Expected to be completed in 25 to 30 years time, Philippine officials state that New Clark City will promote healthy, eco-friendly, sustainable living and will also reduce pressure off Manila, the capital of the Philippines and one of the world's most densest cities. While the outlook for New Clark City in the Philippines remains optimistic, not everyone holds the same view. Dr Laisunren Jiasen from Ashike University remains highly skeptical on New Clark City, even if the city was to be built with Zhouranese assistance. "Sure, the city sounds nice in paper, but in reality the Philippines lacks the capability to construct a city based on first-world standards" he stated during an interview. Dr Laisunren also added "the Philippines has a high level of political corruption, a large percentage of their total population still live in third-world standards, they have a massive infrastructure gap, and the nation would have to leech off of foreign aid and investments just for the construction of a single model city in a third-world country with up to a hundred million people and growing". When asked if Zhouranese financial and construction assistance will reduce the stress on building NCC, Dr Laisunren replied "no, it would take several wealthy nations such as Zhouran to invest in a Philippine pet project and provide assistance in the construction of the city". He also stated that by the time New Clark City is finished, large metropolitan areas such as Zhouran's Hexie or Japan's Tokyo would be "in the future" while NCC would be "stuck in the past". Earlier today Interim leader of the National Conservative Party Rachel Johnson announced that the party would enter into a coalition deal with the centrist New Democrats- their current partners in government- and the opposition Socialist Party. James Davis, known as the 'great compromiser' will be prime minister even though his New Democrat party is the smallest in the lower house with just 44 seats. Combined the new government with have 189 seats out of 350 giving Davis as 13 seat majority. The National Conservatives will be the largest party with 77 seats, the Socialists at 68, and the New Democrats taking up the rear with 44. The Conservatives and Socialists took a massive beating on the March 13th poll losing 87 and 56 seats respectively. The Christian Social Union won 101 seats and the newly founded Progressive-Labor Party won 60 seats.

It is however uncertain how long this government can last. Populist parties on the left and right see this as the political establishment keeping them from power. Additionally, with the resignation of outgoing Prime Minister John Black as NC leader the next Conservative leader may withdraw the party from the deal. With presidential elections in 2020 and both major parties fending off the Christian Social Union and Progressive-Labor Party they may be pulled to the extremes of opposite ends. Lawmakers have yet to announce cabinet assignments. Outgoing Prime Minister John Black welcomed the deal saying that a new "era of compromise and goodwill" could bring prosperity.

A major bust of a international organized crime network operating between Skull Island and Liberty City occurred. 10 tons of heroin, 20 tons of barbituates, and 30 tons of fiickr were captured on a cargo ship with fake papers. In the hold were 40 illegal foreign nationals and the means of producing false citizenship papers and purple cards. So far ten people have been indicted.

The investigation is ongoing. Says Captain Cruon of the coast guard. "Flickr is an extremely dangerous drug, it is a hallucinogen which causes people to be attracted to bright lights and fires. Recently several buildings burned down on Scooby Island due to this dangerous new drug. We have not traced the source of this drug, but it represents a threat to stability."

There are rumored connections between this arrest and a recent raid on Mechano Cooperative Industries. Neighbors reported gunfire at 2:00 a.m. on 04/21/2018. Clouds of gas were seen billowing from the building. Unconscious men and women were seen being taken out on stretchers at 3:00 a.m. to waiting police vans and transports. We can only surmise what the exact reason is for the raid. There is an ongoing investigation.

Mechano Cooperative Industries was served with tax evasion papers, improper accounting charges, and money laundering. As earlier reported, the CFO had been caught in a non state licensed brothel, and has disappeared from public view. As for China, the spokesperson added that bilateral communications between Zhouran and China will remain "open" and that the two nation "will continue to communicate with each other and maintain mutual trust". China's Hong Kong Aggression Begins After Days of Build-Up

Canton, Hong Kong Crown Territory, 18 May 2018

In the eve of 17 May 2018, the Democratic People's Republic of China began their invasion of the Hong Kong Crown Territory. This was following the sudden spark of Chinese threats to invade Hong Kong, beginning in 6 May when the Chinese stationed around 100,000 troops to the Hong Kong-China border, along with heavy equipment and artillery.

In the days after their deployment, the DPRC received great international backlash, and increased sanctions from the UN. The Eurasian Union expressed their support for Britain, with Japan, Russia, and India deploying troops on their borders with China. However, all of these were ignored by China's iron-fisted dictator, Fu Xinyi, and an additional 80,000 troops were deployed in 11 May. Premier Fu repeatedly stated in Chinese media that "... no diplomacy will be brokered with the West..." and that "... Hong Kong is rightfully ours...".

In response, King-Emperor James IV ordered the 4th Armoured Corps, a unit of the Royal Army stationed in southern Italy, to bolster the 8,700-strong Royal Hong Kong Rifles, the only British military force present in Hong Kong. As of today, no sub-unit of the 4th hasn't arrived in Hong Kong. The Royal Navy and Royal Air Force also saw increased presence in Hong Kong, with the HMS Matterhorn, an Everest-class Light Aircraft Carrier, being restationed there from New Guinea.

The people of Canton, Macao, and Hong Kong City began panicking. Booked flights out of the Territory tripled, and many airports were congested in the days to follow. Airlines began flying more to Hong Kong to accommodate the passenger surge. Supermarkets were often forced to close down due to panic buying, and the Hong Kong Government had to begin releasing supplies typically reserved for disaster.

17 May 2018, at around 23:00, the British forces guarding the border saw flashes of light in the distance, later with sounds of artillery fire. The border checkpoints were barraged by Chinese guns. While their alertness saved most of them from the initial barrage, the soldiers still had to face around 220,000 Chinese soldiers, spearheaded by dozens of ZTZ59 and ZTZ69 tanks.

Royal Army forces stood their ground. Machine guns and anti-tank launchers were fired against the aggressors. Within 30 minutes, the HMS Matterhorn was sending its squadrons of Apache attack helicopters and FGR6 Raven carrier-based stealth fighters. The HMS Bristol and HMS Königsberg City-class frigates tackled a group of Chinese Jiangwei II frigates and Type 037 corvettes attempting a blockade. With practically no air support, the Chinese offence stalled by the dawn of 18 May, the Chinese gaining little ground for high casualties.

However, the Chinese continue to push, and Royal Army lines are getting thinned at every hour. The exact number of casualties is unknown, but estimates are around 100 to 200 Royal Army personnel dead with even more wounded, and around 10,000 to 15,000 PLA troops dead with an unknown but likely high number of wounded. Civilian casualties are put at 46 dead, and hundreds of wounded.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially declared war on China this morning. This was followed by declarations of war from the Russian Empire, Japanese Empire, Dominion of India, and United States of America announced throughout the day. The rest of the NATO and EU member states are expected to follow suit in the coming days.

Governor-General Maribeth Ainsworth held an emergency press conference this morning.

"This act of unprovoked aggression by the Democratic People's Republic of China warrants ultimate condemnation. As I speak, brave Royal Army soldiers are risking their lives only kilometres from here. You can hear the gunshots and explosions from the distance. The PLA is slowly beginning to close into our homes, Canton and its surrounding villages are bombarded by Chinese artillery, innocent people are getting killed. Women and children now homeless and fearing for their lives. This cannot stand. Once we drive you back, and we will, the same amount of violence will meet your own cities. We do not want war, but now that it's here, we sure as hell are going to fight at every field and street corner. For now, we urge the people of the Hong Kong Crown Territory to evacuate. Bring what you can carry, the authorities will come to each and every home and pick you up. Shelters have been set up where you will be safe. We wish your safety. Know that the Empire protects her people."

Evacuations are underway, especially in the City of Canton. The Canton Metropolitan Police is finding difficulty with the situation, and sincerely asks for the citizens' cooperation. If you live in any high-risk area, we recommend you to gather any food, clothing, and essentials and prepare for an immediate evacuation. It is unknown whether the garrison could hold until reinforcements arrive.

Commons In Revolt as Budget Chaos Looms

More bad news for the Prime Minister this morning as his Chancellor's third attempt at passing the year's budget goes before the House of Lords today. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Marquis of Maidely, is due to go before the House for the final debate on the third draft of the budget, which has seen an even further rift open up between the Lords and the Commons. The budget is expected to pass the through the House of Lords this afternoon, but the leader of the Labour Party in the Commons, Sir Arthur Whitegrave, is still not satisfied with the new draft.

The past few weeks have seen two previous attempts at passing the 2018 Budget Act, and with the end of the month looming, the public sector could be in for increased uncertainty over funding. At present, the vast majority of the Strathan Economy is publicly owned, although illicit black markets in non-essential goods and supplies are now accounting for nearly 8% of Strathy's economic activity. The Labour Government has committed itself to largely retaining the status-quo on the budget, to the general agreement of their parliamentary colleagues in the House of Lords. However, the government benches in the Commons are not convinced, with many set to vote against the bill.

Sir Arthur, who remains the government's Secretary of State for Trade has made repeated calls for the opening of the Markets for non-essential services and products with tight regulation to attempt to boost the stagnating economy. Minister for the Treasury, Angela McCleary, echoed Sir Arthur's calls, adding that only freeing of the markets with regulation would help put a stop to the ever expanding black market economy, giving people the choice they clearly desire.

Opposition benches in the Commons have offered their support to the Commons Labour Party, with Conservative Leader Dmitri Arkhistra saying he would welcome a counter budget from Sir Arthur's side of the chamber. However, the Government's benches in the Commons are far from united, with Simon Rosztili's Socialist Party standing in unison with their counterparts in the House of Lords. Conversely, many Socialist Party Peers are moving towards the side of Sir Arthur. A split in both houses could be disastrous for the Government

It is not known if the Commons Labour Party will submit their own budget, however, sources in Malcolm Avenue have said that a draft has been put forward for reading to members of the front benches. If true, such a move would likely bring the Government to a complete standstill. With the Lords at the mercy of the Commons, it could mean a radical shake up of the system. Although this is all merely speculation, it does appear that a budget proposed by the Commons Labour Party would easily pass the Commons and could, in theory pass the Lords with enough work.

Such events would leave the country in serious constitutional uncertainty.

Today in the early morning a commonaut landed on a near earth asteroid. Mr. Kai Garvey is the first commonaut from the UniversalCommons to land on an asteroid. He collected samples of iridium, iron, nickel, platinum, and other metals to bring back to Ohyay Station in geosynchronous orbit. Ohyay station as a research station has brought many breakthroughs including manufacturing of the first space based computer chips, crystals, and advanced materials.

Mr. Garvey is a veteran commonaut. He participated in the establishment of Artesian base on the moon and was instrumental in constructing domes from lunar regolith, collecting the first Helium 3 from the moon, as well as starting up the solar panel production rover on the moon.

This mission was a combined mission of the Space Studies Institute and Dynamic Motors, PPC (Public Private Consortium). It is part of a larger initiative for space commercialization. Dynamic Motors, PPC wishes to study the feasability of mining near earth asteroids for their metal content.

As part of this initiative, metals will be brought to Ohyay Station to be tested in the stations 3D printer to determine if asteroidal material can be used for space based construction and industry.

According to a spokesperson, the ban was put in place due to "quotas" and that the number of overseas Filipino workers in Zhouran is "at a maximum". Currently there are up to a thousand Filipino workers in Zhouran, with an overwhelming majority being domestic workers and street cleaners. Under the temporary ban, Filipinos are prohibited from working in Zhouran while OFWs currently in Zhouran are exempt from the ban. About 10 million Filipinos work abroad, seeking high-paying jobs they are unable to find at home, and their remittances are a major pillar of the Philippine economy. The Philippine government has for decades hailed overseas workers as modern heroes but analysts have highlighted the social cost of migration, tearing families apart and making Filipinos vulnerable to abuse. Overseas Filipino workers in Zhouran are seen by locals as "submissive slaves" and as a result Filipinos are stereotyped as meek, timid and obedient. Not only that, out of the approximately one thousand in Zhouran, a huge majority of the Filipino workers are young women. Many overseas Filipino workers in Zhouran have stated that they feel extremely stigmatized and alienated from Zhouranese society due to their occupation and differences in ethnicity and culture. According to the spokesperson, the temporary ban should last until at least the start of 2019, although he added "the ban could either last longer or end before 2019 depending on various circumstances". On the 14th of June, an emergency summit of the European Union (EU) was called for by Emperor Johann I of Frievolk, regarding the recent rising hostility between Germany and France, as well as a possibly second aggression done by the EU's rogue member, Turkey. 16 of the 22 Member-states agreed to attend the summit, and it was agreed to be held in 17th of June.

On the 17th of June, the aforementioned meeting, a gathering of the heads of state and heads of government of the nations comprising the EU, was held. From 10:00 to 18:00 CET, the leaders of the attending nations gathered to discuss various agendas regarding the Union and its member nations, including a possible readmital of The Frievolker Empire's European Territories, with a 1:30 hour lunch break at 14:00.

The following nations have sent at least one political head to the summit: The UK, France, Germany, Frievolk, Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. The some notable figures were Theresa May, Vladimir Putin, Emmanuel Macron,and Angela Merkel. Folknoren refused to attend.

A separate banquet was held at the night of the 17th, from 20:00 to 23:00, for the member monarchs of The Monarchist Defense Pact who attended the summit, of which are: Johann I of Frievolk, Elizabeth II of Brittain, Willem-Alexander of Netherlands, Karl of Austria, Pavlos of Greece, Umberto Emanuel VI of Italy, and Sofia II of Spain.

One of the main topics was the recently reflamed enmity between France and Germany regarding the two countries' respective nationalism. The Issue rose recently with a rally and demonstration held by "Tradition und Leben", the most prominent monarchist faction in the country, that was attended by millions of people from all over Germany, as well as the German Diaspora from other countries (Note that more than 90,000 Germans have traveled to Berlin from Frievolker states in the three days between the announcement of the demonstration and the day it was held.) This demonstration, not recognized by the government yet, was reacted to by both Poland and France violently and avowedly, which led to Chancellor Merkel's open support of this movement on 10th of June, and the use of "Elsaß-Lothringen" in refering of the territory, which has been an item of interest in the historical Franco-German enmity. As the two nationstates began mobilizing troops and deploying them to their shared borders, King-Emperor Johann of Frievolk saw a need to call for a meeting. The Two countries agreed to cease military actions that could be seen as hostile by the next thirty-six hours, and scale back their rivalry to a verbal level. Chancellor Merkel refused to forbid a referendum in favor of monarchy, stating that "that is only a decision the German People can make", while pledging not to infringe on any other country's sovereignty "so long as they do not ours".

Another Topic that was debated was a possible rejoining of Frievolk in the European Union. King-Emperor Johann stated that the Imperial Diet of Frievolk had announced their own agreement to such a feat, and asked if the member nations of the European Union would agree to allow their return to the Union's fold after the events in 2012. Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Austria sided with Frievolk while Netherlands, Poland, Greece, and Turkey opposed such a feat. It is expected that negotiations will continue until a further time when the EU can give a final answer to our request.

A Third issue discussed was the recent hostile actions taken by the Republic of Turkey. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan refused to apologize for such feats, merely stating that "our actions in Iraq and Syria were merely a matter of national sovereignty, and does not concern this august body.". King Pavlos of Greece instead retorted that mobilizing troops in borders with countries where Turkey has had a hostile history with could give room for further aggression such as the failed Turkish Invasion of Cyprus had shown. Turkey has been given an ultimatum to cease its troops in the borders with Iran, Syria, and Greece lest the World Assembly's intervention can be called for.

A lot of other issues and topics were discussed in the hours of the summit, including climate change, terrorism, military affairs, borders and immigration, et cetera, but no treaty other than those already mentioned were signed, with The EU's next Annual meeting held in August.

However, this crisis does not seem to be the only event happening in Europe now. Following the national claim on Alsace-Lorraine that led to the Emergency summit of 17 June, Despite Poland's official opposition to an official restoration of the German monarchy, the people of the historically and ethnically German provinces of Prussia and Pomerania announced that they were willing to join a reformed German Empire provided the State did not become an ethno-state like the previous incarnation had turned out to be. Our readers know that Germany, despite its avowed insitance on conserving its conservative tradition, has liberalized considerably where social issues are considered.

The Government of the two provinces announced they would hold a referendum to reveal the voice of the people. The government of Poland refused to allow such a referendum to take place, announcing that any such election and participation therein would be seen as an act of treason, leading to region-wide protests, which led to a very violent riot three days ago.
