Devil’s Whisper

Premise

Civil war is brewing over the land of Cagia. The House of Allegrod, the royal family that ruled over Cagia for a half a millennium, was recently deposed in a coup d'etat by their rivals: The Esquoria Family. Luther Esquoria, the head of the House of Esquoria and now the Archmage of the Empire, has created the Shadow Assassins: A group of mages with extremely rare but powerful magic (known as Esoteric Mages). One of these Esoteric Mages is Jasmine Taulra, a mage with an ability known as Devil's Whisper, which allows her to enter the mind of anyone she chooses. Using Jasmine as an "adviser" for the state, Luther Esquoria was able to seize power relatively peacefully and prevented any major uprisings. But Julian Sayuga has created the Sidiroú in order to counter the Esquorias. He is planning on deposing the new government and taking power himself.

Now, a couple of months after the coup, the new Red Dawn Army has been created to stamp out any opposition. The Shadow Assassins act as a secret police, assassinating any major threats. The journey is now yours. Will you faithfully serve the Esquoria Family as a mage? Will you be the one leading the counter revolution? Or will you attempt to seize power yourself?

Lore
Cagia was once a land that was separated into hundreds of separate kingdoms and tribes. The early history of Cagia was defined by constant wars and disputes among the kingdoms. But one nation, the Iuashani Kingdom, was able to unite the tribes after decades of war. Dyfores Allegrodo, a poor farmer from the southern Iuashani Kingdom, quickly rose through the ranks of the political realm due to his mastery of the Esoteric Art of Lightning, an ability that was believed only the gods possessed. Two other mages, Baesu Sayuga and Yucella Esquoria, allied with Dyfores Allegrodo. Baesu and Yucella were Water and Earth mages respectively.

After the Unification Wars, the Iuashani Kingdom was transformed into the Cagian Commonwealth, with Dyfores Allegrodo, Baesu Sayuga, and Yucella Esquoria ruling over the Commonwealth in a triumvirate known as the Three Elites. They jointly ruled the Commonwealth until their deaths, where their descendants would carry on the tradition. Over the years, the three houses began to drift and grew resentment towards one another. Despite being allies, the Allegrodo and Esquoria never got along as as the centuries passed, and ultimately, the Esquoria was kicked out the government and the Three Elites. However, on the night of May 25, 525 ATU (525 years after the unification of Cagia, and the year the RP takes place), the Esqouria Family, headed by Luther Esquoria, had initiated a coup d’etat and removed the House of Allegrod Archmage from power, thus bring the Esqouria Family back into the government. The House of Allegrod had two legitimate heirs: Ezekiel Allegrodo, and his twin sister, Annora Allegrodo. Both disappeared without a trace and hasn’t been heard from since, so they’ve been presumed dead.

The Cagian Commonwealth is the name of the empire ruling over the continent of Cagia. The Commonwealth is ruled by Luther Esquoria with an iron fist. Cagia has hundreds of forests and mountain regions in the West and North, while the South is the Desert Region, and the East are the Far Plains.

List of Major Cities:

Kalingway: The capital of the Commonwealth and the largest city with a population exceeding 4 million, Kalingway is by far the most important and prestigious city in the Commonwealth. The city is the home to the Esquoria Family and the National Academy of Magical Arts, the most prestigious magical academy in the Commonwealth. Kalingway is located in the Far Plains.

Dacryn: The second largest city with a population of 2.5 million, Dacryn is the home to the Sayuga Family and is located in the West's Forest Regions. Dacryn is a large trading center due in part to the Sayuga Family’s influence over the city. The city is also known for its magical academy: The Dacryn School of Military and Magical Arts, which is the second largest academy of magic in the Commonwealth.

Aesyerus: The third largest city with a population of 2 million, Aesyerus was the home to the House of Allegrod until they moved to Kalingway. The city is located in the Desert Regions of the South. Aesyerus is one of the most beautiful and elegant cities in the entire Commonwealth. The Aesyerus Mage Academy is located here as well.

Eravil: Eravil is a city in the northern forest regions. Surrounded by mountains, it is located in the Valley of the Ancients, and is the home to the Scrolls of Eternity: A list of magical spells and conjurations. The Eravil Academy of Magic is also located here.

Magic
There are four types of magic: Elemental, Common, Esoteric, and Sensory

Elemental Magic: Elemental Magic is magic that relates to the elements, usually the Four Common Elements: Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water. Control over the elements requires intense training, so most children by the age of 5 have already been entered into Academies of Magic to find their elemental affinity (usually based off their parents). The source of Elemental Magic is from the Four Gods: Vultus Ediniem (God of Earth), Occidere (God of Fire), Aeternum (Goddess of Wind), and Hyaluscus (Goddess of Water). Users of Elemental Magic are called Elementals. Each element has subcategories: Fire has Lightning Magic, Water has Ice Magic, Earth has Sand Magic, and Wind has Smoke Magic (although this can also be classified as Fire Magic).

Common Magic: Common Magic is magic that can be easily taught and learned. Common Magic involves spells used in the Scrolls of Eternity, some examples being sealing magic, shield magic, and healing magic. Common Magic is the most basic form of magic. The Scrolls of Eternity lists most forms of known magic, but notably excludes Esoteric Magic

Esoteric Magic: Esoteric Magic is magic that falls beyond the scope of Elemental Magic and is far more advanced than Common magic. Esoteric Magic is the rarest and most powerful type of magic. Mages with Esoteric Magic are often born with these abilities. Esoterics are unique in the fact that only they have the ability to use that specific ability. The Esoteric Arts cannot be replicated and are only able to be used by the mage with that ability.

Sensory Magic: Sensory magic is magic that allows the user to detect the presence of others, which can range from a few meters to several kilometers. Mages with this ability are called Sensors. Sensory Magic improves the Sensor's perception, giving them 20/20 vision and allowing them see what is in the area. Some Sensors can even pick apart mages based on their magical aura alone, allowing them to see who has magical powers, how much magic they have and how much magic they've used.

Types of Mages

Mage: A regular Mage is a magic user who has graduated from their respective Academy/School of Magic. They are officially recognized by the Commonwealth as a practitioner of magic. Mages generally graduate between the ages of 16-18.

Inquisitor: An Inquisitor is a Mage who has graduated from an Academy/School of Magic and specializes in a type(s) of Element. Inquisitors are a more powerful version of a Mage and often go on special missions for the Commonwealth. Inquisitors are most skilled in one or two types of Elements. Those with three or four elements are generally considered Archmages. Inquisitors stay at their Academy of Magic for a few years more than a Mage, and graduate between 21-25.

Archmage: An Archmage is a mage of the highest caliber. These type of mages often spend years perfecting their magic and are exceptionally powerful. A common characteristic of an Archmage is that they are proficient in all Four Common Elements (a very rare thing to accomplish) and are usually a politician or the Emperor. Archmages are exceptionally skilled mages, being revered by their peers. They also can be generals in the army or admirals in the navy

Sensor: A Sensor is a mage with the ability to detect the presence of others. Sensory Mages are born with their abilities and are often most gifted in stealth missions. Sensors can detect their targets from a great distance and can even tell people apart based on their magical aura alone.

Esoteric: An Esoteric Mage is a mage who is a practitioner of the Esoteric Arts. Esoterics have the most powerful and the most unique forms of magic. They are born with their abilities and are often scattered around the Commonwealth. The general public is unaware of Esoteric Mages due to their secretive nature and the fact that they are so rare.

Families/Houses

Esquoria Family: The Esquoria Family are the current ruling family of the Cagian Commonwealth. They are a family of elite Earth and Wind Mages. The family is split into two branches: the Main House and the Peripheral Branch. Only members of the Main House are ever able to become the head of the family, and the Peripheral Branch's job is always to protect the Main House. Luther Esquoria is the current head of the Esquoria.

Sayuga House: The Sayuga Family are a family of elite Water and Ice Mages. The Sayuga are a family of merchants, and because of their trading, they're the wealthiest family in the Commonwealth. The Sayuga also secretly operate the anti-government Sidiroú faction

House of Allegrod: The House of Allegrod was the ruling family of the Commonwealth for half a millenium. The family produced extraordinarily powerful Fire Mages who also have been known to master the Elemental Art of Lightning. The House also has a technique known as the Dance of the Phoenix, which is a powerful fire magic martial arts style that completely overwhelms the opponent. The House of Allegrod was the most influential royal court in the entire commonwealth for centuries. However all known members were killed on the May 25 coup that resulted in the Esquoria gaining power.

Factions

Factions are groups of Mages (or Commoners; those without magic) and are often present with a specific goal in mind.

Red Dawn Army: The Red Dawn is the official name of the army of the Commonwealth. The Red Dawn was formed after the Esqouria Family coup d’etat in order to protect the new government from a counter coup. They also oppress the general populace. The army is headed by Luther Esquoria since he’s the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

The Shadow Assassins: The Shadow Assassins are the secret police of the Commonwealth. The Shadow Assassins are a small group of Esoteric Mages headed by Adelina Larot, whose goal is to stamp out any opposition to the Commonwealth and assassinate political opponents. The Shadow Assassins were created by Adelina Larot, a poor farmer from the Salyan region of the Commonwealth. She was captured by the Archmage Raberud, a close adviser to Luther Esquoria. Raberud is an Esoteric himself, and is able to sense the abilities of others. Using that, he sensed that Adelina Larot was an Esoteric, and went around the country collecting Esoteric mages to form the Shadow Assassins.

The Sidiroú:: The Sidiroú are the anti government faction that was formed in the aftermath of the Esquoria Family coup d’etat. They are secretly headed by the Sayuga Family. Their motto is “Σπάστε τις αλυσίδες” (Break the Chains). Julian Sayuga is the official head of the House.

NS Name: Asardia
Character Name: Jasmine Taulra
Appearance:
Image

House (what family does your character belong to?): The Taulra House, a family of elite Wind Mages
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Magic/Abilities (if any):

Devil's Whisper: Jasmine has a mind control technique known as Devil' Whisper, which allows her to enter the mind of anyone she chooses, and manipulate them. The technique is considered an Esoteric ability, and she is closely guarded by the Red Dawn. Strangely enough, Jasmine possesses no Wind Magic despite being a member of the Taulra family. She can still use Common Magic, but no Elemental Magic. Jasmine is also very skilled in martial arts, being touted as the best martial artist in the Shadow Assassins.

Illusions: Jasmine is also able to cast powerful illusions on anyone she targets. These illusions can even kill her opponent if they're strong enough.

Sensor: Jasmine is able to detect magic users around her in a range of 100 meters around. Using this, she is able to sense the magical powers of others, whether or not they're concealing their powers, and know how they're feeling.

Limitations (what are the restrictions on your character’s abilities?): Devil's Whisper: The power's key drawback is that it must be spoken. Devil's Whisper is a technique that must be verbally spoken in order for the spell to be cast. The second limitation is awareness: If anyone is aware of Jasmine's Devil's Whisper ability, it is rendered useless. The spell can also be broken as a result of a strong will. Finally, using Devil's Whisper requires an intense amount of magical power, which can tire out Jasmine.

Illusions: Jasmine's illusions can be broken by anyone with a strong enough will. Her illusions also tire her and requires intense concentration

Mage Type (Esoteric, Archmage, Inquisitor?): Esoteric and Sensor
Faction (does your character belong to a faction? Where does your character’s loyalties lie?): Shadow Assassins and the Red Dawn
Biography: Jasmine was born in the city of Kalingway to the prestigious Taulra House, a family of elite Wind Mages. She lived a relatively easy and comfortable life with her wealthy parents. She traveled around the Commonwealth as a child and was close with the Sayuga family. She would regularly visit Julian Sayuga and the two would develop a great friendship. Jasmine loved traveling towards Dacryn and as an adult would reminisce about those times. Jasmine even at a young age never displayed much skill in magic. But she still enrolled into the National Academy of Magical Arts. However, Jasmine quickly learned that despite having two Wind Elementals as parents, she had no Elemental Magic of her own. This nearly caused her to drop out of the academy, but the rest of her family convinced her to stay. Jasmine decided that since she had no skills in elemental magic, she could become skilled in martial arts. So she worked every day in fighting and sparred with friends and became one of the top martial artists in her class. At the age of 17, Jasmine became friends with the Archmage Raberud Giton, a member of the Land of Snakes, and the two became close. Jasmine also met Luther Esquoria around this time, and he became very interested in her. Archmage Raberud approached Jasmine and told her that although she possessed no elemental magic, she had magical power that far exceeded the rest of the students in the academy. Jasmine also met Adelina Larot, a mage from a poor family who moved to Kalingway. It didn't take long for Jasmine to realize her true power: Illusions. When Jasmine was 18, she was walking home from the academy and was being stalked by multiple male students. The students then cornered Jasmine and attempted to assault her, but she used her magic to cast an illusion so powerful all of them were killed. In a state of shock, Jasmine was unsure of what to do and stayed there, where the Cagian police found her and began to question her. Soon, Luther Esquoria and Archmage Raberud showed up offering to free her. Over the next few years, the two archmages would grow close to Jasmine, and they learned of her other power: Devil's Whisper. Jasmine was able to command anyone she chose just by uttering a few words, which Luther and Raberud thought would be very useful for the plans for the coup against the Allegrod dynasty. Jasmine at first refused to help, but after Raberud threatened to kill her entire family, Jasmine reluctantly accepted. On the night of May 25, 525 ATU, the coup occurred, wiping out most members of the House of Allegrod. Adelina Larot formed the Shadow Assassins, a secret police for the new Esquoria government comprised entirely of Esoterics. Jasmine would be the first Esoteric in the Shadow Assassins, and would be one of the strongest.

Additional Information (anything else you want to say?): I'll make sure to use Jasmine sparingly in order to allow for other players to decide their own fates

NS Name: Asardia
Character Name: Adelina Larot
Appearance:
Image

House (what family does your character belong to?): Larot family
Gender: Female
Age: 32
Magic/Abilities (if any):

Wind, Earth, and Fire Manipulation: Adelina inherited the affinity for Earth Magic from her parents, and after attending the Aesyerus Mage Academy, was able to master Earth and Fire Magic. Being an Inquisitor, Adelina specializes in Fire and Earth magic. She mastered the House of Allegrod's secret technique: The Dance of the Phoenix. The Dance of the Phoenix is a Fire Magic technique that was designed in order to completely overwhelm your opponent with barrages of Fire. Adelina also has training in martial arts, although it isn't near the level of Jasmine's combat training

Explosive Fire Manipulation: Using her fire magic, Adelina is able to cause explosions big enough to destroy a house. The fire can turn anything it touches into a bomb and can explode at Adelina's will.

Limitations (what are the restrictions on your character’s abilities?): Adelina can only use one element at a time, and despite mastering three of them, she has pretty low stamina, so she tires out fairly quickly. Adelina relies on quick strikes that takes out her opponent in a short amount of time. Adelina's Explosive Fire technique is incredibly dangerous and unpredictable. She has to be a few hundred meters away in order to be considered safe against it. Also, if the fire is put out in time, then the explosion won't occur.

Mage Type (Esoteric, Archmage, Inquisitor?) Inquisitor

Faction (does your character belong to a faction? Where does your character’s loyalties lie?): Leader of the Shadow Assassins

Biography: Adelina was born to poor farmers in the desert regions in the south of the Commonwealth. Adelina lived a very rough childhood as there were little food and water and she had to fight daily to survive. Despite her parent's lack of resources, Adelina was still able to attend the Aesyerus Mage Academy and mastered Earth Magic by the age of 10. The school quickly recognized her as a prodigy, and allowed her to pursue other Elemental Magic classes. By the age of 15, Adelina was proficient in Wind Magic, and by 21, she was able to switch between Earth, Wind, and Fire magic easily, though she specializes in Earth and Fire Magic. After graduating from the Mage Academy at 21, Adelina joined the armed forces and became a soldier, where she met Luther Esquoria, an officer in the army. He approached her with Archmage Raberud, and asked her to assist them in the coup against the House of Allegrod. Feeling bitter as a result of her tough childhood, Adelina accepted, and they found Jasmine Taulra, an Esoteric with the ability to manipulate people's minds. Using Jasmine to their advantage, Adelina, Raberud, Luther Esquoria was able to successfully depose the House of Allegrod. After the coup, the four formed the Shadow Assassins, with Adelina being the leader.
Additional Information (anything else you want to say?):

House (what family does your character belong to?): Esquoria
Gender: Male
Age: 40
Magic/Abilities (if any): Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire Manipulation: Being an Archmage, Luther Esquoria is proficient in all four types of Common Elemental Magic. He is able to switch between the elements easily and can over power his opponents by sheer strength.
Limitations (what are the restrictions on your character’s abilities?): Luther Esquoria, despite being physically strong, is not a good martial artist. He relies heavily on his magic, specifically Earth and Wind in order to attack
Mage Type (Esoteric, Archmage, Inquisitor?) Archmage
Faction (does your character belong to a faction? Where does your character’s loyalties lie?): Esquoria and the Red Dawn Army
Biography: Luther Esquoria was born in the House of Esquoria, one of the original Three Elites. He inherited his family's prowess with Earth and Wind Magic and was quickly able to graduate from National Academy of Magical Arts in Kalingway by age 18. He learned Water and Fire Magic as a result of intensive training and joining the army. After 20 years, he became a general and soon became an Archmage by age 38. However, Luther had regular disputes with the House of Allegrod and was kicked out of the army. Feeling bitter over his family's lack of influence in the government and the perceived discrimination against him, Luther plotted with Adelina Larot and Archmage Raberud to overthrow the House of Allegrod. The coup was a success, and Luther became the Archmage of the Empire, the equivalent of the former emperor. Luther formed the Shadow Assasins and the Red Dawn in order to prevent any counter revolutions. Jasmine Taulra is Luther's main "adviser", along with Archmage Raberud.
Additional Information (anything else you want to say?): Luther Esquoria is the main antagonist in this RP

NS Name: Asardia
Character Name: Archmage Raberud Giton "Lord of the Snakes"
Appearance:
Image

House (what family does your character belong to?): House Giton
Gender: Male
Age: 52
Personality: Raberud Giton is a very fanatical supporter of Luther Esquoria and the Red Dawn. He will do anything in his power to please the emperor and often does Luther's dirty work for him. Raberud as a youth loved to fight and often got into trouble due to his aggressive nature. His aggressiveness has calmed down as he aged, causing him to become more observant of the world around him. He's very intelligent and often learns his opponents moves based off a few attacks.
Mage Type (Mage, Sensor, Esoteric, Archmage, Inquisitor?): Archmage and Esoteric

Magic/Abilities (if any):

All Common Element Manipulation: Archmage Raberud is proficient in the elements of Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind (though he prefers Fire and Wind Magic). Raberud is able to use two elements at once, which allows him a huge advantage over his opponents. He knows hundreds of techniques and ways to wield his magic. Raberud is skilled enough to be able to beat most mages with his Fire and Wind Magic alone. The combination of Fire and Wind magic lets Raberud create smoke. And using Wind Magic, Raberud is able to assassinate most people by depriving them of oxygen. He can manipulate any form of gas as well.

Snake Charmer: Just like the rest of House Giton, Raberud is able to control snakes and even see the world through their eyes. He uses them during stealth
missions and is able to summon snakes at well. Raberud, due to his prowess with Snake Charming Magic, has several snake-like traits, including heightened sense of touch and is able to use snake senses at his will.

Sensory Magic: Archmage Raberud is a Sensor, and is able to detect the presence of others whenever they enter the 200 meter radius around him. He is also able to sense Esoterics, since their magical aura is much different than most mages.

Limitations (what are the restrictions on your character’s abilities?): Archmage Raberud is getting old. He's not a good martial artist and relies heavily on his magic in battles, being unable to fend for himself if it weren't for his magical prowess. His Animal Manipulation is limited only to snakes.

Faction (does your character belong to a faction? Where does your character’s loyalties lie?): Shadow Assassins
Biography: Raberud hails from House Gaiton, a House of Snake Charmers whose territory lies resides in the town of Lamewake, not too far west of Kalingway. He was born to parents who were very skilled in the elements, and they passed their knowledge to him. Raberud by age 8 enrolled into the National Academy of Magical Arts in Kalingway, where he excelled in academics and mastery over the elements. Raberud lived a very elegant life due to his family's wealth and was a womanizer since his teens. Raberud flew in and out of relationships, although he never let this get in the way of his studying. By the time the future Archmage was 18, he was already proficient in Fire and Wind Magic, and would spend decades learning how to master Earth and Water. It was also around this time that Raberud was drafted into the army, where he served for 20 years. Raberud would become distant with the House of Allegrod however, viewing them as a selfish house who didn't care too much for their people. Raberud became close with the House of Esquoria's leader, Luther, and the two would form a close friendship that would last for years. It was also around this time that Raberud learned of a special type of mage, known as an Esoteric. These mages possessed unusually powerful magic but were extremely rare and hard to find. Soon enough, Raberud learned that he was able to sense Esoteric mages, and happened to find an Esoteric in the prestigious House Taulra. Raberud was appointed in archmage at age 48, and using his newly gained status, became close to the Taulra House in order to lure Jasmine to the Esquorias. Raberud would also become a key friend of Jasmine, and ultimately compelled her to become the emperor's puppet just before the coup, by threatening to kill the Taulra family if she didn't comply. Raberud also learned about Adelina Larot, who was close friends with the emperor. The four were vital in the coup that wiped out the Allegrodo House, and soon after formed the Shadow Assassins, where Raberud would continue to find Esoterics and used Jasmine's power to force them to join.

I love both of those shows. I even copied took inspiration from Naruto with the Devil's Whisper technique. It's based off Kotoamatsukami

NS Name: Terranihil or just Terra
Character Name: Artheus Ladon
Appearance:
Image

House (what family does your character belong to?): Ladon
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Magic/Abilities (if any): Plant manipulation- Artheus can manipulate plant life of all forms including trees, flowers, vines, roots, etc. This allows him the abilities to project thorns, branches, and bark; subdue and strangle with vines; cause plants to grow and blossom faster; and release toxins from poisonous plants.

Limitations (what are the restrictions on your character’s abilities?): Artheus can only manipulate plants within 100 meters. The power is also very weak against fire inquisitors.

Mage Type (Esoteric, Archmage, Inquisitor?) Esoteric
Faction (does your character belong to a faction? Where does your character’s loyalties lie?): Shadow Assassins

Biography: Artheus was born in Dacryn into the Ladon family, a minor house of water mages that mostly operates under the Sayugas. Both of his parents, Elwin and Viola Ladon, were water inquisitors who served under the Sayugas. His father passed away a few years ago, and his mother continues to live in Dacryn but doesn't involve herself in the Sidiroú or the Sayuga anymore. Artheus's sister, Celia, is also a water inquisitor like her parents.

Artheus learned that he could manipulate plants from a very young age. He and Celia practiced magic together under the instruction of their parents. Then Celia was admitted into the Dacryn School of Military and Magical Arts, and Artheus did the same a few years later. At the school, he mastered his abilities and learned close combat fighting. Word of Artheus's special abilities spread throughout Dacryn and beyond, and the Sayugas recognized his potential to become a strong mage. The Sidiroú promised Artheus and his older sister a position in the Sidiroú because of their magical powers.

But before he could graduate from the school, Artheus was attacked. Three cloaked mages, seemingly specialized in defeating him, attacked him while in a forest near Dacryn. Artheus thought he would have the upper hand since he was surrounded by his element, but the mages were proficient fire users and swordsman. They managed to burn down or cut away any attacks he sent their way. They restrained him and took him to Kalingway.

Artheus was held prisoner by the Emperor and Adelina Larot, who offered him a position in the Shadow Assassins. He refused to betray his people, so they brought in Jasmine Taulra to convince him. She used her illusionary powers to show Artheus the destruction of Dacryn, the Larots, and his sister. The illusions were used to convince him that joining the Shadow Assassins was the only choice he had. Jasmine also used Devil's Whisper to force Artheus into killing since Artheus refused to do so at the beginning. He eventually gave up on resisting, believing that he had already committed to many deeds to go back to his family. He accepted the Shadow Assassins as his new home. Artheus also began to enjoy the violence of the job. Being able to release the built up rage and resentment gave him satisfaction.
Additional Information (anything else you want to say?):

Although Artheus was resistant to joining the assassins, he eventually accepted his fate after much coercion and manipulation.
Additional Information (anything else you want to say?): I was thinking that maybe Jasmine Taulra could have had something to do with Artheus's coercion into joining the assassins because of her abilities.

Accepted. And I do like the idea of Jasmine manipulating Artheus into joining the Shadow Assassins. I approve

Btw, you should consider posting an advertisement for this RP on the advertisement thread. It’ll probably bring in a few more RPers. I could do it if you want?

NS Name: Terra
Family/House Name: Ladon
Insignia/Symbol (optional): A piranha with a dagger clenched between its teeth.
Motto (optional):
Faction Alignment: The Sidiroú
Elemental Affinity (what element does this family specialize in, if any?): Water with a focus on water temperature manipulation.
History: Before the Unification, the Ladon family was a river fishing tribe originating near the Ladon river that used its water manipulation abilities to control the flow of rivers and catch fish. The house was special because of its ability to control water temperature. The tribe was also well trained in the art of the sword.
When the Sayuga family rose to power as part of the Three Elites, the Ladon swore their fealty to the Sayuga and acted as bodyguards to the Sayuga nobles. After the alliance among the three strongest houses ended and the Sidiroú was formed, the Sayuga began recruiting powerful inquisitors from the Ladon. To this day, the Ladon continue to serve the Sayuga as bodyguards and assassins.
Additional Information: Most Ladons are water inquisitors who can control water temperature.

House (what family does your character belong to?): Ladon
Gender: Female
Age: 24
Magic/Abilities (if any): Water manipulation, as well as controlling the temperature of the water.
Limitations (what are the restrictions on your character’s abilities?): Celia can only manipulate water from the Ladon river.
Mage Type (Esoteric, Archmage, Inquisitor?) Inquisitor
Faction (does your character belong to a faction? Where does your character’s loyalties lie?): The Sidiroú

Biography: Celia was born in Dacryn annd attended the Dacryn School of Military and Magical Arts. She excelled in water manipulation, water temperature manipulation, and sword fighting. She graduated from the school and was recruited into the Sidiroú. Then her younger brother, Artheus, went missing. Her and a squad of Ladon went searching for him, but they had no success. On the rescue mission, Celia discovered her inability to control water that doesn't originate from the Ladon river. Her limitation almost prevented her from continuing as a member of the Sidiroú, but her skills were too valuable to lose. Celia was assigned a role as a secret bodyguard for high status Sayuga members. On occasion, she ventures out beyond her home on special missions, always making sure to keep an eye out for little Artheus.
Additional Information (anything else you want to say?): She carries a sword on her waist, and when she is out of the vicinity of the Ladon river, she carries a large tank of water with her.

House (what family does your character belong to?): Sayuga Family
Gender: Male
Age: 42
Mage Type (Esoteric, Archmage, Inquisitor?): Inquisitor
Magic/Abilities (if any): Water/Ice and Fire Manipulation. Master martial artist, tactician, and strategist
Limitations (what are the restrictions on your character’s abilities?): Julian, despite being able to use Fire Magic, is not proficient with it and cannot use it too often in a fight. He relies more on his physical strength to overwhelm opponents in hand to hand combat along with Ice Magic.
Faction (does your character belong to a faction? Where does your character’s loyalties lie?): The Sidiroú
Biography: Julian was born in the city of Dacryn in the House of Sayuga. From a young age, he displayed high levels of proficiency with the Sayuga Family's signature Ice Magic abilities. Julian as a teenager was also very mature for his age, being only concerned with studying magic and becoming an Inquisitor. He graduated from the Dacryn School of Military and Magical Arts at the age of 21. Julian's father died when he was 30, so he became the House leader. He presided over a relatively peaceful time until the coup that deposed the Allegrod dynasty. Fearing the Sayuga Family would be targeted next, Julian formed the Sidiroú, a faction whose goal is to over throw the Esquorias and end their reign. Julian also decided to make claims to the throne himself, igniting the civil war.
Additional Information (anything else you want to say?): Julian will serve as the main anti government character and will be the head of the Sidiroú. I'm planning for him to be the main guy in the civil war

NS Name:
Family/House Name: Jessant
Insignia/Symbol (optional): Three silver spears on a blue field
Motto (optional:
Faction Alignment: The Shadow Assassins
Elemental Affinity: Earth
History: The Jessants are a very old family, predating the Iuashani unification by centuries. Native to the northern forests, the Jessants trace their origins to the mages of Clan Bloodthorn, who competed with the other northern clans and tribes for dominance over the forests. The Bloodthorn mage-kings used a particularly brutal tactic of forming stone spikes and flechettes out of the earth, then firing them at their enemies to impale them.

When the Three Elites turned their attention to the north, the Bloodthorns knelt in awe of their magical prowess and swore to serve them. They aligned themselves with the conquerors and resultantly received much wealth and land in the north when the Commonwealth was formed. Seeking to win approval and influence in the southern courts, the Bloodthorn aristocracy reinvented themselves as a more "civilized" family, taking the name "Jessant" and adopting southern religion and dress. The Jessants have always had close marital ties with the Esquorias due to their shared affinity for the Earth element, and thus they loyally support Luther Esquoria's regime.
Additional Information:

BTW can I reserve a spot in the Shadow Assassins for my character, Paul Jessant?
