has been capable of wielding this legendary fire in generations, however.
History: House Savros traces its roots to an ancient clan of pyromancers that believed that their fire was the one used by Occidere himself, hence the name it was given. For centuries, the Savros family loyally served the House of Allegrod, serving as advisors and guards to the Emperor. The Art of Illusion: Corvo’s Esoteric specialty is magic related to accomplishing his missions as stealthily as possible. With his pyromancy, Corvo is able of creating bright, loud flashes that disorient his foe. With his wind magic, Corvo can muffle the sound he or others make while creating sounds that can throw trackers off his trail. His greatest potential, however, is revealed while there is smoke. Limitations: Quite limited beyond sand magic. Forced to be incredibly resourceful in places without sand.

Biography: Orphaned as a child, Asgast was apprenticed to an alchemist in the Desert Regions of the South at the age of 16. It was here that his talents were noticed by one of the alchemists' frequent patrons, a mage, who took Asgast under his wing and sent him to learn at the Aesyrus Mage Academy. Asgast showed a proficiency in dealing with Earth magic, and so it was decided to allow him to stay to study to become an Inquisitor. Trained in Sand magic, Asgast carried out many duties for Cagia, ranging from contract killing to intervening in rebellious, isolated settlements. Asgast was proud of what he did, owing to the fact it contributed to the stability of Cagia as a whole, and the prosperity of its people. When the House of Allegrod took over, Asgast was pressured into joining the Red Dawn, but instead decided to use his contacts in the Desert Regions to go underground, and joined up with The Sidiroú in the region. He has been fighting with them ever since.

Character Name: Ghand Uritall
Appearance: https://secure.i.telegraph.co.uk/multim ... 32209k.jpg
House (what family does your character belong to?):
Gender: Male
Age: 54
Mage Type: Archmage
Magic/Abilities: Uritall has focussed his studies on Earth magic. He has in-depth knowledge of Earth mining and building magic, and is considered to be the ultimate authority on theological matters of Vultus Ediniem and his powers, including the hidden magic that is stored deep in the vaults of the Iron Fortress.
Limitations: His powers require constant study and practise to remain in the shape that they are. His greatness is not easily maintained. Also, unbeknownst to most, he is beginning to suffer from the Kiss of Vultus: he is slowly turning into stone. It is an affliction that endangers many who devote their life to studying Earth magic. Also, he has gotten fat.
Faction: the Order of the Bearers of the Hammer of Vultus Ediniem and His Holy Works, pro-government
Biography: Uritall was one of those boys discovered at an early age to have a gift for Earth magic. His parents were poor, and had no knowledge of such things, but a local priest discovered his aptitude. Morally, the parents basically had no choice but to give up their Child to the order. Because his parents were nameless, Ghand received the surname of the priest who discovered him.
Having been sent to the Academy at Eravil, Uritall underwent rigorous training. This was the New Church, in which mages controlled the entire Order, so the curriculum was hard. There was the general teaching of magic, but also the finer arts of masonry and engineering, together with lessons in economics and even politics. Uritall showed an aptitude for research and theology, and was thus entered into the Council of Theology. This was not really impressive, since the Council consisted of thousands of members, and would be comparable to a guild.
If there was anything Uritall excelled in besides theology, it was politics. While most of his colleagues debated on large issues of the Faith, Uritall managed to talk his way up the ladder, partially by making friends in other fields. He became a part of the Obelisk faction: a younger group of mages who wanted the Order to become more politically active. He first rose within this faction, and then within the order itself on the support of the Obelisk faction. The conservatives within the Order could do little to stop his meteoric rise. Eventually, after decades of struggle, and just before the conservatives banded together to stop him, Uritall was elected as Grand Councillor, the highest position in the entire order.
As Grand Councillor, Uritall has done much to further the advancement of his Order. While the Order is neutral, officially, Uritall has given his support to the house of Esquoria, as ancient followers of the ways of Vultus Ediniem. However, the conservative faction is against this, and wants Uritall to take a more neutral approach, fearing the order being involved in some kind of civil conflict. Instead, Uritall has doubled down, and the Order now works closely with the Red Dawn Army in order to procure funds and castles. Over the past few weeks, Uritall has grown to become distrusting of everyone, both a sign of his advancing age and the Kiss of Vultus coming over him, slowly turning him to rock.
Additional Information: A personal friend and former teacher of Luther Esquoria
NS Name: GCCS
Faction Name: The Order of the Bearers of the Hammer of Vultus Ediniem and His Holy Works (The Order of the Hammer or the Order of the Bearers for short)
Leader: Ghand Uritall
Faction Alignmen: Neutral pretence, although they are actually pro-Luther Esquoria
Goals: Protect the faithful and the Holy Works of Vultus Ediniem
Size/Influence: As one of the Four Churches, the Order of the Bearers is quite influential in both the day-to-day lives of the citizens and the politics of the kingdom. While they have to share influence with the four other Orders, they are also an important economic factor to consider.
Base of OperationsDe iure the High Stone Cathedral in Eravil, but the Grand Councillor of the Order generally resides in the capital of Kalingway to exert the power of his office in the day-to-day politics. The base of the Order in the capital is the Iron Fortress, where many riches and secret books are kept hidden.
History:The Order has an interesting place in the world today, brought about by hundreds of years of history. Before the conquests of the Iuashani Kingdom the worship of Vultus Ediniem was decentralised and deeply regional in nature. Most cultures had something akin to an Earth deity, but some had these deities split up over multiple personalities, some worshipped the fire and earth deities as one, and Vultus was known by many different names. There was some exchange between the different versions of the religion, but since they were so different, there was little meaningful exchange between the various theologians versed in the matter.
The conquests of the Iuashani Kingdom changed all that. The Triumvirate saw the importance of a unified religious body for all her people, as that was the first step to unifying all the cultures under themselves. In their wisdom, the original Triumvirate saw it as important not just to impose their own views on the world, but to make some kind of compromise on the nature of all deities. The Five Councils of Tangers were held: four for each of the base elements and one final council to demarcate the differences between these deities. The Council of Earth, later called the Council of Vultus Ediniem, was held in Eravil. There, the whole theology of the God was hammered out, his symbols were decided, and Eravil was named as his Holy City. On the place of the Council was build the High Stone Cathedral, one of the most magnificent feats of architecture and engineering in the known world. They also established a crude hierarchy of a unified church, with a council of master theologians at the top. Each master would represent one of the core pillars of the faith: a High Mason, a High Miner, a High Master Builder, a High Theologian and a High Mage. These five Councillors, each elected by their own congregations, would lead this Order.
Over time, however, the Order evolved, both under pressure from politics and from natural evolution. First, as the infrastructure of the Academies expanded, more and more Earth mages were discovered. While not the biggest in membership (that was the Council of Miners), the Council of Mages had the most influence within the Church. After all, the Mages generally performed tasks that made all other work far easier. Master Builders and Master Masons were often also Mages, whose powers were incredibly helpful in day-to-day tasks. Since Mages were admitted in the order from an early age, they were generally more loyal to the Council of Mages than the other Councils. Over the years, the High Mage gained more and more power within the Council of Five, until he overshadowed all others. The Concordat of Eravil reorganised the structure of the Church in this light. From that point on, the Council of Five would become a Council of Six, with a Grand Councillor presiding. This Grand Councillor would always be a Mage, and the structure of the church would intertwine the mages on every level.
This intertwining led to an unprecedented golden age for all professions. Mining tunnels were dug by powerful mages striking through stone to get to veins. Masons carved statues and building stones with the help of mages. Most importantly, the masons erected powerful buildings not only for their own church, but now also in service of the Kingdom. Palaces, churches for all faiths, monuments, fortresses… The Order became the guild hall for magical builders, who could construct the most fantastical buildings with the effort it would take normal builders to construct a simple church. The New Citadel of Kalingway was but one example of their building prowess.
This centralisation, however, did mean the Church would become more detached from the Triumvirate. The Grand Councillor of the Church was a powerful person in their own right, no longer entirely subordinate to the Triumvirate. Being the sole people responsible for building the most splendorous palaces, they were also quite rich, and their financial situation (as well as their disposition to mine gold and build strong fortresses, made them bankers. The addition of a seventh councillor for bankers promoted this fact. This addition also made the Church incredibly corrupt, as favours could just as well be bought as gained through piety. Among the Four Churches, the Order of the Hammer is seen as the most greedy. They financially back the Esquoria-family, as they see them as the way for the Order to gain more political influence.
In short, the Order is a mix of bankers, master-builders and miners, all led by a cabal of mages in it for the money and the grandeur, seeking money and riches most of all. The Order is a Church, a financial institution, a cartel, and a mix of guilds all in one.

Just had an idea for another type of magic/martial art along the lines of chi-blockers. Would something like that lend well to this RP?

His parents scraped up what little money they had to send him to a mage school. He would be kicked out 6 years later due to lack of funds. Folke, rather than disappoint his parents, stayed in town and tried to hold a job. He failed every attempt. Due to this, Folke used his powers for his last chance at obtaining a living: thievery. He became a well known thief, though not on sight. The public knew him as “The Shroud” as he would use the power of smoke to create a shroud to escape capture. At the age of 30, Folke began to converse with other thieves. Together, they created a faction: The Whispering Shadows. After this, Folke dropped his last name and cut all ties to his family to protect them. After this, when people in the faction asked his name, he told them he was “Folke, Son of None.”

The information could include battle plans, moral, or even location of the leader. They have only told a handful of politicians how to contact them.
If you don’t like the idea, I’ll trash it and make a different character

Character Name: Klytia Megalostrata
Appearance:(Image)
House (what family does your character belong to?): Clan Megalostrata
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Mage Type (Esoteric, Archmage, Inquisitor?): Inquisitor
Magic/Abilities (if any): Nullification, with Water magic manipulation capabilities, salt water specialization.
Limitations (what are the restrictions on your character’s abilities?): Null Magic requires the user to either get into physical striking distance to transfer energy or perform a sustained incantation for ranged use. Klytia must have a supply of water as she can not draw it from the air or from other diluted sources, and while she can use fresh water she is much more powerful in a salt water environment. A lightening user has an obvious advantage against her as well if shes using water.
Faction (does your character belong to a faction? Where does your character’s loyalties lie?): Neutral, Contract Mage currently working for the Esquoria government.
Biography:
Klytia Megalostrata hails from the Adriat Islands, a series of land masses off the coast of mainland Cagia known for their water based specializing magic users, maritime expertise, and the occasional piracy. The Megalostrata are are a large, wealthy, and powerful clan with ties to both legitimate and illegitimate business ventures, their influence reaching well into mainland Cagia. The Clan is in fact large enough to have established various sub-clans underneath the main branch of the family to which Klytia belongs.
Klytia's early life was spent upon the open oceans of the world with the Megalostrata Merchant Fleet, learning the traditional trade of the clan under the tutelage of her parents and other family members. This netted her a wealth of worldly experience from a very young age in both maritime skills and knowledge from most every major port in Cagia and beyond. It also did not take long for her natural affinity for Nullification magic to make itself known either, something that always called for a celebratory event within the family. It was during this time that the her training in the basics of magic and her elemental affinity began under the guidance of members of the clan and her parents. As it is tradition in the Megalostrata for ones fledgling experiences in both life and magic to begin within the strict regime of the clan, whether the child is destined to be a great leader or a lowly deckhand it is always assured that their roots are firmly placed within the family. This was no different for Klytia, and when she was deemed ready and capable was enrolled into the Adriat Academy of Magic, followed a few years later with an acceptance into the Dacryn School of Military and Magical Arts.
Due to their upbringing most Megalostrata children with magical affinity start their lives in the Academies somewhat later in life then most other children, most thinking them at a disadvantage. To the contrary, the Megalostrata Clan has become quite adept at raising their children for further success in the magical fields through their own early teachings. With most entering the academies confident in their abilities and chomping at the bit to further improve them in a new and alien environment. Klytia was a text book example of this, her natural strength with water elemental magic and the continued private tutelage of her Nullification magic propelling her through her academic years.
Like many of her kin though Klytia was a mischief maker at heart, and only furthered the families reputation on the mainland, among less learned and snotty circles, as common pirate filth. She has somewhat mellowed with age but still retains a mischievous glint in her eye, even in the face of the most humorless of people. While her ultimate loyalty will always lay with the Megalostrata Clan, she currently holds no personal brand of loyalty to any of the mainland factions beyond what the contract of her current employment demands.
Additional Information (anything else you want to say?): The Megalostrata Clan has trained Klytia extensively in in hand to hand and melee combat, which was only further enhanced during her time at the Dacryn School of Military and Magical Arts. Such skills are key factors in the effectiveness of nullification magic since it works best when up close and personal.
*Note*: If anything needs more in depth explaining let me know, I'll also make a house app later.
