​Alfred Herbert Page has announced his intention to resign as Prime Minister of the Nationalist Gold Union early this morning. Page said he will be formally handing his resignation in after the Christian Right chooses a new leader, who will succeed Page as the Prime Minister.

The resignation is amid Page's government's failure to address the economic depression of the Nationalist Gold Union as well as criticism for Page's weakness on several key foreign policy issues.

The Christian Right party will choose a new General Secretary by the end of the month, and by then, Prime Minister Page will formally resign his office and the Leader Paul Philip IV will ask the new General Secretary to form a government.

"It has been an honor of my life to serve the Nationalist Gold Union," Page said in a speech outside his office in Caspia, "and whoever succeeds me, I'm sure, will be a steadfast and hard-working head of government."

Two candidates for Christian Right General Secretary election have already made their intention to run public: John Paquin (Deputy PM and Foreign Minister) and Seward Kendal von Grimmelshausen (Defense Minister).

Page's term comes to an end about two years after he took the office.

Erleuchtungsausschuss 01/8/2021 Establishment of "Jugendgemeinschaft" In an effort to collectivize the culture of our nation and help disaffected children and teenagers in our proletarian state, First-Premier Strasser has approved the establishment of a national youth organization. The Jugendgemeinschaft (Youth Community) will be managed and directed by the Erleuchtungsausschuss (Committee for Public Enlightenment). Children ages 6 to 18 will be allowed to partake. The younger children will be given additional educational opportunities, the ability to play sports, and a safe social setting. Children ages 13 and up will be offered basic job training in a field of their choosing, basic military/survival skills (these activities will be managed in conjunction with the VSA), leisure activities, field trips, and sports. Prisalia becomes puppet of NGU as Union admiral appointed PM of Prisalia

​After the 3rd Fleet of the Union Navy ported unwarranted in the docks of Lisbon, Prisalia, the King of Prisalia was pressured to cede to Nationalist Gold Union the position of Prime Minister. Admiral Garfield Stack of the 3rd Fleet was given the position after an agreement was found.

Brief fire between NGU and Prisalian forces led to Prisalia giving control of the government to the admiral, a move that shocked many in the population.

Admiral Stack promises to "reform the Prisalian army and government and end the chaos plaguing the country once and for all."

Following the appointment, mass protests broke out in Lisbon and Madrid as a response to what many are calling a "foreign occupation."

Shortly after, Stack asked the King to dissolve the parliament, without any intention of holding elections.

The Hannoverian Workers' Weekly Paper, January 20th, 2021 Railway Work Begins in Bremen The railway expansion plan, organized by the Industrieusschuss, is being fast-tracked and railway workers and engineers are amassing in Bremen for preparation. The government tasked the Deutscher-Bahn (a railway management firm and labor union) with providing the necessary workers, and the Industrieausschuss is supposed to provide management and funding. So far, over 21,000 workers have taken up temporary stay in Bremen and the surrounding cities. The government is helping to subsidize temporary housing costs. The government's goal is to be able to move 30 million tones of freight (daily) to the rest of Europe; however, the government's ambition has drawn criticism from Willie Berg, head of the Deutscher-Bahn group. Mr. Berg signaled his hesitance to meet the projects size and labor demands upon receiving the notice from the government, The goal is admirable, but I'm doubtful that it can be completed in under 8 months. I'm not certain I can provide the labor need either, the needs are simply to great. Mr. Berg negotiated with the Industrieausschuss last year, when the government attempted to nationalize the union. The agreement made between D-B and the government says that the union must assist in government projects, but can remain under local leadership. Chairman Beomann now says he may consider revoking that agreement. Despite the politics of the project's management, workers doing the initial construction on Bremen's railways are in high-spirits. Many workers are happy to have the consistent work for the next several months. According to foreman Adal Nordika, The boys are damned happy, the last few years have been hard for everyone. The recession started under the monarchy and all of us became supporters of the revolution, but the fighting that followed was hard for everyone. Spendings Update

Erone has passed a motion to reroute spendings from R&D, and a portion of military spendings (About one fourth) to stabilizing the economy. This stabilization will consist of giving out long-term loans to powerhouse companies in need, building and repairing infrastructure, and correcting extremely inflated or deflated prices on necessities. This action will take place within the next months, and once the economy has recovered the budget will be reworked to prevent any further crashes. A portion of this money will also be going towards hastening the construction of the "Black Sea Railway" (Note: Extends past the Black Sea, new name is advised.) to help boost the economy and counteract the fall.

• Secretary of State Tuntun Singh on tour - Singh's spokesperson, Obalesh Udai, announced Friday that he will be travelling across central Panjal on a speech and concert tour. The plan is to perform in rural cities, Udai said, but Singh may add other cities to the route if he "feels like it."

BREAKING - ​​​​John Paquin becomes Prime Minister

​Following his election as General Secretary of the Christian Right by the party's Central Committee two days ago, John Paquin has become the next Prime Minister of the Nationalist Gold Union.

Alfred Herbert Page, who announced his intention to resign last month, submitted his resignation to Paul Philip IV this morning. Shortly after, the Leader asked Paquin, the new General Secretary of the Christian Right, to form a government as soon as possible.

Paquin previously served the office of Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister of Foreign Affairs. The new Paquin cabinet will carry over much of the second Page cabinet, with a few reshuffles.

John Paquin outlined his goals to "streamline the economy and bring us out of the pain that has been imposed upon us." Paquin also stated his desire to "make the Nationalist Gold Union be a respected world leader once more."

John Paquin, born Jean-Frédéric Paquin, is the first Prime Minister of the Nationalist Gold Union of French descent. His parents came from an obscure and poor background, but Paquin has a political career stretching over twenty years. Paquin is also the youngest Prime Minister to take office at 43 years old.

Investor confidence hits all time low - 03/09/2021



Stocks plummeted fastest last Thursday


Civil unrest and protests throughout Panjal has caused both large and small investors to begin selling off Panjali assets, which has led to a 8.6% drop on the Panjali Industrial Average (PIA.) Foreign investment initiatives created by the Kapadia administration have proven to be ineffective, as foreign investment has seen no long-term increase, and is now on the decline once more. Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and other popular tourist destination cities have seen a sharp drop in tourism due to the ongoing protests. Travel restrictions have been placed upon Panjal by multiple countries including Ultimida, whose population makes up a large percentage of Panjali tourism.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised Ubizytotskan and Latvichkans to consider delaying their travel plans to Panjal, and reports say the Ministry is already considering closing the open borders agreement with Ubizytotska and Latvichka which were created as part of the AEA. Premier Kapadia assured reporters during a press conference today that this was a temporary problem, and solutions were already in the works.

Unemployment continues to rise in cities - 03/09/2021



Thousands gather to protest Mumbai


With the market plummeting last week, dozens of large manufacturing and service businesses have begun laying off employees. Urban business centers have started to become abandoned by businesses over the past week, instead becoming populated with muslim protesters and now homeless citizens. The most extreme case of this is in Mumbai, where unemployment has dropped a staggering 12% in a matter of days.

Rural towns and agricultural communities remain largely unaffected by the sudden economic downturn, still continuing to thrive off of the newly created agricultural infrastructure in many areas of Panjal. This may not last forever, though-- with the market beginning to fail, food prices are bound to become too expensive for unemployed Panjalis to afford. Agricultural exports into Ubizytotska have already seen a spike, with Panjali farmers in the northwest finding the extra travel distance to be profitable in the long run.

Erone, things have not been going well. My job has become more and more hell as situations advance. Anyway here is the current happenings. This whole peace promise is not going to work out. Best thing to do will be build up Crimea or seek outside help from economically better off nations such and [REDACTED]. Bojidar is still causing issues. No matter what we do, it seems nothing is stopping him. I advise embracing him and using him to our advantage. Crime is an issue. Instead of increasing police presence, it would be best to take some counteractive measures. Smear campaigns, ethical examples such as giving a criminal a few life sentences, or just better equipping our men and making them more intimidating. Keep this off record but, stage a few crimes and have police swiftly respond with great force, stifling any ideas. War will be coming sooner rather than later. Prepare wisely. Popular Liberal Democratic Party wins New England election

​Following the scheduled election for new members of the New England commonwealth parliament today, the Popular Liberal Democratic Party won the most votes at 36%.

The PLDP was formed a year ago by business magnate Ralph Schultes with the intention of liberalizing the economy and social life. The party is popular among young English-speaking people on the east and west coast, and the New England election was the party's first major victory.

In second place was Confederation with 33% of the vote. The Progressive Republicans and Christian Right won 17% and 6% of the vote respectively.

Confederation, regionally led by Abraham Smith (who is also currently Premier), has offered to join the Popular Liberal Democrats in a coalition government, allowing for an absolute majority control of the commonwealth's government. Lucas Spencer, leader of the New England branch of the PLDP, is set to form a government and become Premier of New England.

New England provided considerable support to the Christian Right in the 2020 election. Today, only a small minority of the commonwealth voted in favor of the federally ruling party. The implications that this election will have on the 2021 Inter-Commonwealth Summit, other commonwealth elections, and the 2024 general election are yet to be seen.

However, the hard steer to the political center in a traditionally wishy-washy New England is significant and reflective of the political changes in the country.

PM Paquin calls for international summit in NGU

​John Paquin, Prime Minister of the Nationalist Gold Union, called for an international summit to be held in the city of Portland. This follows the failed summit in Prussiaholm earlier in the year.

Paquin announced the planned Portland Summit today among rising global tensions and tearing of international relations. The Prime Minister said that he has personally invited the heads of government of every country in the world to attend the summit.

The summit is intended to take place later in the year, between the start of fall and the start of winter. Security at such an event is expected to be heavy, but Paquin reassured the invitees by telling them they "have no reason to feel unsafe."

"I hope that such an event will be attended by all of those who were invited," Paquin said in his statement. "Rebuilding the international markets and restoring global peace is of utmost priority to the preservation of our species."

The Hannoverian Workers' Weekly Paper, April 19, 2021 Willie Berg Replaced in DB Vote, Jugendgemeinschaft Succeeds Today, in a record vote by DB Union members, Willie Berg was kicked out of office. Berg, who frequently and ungraciously criticized the Industrieausschuss, fell out of favor with his voters during the beginning phase of the Bremen-Hamburg rail project. The project is now well underway regardless of Mr. Berg's attempts at obstruction. Mr. berg is being replaced by Otto Schussnig, a former foreman and veteran of the Hertzl Brigade. Chairman Schussnig will meet with Chairman Beomann in the following weeks to discuss the possibility of nationalization. Otto Schussnig The Erleuchtungsausschuss has released their first reports regarding membership in Jugendgemeinschaft programs. The report establishes that nearly 15% of all Noxtremian youth have been enrolled in the program. This is a major success for the committee, who hoped for a 9% enrollment within the first few months. The Erleuchtungsausschuss is hoping for a 20% enrollment by month of June. The VSA has taken as active interest and role in leading the group's teen program, with some educational officers using it as a recruitment ground. VSA trainers and fitness experts have taken a role in leading the physical education of the younger children. a nationwide demonstration will be staged by the Jugendgemeinschaft in July, following the completion of the Bremen-Hamburg railway.

Police unable to contain riots - 05/09/2021



Riots in Karachi were unpoliced


Nonstop protests continue to put strain on local and state police forces across Panjal, with two riots breaking out in the past week in Karachi and Kolkata, possibly due to a lack of police presence to keep the area safe. The military, refusing to take orders from the State following the attempted removal of current Secretary of Defense Bhubaneswar Magsaysay, has been completely absent from the protests as well. Magsaysay has kept his position of leadership over the military, and has made sure the military is not to be involved with the protests.

It is reported that eight have died between the two riots that have taken place, and at the current rate, the protests which cause the riots show no signs of stopping. The best prediction is that future riots will ensue unless better police supervision or military intervention is implemented at the protests.

Opposition Forces Meet - 05/13/2021

Of the large numbers of protesting organizations across the country, there are two dominant forces which lead the opposition. The first being a union group known as the "Panjali Union Muslim League" made up of student organizations such as Aligarh Muslim Student's League, progressive groups such as the United Socialist Front, and Muslim representation groups such as Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen and Bharatiya Muslim Mahila Andolan. The leader of the Union Muslim League is Aparajita Mahmud, an Imam hailing from Kendua, Bangladesh. The second main group is the Tehreek-e-Insaf, or "Movement for Justice," a military sponsored group which promotes nationalistic pride backed by the support of the lower class and minorities. The leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf is Bhubaneswar Magsaysay, leader of the Panjali military.

On 12th of May, Imam Mahmud and General Magsaysay met in Allahbad to discuss their groups common interests. The contents of the meeting are unknown, but an official joint press statement was released, which discussed the two group's common interests and how they will continue to cooperate in peaceful protest against the current administration until the change they seek is achieved. Whether or not the meeting was anything more than a cordial statement of intentions between the two groups or something more is a point which is still up for debate. As with many behind closed doors issues, the general public will have to wait to see what the full intention of the meeting was.

Ministry of Turism May 23rd 2021 Turism Reform One of the crucial points of the revival of our economy is certainly the valorization of underdeveloped sectors but with enormous potential like tourism. The paradisiacal beaches of the hellenic islands and the millennial culture of Byzantium are gold mines if well valued and exploited properly. The government is therefore developing a series of measures aimed at bringing our nation among the best in the world in this field. The strategic plan is to divide tourism products into five categories: cities, coastal regions, countryside, mountain and wine destinations, focusing on the delocalization of business tourism flows, developing the promotion not only of Byzantium but of other cities, organizing other congresses and meetings. The investment plan includes an annual expenditure of 35M distributed autonomously by the Ministry of Tourism. Part of the funds will be allocated to the creation of a dedicated avant-garde site (for which 45M will be allocated) able to give information to tourists wishing to visit the country. In conjunction with these laws, landscape constraints will be further restricted in areas that will be considered "high tourist flow area". The Quantitative Easing is an unconventional instrument of expansive monetary policy used by central banks. It is called unconventional because it is not among the typical measures of monetary policy. The first effect of QE is to raise the prices of the securities purchased, reduce the yield, and supply the banks with liquidity. The availability of new liquidity could at this point make it easier for banks to lend to businesses and families, also reducing debt in real terms allowing for the expansion of consumption and investment; plus, increasing the amount of money in the system, one of the possible effects is the increase in prices.
